Did I forget to mention Medusa? ...the boys want all of the attention when it comes to...snacks. She does her best to get hers tho!

They follow her around when it's not snack~time. She rules their every webbed step unless you got a handful of quackers nearby.

August is somehow the most wholesome yandere around. He just wants to hang out, is super sweet and polite, and has chickens, which are tiny dinosaur murder machines. He's just a bean, I love him

His favorite farm animals are ducks. Muscovy, Mallard, Abacot Ranger, American Pekin-If its a duck breed, he'll love it, and want to bring some over for you to pet if you'd be so gracious.

All right! Long post! *claps hands* I did a whole bunch of toying with ideas for Crowbra Kai (like that’s an actual thing lol), especially the ones I hadn’t really sketched yet. And ended up liking the sketches and lining and colouring them directly :D

Species-wise, Eli is a song sparrow (very common in North America, particularly the Pacific Coast), Demetri a chicken (no pun intended - he just gave me 2017 Gyro Gearloose gangly vibes), Miguel, Chris, Carmen are dogs, Tory a prairie falcon, Mitch a panda, and Johnny, Daniel, Amanda, Sam, Robby, Nate, Bert are all ducks of the “regular DuckTales kind” (American Pekin duck, mostly). (Eli’s badges are Gojira, the Exploited, and Slayer. Check ‘em out if you like heavy metal and punk rock!)

Oh, and by the way of music and because I had wanted to include the two main dorks -

Does anyone here know about ducks? Our white ducks, guessing American Pekins, have been disappearing from our lake, I'm trying now to keep up with the last lady left, endearingly named Aflac, but this morning as I was feeding her I noticed that she had something that looked like a rash on the back of her neck

I just want to make sure she's fine :(

Could you tell us your opinion on pekin bantams? Just from an image since I'm guessing you likely haven't seen one irl. Not to assume, theyre just a British breed is all. But I love them they are so round I want to know what you think (the tumblr indoor chicken master)

You are correct as an American we really dont have many Pekin bantams here but i do know a lot about them as they are common house chicken breed. They also come in one of my favorite chicken colors which is Bobtail.

They are kind of similar to cochins besides the fact that they are true bantams and supposedly unrelated despite people outcrossing to cochins lol this is actually a huge debate in the poultry world. Some people consider bantam cochins and pekins to be the same breed.

They are VERY susceptible to predators and can have pretty extreme foot feathering, their short and tilted posture also makes it hard for these birds to keep themselves clean. Mud, rain, snow, the moment a high quality pekin is exposed to these their feathers can get matted and disgusting very easily.

That being said they are known for being very docile so in the UK and other places they are a common choice for people looking to have a house chicken as they are not as rambunctious as other breeds. Personally i do not like their extreme foot feathering as it can cause discomfort and pain especially as the bird ages but i have seen some online with more moderate foot feather like my brahma bantam Beeper. They are primarily an ornamental breed and ornamental breeds are going to require more careful management then utility breeds.

Hens can be very broody and Roosters can be "protective" the problem with very fluffy breeds like this is without vent trimming it can be hard for the rooster to fertilize eggs which means the roosters who are the most aggressive maters are the ones who pass on those more aggressive genes. This can be an issue if you believe the roosters will be completely docile.

You see this problem in silkies, wyandottes, cochins, and even orpingtons, basically any fluffy butt breed. Its important for breeders to only use docile roosters and avoid breeding pens with multiple roosters with no vent trimming. Its not really a problem you see in carefully bred birds but its always important to mention because it can be a problem with hatchery birds.
