Ada bit the inside of her cheek as she watched the other. She wanted to be his friend again, but she was slowly realizing that might be a harder task than she initially thought. Rekindling the flame with Eclipse wasn't like most of those picking up where they left off kind of friendships. Or maybe they were perhaps never that close before. Either way, she felt more of an obligation to be his friend now. Although she could hear her father's voice now with never having an obligation to anyone. This only made her wonder how different she would be if she was solely raised as a Davis, living with both of her parents and all of her siblings. Would she be more distant and cold-blooded like her brothers? Or have a mixture of both of her parents - overall peaceful but cruel when she had to be.
"How do you feel about horses?" She asked after a bit of silence from the Tarzan comment. "I know this stable that has some gorgeous horses and some of the most breathtaking trails." She continued a moment later, "I could take you if you're interested?" Suppose at this point, she was just trying to help him break back into the world outside the bars and barbed-wired fences. Even though he has been to prison she still knows a lot of women who would still want to be with him. Either because they find him serving time attractive or they just don't care. After Sons of Anarchy and book girls obsessed with the villain, let's just say Ada would be surprised if Eclipse got rejected by anyone for any reason.
Pulling her jacket sleeves over her hands, she continued to listen to him about why it was better to stay awake whenever everyone was awake. Still, she didn't know how he survived those conditions for as long as he did and remained sane. Just as he finished the pizza arrived and Ada sat up straighter and pulled her feet under her legs. "What exactly did you do all day?" She asked. "I mean you don't have to tell me if you don't want to talk about it."
Ada moved a slice onto her plate and sprinkled Parmesan and red chili peppers on top before taking a bite. "Anything and everything." She answered and scrolled through the videos. "Entertainment, news, music, even small businesses sell their products on here." She clicked on a scare prank compilation video she shared with her sister just yesterday. Taking another bite, she handed her phone to the other after hitting the search bar. "You can look up anything you want." Though suppose it was a bit silly considering what the other went through, however, it has provided Ada with a bit of comfort.
He just gave a simple little grin at her laugh when he compared himself to Tarzan. But that was honestly how he had felt. He had spent most of his adult life locked up. Now, what was he supposed to do with himself, and his lack of knowledge on the outside of that? As Adalicia spoke, he listened. Laughing weakly "I wasn't thinking about it. But now that you mention it, I could at least try the towel part." He returned jokingly. Adjusting himself in his seat, he wasn't laughing, but looked amused, still. As Ada finally continued, her amusement seemingly dissipating, he glances away, "No, probably not. I'm told I'm very good-looking." Though he didn't really grasp how much people would be willing to be with him, even if he had gone and murdered someone.
How could he understand that? When he went in, he was a scrawny young man, a twink, as many in prison wanted to call him. He didn't stay that way, obviously, at least, he didn't let them keep thinking he was their bitch. Now, he just didn't know what to do with himself. He was a criminal, and not even a good one. Not even the worst kind. He was so sure he would never have a real job. Or any real opportunities. What poor woman would tie herself down to a man like him? Even if he wasn't bad to look at? What kind of man would he have been to let a woman do that to herself?
Eclipse stayed silent, contemplating these things, and the lives he could have lived. With a woman, he could have had. But certainly never would. Mostly because he couldn't live with the ruin his mistakes would bring onto them. He had ruined his own life, it didn't mean he had to go around ruining another person's. Even with this thought, he thought of the opportunity Ada was giving him. How he might ruin it just by being there, too. He sighed, feeling sorry for that time. But with this, he could try to be selfish. Maybe he could keep his ruination away for long enough to save himself, maybe in this he told himself, he might be wanted, without the risk of ruining a life from his own mistakes.
At her following question, one why they had them up so early, he shrugged "That's just how prison is. some prisoners work, of course, so they need to be up earlier. Mostly it's just a punishment. Though we are allowed to sleep any time during the day, the cells are open and enemies from other groups could be lurking if your not careful." He turned his head away "So your best bet is to sleep at night, like everyone else, and wake up, like everyone else. Turns out the prison gets more money if we don't all kill each other."
Where all that money was going, he couldn't begin to guess. At her response to how long he was in prison, he nodded his head "Yeah. That's most of my adult life, if not, all of it." Eclipse frowned a little as he listened to her continue. Then looked at the phone as she showed him something on the screen. Cellphones had changed drastically since the last time he had seen one. He didn't even look at the app for a moment as he took in the sight of the phone "Uh huh." He finally said, sounding confused. The app looked pretty silly to him.
"So it must be pretty good, looks…silly." Eclipse couldn't help but to say. Though he had no idea what it was called, the function seemed familiar to what a few of the newer inmates would talk about. Eclipse bites on his bottom lip, not saying anything for a moment "What's it…for?"

if there was one place ada was no stranger to, it was a hotel room. she supposed it was just an element of her lifestyle, everything was transient; every relationship, conversation, all of it. not that she was complaining really, this was the life she had made for herself. she’d carved her way into this lifestyle and now it was as much a part of her as she was of it. she took a moment to survey her current surroundings, gaze landing on the empty bottles strew along the sideboard. it was fairly standard, as hotel rooms went. well, that was aside from the sleeping musician currently occupying the king-size bed. ada crept around the room quietly, not particularly eager for the frontman to wake up. regardless of how many times she did this little dance, ada had never really mastered the art of the awkward post-sex conversation. no, she preferred to slip into the night before morning breath and a hangover became part of the problem.
slipping her small leather skirt over her slender hips, ada didn’t bother to fuss with her garments, leaving her blouse tucked. the blonde woman barely bothered to glance in the mirror as she sloped out of the room, already knowing the sight that would greet her. blonde hair strew into an unruly nest coupled with her dishevelled state of dress could only scream one thing; sex. outside the room ada shoved her hand into her handbag, rooting around in search of the elusive packet of cigarettes she knew she’d thrown in earlier that evening. “for god’s sake” she mumbled to herself, moving down the corridor slightly as she continued to search her bag. she had taken hardly two steps before she found herself colliding with another figure, sending her bag and it’s contents hurtling to the ground. “oh god” she sighed, face scrunched in embarrassment as she quickly shot to the ground, trying to gather her belongings. “i’m so sorry, i wasn’t looking where i was...” ada found herself lost for words as her gaze rose to the source of the collision, “oh my god” she murmured, her eyes lighting up with recognition. @superstcrr

open starter for ➣ everyone location ➣ Bakery + Coffee Shop thread ➣ Ada x Your Choice
Ada enjoyed the normal side of her life. Granted, she felt more on guard and constantly on edge to keep the people from her secret life, well, that - a secret. However, she still enjoyed the consistency of her ordinary and boring life. Truthfully, she performed her job well enough to keep her lives apart with much distance; she still worried about someone finding out who she was and hunting her down. Regardless, she put that out of her mind as she climbed out of the shower and got dressed to meet up with one of her only friends. No, Ada didn’t like people so much, but the others had their way of snaking into her life and stuck around.
On my way now. Ada texted the other and pulled on her brown combat-style boots over her black jeans. She said her goodbyes to her beloved dog, Jespar, and headed out to the bakery + coffee shop, where she met her friend. Ordering a Cheese Danish and an iced Pumpkin Spice latte, Ada sat at one of the empty tables and awaited the other.

Staring at her when she went silent, Kalyan waited for Ada to say anything. However when she laughed he gave a glare to her, listening as she spoke. Some mortals could be disgusting. Ada earned a laugh from him though, when she spoke on. Bringing a balled up hand to his mouth he cleared his throat and glanced away from her “Impossible.” He muttered then waved his hand “ Go on though, I live to hear of your perversions.” Kalyan grinned and let her go. When she tried to make fun of him for only using three moves he nods “ Wow. You know what, that does sound boring. Makes me wonder just how good those moves are. Since here you are, saying you love me and coming back for those three moves time after time.” He tilts his head slightly to one side and gives her a cunning little shit eating smile “ And it’s called preference, mortal…Maybe I think any other move is pointless and more so distracting from the feeling, of having me just reeming your wet cunt.”
He gave a slight shrug of a shoulder then before letting the other continue to try and intimidate him, or whatever in the hell she was attempting at this point “ Besides, you have one move, so don’t AT me about anything.” Kalyan said off handedly as she was starting to talk again. His eyes shifting around them as he watched people glance at them, giving a grin to them, before knocking his head toward them. As Ada then finished with her excuse he rolled his eyes “ Says the mortal who has needed their entire existence protected by guardian angels. Their decedents guarded by angels. Who- you got to wonder, if they even fucking like you mortals. With all the troubles you cause yourselves. It’s like protecting a male spider from a female it just mated with. Practically impossible.” Giggling, he points to her “ But thank you for your…insightful and berating ramblings. I think, however, I’ll just keep doing what ever it is I like, since it’s my life and not yours.” Winking to her then he poked a finger into her forehead.
“ And I am not a pathetic mortal. I am only partially pathetic. Exempt from such trite mortal nonsense that constricts you to your kind.” Kalyan raised his hands then in a ‘so what’ way “ So want to go to my place or yours for some boring sex?”
Why was Ada arguing about their sex life in public, well to be honest - she wasn’t sure but she did know one thing, she was tired of his childish bullshit. Though she still attempted to not let him get the best of her. At least not as much as he already had, but she wasn’t claiming to be the most mature person in the world either. “It’s pretty hard to have more than one move when you are pinned down by the throat, but when I do try to move your grip gets tighter. Which by the way, is one of your lame moves.” She tried to keep her voice down as much as possible and not let the entire roadside hear about her nonexistent bedroom excitement, but it was the irritation and anger in her voice that she couldn’t control - at least not anymore but nor did she want to. Ada Foddien was prepared to be completely done with Kalyan. Whereas before she wasn’t and she’d bite her tongue just to secure still keeping the boy-man around. Now that she doesn’t care - there was no holding her back. Not even the stares she got from strangers.
“What the hell are you even talking about?! Needing guardian angels my entire existence. Do you know how idiotic you sound when you say shit like that? Especially when you keep ranting on about how you are some kind of extraterrestrial being who I should bow down to every time you grace me with your presence.” She nearly slapped his hand away when he poked her forehead but she didn’t, it only prompted her to take a few steps back away from him. She didn’t want to be touched, she didn’t want to feel the heat radiating off of his skin when he gets close, nor get lost his ridiculously attractive eyes. She needed to stay firm in being absolutely done, whipping him out of her life and maybe…just maybe start her new life…with no sex with strangers. “Don’t pretend as you know me nor my family or what I was put through before coming to America because you can never understand my past.”
When she pulled back and looked between his eyes, she huffed a laugh. Not because she found this funny but because she finally, finally saw who he really is. “You know what Kalyan it is your life - your choice to act like a damn child. At this point, I don’t even know what I expected from you, hell I don’t even know what I expected out of myself in this.” Her breathing became harsh, rapid short breathes, she knew she needed to stay this but she had to force herself to keep breathing. “And this will not mean anything to you but I’m finally done, you don’t ever have to worry about me being in your life anymore because I’m done.” She shrugged as she backed away some more. “Have fun finding your new rag doll and have a nice life.”
Finally, she was done, she turned and walked away as fast and as far as she could get her legs to move. A sense of relief washed over her as she got lost in the crowd. Now it was like there was no one and nothing holding her back because she knows what’s she wants, what she deserves and there is no holding her back.
❛ that’s why i love you ! ❜
Kalyan stares at the other as they say that, then makes a face at them, something of disgust “ You love me? Why on earth would you do that to yourself? What thing have I done to be loved?” Raising his eyebrows then he glances up before looking to the side, trying to think about what he had been doing recently. He then laughs “ Is this because of all the fucking? That’s what you mortals tend to fall for these days. You like getting fucked, don’t you? My little slut.” Kalyan places his left hand on his hip then and smirks before leaning in closer to the other “ And now you are using code words to keep me pinned down to you. Huh? Such a human thing to do. Where is your shame little whore?” Kalyan laughed, his right hand moving up to run through his hair.

