10 Most Anticipated Holdovers of 2021
Ten films that played at festivals or were released in their home countries in 2020 I can’t wait to see in 2021.
Asia dir. Ruthy Pribar
Pribar’s feature film debut is a mother-daughter tale about a woman forced to grow up and become a better mother after her child develops a life-threatening illness. The film was nominated for (and won) a slew of Ophir Awards (Israel’s Oscar equivalent). It also won the Nora Ephron award at Tribeca, an award given to a female filmmaker and whose winners I have almost universally loved over the years.
Beans dir. Tracey Deer
This was one of the three TIFF people’s choice award winners in 2020. Loosely based on Deer’s own childhood the movie tells the story of a 78 day standoff between two Mohawk communities and the Canadian federal government as experienced through the eyes of the titular child, a young girl nick-named Beans.
Bruised dir. Halle Berry
I really love Halle Berry as an actress and I keep hoping she’ll actually get good material and she never does. Fingers crossed that her directorial debut Bruised in which she plays a former MMA fighter looking to get back in the ring will finally do her justice.
Honeymood dir. Talya Lavie
I am a huge fan of Lavie’s directorial debut, Zero Motivation and have been anticipating whatever she made next for years. Honeymood follows a newlywed Tel Aviv couple that, go on a surreal honeymoon around Israel following a huge fight. I love Lavie’s work and frankly this plot description could be about anything and I would watch it.
Mainstream dir. Gia Coppola
I may be alone in this but I loved Coppola dreamy and romantic debut Palo Alto and have been waiting for her next move ever since. Well she’s back with Mainstream where Maya Hawke plays a director turned Youtuber when an consumerist screed she accidentally captures goes viral on the Internet. Coppola has reunited with a lot of her Palo Alto crew so I know that this will be, if nothing else, visually brilliant.
Nomadland dir. Chloé Zhao
I’ve been a fan of Zhao so I was always anticipating this movie but time on the festival circuit means it is now a TIFF People’s Choice/Venice Golden Lion winner. Zhao has a good shot at being the first woman of colour to be nominated for Best Director at the Oscars and if she isn’t nominated at all it will be a huge shock and the think pieces will be unending. 2021 will be the year of Zhao and I can’t wait!
Rosa's Wedding dir. Icíar Bollaín
This is exactly the kind of cheesy life-affirming movie I love. Set in Spain the titular Rosa is a middle-aged woman who has lived her life for everyone else and decides to start doing what she wants by throwing a wedding to celebrate her commitment to herself. Her family thinks she’s marrying her longterm boyfriend and start planning her wedding to him. Shenanigans ensue. 2020 was a shit year. All I want to do is watch happy movies with ensuing shenanigans!
Shiva Baby dir. Emma Seligman
The reviews for this film, in which a bisexual Jewish woman is forced to attend a shiva where she runs into both her ex and her sugar daddy, have been absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to see it and hope it lives up to the hype!
The World to Come dir. Mona Fastvoldt
I have been really impressed with Fastvoldt’s writing work with her husband actor turned director Brady Corbet so I was immediately intrigued by the fact that she’s stepping into the directing chair again with a period piece about neighbouring 19th century women who fall in love with each other despite being married to men.
Zola dir. Janicza Bravo
I felt like I had been waiting forever for this movie and then covid-19 hit and I had to wait over a year longer. Based on an article based on the infamous Twitter thread about a young woman going to Florida to strip and then finding herself entangled in a sordid tale of prostitution, sex trafficking and violence, Zola has been hotly anticipated for years. Also ready for Taylour Paige to become a star (go watch Jean of the Joneses if you don’t know what I’m talking about).

MORTAL KOMBAT (2021)
there has yet to be a truly capital-G Great movie based on a video game. There was hope that the latest stab at “Mortal Kombat” might stand a chance to break that trend. The short answer is a hearty “No,” but that doesn’t mean there isn’t fun to be had here.
If all you know of “Mortal Kombat” is that it’s a video game that, upon its debut in arcades in 1992, swiftly helped spur a national pearl-clutching tour by politicians and parents’ groups over the level of “realistic” gore and violence found within, you might be surprised to learn that the bones of the story and characters are actually pretty fun. It treads heavily from the roots of comic books and classic kung fu movies which inspired series creators John Tobias and Ed Boon. So while there’s nothing terribly original about a secret martial arts tournament where people with extraordinary powers duke it out to decide the fate of the universe, the sort of (mostly) straight-faced sincerity used to bring it all to life fits perfectly well within the cinematic landscape that regularly sees people with godlike powers traipsing across movie screens these days.
