alright its finally time to give an update :3c

so first off: my moms plants went back outside and since then ive had all my carnivores (plus the orchids, which we decided id keep) in a temporary set up but today i finally got them to their new home; the milsbo!

milsbo is an ikea cabinet somewhat famous for its use as a greenhouse--i havent fully converted it and am still waiting for some parts to come in the mail so it wont be done fully until next week but! this is pretty good so far. these are alternate shelves for it with air holes that will let humidity pass through and air circulate so i was finally able to put plants in today after they arrived! heres the set up:

as you can see lights are still outside because my power strip for the inside hasnt come yet but they should work fine from the outside + its still by the window--im not worried about light for now. power strip will also be good for some fans to keep the air circulating inside. you can actually see the desk i have been using in the back lol. you can also see i have more orchids than i did before--i wound up buying two very fancy lady slipper orchids which seem to be pretty happy so far! will keep it updated.

obviously theres some space problems here because of how large moe is, so honestly ive been thinking of giving it a big chop. i havent fully decided yet but i will be mulling it over, and if i do i should be able to make things a little less cramped in there. excluded is my ampularia which has scale, somehow? i dont know how it got scale but nothing else has, so its quarantined for a while until im absolutely sure its free, and then itll go in that bottom space beside moe. youll note this leaves very little space for my humidifier--because if all goes well the milsbo will retain enough humidity to not need to constantly pumped into the air--meaning im fucking free of this oppressively wet and hot room! this is the biggest and best selling point of a cabinet, space limitations aside. im not sure itll work as-is--i might need to make a large pebble tray for the bottom, and i may have to weather strip the gap between the doors, but figuring out what to do there will have to wait and see based on how well it retains moisture overnight.

anyway heres some updates on the plants themselves: i finally got moe to make pitchers again! having it under lights helped a ton so im keeping in mind how necessary lighting is. heres some examples:
