#32: “I think I’m in love with you and I’m terrified.”
Gods do not ‘fall in love.’
But it occurs to Mikleo as he sits there in the shelter of night, under asky filled with as many stars as there are emotions, that perhaps a mortalheart such as the one he now bears may not care. His knees are folded underhim, his hands loosely curled against his thighs. He cannot take his amethysteyes away from the sleeping face of the paladin across from him; despitehimself, he cannot make his own heart stop its rapid patter.
In the camp’s firelight, Sorey’s tanned face is rosy, handsome. Theshadows bring out the strength in his jaw and the long curve of his cheeks. Hisdark hair brushes his forehead, curling around his softly-pointed ear; every tiny, adorable snore makes his eyelids shift against his cheeks.
For a moment, Mikleo wonders how it came to be that he should ever havefallen for such a mortal—nonetheless, a mortal who had once sworn his blade andlife to him.
For a moment, Mikleo wonders how he even got to this point, plucked from his seat in the heavens and wrapped in fleshand blood, left to stumble about within the cruel glass frames of time, space, and matter.
For a moment, Mikleo wonders just when it was that Sorey—his firstfriend, his first ally in this long quest to take back his godhood—became soimportant to him.
But then he recalls the beasts they encountered earlier that day. Hethinks of the way Sorey leapt to his defense, broadsword swinging and mouthparted in a rattling warrior’s cry. He remembers how Sorey called upon his namein battle, a half-formed prayer to bid for strength and courage—“LuzrovRulay!”—and he thinks of how strange it was, that physio-emotional reaction ofhis skin tingling at the mere mentionof his true divine name.
He still feels those vibrations in his very soul, he thinks, of Sorey soopenly praying to him.
Before he can stop himself, Mikleo reaches for the paladin’s brow. Hisfingers slowly, gently brush through brown bangs and his eyes scale over theyoung half-elf’s face again. They fall upon the feathers—blue feathers—dangling from his ears.
Fey knights do so loveto adorn themselves with images that reflect their oaths, don’t they?
Mikleo feels like his chest might collapse in on itself.
Just what was it he had done, who knew how long ago and who knew for whatreason, to deserve this worship and devotion? How did he earn the life of sosteadfast a follower…?
He wishes he could remember. He wishes he knew.
“I think I’m I love with you,” Mikleo whispers into the night. Hisfingers drift across to Sorey’s cheek. He grants him a tender, delicate touch. Hebreathes once and then twice; he bends forward and whispers just for theslumbering half-elf to hear, “…and I’m terrified.”
And perhaps that, more so, was something gods definitely did not do.

