hi hi hi! oh, i’m excited!
7. What's a book you hope to read while quarantined?
I'm SUPER excited to read, and since I think I'll have a little more time now, I'm hoping to read The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompsons Walker. I read it maybe... 4 or 5 years ago? It's basically about this girl basically growing up in a "end of the world" scenario, due to the Earth's rotation slowing and all sorts of slow panic/changes ensues. I LOVED it when I was especially in my like, emo "how do other people see the world?" kinda phase, and I find it quite fitting for us right now... !
18. If you had to study one subject everyday for the rest of this quarantine, what woudl you study?
I'm guessing this means for fun, right? Because I'm doing classes online and they're not the most spectacular of things to do while home. If I had time, I'd like to study plants for their uses, whether for a tool or medicinal or whatever else. I would preferably have a teacher for this. Or maybe bird calls? My mom and I like to take walks at like 7:00am in the morning and identify birds
21. What's your favorite card game?
This one is HARD, mainly because I don't know a lot of the cool card games like poker. I'm between 500 rummy or Spades. I like rummy because it makes me feel smart if I win, and I like Spades because I like feeling like I can whoop ass with my partner, lmaoo! Like a secret little team where we're so good at reading each other that we can make really good plays. Wouldn't that be cool? Usually it's not in real life though, as much as I wish
31. What have you learned so far from this experience?
I have learned... that I REALLY need lots of diligence and compassion for myself! I mean, I've sorta known that for myself, but I've been doing lots of reflecting on what I can do realistically while home and trying to watch out for when my moodiness kind of takes a down turn. Trying to be gentle with myself while also being like "hey, don't do that" is something I've really been working on while quarantined! Also, this could also be something as simple as just working out consistently with my sister while also not beating myself up over having to take a break every 30 seconds lmao. It can apply to lots of different things, and something for sure I'll be relfecting and learning from for like... ever lmao
40. What is your favorite store? Is it closed?
This one is hard beccause I feel like I have a favorite store but I can't like... pick one, ya know? Anyawys, I LOVE Half Price Books for my bookly, musically, wanderingy needs; I can spend hours there, and sometimes my mom doesn't let me tag along with her because she'll have one (1) thing to get and I'll spend too long wandering and making her wait. I LOVE Cheapo Records, I just like to wander and pick out a CD or vinyl every time I go. I know this one is closed till at least the 10th... maybe it'll open up? I'd feel bad for going though. Also, I adore Target, in all honesty. I went maybe 1.75 weeks ago and they hAD SUCH CUTE CLOTHES. I wanted to spend all of my money. While Target is still open, I feel guilty for going just to shop for clothes. You all better bet I'll be cute af this summer tho after I binge shop... as a treat
and finally 48. What's your favorite quote?
Thanks anon for picking hard questions, because uhhhh how can I just have a favorite? I'll just drop a few
“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.” - The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, because yes, this was my emo book but this line always had a little hope! There's too many from this book that'll stick with me forever so I picked a nicer one
"Friends are like flowers. Some will always come around, some are seasonal, and some are just along for a short ride" - one of my irl friends, but in reality we don't know who? My friend was convinced that my MOM said this one... but I don't think so. Anyways, this one is a nice thought, especially for people who come and go and maybe for why that's so
“If I want more, I need to go and get it, demand it, take hold of it with all my might, and do the best I can with it.” - On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. I LOVE this book and it also is something I pick up every few years; a nice lesson, I think
"Do you think a depressed person could make this? - Ben Wyatt from Parks and Rec, because I love Ben
Sorry anon I feel like... there are so many more quotes that really I like but I can't pOSSIBLY list them all. Maybe I'll just keep a running list
