O verbo abocanhar é o mais indicado para a notícia que segue. Sim, o Grupo Opportunity abocanhou cinco dos principais troféus do Prêmio Destaque Ademi. O braço imobiliário do banco saiu ainda como Melhor Empresa do Ano da cerimônia, realizada na noite da última terça-feira (28), no Vivo Rio, no Aterro do Flamengo, zona central da cidade.

O grande vencedor foi representado por dois de seus sócios-gestores: Verônica Dantas e Dório Ferman. Cinco empreendimentos imobiliários da empresa foram contemplados na cerimônia, organizada pela Associação de Dirigentes de Empresas do Mercado Imobiliário.

O evento foi prestigiado pelo prefeito do Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, e por importantes gestores e CEOs de empresas como a tabeliã Fernanda Leitão, do 15º Ofício de Notas, e por Andreia Repsold, presidente da Lide Rio, grupo que reúne os principais líderes empresariais do estado.

Ah, Ademie, where to start with her...

Quick note before most of the stuff: she holds the role of 'main character'! When the cast wakes up, she is the first one to do so :]

When she was 5 sweeps/11 years old, an accident resulted in her right leg being amputated above the knee and her subsequent culling. During her subsequent years on Beforus, she was often heavily restricted and harshly punished for the crime of desiring her own autonomy - sure, this may not sound like the coddling ideal of Beforan culling, but any system that treats some people as not people will lead to abuse. Sometimes it was physical, including the witholding of her (culler-picked and deliberately kinda shit) prosthetic leg.

It does not help that despite minors being legally unable to cull, the violetblood who culled her pushed the responsibility onto his descendant, who is her age. For two sweeps, she was functionally an object under the control of a kid her age, and they don't like each other.

The silver lining was her fellow cullee Meiloa Zartan, although their relationship is... complicated.

She also broke/lost part of her horn at some point during those years, but refuses to talk about how it happened. In Fractured Phantasms, horns are a conduit for troll psionic abilities, including rust telekinesis. She can use telekinesis, but it's been unreliable since the incident.

She tends to approach most people with extreme caution and is very cynical and blunt. Holds a distaste for superstitions and blind optimism, greatly preferring to focus on material reality. She used to be a lot less harsh, and used to believe objects are sentient as a religious thing. The former changed as a response to trauma and abuse, and she was forced to give up the latter when she was culled.

Her trauma severely affects her relationships with others. She also - understandably! - despises infantilization and views herself as more mature than she actually is. She was treated like a helpless kid for so long that she has overcorrected and will not allow others to treat her/fully acknowledge herself as her actual age. Intellectually, she knows it is true that she was 11 when it started. However if she let it fully hit and felt how young she was/is, it probably would not go well.

She needs some form of therapy, to be a teen, and for her abuser to no longer be in her life. She's not getting any of that.