And to its credit, this take on “Mortal Kombat” never shies away from any of the incredibly outlandish aspects of the series: Warrior monks who can throw fireballs from their bare hands. Laser eyes. A sorcerer who can (quite literally) suck a man’s soul from his body. Another warrior monk but this one uses a razor-edged hat as a throwing weapon and teleportation device. It’s all here. There’s some nominal explanation as to how or why these characters get superpowers, but for the most part it amounts to “just because, now watch this guy with a New Jersey accent wearing a cyber mask use hook swords and run so fast he can teleport.”
Given the way audiences have simply come to accept comic book heroes and given the movie’s overall embrace of the outlandish, it then becomes somewhat baffling that someone along the line decided it was absolutely essential that we be guided into this world via a brand new character who can act baffled at all this weird stuff happening. It might have made more sense had any questions been truly asked or, more crucially, been answered, but we never even really get an answer as to why exactly a martial arts tournament is what decides the fate of Earth. At the very least it would have been worth it had this character, Cole Young, been played by anyone with even a hint of genuine charisma. Alas, despite his best efforts, Lewis Tan simply doesn’t have the juice to shoulder the weight given him.
Then again, he’s not really helped by Dave Callaham and Greg Russo’s script. It’s clear that there is an abiding affection for the legacy of “Mortal Kombat” and its world and characters. Fans of the games will have no trouble recognizing the likes of Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), Kung Lao (Max Huang), Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim) or Kano (Josh Lawson). But the story is so thin and gives the surprisingly large cast very little to do overall.
After losing an underground MMA match, Cole learns that he’s been chosen to take part in a tournament known as, you guessed it, Mortal Kombat. Shang Tsung (Chin Han), an evil, soul-sucking sorcerer, however is bound and determined to make sure a tournament never happens, thus making it that much easier for him to take over Earthrealm. Fights and fatalities ensue.
And that’s...pretty much it. Cole meets up with an eclectic group of other fighters as they attempt to train and prepare for the tournament, but this mostly relegates them and the film to a massive cave temple somewhere in Asia. Not exactly the most dynamic or exciting location, especially given how wild and vibrant so much of the video game’s fight locale’s have become over the years.
So if the film’s budget (clearly) held back its visual potential and its lead leaves much to be desired, how could I possibly claim there’s fun to be had? This is where checking your expectations at the door helps.
To put it succinctly: “Mortal Kombat” is not “The Raid.” It is not “John Wick.” It doesn’t rise to the fairly high standard that has been set since Paul W.S. Anderson directed the first “Mortal Kombat” in 1995. Simon McQuoid’s 2021 film doesn’t even hit the highs of a lot of Scott Adkins’ direct-to-DVD outings. (Although that’s not an insult to Adkins, as he’s a legitimately great movie martial artist and you should watch his movies.) This “Mortal Kombat” lies somewhere in between. It tries hard. It brings in accomplished martial artists like Taslim and even Tan, whose father, Philip, is an accomplished stunt performer and choreographer.
Could the combat (kombat?) have been better? Without question. But what’s here is fun. The fights are competent and not edited to shreds. But perhaps more importantly, it’s one of the first movies based on a video game to not only nail the iconic visual aspect of the characters, but to truly and fully lean into the fact that these people all do wild and silly things like shoot lasers from their eyes or throw fireballs. It also delivers in spades the games’ trademark, outlandish violence. To save my editor from sternly admonishing me for describing (even mildly) the things certain characters have happen to them, suffice to say it makes the digitized, roughly pixelated violence of the 1992 look positively PG-rated by comparison. No doubt this will turn off more than a few potential viewers, but there’s no denying that fans of the series flock to it in large part for this reason. So if you find entertainment in violence that’s so absurdly over-the-top it swings right around to being comical, this version of “Mortal Kombat” delivers to a satisfying degree.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t also single out actor Josh Lawson. His performance as Kano is hands down my favorite part of the film and he fills every scene he’s in with a delightfully smarmy energy, much as the late Trevor Goddard did playing the same character in the 1995 film.
Maybe my enjoyment (or soft judgment) of the film is due more to the fact that it’s just good to see new movies again, and to do so with friends. I got a few (fully vaccinated) buddies to come join me in my backyard, I set up an outdoor screen and projector and streamed “Mortal Kombat” from my laptop and we had a blast laughing at and with the movie and generally relishing the absurdity, the competent fights and some fun characters.
It’s entirely possible this movie won’t hold up on repeat viewing as such instances will inevitably be divorced from the context in which it was originally viewed, but that’s OK. This time out I got some very basic enjoyment out of it and had a good time with friends and sometimes that’s more than enough.

Demetrious Johnson Relaxed In Singapore Before Manila Bout
Tumblr media
Martial arts fans in Singapore should have been on the lookout last week.
Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson was in town to soak up the Singaporean experience and weather before he flew to Manila, Philippines for ONE: DAWN OF HEROES.
