Welcome to the preparatory phase of Declared Fascist Hindu Rastra. Indian State has always been a Brahmanical Fascist State, now it is being declared to be one with implementing CAA-NRC-NPR in order to snatch the citizenship of Indian Muslims under the garb of "providing nationality to the persecuted minorities of neighbouring countries." We're in 2024 and today is 28th day of March. According to today's The Hindu this is the main headline. "Priest can give CAA eligibility certificate, says govt. helpline: It is mandatory certificate to be submitted along with other documents by the applicants on the portal; as per the rules, the certificate can be issued by a 'locally reputed community institution'. This is the final nail on the coffin of a rotten 'secular' democracy.

So now what? The PM of this country has started directly attacking a community. I have put the whole thing together because obviously I will have "people" telling me that the majority matters or whatever they say. But are we really this blind to not notice what is happening? The ruling party is clearly using religion and communal tension (which they obviously instigated) to hide their inadequacies from the public. This is a tale as old as time: the ruling government has been using divide and rule policies to exploit and manipulate the public. Even after 10 years of their rule,  is the party's only way to gather votes? By causing division between communities?
I am scared about the future. The rising tension between communities scares me. I await with bated breath the day it will finally burst. And you know who will be affected by this? Not the government, not the leaders, not those businessmen or celebrities. It will be you and me, no matter which community we belong to. We will be affected.

Things that are hinduphobic:
Having prejudice for, discriminating and harming (both harassment and hate crimes) people who practice Hinduism on the basis of their religion.
Things that are NOT hinduphobic:
Talking about the caste-based hierarchy and the suffering of people harmed by it, condemning dangerous Islamophobic speech and actions, criticizing the actions of the state when it curbs civil rights of its citizens, opposing people that support an ongoing genocide and talking about your feelings about your own identity.
I hope this clears things up for people. <3
Always remember, prejudice is reprehensible and so is claiming prejudice using it as a shield when someone criticizes you for your negative Actions.

Since some of y'all do not know how to celebrate our achievements in space exploration:
Facts:
1) India became the 5th ever country to reach the moon surface back in 2008 with Chandrayaan-1.
2) India is the 1st ever country to soft-land the south pole of the moon and 4th country to soft-land on moon.
3) India has never physically placed a flag on moon- Only USA and China have physical flags on moon. 'Having a flag on moon' is said as a way to signify a country's presence on the moon through a mission.
Now from all the reactions I have seen, I can categorise them as follows:
1) Space enthusiasts: (Indians and non Indians) Wow! We have a rover in the south pole of moon now! For the first time ever! So proud.
2) Jingoists: YAYyyyy....India is has joined the group of the big bad countries with expensive space missions. Now we are in the same category as those countries who are known for their imperialism and power in world politics bahahahah. WE ARE ONE OF THEM (Modi hai mumkin hai)
3) H!ndu nat!onalists: "SomE coUnTrIeS hAvE FlAgs oN mOoN, oTHerS hAvE MooNs iN fLAgS". (Modi hai toh mumkin hai)
(2) and (3) are actively disrespecting the scientists, engineers and the whole team which made this possible, Out of their love for science and exploration and hard work to make this dream, People have had for decades, come true. They did not do this for small minded nationalism and religious politics.
Moving slightly away from the topic, Y'all were cheering for our Olympic wrestlers when they came home with medals and were very 'proud' of them. Same type of nationalistic things were said. But then y'all abandoned them, Even called them traitors, when they protested against a powerful BJP politician who was sexually harassing minors and women for several years. They asked for support and were met with ridicule. Till this date that person is roaming around free with only a non existent chance of holding him accountable.
So if you're proud of ISRO because y'all got to be jingoists and religious supremacists for a day then you may as well shut up and go back to school. This wasn't for YOU.

PULWAMA ATTACK 5TH ANNIVERSARY -
Tumblr media
The Pulwama attack, which occurred on February 14, 2019, remains a somber reminder of the challenges faced in the fight against terrorism. On that fateful day, a suicide bomber targeted a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, resulting in the tragic loss of 40 brave personnel. The convoy, carrying over 2,500 jawans, was returning from leave or heading to deployment areas when the attack took place.