☔ (For anyone)
Send ☔ for our muses to have a spontaneous fuck in the rain
Ada x
It was hard to be a total different person than what you’re used to, at least now Ada has done it twice but there was always something nagging at her…or more like someone nagging at the back of her mind and it wasn’t who she thought it was but someone she never believed she’d actually miss. Whether it was those damn colored eyes - or the smirk that seemed to be plastered on their lips and in her mind, it was more than just her body that craved for the other but her mind ached for them as well. Only problem being, she was terrified of what they might say to her, might do if she was actually honest on how she really felt…what she really thought of them. Her own father wanted her and the only other guy that she fell for, cheated. Was she really that unwanted? That unliked? What if they wanted nothing to do with her? Minds are a cruel place to be stuck in, so, she decided to quit her pity party from staring out the window and snuggled up with a mug of coffee and actually decided to do something for a change. She just threw on some shoes and decided to go for a walk, only having one place mind - not even the threats from the thundering sky deterred her from her one-track mission. Though her pounding heart when she saw the other, might have - suppose that was when she grew grateful that her body reacted before her mind could. When she got close to them, she tugged on their arm and pulled them around the corner into an alley - giving neither of them to really react, she pushed him up the brick wall and kissed them. She couldn’t help it - this is basically the only things she knows how to do. She wasn’t good at making friends or the first thing about actually being a decent human being. All she did know was that she couldn’t make it any longer without seeing the other. If anything for one last time.

NO! reversed (Ada)
Send “NO! reversed” for my muse to find your dying muse
Ada & Kalyan
Ada always had difficulties in going to sleep especially thinking of one specific person and more than just a few occasions; and the old feelings of being so terrified of that person she just expected to die by their hands. Though in the end, it turned out to be quite the opposite; Ada’s father dying by her own hands instead…repeatedly. Even if she freed herself from the monster that haunted her dreams ever since she turned 13 - the demon still found ways to taunt her even after his death.
Now new memories of pulling the man’s body onto an old rug, and twirling it up and throwing it into the biggest trash bag she could have found - probably being the best and horrifying workout she’s ever done considering the man was 6"1 and 217 pounds of muscle. It wasn’t the easiest task but she was more than determined to get rid of this memory. That’s all it was - getting rid of his existence, not the evidence. Really she didn’t have a well thought out plan but she did know that getting rid of the body and the knife she used to kill him would be the first thing she needed to do.
However, she wasn’t convinced that he was actually dead - even if he laid still in his own pool of blood and never flinched when she dragged and dropped him a million times. Even so, she decided just in case he wasn’t dead - she’d throw him to the bottom of the deepest lake for he couldn’t swim. If she and the knife couldn’t take care of him than the water would. So, she waited till the dead of night where no one was around to see her drag the bag into her car that she had also filled with a bunch of rocks to ensure it’ll sink and drive to the furtherest…deepest lake she knew of and in a blink of an eye, she became superwoman, for she pulled the trash bag out of her trunk and threw it over the bridge and into the water with a small ease. Watching the bag sink, she waited just a few more moments to be sure it was going to stay at the bottom of the lake and once Ada knew that’s where he will remain internally - she ran back into her car and pulled off for back home. But the knife laying in her passenger seat reminded her that her job wasn’t done…yet. It was deep in the forest she went where the knife, and even her phone, melted around the wood and into the forest floor. Not one tear had dropped onto her cheek but the moment she got home and saw blood scattered around her apartment wood floor - she screamed and crashed. Throwing anything in her reach across the room as now her old memories were replaced by new horrid ones.
It’s been weeks since she’s killed her father and days since she finally removed any trace of him being there but she didn’t want to be in this apartment any longer. It may not have any physical evidence but her memories were enough to make her pack everything up. Though one last midnight stroll was what made her want to throw on some leggings, a sweatshirt over her tank top and her flats. Not really caring about her hair she just threw it up in a messy bun. Ada didn’t particularly have a destination in mind but she did find herself going to the one place she bumped into her favorite person a lot - suppose it was just a subconscious thing that she wanted to see him again. For possibly the last time; and she did see him…just not in the way she wanted. “Kalyan?” Ada’s eyes widened as everything inside of her froze as she took in a bloodified Kalyan, “Kalyan!” Her voice screamed out in a sketchy tone as her feet snapped to run towards him till she was close enough to crash beside him. “Kalyan?! Oh no…no…no…no.” Her shaking hands moved to cup his cheek, eyes stinging red. She was closer to see where the open…bleeding wounds was and just how bad it was but she kept looking back up at him to ensure he was still alive. Even if they didn’t necessarily have a relationship, the dark-haired man meant something to Ada, something that she wasn’t prepared to lose yet. Therefore she shrugged her sweatshirt off and tared a piece of her tank top off and moved it over the open wound in an attempt to slow the bleeding. Hurting him was the last thing on her mind but this was the only thing she could do at this moment. Sure she could have taken him to the nearest hospital but even the nearest clinic was miles away and moving him wasn’t a good idea, she could have called 9-1-1 but she melted her phone weeks ago and never replaced it. She was stuck here with just her shirt to use for a cloth to slow the bleeding. There was no way she was going to just allow him to die, she’d just have to work past her shaking hands and bubbled brain. “There is no way you are fucking leaving me. I won’t let you.” Though the blood kept peaking through and she kept adding a piece of her torn up shirt on top. “I have to get you somewhere….”