This Friday, 2 August, the American faces Japan’s Tatsumitsu “The Sweeper” Wada in the semifinals of the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix at the Mall Of Asia Arena in the Philippine capital.
Outside of the usual media responsibilities, “Mighty Mouse” split his time between training at Evolve MMA and sightseeing in the Lion City.
In just his second visit here, the Washington native was already impressed with the garden city-state.
“I just love how clean it is,” remarked Johnson. “I’m taking my wife to Gardens by the Bay. I saw a picture and it looks like a scene from the movie Avatar.”
Johnson also got his daily fill of protein, thanks to one of his favorite restaurants after his first visit to Singapore.
“The steaks at CUT [by Wolfgang Puck Steakhouse] are absolutely amazing,” Johnson recalled. “Also, I love Shakefarm, and I’m always headed there after I’m done with my training at Evolve.”
Thanks to ONE’s hydration policy, Johnson does not need to obsess over cutting weight and can instead afford to enjoy the food in Singapore.
The 32-year-old got his first taste of durian - a fruit that divides most of Asia because of its pungent smell - during a media shoot recently, and it looks almost certain to be his last.
“Someone brought me durian in the office,” Johnson said with a laugh. “The moment it came, I was like, ‘Man, is there a gas leak in here?’ I tried it, but man, that smell was awful.”
Though Johnson does not like the taste of durian, the multiple-time World Champion has definitely acquired a taste for Singapore’s different cultures.
“There is so much diversity here,” Johnson explained. “You have so many different ethnicities all living together.”
But now, with ONE: DAWN OF HEROES just a few days away, “Mighty Mouse” has turned his attention to his tilt with Wada.
“It’s going to be a tough fight. I’m sure I might battle a bit of adversity, which is totally fine,” Johnson declared. “It’s part of the sport of mixed martial arts, and I just have to go out there and fight.”

Denice Zamboanga, Stamp Fairtex Get Praise from Women’s MMA Pioneer Miesha Tate
Denice Zamboanga and Stamp Fairtex are two of the best atomweight fighters in ONE Championship. The young stars are part of a rising women’s contingent in MMA who are up-and-coming in Asia.
Tumblr media
In a podcast interview on the South China Morning Post, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and current ONE Championship Vice President Miesha Tate showered heaps of praises on the women competing in the ONE Circle.
“Honestly, I think a lot of the women have yet to be discovered,” said Tate.
Tumblr media
Zamboanga, currently the #1-ranked atomweight in ONE, who sits just below reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee, has been on an absolute tear since joining the promotion in 2019. The world has certainly taken notice, as Zamboanga has quickly become one of the most popular fighters in ONE.
The fiery Filipina, Tate mentioned, is a talent worthy of attention.
“Denice, I know I've mentioned her before already, but if you haven't watched her fight. I'm a huge fan of her. I love her tenacity. I feel like I see a little bit of Angela in her when she used to fight, like even myself. I see little bits of that in her. She's her own woman and her own fighter. She has that something special as well, and I really think she's going to go places,” said Tate.
“So Denice is somebody I think everybody should keep their eyes on. I think she has a very bright future.”
Zamboanga’s close friend and fellow ONE Championship athlete, Stamp Fairtex, also received nothing but kind words from Tate.
Stamp is the former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion who has recently dedicated herself full time to a burgeoning MMA career.
Tate believes both Zamboanga and Stamp could perform very well in the highly-anticipated ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix, when the tournament commences in 2021. The winner, of course, will go on to face Lee for the atomweight belt.
“Stamp Fairtex, I know that she lost her kickboxing and Muay Thai titles recently, and I kind of maybe fault that a little bit to her transition to MMA. Maybe she hasn't been able to stay as sharp in the striking, that's to be expected. However, her MMA game is really good. It has exceeded all my expectations,” said Tate.
“When I watch her fight, she has amazing fight instincts -- on the ground and in the wrestling department. She doesn't make mistakes. She just automatically knows what to do. She's just a good athlete, a great athlete. So I'm excited to also see what Stamp does, curious to see if she will be part of the Grand Prix. I hope so. I'd love to see her and Angela fight some day.”
Considered a legend in the combat sports industry, having competed professionally between 2007 and 2016, Tate is a pillar of women’s MMA. She brought attention to the sport with her high-profile rivalry with fellow legend Ronda Rousey.
Tate won the bantamweight belt in 2016 with a victory over Holly Holm. She surrendered the title to now current champion Amanda Nunes shortly after, and lost her next bout against Raquel Pennington which ultimately led to her retirement four years ago.
Today, she’s a full-time mother and a high-level executive in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

At 5ft 3 and about 120 lbs, Fernando is in the perfect position to help the smaller person overcome the odds against bigger opponents.
