The feeling when I realised Hannah Waddingham was about my age now when she was the Wicked Witch of the West for Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of The Wizard of Oz back in 2011.

Not only the writing, but she's responsible for the equality in costuming as well for her character. Originally they gave her some kind of lara-croft ass outfit and she was so upset, and she wound up asking the costuming department: "Can I please just have what the guys are wearing?" and I'm forever grateful to her for that, too. She fully expected to be kicked from the project, but still spoke up. Kid and teenage me really did need to see a female scientist and soldier running around in an unsexy black t-shirt and fatigues kicking ass and taking names. Everyone say thank you Atapps.

So unrelated but I will be forever indebted to amanda tapping for crying in her trailer after a day of filming stargate sg-1 and telling the producers/showrunner etc. that she was gonna have to quit because the male writers were writing her character so terribly. my queen had to tell them that strong women don’t say things like “just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside doesn’t mean I can’t handle whatever you can handle” and they actually listened to her and changed the scripts and then years later made fun of their own bad writing by putting that line into an au episode meant only to show how stupid it sounded. she truly changed the world and we are blessed for it.

It KILLS me that Sam never got a profound near-death bonding moment with ascended Daniel in Season 6.

Both Jack (Abyss) and Teal’c (The Changeling) got one and they’re a couple of my favorite S6 episodes. And after Sam was so openly devastated in early S6 about Daniel’s death/ascension… Can you imagine how Shanks and ATapps would have emotionally wrecked us?

We were robbed.

In fact, does anyone have any fic reccs for this concept? (Bonus points if it’s sam/jack friendly.)

6 years ago this precious goofball got an Honorary Doctorate!

I’ve watched the video of her speech so many times! In honour of the occasion, here’s my favourite part, a quote that’s stuck with me for 6 years and will stay with me for life:

“By following your heart and your passion and your gut, and by doing it with the unassailable integrity of which we are all capable, you will become what you are meant to be. We spend so much time worrying about what’s coming down the road at us instead of just living in the moment. Don’t be afraid of what’s coming down the road... unless it’s a big 18 wheeler and then you should probably be afraid and jump out of the way I’m just saying but...

Don’t follow someone else’s idea of what you should be. Be it your parents or your friends or perhaps most pervasively, the media. No one can tell you or teach you what your life should be, you learn it simply by living.

Its funny you mention that because I’m 100% sure her leg is partially resting on the arm rest of his chair... and this is what? S3? Before they realise they’re madly in love? First of all, you probably wouldn’t do that with any boss but for a subordinate to do that to her CO? Absolutely wouldn’t happen.

Gif 4 is just her casually FLIRTING OVER THE PHONE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HALL WAY while she is ENGAGED to a doucebag Pete.

Me: No he’s not mum, this is Sam and Jack we’re talking about and besides you’ve seen that one 

Mum: Don’t squish my dreams, Heather. Its all behind the scenes!! Also he wants to kiss her. They’re so adorable.
