Tim Wright

Marble Hornets/Creepypasta

Age: 29

Disorders: Paranoid schizophrenia, seizures, anxiety, depression

Personality: Some may call him a broken man with how he sees the world but its more like he is cautious and tired. He has been through a lot in the past couple of years and his whole world has been shaken. Between seizures, massive bouts of depression as well as hearing and seeing things others can't he is more than a little stressed. He finds himself in odd places with no memory of leaving his home and it causes him to become extremely paranoid. He has a distrust for people and also doesn’t trust himself to be around them thanks to his ‘curse’ or ‘attachment’ to that weird faceless creature that peers into his home from the treeline. 

Headcanons

Had a massive mental break when his schizophrenia started to show in his early 20s causing him to be admitted. He stayed there for over a year before they got him on the right medication to help

While there he started to lose time and have gaps in memory resulting in him becoming confused and more than a little freaked out

Because of this he tends to be on edge when it comes to medical professionals as well as medical buildings and equipment

He is currently seeing a therapist, however, and has been working through his issues and learning coping mechanisms to assist him in everyday life. They have also been looking into his memory gaps but Tim refuses EMDR treatment to really look into it

There is a stray cat that has been trying to worm its way into the house and commonly walks with Tim on his evening walks

Lives just out of town in a rather run down home but the rent is cheap and he doesn’t mind a fixer upper

Is afraid of the dark and has a keychain flashlight for if he is outside when the sun goes down. Sometimes he loses himself and ‘wakes up’ somewhere out in the woods behind the house

Hasn’t stayed in touch with his college friends and is a bit of a recluse. Not leaving the house now that he has a work from home job

Has been trying to quit smoking but has found himself addicted to vaping now instead. Still not that great but he is trying

Tim has the ‘slender sickness’ which is assumed to be the reason behind his seizures but there is no true way to prove it really

Has a sort of Jekyll and Hyde situation with Masky as they are technically the same person. Tim just doesn’t know it other than his memory loss but even then he doesn’t think about himself having a whole different state of consciousness. His only clue is that white mask that keeps showing up in his house no matter how many times he throws it in the garbage

Personality: Masky is a man of few words and some could call him the quiet type. The man doesn’t seem interested in others most of the time and only speaks his truths without concern of how the other person will take it. He has a knack for showing up to places seemingly out of nowhere and has a habit of staring as he sizes up whomever he has found. Masky works for/against the Operator/Slenderman in a constant push/pull relationship with the creature. He is often trying to scare others away from the creature’s haunting grounds but it doesn’t always work. He will never stop trying.

Headcanons

Has quite the temper but is not physically aggressive towards others unless his life or wellbeing is on the line

Does not work for the Operator/Slenderman by choice but has a pretty strong connection to it. Often times his time is spent trying to get away from the creature rather than actually do any of its dirty work

Is ‘technically’ considered a proxy to the Operator/Slenderman though he isn't a very obedient one which causes a lot of headache

Loses his sense of self and free will when the Operator/Slenderman is too close and results in him doing the creature's bidding. This mostly includes stalking and kidnapping though he has had times where he has to get violent

Has the ‘slender sickness’ which results in a lot of coughing and seizure like fits though he is not diagnosed with seizures (he would never go to any medical facility to get it checked out)

Knows of some of the other proxies though he only ever works with one nicknamed ‘Hoodie’ though he doesn’t really feel one way or the other about the rest

Masky knows about Tim in their odd situation though he doesn’t really care about him. Masky is only ever thinking of himself and his own needs rather than an alternate state of consciousness he has no communication with. He also doesn't WANT any communication either

Could you explain the premise (or anything else you'd like to share) of The Abyss to me, to the perspective of one who knows basically nothing about creepypasta? ;-; like I know the names of the more known characters and that's it lol. it sounds cool and I'd like to know a little more though, if you feel ok with that :0

Of course!!

Creepypasta is an Internet term that's similar to copypasta, copypasta being a wall of text that would copy and pasted to troll or meme people. A creepypasta is the same premise, but it's a horror story. A lot of memorable characters came out these stories for better or for worse. Characters like The Slenderman, Jeff the Killer, The Rake, etc.

Then there's Marble Hornets, which is a web-series inspired by The Slenderman, and it's really awesome, I would recommend it to those who haven't watched it. I most recently was able to finish up all the seasons and it really is amazing to watch.