He has been doing that his entire career.
It is this simple – he KNOWS EXACTLY what will work for you and your loved ones, when it really matters.
I am going to teach you the EXACT Self Defense moves that we use in BJJ.
These techniques have been proven to work both inside and outside of the Cage and are ideal for the smaller person against the larger opponent.
Not only will you see me perform these techniques, but afterwards you will see the Worlds No.1 Pressure Point Fighting Expert, Russell Stutely ADD Pressure Points to many of these techniques and variations that will DRAMATICALLY increase the effectiveness yet again.
For those BJJ practitioners out there in any doubt, I can personally vouch for the effectiveness of these Pressure Point enhanced techniques.
REMEMBER: What Russell will show you is for Self Defense only. You will most likely be banned from competition if you try these on the mat.
Russell is the Worlds leading Pressure Point Fighting Coach.
Here are a few of his credentials:
OCFM International Coach
PPDT International Instructor
Cop Tactics Master Instructor
6th Dan Karate Jutsu
1st Dan Ju Jitsu
World Martial Arts Hall of Fame
World Combat Hall of Fame
Boxing Coach
Russell has been teaching his unique system for over 20 Years all around the World.
He has helped 1000’s of people just like you, improve their Self Defense skills – virtually overnight.
For over 20 Years now, I have been travelling the Globe teaching my systems to Police Forces, Military Units, Martial Artists, Security Officers and to Corporate Bodies.
My systems are ”required learning” at nearly 100 Police Academies. Over 20,000 Security Officers per year become Certified in my systems.
This is no accident – it is because my systems work and they work damned fast.
I have worked with Professional Fighters to increase their speed, timing, distancing, punching power and much more.
I have hundreds of rounds with Professional Boxers at the highest levels under my belt.
I have had broken ribs, my jaw broke, teeth smashed out and still carried on fighting.
I have worked Security in several Countries and have first hand experience of real World violence.
I tell you this, not to blow my own trumpet, but to let you know for sure, that you are indeed in the right hands when it comes to getting the right information about defending yourself and your loved ones.
We asked Fernando to show us EXACTLY how Gracie Ju Jitsu would handle some of the most common Self Defense scenarios for the smaller person or the weaker person out there on todays mean streets.
As a former Champion and a 3rd Degree Black Belt who is 5ft 3 and under 130 lbs, he KNOWS these problems all too well.
THANKFULLY, he also knows HOW to make techniques work against the bigger guy – after all, he has been doing that all of his life!
This means you can’t rely on strength and power to get out of situations – you also need technique.
Fernando told us, that all of these techniques shown have been used in the Cage, on the street and are EXACTLY what is taught in Gracie BJJ Self Defense.
It does not get better than that!
You will see Fernando escape strong and potentially lethal attacks with devastating ease – using the techniques and principles of Gracie BJJ.
Let’s take a look at just some of the things you will learn today:
Grab Escapes
Learn the “secret stance” that makes you an immovable object. Fernando calls this “holding a plate”. Watch as a 6ft, 180lb attacker, is unable to move Fernando even one inch! – Spectacular Stuff!
Choke Escapes
Get them off and walk away or break both of their arms at the same time – the choice is yours. Fernando had to use extreme caution when showing this technique.
Swap Positions
This is incredible to see. Watch as Fernando shows you how to “swap positions” with your attacker. One second the bad guy is on top ready to smash – and the next, you are! Wow – this is getting juicy now!
Never Get Strangled
This one just blew our minds. Watch as Fernando carries on talking whilst various strangles are being applied, just to prove how his methods will help keep you safe. Then he applied the defense – INCREDIBLE!
Much More
There is so much more information on this action packed DVD Set.
Then things got more serious – which is great news for you.
Fernando asked us, to get the Worlds leading Pressure Point Fighting Coach, Russell Stutely, to show some variations of these techniques for you.
Here is some background to how this came about:
Fernando and Russell both train together at the same Gym, in Phnom Penh Cambodia, where they met up many Months ago.
They have spent many Months analysing each others training methods and learning from each other.
Which is something they have both kept quiet about – till Fernando persuaded Russell to be Uke for this DVD Set.
Well, when we say persuaded, we mean asked! Of course Russell jumped at the chance to help his Sensei.
During the filming they would often be seen going through evil techniques off camera and discussing if they should be shown or not!
We were aware of this and after filming with Fernando, we asked for his permission to request some techniques from his BJJ Student, Russell.
We were delighted when Fernando said, no problem… and so a few days later at the other end of the Huge Prokout Gym, we filmed live during the day with Russell.
We want to make one thing absolutely clear here – The filming took place at Prokout Gym, in the heart of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Anyone who has visited Asia, will tell you this fact – nowhere, ever, will you find a place that is actually quiet for more than 2 seconds!