thornstocutyouwith:
Kalyan’s mother had been sitting at his side. If there was one motherly thing she was able to do, it was to be vengeful when someone had attacked her one and only child. Even if the both of them had been thousands of years old. Even if she had been very neglectful. She had been doing it for what she thought was best for him. As was a case most parents suffered from. Now her child hadn’t been in such a position as he was laying in a hospital bed, in a coma. A hand reached out, petting through his hair as she listen to the machines monitoring his vitals. Holding his hand in hers she traced her thumb over his palm. They had been chilly, his entire body had not regained it’s divine heat, making her think that he was slipping away. Staring at him she narrowed her eyes before looking toward Ada as the girl came into the room, introducing herself.
“ Ada? You…found him. Ah. Well, thank you for getting him to this hospital in an efficient manner.” Pulling away from Kalyan she sat back in the chair sat at his bedside. Still staring at Ada, she continued “ Most people I can’t imagine, would.” It was fair to say that Kalyan’s mother might have had issues with mortal’s. Though having been attacked by them for the last few thousands years, do to her son’s divine predicament. After all, the Nephilim weren’t favored by the angelic. God had wanted them hunted down and completely destroyed. It took a lot of toll to get them both this far. But there had always been little chances, like the one that had allowed this to happen. Sitting up straight, she offers a smile to the other woman then “ I get a sense that you are not sharing the entire story, Ada.” The woman had skipped to, bluntly ignoring the custom of letting Ada keep her secrets.
Of course she didn’t know much of her son’s friends. But she was thousands of years old and a necromancer, or a witch…Whichever one was more convenient at that moment. In any respect, she could tell a liar, or someone hiding the entire story of an incident. Drumming her fingers along the arm rests of the chair she nods “ My son can take a lot of damage– Who ever did this to him,…Must have one tough son of a bitch.” The older woman went on, not letting Ada try and justify herself. She simply, didn’t care about a simple mortals needs of secrecy. Holding out a hand she gestures to the other chair in the room “ Go on, sit. I’m sure he will love more than just me for company. After all, he can’t even stand to live with me, still going through that rebellious phase. I suppose.” At Ada’s question she blinked, thinking over the doctors words before giving a small nod.
“ They say that he has a very high chance of that. But if not…He might have a damaged spine.” She gave a hapless shrug, however. Seeing as wounds weren’t a big problem to the divine. The woman looked back toward Kalyan then “ It seems he’s more attuned to making enemies, more than friends. Such a silly boy he has always been. Now he’s a temperamental man, probably gets it from his father. Or is trying to hell, even get any sort of attention from that wretched man, by showing that he’s not so soft as I am. Probably because his father is disgusted by what I am not, for him.”
Intimidation was a funny thing, someone could scare you into admiration of them or just completely scare the shit out them. Kalyan's mom? Well, let's just say she can see the personality similarities but with the older woman, it was impossible to make eye contact with her whereas with Kalyan - she couldn't stop looking in his eyes. Don't get her wrong he still held the same intimidation that his mom holds that makes Ada avert her eyes, but somehow it was just different intimidation at the same time. It was when she called the broken girl out on her bullshit about knowing him a bit more than just somehow who conveniently passed by his bleeding out body, though she was glad that she also changed the subject before she told her to take a seat.
Ada only smiled at what the other said. "I don't think I'll be the better company." Considering the last Kalyan and Ada encounter of a screaming match, in public, no less. The last thing she was sure he didn't want was to see her. She still pondered what she ever expected to come of them, why she was so drawn to him, why she had craved to feel his touch practically all the time. The browned eyed girl looked over his defenseless, sleeping body. He seemed so much more peaceful when he was sleeping. Though her attention averted back to his mother when she spoke out to answer her question on if he was going to make a full recovery.
Ada imagined Kalyan nothing less than perfectly invincible because yes, he always acted as such but watching him mere death, or to Ada, it was as such, changed her outlook on him. He was still a dick - that was a given but then again. So was she.
Looking over at the woman as she spoke about her son making more enemies than friends, Ada could only smile because it was something apparent - to everyone but hearing someone else say it other than her, and it being his mom. Only confirmed her thoughts of him wanting nothing from anyone. However, the small grin dropped at the mention of his father - the man she only assumed to have been in the waiting room. Kalyan got his mother's intimidation structure but to Ada, Kalyan got his father's better than everyone stand. At least she knows now that she wasn't the only one with father issues, but clearly different ones.
Failing to realize Ada resorted back into her own head, the only way she found out she did - was the last thing she said. 'Probably because his father is disgusted by what I am not, for him.' So, Kalyan didn't exactly say those words but still implying being something much more than human. Just as the sense of uneasiness washed over her. There was definitely something not adding up. She thought it was Kalyan just being Kalyan! Acting as if he was God's damn gift to the world, but what if he was actually being serious? Of course, she didn't have an inkling as to what he really is but she was only now believing that he was...is something.
It was enough said that this family interested her a little more now, though, even Ada knew that she had to be careful - walk on her tiptoes around them. Looking over Kalyan, she started to chew the inside of her cheek, trying to be careful with the next thing she said as she looked over at the other, "Do you believe in angels...guardian angels?" The only thing she could remember was Kalyan telling says the mortal who has needed their entire existence protected by guardian angels. Suppose this was her weak way of verifying of what he was saying...might be true.

glastonbury was undoubtedly the biggest event in ada’s social calendar. not only did the festival allow her to capture pictures of musical royalty in their element, it also afforded her the opportunity to mingle with the blue bloods themselves. photography had started off as a hobby; something to occupy time after she had left school. never particularly interested in academics, ada had taken a gap year after she finished college, choosing to spend her time attending gigs to snap pictures of her favourite acts. however, what initially started as a hobby soon became a way of life as musicians began to notice the petite blonde that appeared at their shows. ada would be lying if she said she didn’t like the attention, in fact, she loved it. the way she could count on at least one member of a band inviting her to an after-party of sorts, it almost became her full-time job. a groupie who was moonlighting as a photographer.
the foxes were one of her favourites. they were superstars, even being in close proximity with the band made you feel like you were something special. she’d followed them to so many gigs she thought she might’ve lost count. ada had added them to her collection like neatly pressed baseball cards; the bassist, the drummer, even one of the roadies at a show a few months back. but, much to her chagrin, the ever elusive frontman always seemed to evade her - already caught up with a coke-fuelled kate moss wannabe by the time ada sought him out. not this time, no. the photographer was determined to get what she’d been after. just as she’d planned, the adrenaline fuelled singer wrapped up the show and began to walk directly toward her position just off-stage. moving to bump into him slightly ada feigned surprise, “harrison! what a set” she gushed, tucking a flyaway strand of blonde hair behind her ear, “i got some amazing shots, you should have a look”. @superstcrr

closed starter for ➣ @thornstocutyouwith location ➣ Salem Alleyway thread ➣ Ada x Your Choice
.
The night air wasn’t cold, but the wind that brushed past Ada’s cheeks and tangled in her hair had a sharp chillness to its whips. Ada was on a mission she didn’t understand, and after what she discovered, she didn’t know if she wanted to know. There was a quickened step in her pace, afraid she was spotted and wanted to create as much distance between herself and that creepy abandoned warehouse she never wanted to think about, let alone step foot in again. She looked over her shoulder as she neared the only safe space she could think of that was heavily populated most of the time, Salem Alleyway. It is a hole-in-the-wall, laid-back bar/nightclub kind of place where she worked as a bartender when she first came from Russia.
Once she threw open the door to the bar door and tucked herself in the crowd, she began to transform, taking down her brown beach wavy high ponytail and shrugging off her black leather jacket she tied securely around her waist. Ruffling her hair through her fingers, she shook it out to make it look a little wilder. Ada was more sure than not that she wasn’t followed, but once she slightly changed her appearance through the crowd, she felt better about not getting detected. Settling at the back bar, Ada relaxed into one of the seats, and the bartender flashed her a smile as she prepared Ada’s usual - straight whiskey. Smiling her thanks, Ada breathed a breath she didn’t realize she was holding till she looked over to her side, and the breath was stolen.
“Святые Святые!” She gasped in Russian. “You scared the shit out of me! How long were you standing there?”