MASSIVE FARMER'S PROTESTS OUTSIDE INDIAN CAPITAL AND ACROSS THE NORTH OF THE COUNTRY
📹 Massive protests are confronted with teargas, armed police with rubber bullets and drones as thousands of farmers, mostly in India's northern Punjab region, protest on Tuesday demanding a Minimum Support Price or MSP for all crops to raise farmer's income.
Dozens of Farmer's unions participated in the strikes, calling for a "Delhi Chalo" or March to Delhi.
Police in and around the capital have erected barriers on highways surrounding New Delhi, and have begun firing tear gas and rubber bullets at the approaching farmers.
Tractors, along with thousands of farm hands, are seen in footage nearing the outskirts of New Delhi, in the northern Haryana state, being confronted by officers with gas and smoke bombs, including some dropped from buzzing drones overhead.
Authorities have shut down Internet services in some areas where protestors approach, and have erected concrete roadblocks and barriers, while local officials have banned public gatherings and are deploying extra security personnel.
Officials in New Delhi emphasized that sufficient police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed to all entry points to the city.
Farmers are demanding dozens of changes, including a new MSP or floor price for crops to increase and guarantee farmer income, as well as a full debit waiver, according to local union officials.
Political officials in New Delhi say they're open to talks, with Agriculture Minister, Arjun Munda telling reporters on Tuesday that the Federal government already is "bound to protect the interest of farmers."
"Farmers also need to understand that inconvenience shouldn’t be caused to the public,” Minister Munda said, adding the government was always ready for negotiations with the Farmer's unions.
“We are ready to do everything possible to find a solution to this issue,” he said.

The thing is, I don't give a fuck as to what the texts say. Maybe the texts advocating for the caste system wasn't actually implemented in ancient times. Maybe ancient Indian society was more fluid than what we perceive it to be. Maybe caste was actually once a societal necessity.
I don't care. I don't give a damn.
What I care about is what is happening today. The people's attitudes. The reality on the ground. The fact that many people believe that they are God's own gift on this earth and weaponise this belief to oppress others. The fact that a Dalit is one of the most oppressed and underprivileged person in this world. The fact that we are suffering. The fact that Dalit women are raped and killed by UC men and no one gives a shit, not even the police. The fact that we are accused of "politicising" every issue, bringing caste "unnecessarily" into everything but when we are raped, murdered or bullied to the point of suicide, suddenly it's not a caste issue anymore. Our suffering and our deaths are suddenly something that happens in a vacuum, divorced of everything.
So dear privileged Savarnas on desiblr, stop your unending debates about whether or not the caste system was as rigid before the British colonial rule and how being called out on your privilege once on the Internet now means you are "oppressed". These arguments matter very little when actual Dalit people are dying right now. Advocate for their basic human rights instead. And for the love of Ma Kali, acknowledge your damn privilege. Maybe you can't see your privilege because it's normalised to the point of invisibility in society, but I promise you, it is there.
Religious freedom is fine. You have a right to practice your religion and customs.
But you don't have the right to trample upon someone else's fundamental rights in the name of practising your "customs". If your customs advocates for the dehumanization of an entire class of people, then I don't give a fuck, your customs deserve to die, they deserve to be destroyed and dismantled.

Nothing can compare to the desi queer horror of seeing modi smiling and "celebrating" diwali in "ayodhya" while in the intermission for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. This man is the Indian symbol of hate and hindu religious supremacy in india. His blind mass following who believe they are being liberated by his actions from the evil dalit and non hindu folk are the majority. Everyday we fight for our rights as the minority whether we are Muslim – queer – lower castes. And we are trampled by the overwhelming support that this man gets from his goons. Goons who are swept up in his mirage who believe in Israeli propaganda too.
Make no mistake. The hunger games may be fictional, but it's villains are very very real. Until you leave the Capitol you never get to really know.

"CAA is not about Hindus because it doesn't mention Hindus persecuted in Sri Lanka"
And why is that? Why are Sri Lankan Hindus excluded? Is that because they are not being persecuted by Muslims specifically? Because sanghis don't really care about Hindus even half as much as they say and this bill and everything else they do is driven by their hatred of Muslims.

Recently, I noticed a trend where the Sanghis and ruling government are trying to include famous leaders such as Netaji and Bhagat Singh in their propaganda and nationalistic narrative. BRO!! Apply some common sense! These people, if still alive, would've hated you and your ideologies!
Bhagat Singh believed in Communism, and Netaji was against the Hindu Mahasabha!