So, you will occassionally hear the “sounds of Asia” as they say, during this shoot. It in no way, detracts from what you can see and hear – all is crystal clear – but here at Gracie BJJ – we are always 100% up front and honest… part of the tenets of BJJ!
So, lets take a quick look at what Russell will show you:
Double Power Guillotine
This simple shift of the body will DOUBLE the power of your Guillotine. You MUST train this lightly for the safety of your training partner.
Fig 4 Double Break
This one left us dumbfounded. How a simple little twist turns a ”Standing Kimura” into a double break on the same arm!
Devastating Leg Pressure Points
Watch as a seasoned Thai Fighter is in agony as Russell “gently” applies a Pressure Point. Then imagine the pain if it was struck with full power.
Much More
Russell showed a ton of stuff that utilises “Atemi” within your BJJ and Self Defense. This is for serious Self Defense situations only – it is banned from competition.

Drex Zamboanga Beaming With Excitement Ahead Of Global Debut With ONE Championship
Tumblr media
Philippine MMA Champion Drex “T-Rex” Zamboanga wants to leave a lasting impression when he makes his highly-anticipated debut inside the ONE Championship ring this Friday night.
The 27-year-old veteran is scheduled to face Thailand’s Detchadin “Detchpool” Sornsirisuphathin in a three round mixed martial arts contest at ONE: A NEW BREED, a live, closed-door, audience-free event scheduled for 28 August in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ahead perhaps the biggest moment in his career thus far, Zamboanga is looking to score a statement-making victory with millions of fans watching around the world.
“I am super excited because this is my MMA debut in ONE Championship, and I feel so great to be a part of the largest martial arts organization in the world,” said Zamboanga.
“This is my first exposure on the big stage, on the number one promotion here in Asia. For me, I feel really excited because there’s a lot of very good fighters in the flyweight division. It’s a new challenge for me, and it gives me extra motivation to train more to reach my ultimate goal.”
An added incentive for Zamboanga in the upcoming event is getting the opportunity to perform on the same card as his younger sister Denice.
It’s a rare and special occasion when sibling martial artists make it to the highest level of competition and can compete on the same card. Both Drex and Denice are very thankful for the chance to do so at ONE: A NEW BREED. Drex, in particular, wants to use the platform to inspire others who look to follow in his footsteps.
“I’m very happy because both of us are fighting on the same card here in Bangkok. It’s the first time for us to compete on the same card in such a big organization. We did so before, when we were amateurs around six years ago, but that can’t compare to this moment,” Zamboanga said.
“My dream here at ONE is to become the ONE Flyweight World Champion. But someday, I also want to be an inspiration and great role model to people who also want to become professional MMA fighters, like me.”
Like every martial arts athlete, Zamboanga has his eyes on becoming a ONE World Champion. But to get to where he wants to be, he has to beat the man in front of him first.
Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin is no walk in the park. The 30-year-old “Detchpool” is a Thai Amateur MMA Champion, who has trained with some of the best martial arts talent at Bangkok Fight Lab. Detchadin poses a huge threat to Zamboanga’s aspirations.
Nevertheless, Zamboanga is excited to finally get in the ring and perform, and announce his arrival on the global stage in epic fashion.
“Winning here in Bangkok is very important to me, because I put a lot of time and sacrifice into this just to win. We haven’t seen our family in a long time so we can stay here in Thailand and focus just on training,” said Zamboanga.
“This Friday night, I want to make sure I give my one hundred percent, to show people around the world my talent. It will be a great and amazing fight.”
ONE: A NEW BREED brings together the absolute best in local and international martial arts talent.
The headline bout features ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand, who defends her title against promotional newcomer Allycia Hellen Rodrigues of Brazil.
In the co-main event, Muay Thai superstars Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythai gym and Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai square off in the final round of the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament. The winner will go on to challenge ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao at a later date.
Download the ONE Super App to catch all the action at ONE: A NEW BREED for free or tune in to watch on meWATCH at 8:30 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (SGT).

Seismic Survey Market - Global Industry Insights, Trends, Outlook and Opportunity Analysis, 2018-2026
Seismic survey is a method used to investigate geological properties of earth and is majorly used to explore natural gas, petroleum, and mineral deposits. Data acquisition, processing, and interpretation are the three phases of seismic survey. This technique determines the time interval between the initiation of waves at a shot point and the arrival of reflected or refracted waves by the seismic detectors. Various techniques including air guns, dynamite blast, and seismic vibrator among others are used for initiation of seismic waves. The amplitude and time are recorded on arrival of these waves at the detector. The time taken by wave to return to the surface gives several information such as types of rocks, possible fluids, and gases in the formation, providing a detailed image of the subsurface and the location of oil and gas reserves.

