Australian Open 2019: Men's bracket, schedule, scores, and results
Can Roger Federer defend his title at the Australian Open? We have all the info you need to follow the tournament, including viewing and streaming info as well as results.
The Big Four aren’t quite done, but men’s tennis may be seeing a shift in the coming years. For now, going into the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, some of the usual suspects are favored to win it, but the field continues to get interesting as Roger Federer gets older and guys like Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are derailed by injuries.
Murray’s injuries are particularly worrisome, as the player himself has suggested that this tournament could be his last, regardless of how badly he wants to make it to Wimbledon this year.
Nadal is playing as well, and says he’s at 100 percent, but he dropped out of a tournament just a few weeks ago. That means Federer, at 37 years old and a six-time winner in Australia, is considered the favorite.
He’s also the two-time defending champion after winning the tournament in 2017 and 2018. Novak Djokovic would be considered Federer’s top competition at this point, but the field contains a slew of young players who are hoping to make that next step, whether that be cracking into the top 20 and doing damage past the third round or guys inside the top 10 still searching for their first Grand Slam title.
Djokovic is coming off winning the last two Grand Slams, lifting the trophy at Wimbledon and the US Open in 2018. Alexander Zverev, the world No. 4, is still searching for his first real opportunity at doing damage in a slam, as success in the big four tournaments has eluded him. He did, however, earn the top prize at the ATP Finals in November.
Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev are two of the young guns to watch, as both are making their way up the rankings and giving the top guys some trouble. Kevin Anders, Marin Cilic, Kei Nishikori, Grigor Dimitrov and many other familiar faces will also be in action in Australia.
Below is a full bracket, schedule, and results, which will be updated throughout the tournament.
Viewing information
Not much has changed in watching the Australian Open for those in the United States, though there is the one downside of some matches and courts that used to be free on WatchESPN are now locked behind the ESPN+ paywall. A seven-day free trial of ESPN+ can be found here. Television coverage will primarily be handled by ESPN and ESPN2, while there will be many free matches and courts streaming on WatchESPN and ESPN3.
Unless stated otherwise, times ascribed to dates in the evening which end in the morning are ending the following day.
Through the first three rounds, play will begin around 7 p.m. ET on one day and will end around 7 a.m. the following day. “Monday” at the Australian Open is Monday proper for those in Melbourne, but begins on Sunday evening for those in the United States, with play wrapping up on Monday morning. Did you manage to follow all of that?

Watch: Murray saves match point vs. Kohlschreiber with ridiculous drop shot
World No. 1 Andy Murray looked set to follow Roger Federer to an early exit from the Dubai Tennis Championships on Wednesday. Murray dropped the first set of his quarterfinal match against 29th-ranked Philipp Kohlschreiber in a tiebreak, got pushed to another breaker in the second set, and had his early mini-break erased before Kohlschreiber set up a match point. But serving to stay alive at 8-9,…

US Open 2017: Bracket, schedule, and scores for men's draw
The 2017 US Open is here, and we have schedules, viewing information, and full results for the men’s bracket right here.
The men’s draw at the 2017 US Open, the year’s final Grand Slam, was an interesting one. We didn’t get the Rafael Nadal-Roger Federer semifinal, with Federer falling in the quarterfinals, but Nadal was able to win his second grand slam of the season.
Nadal beat No. 28 seed Ken Anderson in the final, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to win his third U.S. Open title, and his first since 2012. Nadal, who also won the French Open in 2017, has 16 grand slam titles.
The Spaniard outlasted a draw that was missing some of its biggest names. Second seed Andy Murray pulled out of the tournament less than 48 hours before the start of it. Murray is dealing with a hip injury and could not participate.
Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Milos Raonic, and Kei Nishikori were also out of the running for various reasons, primarily injury.

