The second annual Sailor Moon Villains Week will take place the week of October 6-12, 2024 (the second week of October) !

You may post your works on Tumblr, AO3, Deviantart, or anywhere you choose so as long as you link them in your Tumblr posts if they are off-site. All ratings are allowed, so long as NSFW work is properly tagged and follows the rules of the platform it’s posted on. Be sure to use the "read more" option if necessary (if you post a full fanfiction on Tumblr, to hide NSFW content, or potentially triggering content).

You can add your AO3 works to our designated collection for the event smvillainsweek2024. You can also add your works to our DeviantArt group. Feel free to also use the hashtag #smvillainsweek24 on Twitter or Instagram too.

Submissions should focus on at least one villain from any Sailor Moon media (manga, 90s anime, musicals, live actions, Crystal) at their core along with the daily theme. Ships are allowed as long as they contained at least one villain within the pairing. It doesn't have to focus on or even include a ship, given this week celebrates the Sailor Moon villains. Basically, as long as you're writing/ drawing/creating something featuring a Sailor Moon villain, it's all good.

I have gotten a few comments about my use of color, and I really have to give credit to the 90’s Sailor Moon anime as a major part of my art aesethetic; especially the villains. I spent a lot of my childhood going to my local library to print out sailor moon pictures to tape to my wall for me to draw from, and i always loved all the villains best.

The 90’s series had such cool and unique character designs and fashion, amazing bright colors, and everyone slayed.

A distant future in Crystal Tokyo. I like to think that many former villains like the Amazon Trio and the Shitennou would eventually be reborn and lead happier lives under Neo-Queen Serenity's reign.

These were originally drawn for a fanzine project that ran into unforeseen problems and has still not been published, so I've decided to publish these and move on with my life. They look very outdated now, being so old, but I still rather like them regardless. Top one is from 2022, the bottom one from 2021.

I met Fish-Eye in 7th or 8th grade when the company that became Tokyo Pop started a new magazine 'for girls' and included this era of the Sailor Moon manga that had not yet seen the light of day in North America.

Fish-Eye was cute. With hearts in all the dialog bubbles, long nails, high heels, a flowy long ponytail, Fish often did the required evil-doer work in the best dresses in the animated series, had frantic evil crushes on (and then mostly totally enchanted) the male victim characters of the week, and was a man.

At the time, this fascinated me but also caused some dissonance I could not shake off. For a while, I held two different versions of Fish in my head - the real one, and a hetero version who who wore 'male' clothes (I was a very young teen). The latter eventually became an OC I didn't even bother giving a proper name to.

Meanwhile, real Fish-Eye still fills me with such Good Feelings exactly as he is.

Fish-Eye is part of a series of drawings of characters that left a big mark on me and Gender.