Market Dynamics
Increasing demand for oil and gas is a major driving factor for growth of the global seismic survey.  According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, fossil fuels is estimated to account for 77% of the global energy use by 2040. Advantages of seismic survey such as reduction of probability of drilling dry wells thereby, preventing further drilling and minimizing environmental effects of oil and gas exploration is propelling growth of global seismic survey market. Advancements in technology in seismic survey is expected to fuel growth of the global seismic survey market over the forecast period (2018–2025). For instance, in April 2017, Explor Geophysical Ltd. launched PinPoint seismic technology that enables ultra-high density seismic imaging of oil sands targets. Furthermore, in August 2016, CGG launched TopSeis, offshore seismic technology.
Government regulations on seismic survey such as 2013 European Union regulations 2013 SI 134 that assess the environmental impact of petroleum exploration is a major factor restraining growth of the global seismic survey market.
Market Trends
3D seismic survey was the dominant technology segment in 2017, owing to its advantages such as continuous and clear images of subsurface stratigraphic features and good lateral resolution. 3D seismic survey technology finds applications in reservoir characterization and monitoring reservoir fluid movements.  According to Petroleum Geo-Services, the 3D seismic survey demand in 2006 increased up to 120% by the fourth-quarter of 2012 calculated by square km.
Market Outlook
North America was the dominant region in the global seismic survey market in 2017. Shale explorations along with offshore shallow water and deep water exploration has increased in this region in the recent past, leading to high demand for seismic survey. For instance, in January 2018, TGS announced commencement of three new 3D seismic projects in the basins of West Hackberry, Sanderson, and Dawson in North America.
Seismic survey market in Europe is witnessing a significant growth, owing to increasing exploration activities to cater to the high energy demand. According to European Commission, 72.5% of all energy was produced from fossil fuel, including crude oil and natural gas in the EU-28 in 2015.
Asia Pacific seismic survey market is expected to exhibit high growth over the forecast period. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Mineral and Petroleum Exploration, total mineral exploration expenditure increased by 6.1% to US$ 201.28 million in December 2016 from previous year in Australia. This growth in expenditure is in turn driving growth of seismic survey market in Asia Pacific. Furthermore, increasing demand for oil and gas is leading to high utilization of seismic survey, which in turn is fuelling growth of seismic survey market. According to International Energy Agency, gas demand is expected to increase by 1.6% globally, from 2017 to 2022, with China contributing 40% to this growth. Also, consumption in China is expected to increase to 340 billion cubic meters by 2022.
Middle East and Africa are lucrative markets for seismic survey, due to increasing oil and gas exploration and production activities in these regions. According to the World Energy Council, the natural gas reserves in Middle East was  80,040.9 billion cubic meters in 2015. Also, the oil demand in this region is estimated to grow by 1.4% between 2014 and 2020. This will augment demand for seismic survey in this region. Furthermore, increasing mineral and oil & gas exploration activities in Africa is fuelling growth of the seismic survey market. For instance, in April 2017, Shearwater GeoServices announced that it would conduct 3D marine acquisition survey in offshore North Africa; and SeaBird Exploration announced 2D seismic survey in offshore West Africa.
Key Players
Key players operating in the seismic survey market are Breckenridge Geophysical, LLC, BTW Company Ltd., Dolphin Group ASA, Polaris Seismic International Ltd., Spectrum ASA, Terraseis Ltd., MMA Offshore Limited, Kuwait Oil Company, Seismic Surveys, Inc., and LoneStar Geophysical Surveys LLC.

There was MMA this morning and SOME of it was awesome
All the results an dfunsies inside.
Lucie Pudilova UD Ji Yeon Kim
A very interesting fight kicks off the FP card. The striking of Kim took a while to get going but after about a round and a half of eating jabs and uppercuts, Lucie Pudilova wanted nothing to do with it. That led to Lucie Pudilova pushing forward to try and get her in the clinch against the fence. In the second round there was absolutely nothing doing in that regard but in the third she was able to take advantage of Kim's shaky work against the fence with some guillotine attempts. Neither were all THAT tight but in a round of no offense, those two submission attempts probably meant the difference. I've got it 29-28 Pudilova and so did the judges unanimously. Kim sort of gave the third round away and hopefully she'll learn from it. Not sure if Pudilova looked worse than her fight vs Lansberg or if Kim was just surprisingly good. Didn't show any jitters or cardio issues, just a touch of inexperience in a really tough round.
