and then the dawn came Band of Brothers OC’s as Buzzfeed Unsolved Meme Gifs
why yes hello you’ve stumbled upon yet another ✨wip✨ from shannon. (are we surprised? no really lol!) this fic ATTDC as i’ve been calling to it and labeling it is based off a gif set i saw a while back, got an idea for and ran with it and now here i am. it will consist of 6 OCs and their roles + their roles in the band of brothers verse (this is a WIP fic and currently this is the only place you can find info on them!!) here is a batch of meme gifs for you all based upon the OCs i’ve created — and let’s just say...man the ACCURACY I LOVED THIS SM!!!! <3 if you have any questions about them, ill be happy to answer :D
now i present to you...
And Then The Dawn Came (We’re All Being Played)
margareta thalberg — the double agent — queen
lucy gardner — the underdog — pawn
rolande pelletier — miss ambiguous — knight
mildred hargrove — theseus moment™️ — king
esther armstrong — the investigator — rook
yvette st. clair — paranoia-warped — bishop
each OC is labeled with something that mainly surrounds them as an OC, as well as the label of a chessboard piece....and that’s what i’ll hand out for now with this one 😉 if you’re interested, i’m happy to answer a question :D

heyy, just one more ask (i don’t think this one’s on the post thingy ??) anyway, i was wondering what kind of process you go through when planning? like how do you structure it? whenever i try to plan stuff out it just ends up being as long as an actual chapter 😑😂
AH HELLO AGAIN!!!! :D aww you’re always welcome for asks here! i appreciate them and always help that in some way i can help in anyway i can!! <3 oooh ok, process when planning!! perfect timing, because i am actually doing some planning for FFTB, ATTDC as well as another BoB fic that’s been knocking around in the ole brain here and SO - i have some knowledge as well as tips from some friends on here that i hope can help you out! <3
So, what we’ll start with I guess is just how I would approach planning and how it always works for me? In general, I don’t do a massive amount of planning just because I’m much more of someone who lets the story speak for itself and grow and develop as I write. And I usually write in time as well, which I know not everyone does, just because usually when I write everywhere, personally, I forget things or I can’t make things line up so I just write all in line with one another! let’s get into it!
There’s so many ways to start planning and most of the time no one does it like the other, but for me I start with my characters, my OCs, because usually they are the integral parts of the story. I would recommend doing Google Sheets especially for planning out characters and every part you want to develop and show with them! They always help me out more than anything and keeping things organized. Usually after characters are organized, I (and I know this may not be the best thing, but it helps me) and just write down everything you want to happen in the story that you know is just sorta floating in your mind. Just sorta write and don’t let your fingers stop typing - just let every idea flow and get somewhere so that you can reference and then of course organize later.
I have quite a few docs just filled with writing ideas and scene ideas and dialogue lines just everywhere. Once that initial stage though is run through, then you can start to figure out - okay how many parts do I want, how many chapters, what is the *theme* I want running throughout, what is my ultimate end goal, just things like that? There is a WHOLE lot of resources online where you can do in depth planning on a site or just on a doc or worksheet or paper even! PERSONALLY, I don’t do much of that if I’m being quite honest, but I know they help so many people - I know the NaNo website has a bunch of stuff as well which I recommend!
And there’s NaNo in April which is extremely motivating for writing if you want! So many people do it and it is so motivating! <3 I’m participating (officially yes!) and so many people on here do the same! There’s a ton of resources on there that I know can also help you out with planning and organization.
But really try to know what you want to do in the story - though I don’t do much planning and let the story just tell itself, I still work to make sure I know what I want to talk about most importantly in the context of the story and what my goals are. Setting goals for yourself I feel is always helpful more than anything and when you accomplish those goals, you get even more motivated! (NaNo is good for that!)
AND ALSO HAVE FUN!! I won’t ever stop preaching this, but really have fun with your planning and your writing and make sure that what you do is what you want for you! It’s your story and you can make it anyway you want! What’s a scene idea that you’ve always wanted to write but been scared to? A character just being purely badass? DO IT! WRITE IT!!! That helps you grow as a writer to continue just pushing the limits and going outside of the box - it has certainly helped me grow!
I hope in ways that this helped, as I’m not a huge planner, but normally this is what I go through for writing and planning and all! Characters (development) - title (if I didn’t have one yet) - put ideas on a doc (scattered if you wish, it doesn’t have to be neat!) - plan parts and chapters and set some goals for yourself - take a look even at what you want to happen in each chapter and what things you want to progress throughout your story - and even on most cases just start writing to get an initial feel for the story as a whole (it helps me!!) - and sort of always just refer back to your characters, their motives, your themes and goals throughout the writing and have some fun!
That’s usually what I always go through when writing and planning, so I hope it helped! If you ever have any more questions or need me to go through this in even deeper detail or more specific questions, feel free to send as many asks with whatever you need on them and I’m happy to answer!! <3 thank you so so much for the ask, and have a great day yourself! :D
#writing#writingblr#just some things i do myself :D#writing tips#planning for writing#my process is honestly quite chaotic and things just come to me but it works haha!
