(Romans 12:12) If you find yourself discouraged by the ever-changing news on the Coronavirus, disheartened by social media, or overwhelmed by financial difficulty, you’re not alone. Encouragement For Our Souls

19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. 20 Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

- Hebrews 6:19-20 NLT

Every single day there are stuff that can shake our souls isn't it? Stuff that troubles our hearts. Maybe it's a strained family relationship or perhaps it's a challenge at work. You are not alone because this is something that I go through too. Where do we find our encouragement when our souls are weighed down?

This is an encouraging verse because it reminds us that as believers, we have not just anchor but a strong and trustworthy one. An anchor is used to hold something steady. Isn't that encouraging? In all that we go through, we have an anchor that steadies our soul. But an anchor is only effective if what it is anchored to is strong. Verse 19 also says that this anchor leads us into God's inner sanctuary. That's awesome because that means we are in Daddy God's presence all the time. We enjoy everlasting intimacy with Him. 

Beloveds, when times get tough and our souls are weighed down, where we do we find our encouragement? It is in intimacy with our loving Daddy God. He is not a distant powerful being merely observing us humans going through our day to day. But we are with Him in His inner most sanctuary and He longs for intimacy with us! But perhaps the stuff that is weighing your soul down is a result of your own making. Check out verse 20 because it says that Jesus has gone into God's inner sanctuary for us. Wait a minute! But Jesus is God's Son. Yes, but at the cross, Jesus laid down His life for all our sins. When He rose again, He did it for us! When He went into God's inner sanctuary, He did for us! Today, we have boldness to come into the presence of Daddy God because of the finished work of Christ. 

So maybe there are stuff that are weighing your soul down, true encouragement is found in His presence. Let's come boldly to Him and simply allow His love to refresh our souls.

“We love because He first loved us.” -1 John 4:19

Today, God revealed to me how His love surpasses my imperfection.

I was constantly telling Him my struggle; and that I’m having a hard time relying on Him because of my weaknesses and flaws.

Then gently, and wonderfully, He told me: “Let me love you; not just the beautiful parts, but also the ugly parts.”

That revelation was so beautiful that it brought me to tears because all this time, I was trying to prove myself to Him through my actions and I had a mindset that if I fail, God won’t accept me. Yes, I know it’s wrong and I didn’t realize that I was actually living in that way.

And after seeing how messed up I am and how deep His love is, all I could do was to be in awe of Him. The love that He has lavished on us is so unrelenting that it keeps on pursuing us despite the fact that it completely knows the depths of our hearts! And the greatest response that we could ever do is to receive it with glad and thankful hearts and let His love overflow in our lives.

What a beautiful invitation it is! It is God’s desire to love all of you and when I say all, it includes your weaknesses, flaws and brokenness. God loves you just the way you are! And He will keep on pouring it on us! He will never get weary of showing you how much He loves you!

Oh it’s so amazing to fall in love with Him; to fall into His open arms that will keep on embracing us despite our failures and imperfection!