Watching as he moved away from her Adom gave a cocky little smirk. Glancing back toward the mess of human remains that had remained in front of them however he frowned again, a serious look coming on his face. He couldn’t afford Ada’s bullshit to distract him too much and gt them both killed. He had watched things for a moment before moving to sneakily get out of the way from any sort of line of sight.
As Ada had finally gotten over her shock and made her way to the garage Adom had looked over to her and then nodded “ Well, you could have a few points too, Ada. If you would stop thinking you are better than me and just you know… Concern yourself, with yourself in that field. We do not have fucking time for you to have a rebellion period, right now, in your life. I am not your god damn parent. I am someone who has been helping you to survive.”
Adom glances back toward the other side of the area they had found themselves in “ Those robots there, they are phase one. WE need to get out of here before phase two, because that phase is worse than being a puddle on the ground.” He nods his head toward the man from before “ Like that guy…You see any way out of here?”
It took a little longer to get over her shock that she’d like to admit but when she did she stood to her feet and joined Adom, not looking him in the eye as he began to speak. Her arms folded loosely against her chest - it only took him 5 seconds in making her feel like a 5-year-old. It wasn’t as if she blamed him for making her feel such a way, they were in a literal war zone and there wasn’t time to have self meltdowns. Ada has problems - that’s something she isn’t afraid to admit but she really was trying to change, it was just figuring where to start and how to fix it properly without going back to bad habits…again. Though right now she knew it was the best thing in both of their interest to stay quiet and not put both of them in danger…again. However, there was one thing he did say that brought her curiosity to look up at him. “Why are you helping me?”
She wasn’t trying to start anything really, just really figure out why he was helping her. It wasn’t as if they were long long friends before all hell broke loose. Was it just out of the goodness of his heart? Or was it just because of Ada subconsciously pleading for his help? It wasn’t just for her safety - it was an effort…an attempt to make it closer to her sister, to ensure she was safe - to keep her safe if she could. Even though currently, she was failing in keeping herself safe…if it wasn’t for Adom really. Though all she needed was to get a little closer and then part, taking notes from Adom on how to stay alive in this living hell. Literally.
Unfolding her arms she shrugs slightly - “At this moment - not particularly. Roaming the streets isn’t a good idea, like sitting ducks with our heads cut off. Maybe trying to get to a high point and try to remain undetected? Try going underground, perhaps?” Looking over her shoulder she was afraid of another robot hearing them and coming back, but when she saw nothing she looked back at the other. “So, long as we keep moving and you allow me to tag along. I will remain quiet and follow your lead.” Raising her hand a little and hold up three fingers in a scout’s honor gesture.
“ this is good advice but don’t tell me what to do. ”
misc sentence starters
Staring at them, Adom had to blink at the almost absolutely idiotic words he was hearing. He then laughed slightly “ So, let me get this right. My advice is good, but you don’t want me to tell you what to do. Oh, sweetheart. If that were always the case. You’d have probably been dead or in prison by now.” Giving a stern look to them he narrows his eyes “ But I guess you are right. I shouldn’t tell you what to do.” Just as he said that, a loud boom could be heard from someone firing a shotgun and blowing someone’s intestines out all along the concrete they had been running on. This was about ten feet away from where Adom and the other had been standing “ And just think, if my advice hadn’t of come, that would be you right now.” To add insult to injury he made an explosion motion with his hands. Then went back to hiding as the robot that had just murdered one of their own started to march passed the corpse on the ground.

“Was I speaking a language you don’t understand or something?!” Kalyan snapped at her question, irritation in his tone. From his perspective she had no right to be upset with him. But instead of telling her that he decided he was just going to leave and go do something until he wanted to talk to her again. If he ever felt like it. So he as he lift his phone off the table he moved to turn back but caught the look on the woman’s face as he turned.
When Ada said she wasn’t trying to control him he rolled his eyes “Then what the hell are you doing? Because it’s fucking confusing the shit out of me!” He snapped, brushing off what she had looked like a moment ago. He shift toward the door. But paused once again when she suggested talking. Looking to his phone he made a face then looked at her “If I wanted to murder you it wouldn’t be with a fucking cellphone.” Kalyan said bitterly before turning to her and crossing his arms over his chest, guarded “Fine. You want to talk. Talk. What the hell is going on with you?”
Sighing heavily, Ada looked at the other and the door behind him. "You might as well be because I have no idea what you're talking about!" Though she just wanted to scream louder, she tried to contain her emotions knowing that she even though she despised her father - she was still her father's daughter.
She was watching him leave and everything inside her was screaming at her to not let him go. Which is way out of character from her. She never made someone stay, she just never cares enough. In fact, she was the one ushering them out instead of making them stay inside. Though she couldn't help but roll her eyes a little as she looked away when he told her he wouldn't murder her with a cellphone. Comforting very comforting but she's seen people getting killed with a paper clip. She's seen what people are really capable of and she knew that if he really wanted to - he could murder her just with his fists.
Though it was the last thing he said that made her completely freeze, mouth gaped open a little and her eyes shifting between Kalyan's. What was going on with her? Who was she becoming and why the hell was she chasing him? Releasing the breath she was unaware she was holding she finally dropped her eyes to her feet till she once again sucked in a breath before walking back to sit on a nearby coffee table. Though she continued to look at her feet till she finally shook her head and telling her self....fuck it.
"I...like you Kalyan. There's something about you that just,...draws me in." She said as she looked back up at him and now never looked away from him. Though she could feel her voice getting caught in her throat. "But- there's something in my past that holds me back and....I don't know maybe... Maybe I have been controlling you without even realizing it. I...." Sighing once again just to keep her heart from harshly pounding against its cage, she ran her fingers through her hair realizing now it was hard for her to stop confessing to the one person she knew wouldn't feel the same way. ".... You're right, I shouldn't try to control you but trust me my life is far from being a perfect little box." Ada finally stood taking a step back further away from him and away from the table. "I've never felt this way about anyone before but I still refuse to be that person to beg someone to stay when they clearly don't. So, you can leave and never talk to me again. Not take my...sort of apology and call me a weak human for actually growing feelings for you. I am sorry that you think I've been trying to control you but I'm not sorry for how I actually feel about you...”