Naoki Inoue UD Carlos John de Tomas
There are certain things a fighter can do that simply can't be trained or developed in a gym setting. Naoki Inoue has a lot of that. We're talking about a guy who's lanky, swift and frenetic on the ground and on the feet. Against an opponent who missed weight, Naoki Inoue set a quick pace and cooked CJ de Tomas who had a good start to the first round. Be it inexperience or nerves, CJ de Tomas went away from his striking and pushed for a takedown that once he got, he couldn't do anything with and he was then utterly gassed out. It didn't help that Inoue's smooth no effort offense and grappling just wore him down and left him completely gassed. Good fight for both guys but Inoue is clearly the one to watch going forward. You can refine the tool set but the physical gifts and genuine talent are readily apparent. No idea what weight class de Tomas is going to have to fight at but there were plenty of moments where it looked like he had SOMETHING there.
Russell Doane TKO1 Kwan Ho Kwak
Hawaii is on a fuckin' STREAK fellas! Russell Doane is normally at the very least a really exciting fighter but he came out REALLY slow. He was just getting chewed up with leg kicks and combinations at range and then it was like a light switched on for him. He FIRED in a big left hand down the middle, Kwak was in the "I'm stung but not hurt" defense and Doane just poured it on him! Pressured Kwak, hit him with a knee down the pipe, got him against the fence the way Brett Johns did and then UNLEASHED hooks and straights until Kwak broke. Folded him up on the landing and then just poured it on until Steve Pearceval jumped in there. Doane is SUCH a good fighter that his problems have been so perplexing. Some of it is down to just poor fight IQ but man when he's committed, he's SO good. This is not a fighter who should be on the prelims, this is a fighter who should be somewhere in the top 15 of the division.
Li Jingliang UD Frank Camacho
Li Jingliang is a hero of the masses. End of discussion. What else can I say? Dude got bounced around like a human pinball in the first round then settled down and won the next two rounds by way of his versatility and cardio. Camacho was timing him up with overhand rights so Li Jingliang decided to go to leg kicks over and over and over until Camacho had no burst and snap in his punches. That plus the short notice aspect of the fight meant that Camacho had nothing in the third round. Watching Li Jingliang mix it up with all kinds of shots and just push forward and give a super tough dude all kinds of problems on the feet was really fun. Li Jingliang has won three in a row although a lot of those have come vs so-so competition. Still he's improving and I can absolutely see him and Wang Guan getting big pushes if they try to break into China again. Dan Hardy nailed it; Frank Camacho would probably be a serious type of fighter at 165 lbs if that weight class ever takes a step forward.
Ulka Sasaki 2nd round RNC sub Justin Scoggins
Mother of God what an epic fail from Justin Scoggins. Scoggins drops Sasaki twice, slammed him on his head at one point, was getting swamped on the ground and then Scoggins slips up once. All it takes is one as Scoggins gives up his back, gives up back mount and gets submitted with a RNC in the second round. Sasaki is a really good fighter so credit to him for pulling it off but Scoggins was dominating the fight and then just slipped up WHICH is sort of a pattern developing with Scoggins. Did the same vs Moraga and Pedro Munhoz. Ooof goodness. I'm curious to see how Ulka progresses at 125 lbs (or 135 lbs if 125 goes by the wayside).
Alex Caceres 2nd round TKO Rolando Dy
Kind of a bummer I suppose how it ended. Alex Caceres lands a perfect left hand which bonks Dy right on the eye and once that happened, Dy simply couldn't see out of the eye. The doctor thought he was fine but the ref said (rightfully) that Dy was fighting with one eye closed. I really love Caceres' offense when he feels like he can just march forward unmolested. He threw all kinds of steam and stank on Rolando Dy but Dy was starting to rally in the second round. Not much else you can say about the fight. Was a fine prelim filler fight with Caceres being a total wild man. Would like to see Dy back and I figure he'll get a shot in their Japan or the rumored November/December Korea card.
Walt Harris 1st round KO Cyril Asker
I mean easy peasy enough. Harris landed a few body shots, was buckled once on a counter club shot and then dropped Asker with two quickies. Ground and pound followed and game over! Harris should realistically be on a four fight winning streak because I think most people thought he beat Shamil Abdurahimov. Walt Harris feels like the sort of dude people have been trumpeting as a potential top 15 HW for forever now. Dude is improving and with his size, power and athletic ability, I can see him at least earning the opportunity to get some bigger fights. Harris is a fight finisher at the very least. I'd love to see Harris get a "big" name like whatever remains of Gabriel Gonzaga.
John Tuck 1st round sub over Takanori Gomi
The immediate winner is John Tuck but the LONG TERM winner is Rizin because Gomi's done and dusted on an elite level.  Tuck blasted him to the body and hurt him badly, opening the door for Tuck to just beat the shit out of him. Tuck then just pounded on Gomi until the RNC opened up and game over! Tuck gets a big name and a win that sorta kinda doesn't do anything for him beyond that. Tuck's a fun enough fighter though and valuable as a mid card type act on these Asia cards so I'm fine with this.