TOS Tag Game
Thank you @onedamnminuteadmiral for tagging me!!! I’ve been so distracted and busy and haven’t done one of these in ages! <3
Rules: Answer five question about Star Trek and create five of your own to keep the game going.
1. Which episode do you think best captures the spirit of Star Trek. Why?
I’m gonna have to say “Devil in the Dark,” which is the one that got me hooked on the show in the first place. It’s about embracing the unknown instead of fearing it, which really spoke to 14-year-old me and still speaks to me now. Because the unknown can mean a lot of things: things obscured, things not understood, things that make us different.
2. Which two characters do you wish had interacted more, and what do you think their friendship/relationship would have been like?
I wish Uhura had more interactions with the crew in general. She’s so cute and flirty and smart. More specifically, I am always here for Kirk and Uhura interactions. And ya know, with AOS I tend to imagine them having a brother-sister kind of relationship, but with TOS I do imagine it as more professional. They’re both really smart and good at their jobs and have a lot of respect for each other.
3. Who was your favorite actor/actress in TOS, and what do you think they brought to their character?
The Shat alkjsdlfkjsdf. Because Kirk could have very easily become what the media tends to remember him as: a one-dimensional womanizer. That the character turned into something very different owes a lot to individual writers and to Shatner’s performance. Kirk is a genius, a romantic, a stubborn optimist, an explorer, and a guy who’s responsible for running an entire ship. I think a lot of the nuance comes from Shatner, and regardless of whatever b.s. he’s tweeted recently, I have to thank him for giving me a character I love so much.
4. Tell me about a scene or a storyline that meant a lot to you personally. What significance does it have for you?
Honestly, I really love “The Enemy Within.” In a way it feels like a direct response to the insistence that characters be “unproblematic.” We all have flaws and dark impulses, and if your favorite character is worth their salt, they do too. And not only do we all have them, they’re a necessary part of who we are. These aren’t demons that can be cast out; real-life devils can’t be exorcised, and the only way to control our dark urges is to acknowledge and try to reckon with and understand them.
I mean, I wouldn’t say I’m a very dark person and definitely not a violent one. But I’ve struggled with mental illness for a least a decade of my life, and I spent most of that time refusing to acknowledge it, and only recently have I come to understand that that’s just a part of myself that I have to reckon with.
5. If you were a costume designer/set designer/hair-makeup designer, etc., what (if anything) would you change about the aesthetics of the show? Imagine you have a bottomless budget, but it’s still the ‘60s so keep technological limitations in mind.
I’D MAKE THE ALIENS WEIRDER. I immediately thought of the puppets in “Catspaw” that were meant to represent aliens from a different dimension. And I think my mind jumped to that episode because it was written by Robert Bloch, and a lot of TOS writers like Bloch and Theodore Sturgeon had backgrounds writing pulp scifi, which tends to be pretty weird (and Bloch specifically came from the Lovecraft Circle). So when the crew travels around the galaxy and encounters aliens who look exactly like humans, I know its not through lack of imagination. I would have loved to have seen more puppets and some weird makeup and prosthetics. Maybe some H.R. Giger-style stuff, but campier. Tentacled monstrosities or bust as far as I’m concerned!
Man, I’m tired, so I’m just going to tag whoever wants to do this. Same questions. If you do it, please tag me so I can see! <3

hey do a coffee shop au. OR if you want something cooler, maybe a twewy au? (for the wrftd characters pwease)
ALKJSDLFKJSDF OH HECK THESE ARE SO COOL!! I’m definitely gonna do the coffee shop AU because that....that just sounds so sweet and I can’t unthink of it. alksdjfljaksdf THANKS BABE
Coffee Shop AU
There’s a longstanding rivalry between the Ge-Mocha and the Twisted Whip, two indie coffee houses right across the street from one another. Rumor has it the owners of each establishment--Diana Carter and Actaeon Ford--were once extremely in love and had a coffee shop together, but ever since their horrible break-up, they’ve been Incompatible and Sworn Enemies.
Mordecai Rose is just a barista who is working to support himself through college, caught up in the middle of the two ex-lovers’ dramatic feud.
Endric Inuusuttoq is just a regular who’s blind and comes in pretty much every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon when he’s got that ugly, early morning class on campus, and orders the same hot chocolate each time.
Mordecai would be lying if he said he looked forward to seeing Endric only because of his super-cute service dog.

toradh replied to your post “GUYS. GUYS. GUESS WHAT QUEST I JUST DID”
congrats, your lost horse came back!
ALKJSDLFKJSDF I guess so!! No wonder I loved him so much.
sageofthewater replied to your post “GUYS. GUYS. GUESS WHAT QUEST I JUST DID”
I didn't do this quest before I gave the game back to my brother. What is it?
asldkfj I mean the quest isn’t to actually ride the Stalhorse; it’s just to take a picture of him. It’s from Snowfield Stable, called “Stalhorse:  Pictured!”
But I mean who can resist riding that beauty......

