The scene where she throws out the biggest roadblock for them in their society's morals - her being "tarnished." She tries to do it indirectly:
And his response is "I don't care, I love you whatever way."
It is so huge for anyone, but let alone for a woman viewed as irretrievably broken and worthless by her society, to be told "you are enough as you are, nothing needs to be changed. It's the essence of you that I love not anything external about you."
I don't think she can fully believe it but also it's too important for her not to have it all out there, bluntly. Her bravery though!
His response! Because his heart breaks for her pain but other than that, it does not matter to him.
The way that his response is centered on her pain, on understanding how it hurt her, on providing her comfort. Not like literally everyone else, centering their own feelings and societal expectations on something that happened to her. On making what happened to her all about THEM.
The way he says he will take care of her! But also the way that his biggest, most explicit, more unswerving confession of not just love but devotion and commitment comes right after she shows him her utter unworthiness in their society's eyes....aaaaa!!!
Screaming!!! At his asking first!!!!
Nobody does it like them!!! Nobody!