So, I was a fandom creepypasta kid in middle school, so I was very attached to the softer interpretations of these characters. There was more comedy to the short narratives that were told with them, I also found them to be used more as vigilante characters.

There was an aspect that I really feel spoke to a lot of younger people, which was that someone was coming for them, to help them and take them from the situation that was out of their control. I know that was true for me, even though I didn't necessarily need saving, I knew that there were people who needed help. Help that at eleven years old, I couldn't provide. As a helpless and outcasted kid, these characters, however silly it may seem, helped with feeling seen and understood.

Anyway, that's sort of what The Abyss takes inspiration from, added on top that I think I can make a story out of anything. I started working on it at the peak of the pandemic, so I probably also felt helpless in that situation as well, not to mention that's when my tics got to the point where it was debilitating.

Anway, context aside, I'll explain what The Abyss has going on at this point in time (the story has been changed so many times, that's why I say that).

So, it's mainly taking the big creepypasta fandom idea that all the creepypastas live together in a mansion with The Slenderman and expanding on it. For The Abyss, it's turned the mansion into whole another dimension. This dimension has been dubbed The Abyss (you can see where the title comes from).

It's a place for nature's freaks and society's rejects. They're used for the agenda of nature's biggest freak and mystery, The Tall Man, The Slenderman, The Boss, The Operator, whatever It's called. Most of the individuals who seek refuge under It don't know It like the people that work directly under It. Most of the people there can be compared to being in military reserves. They will be called upon if they are needed.

So far, the characters that get called on (mostly by Briar) from the reserves are Ben (BENDrowned), Cody (X-Virus), Anthony (OC), and Jeffrey (Jeff the Killer) (but Jeff just kinda joined on his own accord).

There are other characters that were pulled out of the reserves by The Slenderman are OCs and a few other canonical characters, such as Kagekao, Bloody Painter, Laughing Jack, and more once I start actual progress on plot and such.

Then there are the people who work directly under the command of The Slenderman. These are the Proxies. They communicate with It telepathically in the form of visions and nightmares and do whatever job It needs done. They get a brand in the shape of the 'No Eyes'/Operator symbol from Marble Hornets somewhere on their body and are forever at the mercy of The Tall Man.

These characters shown here are Roque (Rocky), Briar-Rose (Briar), and Toby (Firecracker) (I'll explain why he's not Ticci Toby some other time).

Other characters that are Proxies include characters like Natalie (Clockwork), and whoever else I'll put in that category.

Then there are the characters who exist outside of The Abyss, like Eyeless Jack.

That would be Homicidal Lui, Jane the Killer, Nina the Killer, and most importantly Tim Wright.

The plot starting out will be a crossover/continuation of Marble Hornets, following Tim as he goes cross country getting hunted down and stalked by members of The Abyss. Tim was a very important asset for The Slenderman because of his ability to spread The Sickness. Too important to lose. It has been tracking him down for however many years and now it's gotten to the point where It has to start using Its Proxies and Reserves to get this one guy.

Masky and Hoody Headcanons

Welcome to Arby’s I’m back on my bullshit

But first I gotta make some things known before I talk about the HCs-

Firstly, every HC here takes place AFTER Marble Hornets. Which means Hoody is dead, and Masky (Tim) thought he was getting better

There will be no mention of any other MH characters outside of Jessica

The events of MH are canon and did happen in my HC universe I’ve got for the creepypastas

Masky and Hoody =/= Creepypasta and I will never claim that they are, but it’s near impossible to ignore the effect these two have had on the fandom. I don’t think any other slenderverse character has gotten popular enough to cross fandom borders like these two have (plus the MH creators are fine with this kind of crossover anyways)

Expect canon typical violence/gore being mentioned

After his corpse was dumped, Hoody was damn near immediately resurrected by Slender

After Tim left Jessica behind and tried moving on, shit got bad again. Like, real bad

The Masky persona was coming back, first of all

And he was seeing Hoody, aka Brian, his best friend, pop up in places he shouldn’t be

As far as Tim was concerned, he was supposed to be dead, so why was he seeing Brian again?