Ada watched Kalyan blankless not knowing where this was coming from. Though Ada has seen her fair share of men just losing their cool out of nowhere towards her, something was different with Kalyan. Almost like this time, she did do something to push him over the edge. Though she struggled to remember what she did or said to make him think she was trying to control him. “What the hell are you talking about Kalyan?!” She narrowed her eyes at the other when she eventually could figure it out. Her eyes shifted the object he held up and instantly had a flashback of her own father wacking her with a trophy she won and thought it would make her father proud….which she was dead wrong about.
“I’m not trying to control you…” She said though taming him right now in this moment did cross her mind. “Whatever I did or said, can we please just talk about this like adults and not with potential murder weapons in our hands?”

31. “You don’t control me.”
“You don’t control me.” Kalyan hissed coldly before Inhaling he closed his eyes a moment, calming himself before tossing his hand up and then reaching over to grab something of his up “I don’t fit into your perfect little box you made of what you Wanted me to be. Instead realize, people, or hybrids, are not meant to be placed in boxes other people make for them. Realize I’m not a fucking pet! And you know what, that pisses you off. That you can’t tame me, like one.”

Watching the other girl he could tell she was getting tired of him. Which he didn’t blame her, even his own mother didn’t understand him enough to get what he was talking about. Which often led to her absolutely abandoning him, even from a young age. Because he was always just too much to deal with. Drumming his fingers he watched as she plugged her headphones back in and glanced toward his food before looking away as if he wasn’t bothered. But everything usually was bothering to him. He felt suddenly isolated and unwanted. Which was making him a bit more irritated?
When Ada actually did say something he watched her with curiosity as she spat her words out at him. She had no understanding of what it was like to be forced to interact with so many moronic humans in the thousands of years he’d been alive. If she even had ever bothered to ask him more about himself, maybe he would be more willing to talk to her about life, his life. But that, of course, was not what their relationship was. He didn’t see anything much of her, and she seemed to only seem him as a toy to get fucked by. That did not make a friendship. Kalyan did not know what that made this. And the fact that he had only run into her too, as he had seemed ‘to bug her’, was probably a secret way of telling her he would like to hang out. But of course, humans being so out of tune with anything else around them, Ada had missed this cue.
Sulking for a moment after Ada had left he played with his food for another moment before standing and walking out of the building as well, vanishing right out of sight in a split second. A second later he materialized in front of Ada and smirked at her before reaching out and grabbing her by the neck, his thumb pressing into her throat “I would never go and cry to my mother about anything, Ada. And I think you and I need to have fun. After all, don’t you like it more when your toys bite back?” Kalyan gave small hiss before jerking her close to him “Maybe this toy has been biting a little too softly?” Narrowing his eyes on hers before he threw her to the side and lifted up his right wrist, biting deep into the skin and drawing his half angelic blood. Ripping his mouth away his started saying something in tongue, and threw his arms out letting the blood drip onto the cement under them as he continued to cast.
Ada has no idea what was wrong with Kalyan. She probably will never find out. Yes she was dying to know why he was so against humanity. Even more so than herself. But she wanted to know why if he had such a problem with her than why the hell was he still around her? Still came to her as much as she went to him. However, Ada will never be the person to ask why. Why was he so against people. So against her? Why was he completely closed off to people? Why he closed himself off when at times in his eyes she could see he was desperate for someone to reach out to him - to give him a helping hand. She’d never ask those questions. Why? Because she comes from a background where only questions lead to your death. Painful death.
Sure she deeply, very deeply hoped that eventually Kalyan knew well enough to trust her to open up but he never did. Instead all it was was negative things. Honestly Ada couldn’t do it anymore. Sure she used him as she was sure he used her, but deep down she craved to have that deep connection with him that seemed all to obvious she was never going to have. At least not with Kalyan.
Home wasn’t far but it wasn’t exactly around the corner either. Her mind was set on pulling out her toys tonight, what it wasn’t set on was Kalyan all of a sudden appearing out of thin air in front of her. “What the....” Her eyes went wide as she studied him for a few seconds before looking back at the dinner. Sure she wasn’t exactly jogging but she put some good distance between her and the diner and in order for Kalyan to just show up in front of her, he would have to immediately follow her, which she knows he didn’t. Besides she didn’t see him out of the corner of her eye either.
When she was going to look back at him, he already had his hand wrapped around her throat and his thumb pressing into her throat. “Kalyan....what the hell..?” She dropped her iPhone, causing her headphones to fall out of her ear and just in time to actually hear what he was saying. Sure they rough housed before but there was a thin line between a pleasurable choking and a life threatening choke. This was the latter.
She didn’t understand him - mainly because all her blood was rushing to her ears, once he threw her to the side; she began to cough uncontrollably. It wasn’t long till she could find the strength to lift herself off the ground but when she looked up - it was to see a more frightening Kalyan. She couldn’t understand what was going on or what he was saying now all she did know was that when people draw their own blood, with their teeth and start talking in tongue. You don’t stick around. So, as soon as her legs stopped shaking she ran as fast as she could. As far away as she could.