Its absolutely terrifying how India is possibly in the beginning stages of a full blown genocide of muslims and dalits and other non Hindus and no one is talking about it. All the major news channels are controlled by the media, the prime minister hasn't given a single press conference in the nine years that he's ruled, one of the major opposition MPs was recently outsed from parliament in a bullshit move and BJP party members and supporters are openly lynching people and raising genocidal slogans publicly. And no one is talking about it

Indians on tumblr!!!!! I just found out something and i want to know yall's thoughts. I need to know if I'm the only one thinking about this, and im NOT going to mention this to my family. Help a girl out pls lovelies <333
So at the dinner table today, my dad said the government was making it mandatory to register live-in relationships now, and that not registering your relationship could result in a 6-month jail penalty or something. And at first I was like huh - they're trying to police us again, huh - but then stopped to think, and decided to research instead.
Now, this here is a Times of India article from a few hours ago.✨
In short, the Uttarakhand CM tabled the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill in the Uttarakhand assembly this morning. And one part from the 192-page bill is devoted to looking at live-in relationships as a legal entity. The bill was approved on Sunday, and tabled today.
And this made me SO HAPPY, because FINALLY. We're finally making some progress as a society. The Indian law has taken the first step in recognising two people living together without getting married, yet reaping the legal benefits - an unmarried partner will be a legal entity, legally counting as a loved one (provided they are over 21). Moreover, a couple that's living together but not married can legally have kids, and not face any discrimination in the eyes of the law. And not only that, but in case of a break-up (which also needs to be procedurally filed with the authorities), the woman is entitled to maintenance. I quote from the article:
CM Dhami said, “It is a historic moment for each one of us. Let us all have a lengthy and healthy discussion to bring uniformity in the society.”
This is wonderful! It's such a progressive measure.
But what caught my eye was the final paragraph from the article.
Leader of opposition Yashpal Arya said, "We fail to understand the logic behind the urgency being shown by the BJP government. They expect us to read such a lengthy document speedily and start the discussion. It looks like the government is trying to hide something."
At first that seemed like a classic political counterattack, but it got me thinking. Why indeed the urgency?
And then I realised - what if - what if - it is now legalised for queer couples in Uttarakhand to register live-on relationships and basically reap all the benefits of a legally recognised marriage? They haven't explicitly mentioned the queer community anywhere, but it's possible, right? We know the Supreme Court refused to give marriage rights to non-heterosexual couples last year (see here); but if this is presented as an option to queer couples instead, they can secure all the rights of a traditional marriage with a different kind of registration? It is, after all, not illegal to get into long-term homosexual relationships. I know it isn't perfect, but if they allow homosexual live-in relationships, then it's at least a step in the right direction?
I'm not very well-versed with this, so I'm turning to the only relatively safe space I can think of - desis on tumblr. Is it possible that this could happen, that queer relationship recognition could be an ulterior agenda? Is it really as progressive as I think it is? I'm curious, and so hopeful! Any and all discussion is welcome - what do y'all think?🫶
P.S. let me know if there are any more tags I should add for this to reach more people!

People really need to chill the fuck out when it comes to religion because what the fuck. Religion is a nice belief that keeps you going, and faith is wonderful and all, but it should be kept away from politics PLEASE. I genuinely cannot look at one more political party anywhere in the world who uses religion as an actual reason to justify their bullshit, let alone make it their entire political propaganda. It's just a way to control people and everyone is fucking falling for it. The height of stupidity and brainwashing lies with every religious conservative

the thing that gets me about anti-reservation arguments is the sheer blindness and tunnel vision you need to believe that reservation is a problem that negatively affects (or, god forbid, oppresses) the majority of indians. yes a lot of how our reservation system is implemented is ineffective and fucked up and serves only to uplift the most privileged of reserved groups, but the problem there isn't in reservation. it's in economic inequality, a whole other issue, the same reason most people who get jobs and employment in the general category are also economically well-off. intersectionality is a thing, and the reservations we do have would be most effective if they were intersectional instead of purely based on a single parametric (say a venn diagram instead of mutually exclusive caste and economic-based reservations), but that's a whole other conversation. the so-called "general" category makes up 15% of india's population, and upper-caste hindus make up about 10%. you are not the fucking majority. it's the same argument as guys complaining girls are favoured in placements. the fact that your demographic still makes up the majority of people admitted into colleges or jobs or whatever should make you do some thinking. why do you think that is? do you think upper-caste hindu men are just fundamentally better? that in a meritocracy, this tiny minority would overpower everyone else because of some God given superiority??? now because i still have some faith in humanity I'm going to assume you don't actually believe that and are just living in some deluded bubble of ignorant bliss where you're oppressed for your privilege. the reason you're able to perform better in a so-called pure meritocracy is because of privileges you've been afforded in other areas. if most of your friends also complain about this shit constantly it's probably because the friends you make are influenced by your social station and that colours your view of what the majority looks like. this isn't normal. the flaws in the system aren't because of reservation. yes, the reservation system is in desperate need of some massive changes (especially when it comes to intersectionality and eliminating generational reservation) but the solution isn't to reduce reservation. you are not "oppressed because you're a forward-caste male". calm down and get your head out of your ass.