Hoody wasn’t taunting him the same way Totheark used to do

Tim noticed pretty much immediately and was very suspicious, cautious, and confused

Hoody was instead beckoning him. Inviting him, for something

The whole time Brian is under Slenderman’s control, trying to get Tim to break far enough that he’s susceptible to mind control too

Brian is fully conscious for it btw. Like he’s seeing his best friend who thinks he’s dead (he was) and he’s screaming internally because he can’t tell Tim to run, to get as far away from him as possible

The whole dying and then being brought back by the monster him and Tim had a hatred of makes it reeeaaaalllyyy hard to fight back for control of your own brain

The stalking from Hoody continues to the extreme it was in MH

Like he’s breaking into Tim’s house and shit to steal his Masky B Gone meds

The entire ordeal puts Tim in a really bad place

So bad he tried to take his own life to get it all to finally stop

Bad idea bro, now Slenderman pilots your corpse too

The first few years of being a proxy are rough

Like, they both fought so hard to get away from this thing, Slenderman, and in the end it was futile

Neither hold any resentment for each other. Brian knew that everything that happened wasn’t Tim’s fault, and Tim knew Brian wasn’t in control of himself for all the stalking bs that was going on

Solidarity between bros once again, friendship restored

Slender would send them out on odd missions at first, instead of carrying out killings, they were tasked with reconnaissance instead

Killing was reserved for another, The First

They barely ever caught glimpses of the first proxy, but Brian once saw someone in a bloodstained white hoodie leaving the mansion that Slender decided to call home

Both were tasked with going out and looking for others, a loose term Slender gave them

They personally hate calling him that, and often revert to calling him the Operator instead

Over the years they would collect intel on various freaks; an eyeless demon, a murdered child, a haunted video game

They only provided information, Slender was the one that would do things with said information

They don’t know why it tasks them with things. They don’t understand its goal. They just follow orders and hope one day the control will slip enough and they can break free and escape at last

Needless to say, they’re the two who are on the tightest leashes out of everyone else

Being the favorite dogs have endless downsides

The least amount of physical and mental freedom out of anyone else

Tim and Brian is when the voices go quiet, when there’s a rare occurrence of the Operator giving them a break. Masky and Hoody is the norm, working mode, the state they’re most often in. Sure, there’s personality and a person still in there, but not as lively as it is with Tim and Brian

Relays missions, tasks, information to the others

Immune system buffed to high hell. Slenderman wants them alive, dammit

Not immune to slender sickness tho

Nosebleeds and coughing up blood is a given at this point

Neither have had a headache or migraine-less day in over a decade

Honestly I’m not even sure they sleep most of the time

They are very much dead, but Slenderman is doing everything in its power to keep their bodies functioning like a normal human’s

If a normal human could survive gunshots, bludgeoning wounds, stabs, frostbite, and other things that would normally kill your average Joe six times over

Jeff and the others may have to go against Eyeless Jack to raid his painkiller cabinet, but bro willingly gives that shit away to Masky and Hoody cause he knows how much agony the two are in all the time. They’re not doing it out of pity, more so obligation.

Similar to Ann’s relationship with Jason, Eyeless Jack feels the same way for Brian specifically. Brian was the first one to find him after his unfortunate ritual sacrifice for [REDACTED].

Jack bit a whole fucking chunk out of Brian’s arm and he didn’t even flinch

Brian was coherent/enough of himself to somehow talk Eyeless Jack down from eviscerating him and Tim

Brian was basically the first person to. Sort of. Restore Jack’s “faith” in humanity

i.e. Brian shot him in the face because Jack came at him while he was trying to politely talk with the 5”8 cannibal demon and then sat and calmly talked with them while the gunshot healed

They’re besties who beat the everloving shit out of each other, it’s great

Tim doesn’t have that going with anyone specific but he’s the guy who stands by and does a thumbs up while watching Brian and Jack spar

Both of them are basically the tired parents of the freak brigade

Sorry did I say both? I mean Tim is really the mega tired dad of everyone

Like yeah Brian tells people what to do and yells at Rake to get off the counters and shit, but Tim is the guy who’s “in charge” of the house

Chore charts, organizing a weapons room, lists of needed supplies/food/etc., he does it all

Sally absolutely loves being the baby of the house and loves it even more when uncle Masky and Hoody spend time with her when LJ has to go away

Because they are the unofficial dads, both have almost zero bullshit tolerance

Made a mess of corpses in the foyer? Cleaning the entire first floor for a week

Don’t wanna go out and do what Slenderman told you to do? It makes an example out of Tim and Brian why you should always listen and obey—wait what-?!