A few of Ada's father's men went to prison themselves, but the only person she was exposed to before Eclipse, was her bodyguard - aka her shadow she was also trying to stay hidden from. Though he never talked about it with her, oftentimes just responding with it sucked whenever she asked him about his time in prison. Considering, that her shadow was involved too much in her life, she didn't feel as guilty about asking him about his life including the time he spent in prison as she does with Eclipse. Whatever he didn't and did want to talk about, she wasn't going to press him about it.
Adalicia laughed when he compared himself to Tarzan. "Just don't go swinging on vines with nothing but a towel cloth on your waist. It's still frowned upon." Though the visual made her think...perhaps a little too hard. "Although I don't think many would mind the sight." She lightly joked. For whatever reason, that visual made her think of horseback riding and how badly she wanted to return to it, however, when she went to offer to take him some time, she saw the wince he made. Yes, she wanted to ask what that was about and if he was okay, but she reframed herself - knowing it was probably a thought or memory he might rather keep to himself. Argo, she stayed silent.
Keeping her back somewhat to the entrance, Ada could still see what was behind her from the mirror above the counter. So, far she remained hidden from her shadow and the people she potentially pissed off. Sure a Davis is always supposed to be charming, but there were times when she was more of a Ferdinand than a Davis. Either way, she pulled her hat back out and placed her jacket back on. She knows she'll have to hear about knowing how to mouth off to people as well as ditching her bodyguard - again, but she was tired of having someone attached to her hip when she's already proven she could handle her own. But her father remained a paranoid old man. Maybe when her older brother takes over, things will change and she can finally be a proud Ferdinand and Davis.
Ada couldn't imagine a good night's sleep would ever come out of prison. On top of that to be woken up early, couldn't have been fun. She gets cranky when she's woken up now and then at 4 in the morning to go on her morning runs, she couldn't imagine doing it every day to spend the time confined and around...not the best kind of people. Just out of nerves of not knowing what to say, Ada began to crack her knuckles. A tick she wished she would have grown out of, but clearly, she hasn't. "What did they have do with getting up so early?" She asked, hoping it wasn't the wrong question to ask.
Jesus. Twenty fucking years. A new appreciation crossed Ada. Twenty years that turn most men completely men and he still appeared to be sane. At least on the front, he did. "Right. Okay." Reaching for her phone again, she opened up an app she gets the majority if not all her news from - TikTok. "If you haven't heard of the app already, it's one of the most popular. Anything you want to know about or see will more than likely be on here." She said giving him her phone. The majority of her feed is current events, funny videos of animals or people getting scared, books, witch stuff, arts, motorcycles, and a few touches of people going apeshit. "Embarrassingly it's entertained me enough times where I spent nights awake scrolling on this app." She laughed into her drink, but unfortunately, it was the truth. As much as she loves reading, or spending time on her bike, when she's not working at either jobs Ada often finds herself on TikTok to pass the time and escape her reality.
At her humming her humming, he glanced over, not sure how to take that. Though he told himself to ignore it. Even if for the last several decades that was not always an indicator that something good was about to happen. He was outside of that place now, those who did not live in the prison system didn't often understand how life could be inside a well-functioning one. As Ada spoke he nodded his head “Yeah. I didn't get a lot of visitors, of course. So most of the news I got about the outside was, uh, minimal.” He wasn't total shut away from it all, of course. Some contraband could be obtained to help a little. Of course, there was also the new stations and with some permissions, he could get on the internet. He could even have personal stuff, within reason. But that didn't encompass the all of what had been going on in the last several decades, but more, what was mainstream.
“Right. Fun. I feel like Tarzan after he's discovered, heh.” Eclipse commented as he looked around, not sure if there was any better explanation, he was quite young when he went to prison, and had spent a large part of his adulthood behind bars. Where, he had to learn a lot of things, usually the hardest way possible. It was like going into the army, only absolutely not to quite the same extent. There were some schools you learned in prison that the army didn't actively teach. If one could understand the meaning of this. Where the army taught more so how to fight wars. Prison often taught people how to be better as criminals. Or, if you got stuck with a particular group of people, how to be a better person, as far as respecting those with more power than you had. Or you know, you could choose to be stabbed and have the entire shit beaten out of you. He winced at the memories of how mouthy and disrespectful he was when he first got in.
Grabbing his cup he wasn't sure how he would be if he never even got caught to begin with. He didn't think he was that bad, before. Just lost, and having issues with his life at the time. He didn't like where he was at, and was trying to get out in the easiest, most lucrative way available to him. That meant getting in with drug dealing and the petty gang activities that usually latched itself onto it. Given who he was as a person, then, it was easy to make leaps on how that all looked when he finally got to prison. He wasn't received too kindly, which probably pushed him more toward activities that added more to his overall sentence, which wasn't even that bad initially.
Eclipse moved to sit down as she finally spoke again, apparently having gotten the message back about the job, he supposed “Ah. Well, they usually had us up early in prison. So. I'm usually up pretty early.” Not that he couldn't take naps, naps were highly likely when you spent most days sitting around doing fuck all with your life a lot of the time. Especially after several years of being inside. Eclipse toyed with his cup a bit before moving to rest his head in his right hand, placing his right elbow on the able as he did “Florescent lights and prisoner noises don't really help, either.” He added with a small sigh. After a moment, as she asked what he missed, he shrugs “Twenty years of life.”