46 for Sormik???
ALKJSDLFKJSDF HELLO MY FRIEND...............HAVE I TOLD U ILU LATELY......HERE........HERE, HAVE....HAVE SOME FLUFF.......... \(-ㅂ-)/ ♥ ♥ ♥
#46: “Hey, have you seen the...? Oh.”
Rapid footfallsascended Ladylake’s wooden inn stairs; an uncoordinated and quick thump-thump-thump-thump that announced,as always, Sorey fast approaching.
“Hey, Mikleo!” hecalled. His volume grew as he neared their shared room. “Have you seen my—“
But just as hepushed open the inn door, his voice sharply cut off.
“…oh.”
Lying innocently onthe mattress, curled up with his hands in front of his face, was Mikleo. He hadin his loose grasp the very Shepherd’s cloak Sorey had been looking for, pulledclose to his nose like he had been breathing it in just before he had drifted offto slumber. In the sunlight filtering in through the window pane, the seraphlooked almost ethereal. His hair glittered like aquamarine, his fair skin as porcelain.
Sorey couldn’t bringhimself to want to disturb his childhood friend. His voice got stuck somewherein his throat on its way up from his tight chest.
“Sorey…!” he couldhear Rose call up from the bottom step of the stairs. “C’mon! Get your cloak, and let’s go already!”
Sorey took a stepforward, but the motion felt odd, like he was interrupting a tender scene inwhich he didn’t belong. As if Mikleo was in the middle of a painting thatshould be hanging from the walls of the Sanctuary down the street instead ofhere, in a humble inn, where no one else could see and admire him but Sorey.
The Shepherd meeklytip-toed to Mikleo’s side. With gentle fingers, he eased his cloak from the waterseraph’s loose hold and shook the fabric out. He watched the black-linedpattern ripple. Then, just as carefully as he had removed it, he laid the cloakback over Mikleo’s form, pulling the collar up to his bowed chin.
A soft, fond smilespread across Sorey’s face.
“Have good dreams,Mikleo,” he murmured. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to the seraph’stemple.
Sorey made sure toleave just as quietly as he had entered, slowly pulling the door shutbehind him.
“Hey, Rose…?” hecalled, his voice fading away the further his thumping steps walked. “We can head out tomorrow, can’t we? What’sone more day in Ladylake, anyway…?”
But back in thesilent, sunlit room, an amethyst eye peeked open. Slender, pale fingers reachedup to brush against the white fabric he had been covered with. Then, they fellto the side of his forehead, where he could still feel the phantom breath ofSorey’s lips warm against his skin.
With a deep flushand a pleased smile, Mikleo bowed his head. He pulled the Shepherd’s cloak highabove his face.

nakuravanner replied to your post “I wish you would write a fic where we get a human Mikleo and merboy...”
Don't tease me like this I need more!
ALKJSDLFKJSDF I AM HELPLESS TO DENY AHHH here have some really hastily scribbled first-meeting convo
“Gosh, you’re pretty.”
Mikleo flushes a horrible, hot red that he can feel spreading to his collar. His eyes jerk away from where he had been staring at a very visible and tanned shoulder, and flitter up quickly to see two bright, emerald greens boring into his face. “U-um. Excuse me?”
“I said you’re pretty.” The merboy named Sorey flips his tail fins up at the surface of the water. “Wow...I’ve never seen a human up close like this before.”
“Well, that’s probably with good reason,” Mikleo murmurs under his breath and tries not to think about what some of his professors and classmates would say if they could see him now. If they could see who and what he was with.
He doesn’t like any of the outcomes his mind comes up with.
Sorey’s smile doesn’t dim. If anything, he pushes himself up more on the low dock’s wooden edge and leans up into Mikleo’s face, trying to peer at him better. Mikleo leans back.
“You sure you’re not secretly like....half-merfolk or something?”
The question brings up something soft and strange in Mikleo’s chest:  a candlelit hope that he doesn’t dare entertain. A reason, some sort of explanation, for that impossible feeling he gets everytime he’s near the water--for that calling and endless yearning that sings within his own bones when he sees the ocean, when he can feel the waves lapping at his ankles.
He turns away, his eyes focused on the shoreline he can see just a few short paces away. The wood of the floating dock creaks quietly.
“That’s impossible,” he mutters.
But he wishes the idea was as easy to forget.