Sorry guys. Ben is being stubborn again? Looks like it’s Tim’s turn to be skewered on the taxidermied moose head in the living room

Both are very used to it by now, and after years of it being a near weekly occurrence, the others have gotten pretty tired of having to step over their slowly regenerating bodies and have started to pull their weight more

Not a big deal though since Ann and Jack deal with their injuries

Speaking of, the two of them + Ann go out into human society a lot for various reasons

They usually split up once getting to a town, but they know about Ann’s human friends. Because Ann’s human friends are friends with their human friends

Somehow neither has been introduced to the other’s group yet, and Tim and Brian like it that way

Tim often goes into town beyond missions just to hang out at parks, libraries, anywhere he can catch a break and pretend to be a normal human again

Brian has fully given up on that ideal and has now embraced the new life

Both would rather not kill, but the Operator demands sacrifices

If it’s any consolation, both try really really hard to make sure innocent people get a quick and painless way out. A point blank shotgun shot to the head is a surefire way to get the any % speedrun into heaven

Did I only mention innocent people? Yeah there’s a reason for that-

The Operator had noticed very early on their qualms with killing, and thus makes sure to assign victims who have committed atrocities in the past. It fills their heads with images of what the victim has done, and with a little bit of mind control convincing, Tim and Brian are suddenly fine with torture

You’d think after the deed is done they’d go back to feeling sick and upset about it, but nope

Mind control via the eldritch father you never fucking wanted is one hell of a drug and mind changer

The longer these two are in its presence, the longer anyone is in its presence, the less their own morals matter to them

Bashing some guy’s brain’s in is just another typical Tuesday for them. Enough to the point that Brian complains about how messy they sometimes get. “Dude his brain matter is all over my shoes. Gross”

Tim doesn’t complain, he’s not really a complainer anymore. He does get annoyed when victims fight back, though. Why can’t people just lay down and die willingly so everything can get done quicker?

Hey on the bright side they’ve gotten really efficient about killing! Most of the time it takes other residents a few days to complete a mission. Masky and Hoody will finish with 4 in a single day and still have time to pick up McDonald’s on the way home

Like most of the others, they only carry cash on them, as well as fake IDs when out in human society. Can’t have that shit traced back to an actual bank account yk?

Tim still smokes. Heavily. Probably even moreso than he did in MH

The kings of unhealthy coping mechanisms

Bad thoughts? Tim drowns them out with enough nicotine and alcohol in his system to kill an elephant. Brian does more or less the same by challenging people to fights/sparring matches. Can’t focus on the mental hurt if the physical hurts more

Seniority and the fact they look put-together enough is why most of the mansion residents have respect for them

Are close/get along with: Ann, Eyeless Jack, Liu, Sally, and Jeff, surprisingly

Are neutral about: Ben, Helen, Puppeteer, Nina, LJ, Jason, Kagekao, Jane, Clockwork, and pretty much everyone else

Hates Slenderman for very obvious reasons

Of course, I am familiar with the story and I've viewed a couple of clips or whatever but I just... can't watch it.

The thing with me is, I'm weird because I don't like horror or scary things. I have anxiety. So it makes no sense that I have hyper-fixated on creepypasta. Like ????  @ my brain, what are you doing.

I think that's mostly why my blog is like the cutesy relationship & humor stuff that you see on here.

And I'm just like:

when it comes to the fact that creepypasta is, you know, creepy/scary/etc. 

the other weird thing is like, I don't love reading anything gory but I do enjoy some good horror reading now and then.

but I canNOT watch anything remotely scary. The movie "ET" freaks me the fuck out. I do not fuck with him at all, and he was the subject of many, many childhood nightmares. Watching anything remotely scary gives me such bad anxiety 😭😭😭

You know "Jaws" and "Jurassic Park"? Yeah, those are MY "horror movies." That's the level of scary that I can take before my anxiety starts acting up too much. And I can't watch them alone, I have to be with family/friends cause I'm a baby 😭

so, since I know that marble hornets is tied to the horror genre and there is most likely going to be gore/jump scares/frightening imagery, I can't watch it.

The only reason I write for Masky and Hoodie is because I know the fandom versions, if you know what I'm talking about, and I have grown quite attached. I take some elements from what I know of marble hornets, but their characters are largely based on the fandom versions or just whatever shit I come up with for them.

therefore, I can't fulfill this request. honestly? sounds like a really good idea so please take this to somebody that will write this for you. but i feel bad trying to write this myself because I don't know the whole story and it feels funny trying to write something that I don't know enough about, you know? Because with  I can do what I want with the characters of Masky and Hoodie because they’re marble hornets but have also been sucked into creepypasta fandom, but I am unfamiliar with Alex as he is purely marble hornets. Does that make sense?