Humming she began to think, how much has he missed. They weren't necessarily close, then again Ada didn't have close friends just people who knew her, and she was either nice to or wanted to plant an endangered plant on top of their body. Normally there wasn't an inbetween with her. Usually. Perhaps as of late, it was just because people were more irritating than normal. "Huh. We have a lot to catch you up on." Ada pressed her hands together and tapped her fingers together. "Which should be fun." She smirked at him before turning away and going up to the counter to order his pepperoni and sausage and her own tomato, basil, and pepperoni pizza with some chicken wings, crazy bread, brownies, and two drinks.
Paying for the food and handing one of the cups over to Eclipse, she pulled out her phone and texted her boss, Ryan, about Eclipse. She wanted to make sure that this was handled first thing and as soon as possible. Not just because she wanted to make sure he got the job, but because whoever had this position was someone Ada needed to trust with getting things done, and from what she remembered about the other, he was always efficient in what he did. Which now come to think of it she never really knew what he did before, suppose now it makes a bit more sense. Surprisingly, Ryan messaged back and she smiled turning the phone towards Eclipse. A text message from her boss reading.
If you can have him at the Marine Center by 10 am, I'll give him an interview on the spot. No application needed.
"I hope you're an early raiser." She said sitting down at one of the tables, waiting for the food. Though she knew the interview was more of Ryan's formality but in the end he was going to be hired. Whether it was because he owed Ada a favor or because he needed that position filled in order to get Ada off his case. "So, what exactly have you missed?" She asked taking a sip of her drink and giving the other her full attention.
He had made a mistake, perhaps it had to do with his being the youngest of eight, or that now, no matter how great his IQ was, at one hundred and twenty, he had no wisdom at the time of his arrest to prevent it. He probably didn't even have that, now. Being smart wasn't a guarantee against doing things wrong or being stupid. Perhaps it was simply because his mother was an addict, herself. She was the one that raised him. So he never had much of a chance. The fighting between his parents may have been the cause. Even. When he split, taking a few of his siblings in the separation, Eclipse had been left mostly in her care. Perhaps it was that closeness to it, that made him indifferent.
Because someone he loved, loved it. Because someone he loved, only felt good, with drugs. Perhaps it didn't help much, that as he was the youngest, their were twenty years between him and his next oldest sibling. Making him feel more isolated from everyone else. Perhaps it was the death of his sister, that turned him down that road, maybe it just didn't help, even if he were going to walk along it, anyway. He was only ten, then, could it, he wondered, have had that much effect on him? Yes. Someone he loved had been gone forever, never to be seen again, it had hurt. It would always hurt. But that was not why he sold drugs in high school.
But it didn't help, that loss. The bad things would not stop, for him, he grew to realize as he chose to drop out of school, entirely, eventually. Thinking he was now financially secure enough to support himself. He was so selfish back then, he had grown to realize in his years in prison. His behavior then, was not helped by the fact his brother got sick, very sick. A terminal cancer that ate away at him, tearing another from his grasp, cold and uncaring. Perhaps that's when the hole in him caved in, entirely. Why he went from just selling, to diving into the life entirely. He couldn't even bring himself to say goodbye as his brother laid dying. Too much of a coward, he instead turned to ganglife. Then, after all this, not long after his brother's death, he was caught.
At first, he hated prison, planning escapes, that kept him in a bit longer than his original charges. It took him a while to finally grow and let go of his problems. But clearly, he still loved money. More so now that he had found it much harder to get it. He supposed. Watching as she wrote down the details, he nodded as Ada spoke “Cool. Tomorrow.” It was better than his current job, by far. Even if he should have stayed away, because this could break his parole. But, again, it was money. Something he didn't really grow out of liking, no matter how little use his brought him in prison for the last couple decades.
Taking the note, Eclipse glances over the words that were scribbled onto it, tilting his head head a little bit “Yeah. Better than what I got going now. As long as it's not, too bad.” He laughed a little bit, folding the note in half and tucking it away in a pocket. As she continued to walk, so too did he. Walking with her he gave a nod “Whenever's a good time.” Walking up he watched her pull open the door and invite him to go into the pizza place first, it was, he supposed, kind of unnatural. But this was, he had to remember, the way of the modern age, now. Rather than arguing against it, he just accepted it and walked in. Not really having much issue with it, in honesty. As she came in after him he turned his head as Ada spoke, glancing toward her and shook his head “Nope. Shit sounds disgusting. I've also been in prison while this…trend skyrocketed. So.” Making a clicking sound with his lips he turned his head away “Just gonna stick to the classics, sausage and pepperoni.” Perhaps it was all just his fault, and no one else's, he decided. He was always trash. The universe didn't want him to waste any time making it obvious to others, though.

Ada bit down on the inside of her lip, knowing he was right and there wasn't much she could say to help change that fact of a black mark on your record no matter what you were arrested for, marks you as a not-so-employable person. Selling drugs wasn't how she remembered Eclipse. He is a great guy, from what she remembered, and it was a disappointment that people were so quick to classify him as a possibly problematic person because of his record. Then again, her record wasn't so clean herself, she just hasn't gotten caught - yet. Perhaps guilt was another reason why she offered her place of work, but honestly, she sees the other as a good friend and knows that he'd be great at anything he was hired for. Plus the marina was in desperate need of the data entry position to be filled. So, hopefully, it can all be a win-win.
Smiling when he agreed, Ada straightened up a bit as she reached into her jacket and pulled out a notebook and pen she keeps on her at all times and wrote down the marine center's address, the phone number as well as hers.
"I'll call him tomorrow about you. I'm normally there every day, so, you can stop by whenever or give me a call. But I should have an answer for you tomorrow about it." Sure, she has a certain charm when she wants something from someone, but her boss would truly be lost without her, and with both of those facts - all she had to do was tell him that hiring Eclipse would be in the best interest of him and the company, he'd do it without looking so deeply into his arrest. "Again, it's not gonna be the best of jobs, but it does pay $22 an hour with good benefits." And it'll relieve the pressure off of her doing her co-workers' jobs.
Furrowing her brows, she bit her lip. "Right. Sorry." She cleared her throat and continued to walk towards the pizza place. Suppose she temporarily forgot this was just as much his home as it is hers. "I'll definitely be taking you up on that offer." Ada loves food, and anytime she is able to try new food, she'll jump at the offer. "After you." She said after she pulled open the door. The smell of the pizza hit her and she couldn't help her mouth salivating. "Tell me you are not a pineapple on the pizza kind of person because I may have to rethink our friendship."
He notice he had lost her for a moment. Giving a confused look as she made a face, he let her talk without saying anything himself, first. But grinned, giving a shrug. He knew, for him it was. Selling drugs was worse, than other heinous crimes in the eyes of the system. But equal in the eyes of the rest of the world. He might as well have gone on a killing spree, as much as sell drugs. Of course, his age at the time didn't seem to matter either way. Eclipse frowned a bit as she goes on "Yeah. People like me. More than not. Once it's known. People start acting like I'm going to be selling any day, to their kids or something." Which when he was selling, years ago, he did. So he wasn't too mad about that. Kids were stupid and easy to get paid from.
But he wasn't a teenager anymore, and all the gang members he once knew now ostracized him, just for getting caught in the first place. Which wasn't just unique to him, either. He, like anyone as young as he was then, was easy to manipulate into picking up selling, It was, seemingly, the best way to get cash for the things he wanted, and not have to go work at a minimum wage job. He could make thousands a week, compared to hundreds. Of course he would choose this, ignoring the risk. But he wasn't one of the lucky one's that never got caught. In the years he had been he was giving hollow promises, which killed him even more. Eclipse continues to listen to her, not sure what to think. He quirked an eyebrow, wondering where her offer was going "Okay."
"I'll take it." Again, he was falling into another organization. It was just that easy. Rather than working at a common job, as a line cook, or dish washer, or fry cook. It was the same line that got him into selling drugs. Now, what would be replacing the selling of drugs part, data entry. Eclipse quirked an eyebrow "Can't be hard, right? I'm in." He just couldn't wash one more dish. Seeing she was looking around, he took note of potential danger around them, here. Turning away as he went back to walking he smiled as she spoke on about the pizza "I know." He tells her, after all, he had been living here his whole life. He shrugged "I'll have to show you mine, sometime." Eclipse continues to walking, heading down the direction she told him to go.