Rafael Dos Anjos decisions Tarec Saffiedine
Good fight that after a string of finishes probably felt 30 minutes long for most people. RDA at 170 doesn't seem overly small for the weight class. Dos Anjos has come such a long way in such a short period of time and watching him pummel dudes with body shots and stinging knees is always refreshing. Saffiedine was the right matchup for him in his 170 lb debut because he's not the sort of guy who would really push a pace and despite being "bigger" than RDA, he's not going to try to outwrestle him. RDA fought a calm, composed and confident fight and I enjoyed watching him do work. Tarec Saffiedine was in trouble after the first round when his corner was seemingly chewing him out for zoning out. Saffiedine should be so, so much better than he is.
RDA might be a dude who would benefit from a 175 lbs because apparently he still cuts from like 200 lbs so dude's gotta change SOMETHING up.
Colby Covinvton decisions Dong Hyun Kim
Man....I admittedly fell asleep and had to re-watch this one. Covington is just one of those guys I can't get behind and it's frustrating because he's a very good striker when he wants to be. Instead he's just sort of one of those old school lay and pray position before submission guys. Just not for me and wrestling doesn't HAVE to be boring. Watch Kamaru Usman destroy guys on the ground with ground and pound and sub attempts. Cripes.
Marcin Tybura decisions Andrei Arlovski
Back to back stinkers. Not the sort of fight you want to have if you're Tybura. Marcin Tybura did what he had to do but you just want more.
Holly Holm TKO3 Bethe Correia
I'm reminded of the aftermath from Cro Cop vs Frank Mir. A great finish doesn't make up for a shitty fight but I think we all expected a shitty fight. Holm is a fighter who excels in highlight reels which can neglect the amount of point fighting/nothing she likes to do. In the end though nobody is going to remember this years from now, they'll just remember the headkick finish.

Nanobodies Market - Global Industry Insights, Trends, Outlook, and Analysis, 2018-2026
Nanobodies are considered to be one of the best technology in the fields of research, diagnostics and therapy especially in cancer research. These technology was developed from antigen binding fragments, originating from Camelid heavy-chain antibodies. These molecules do not have light chains, which is an essential part of antibody found in humans. Based on the above finding, nanobodies molecule containing single-domain only were developed, and these molecules contain functional and structural properties similar to heavy chain antibodies. These molecules have several advantages as compared to the conventional antibodies such as small-size, nano to picomolar affinities, and multiple route of administration. Ablynx, which is acquired by Sanofi S.A., is one of the leading company in this market.
Download PDF Brochure @ https://www.coherentmarketinsights.com/insight/request-pdf/1680
Nanobodies Market Drivers
Currently, no products are available in the market, but there are multiple products in the pipeline including few in very late stage of clinical trials. For instance, marketing authorization application for Caplacizumab for the treatment of acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP) has been submitted to European Medicine Agency (EMA) in February 2017. The product, Caplacizumab, is expected to be launched in Europe in 2018. Moreover, the company, Ablynx, is expected to file for biologic license agreement to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2018, and is expected to launch this product in U.S. in 2019. Both, Europe and U.S. are the key markets for any biologics including monoclonal antibodies and are expected to be the high revenue generating market for nanobodies.
Nanobodies Market Regional Analysis
Europe is expected to hold dominant position in global nanobodies market, owing to the first mover advantage. Marketing authorization application (MMA) to EMA for Caplacizumab was filed by Ablynx in February 2017, and the company expects to get approval in 2018. If approved, Europe will be the only market to have nanobodies commercially available. However, North America is expected to show rapid growth in this market, as the company is planning to file for biologic license agreement for the same product to U.S. FDA in 2018, and expects to get approval from FDA by 2019. Once approved in U.S., the company may plan to reap the maximum benefit out of it.

Nanobodies Market Restraint
Presently, there are no products in market, and more than two-third products in very early phase of development, and these products have to go through various phases of clinical development. Failure in clinical trials for these products or slow approval by the regulatory bodies in the market may prove to be vital restraint in this market.
Nanobodies Market Key Players
Ablynx (now part of Sanofi S. A.) is the key player in the global nanobodies market. Moreover, the company is developing various products with leading biology companies such as Novo Nordisk A/S, Merck & Co., Inc., Merck KGaA, AbbVie, Inc., and C.H. Boehringer Sohn AG & Ko. KG.
Nanobodies Market Taxonomy:
The global nanobodies market is segmented on the basis of product type, indication, distribution channel, and region: By Product Type- Mono-specific, Monovalent, Multivalent, Bi-paratopic, Multi-specific,.