US Open 2017: Bracket, schedule, and scores for men's draw
The 2017 US Open is here, and we have schedules, viewing information, and full results for the men’s bracket right here.
The men’s draw at the 2017 US Open, the year’s final Grand Slam, is an interesting one. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have been drawn into the same half and can meet in the semifinals, but other than those two, the tournament is missing some of its biggest names.
That’s especially true as second seed Andy Murray pulled out of the tournament less than 48 hours before the start of it. Murray is dealing with a hip injury and could not participate, and he joins a long list of top seeds who won’t be able to play.
Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Milos Raonic, and Kei Nishikori are also out of the running for various reasons, primarily injury.
So it seems to be down to Federer and Nadal, who have never met at the US Open. Federer is enjoying a nice career resurgence and has beaten Nadal the last four times they have faced each other, including in the finals of the Australian Open earlier this year.
The bottom half of the bracket should be interesting, with guys like Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who would have met Murray in the quarterfinals, and Alexander Zverev, who would have met Murray in the semifinals, benefiting from the lack of big names.
We’re going to have daily coverage of the year’s final Grand Slam, including brackets, viewing and live streaming information, schedules, and results, all of which you can find below.

US Open 2017 live stream: Times, TV schedule and how to watch Saturday online
Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will both be in action on Saturday.
The third round of the 2017 U.S. Open should wrap up on Saturday, provided there are no issues with the weather. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Karolina Pliskova are the top seeds and big names to watch on the day.
Play will begin at 11 a.m. ET and will be broadcast by ESPN2 in the United States. That television coverage will run through the whole day, concluding around 11 p.m. in the evening. There will be live streaming of all courts available via WatchESPN in web browsers and via the ESPN App on various connected devices.
Nadal, the top seed, has had an easier go of things than Federer, the third seed. Nadal will take on Leonardo Mayer in his third-round match, while Federer will run into his first seeded opponent in No. 31 Feliciano Lopez.
Federer won both the Australian Open and Wimbledon (while skipping the French Open to keep himself fresh — Nadal won that) but has been pushed to five sets in both of his matches at the U.S. Open thus far. He is at the end of a long and grueling tennis year, even with him skipping the clay court season. He’ll need to be at his best to get through Nadal in a potential semifinal meeting.
The winner of that meeting would likely go on to win, especially with the lower half of the bracket being decimated by injuries. Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Kei Nishikori, Stan Wawrinka and Milos Raonic all missed the tournament due to injury, while Grigor Dimitrov, Marin Cilic and Alexander Zverev were eliminated in the earlier rounds.
Below is all the information you need to know to watch Friday’s action as well as a full list of men’s and women’s singles matches. As always, you can find updated brackets and results for men’s singles here and women’s singles here.

US Open 2017 live stream: Times, TV schedule and how to watch Day 3 online
The US Open continues on Wednesday and we have all you need to know to catch the action.
Rain delayed a large portion of play at the US Open on Tuesday, so Wednesday’s action will feature a mix of first- and second-round matchups. A handful of women and only a couple of men managed to make it through on Tuesday, so there is a massive list of singles matches to be played on the day.
Alexander Zverev, the fourth seed for the men, will be in second-round action against Borna Coric. Zverev is somebody to watch as he’s in the bottom half of the bracket, essentially alone now that Andy Murray bowed out due to an injury, joining Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka, who aren’t participating.
Play on Wednesday will begin at 11 a.m. ET, though only live streaming on WatchESPN for web browsers and the ESPN App for other devices will be available at that time. Television broadcasts begin at 1 p.m. on ESPN, and will run through 6 p.m. From there, ESPN2 will carry coverage through 11 p.m. in the evening.
In addition to Zverev, another five top-10 seeds in the men’s bracket will be in action. Fifth seed Marin Cilic will take on Florian Mayer. Seventh seed Grigor Dimitrov will face Vaclav Safranek. Eighth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will take on Denis Shapovalov. Ninth seed David Goffin has a match against Julien Benneteau, and finally, American John Isner, the 10th seed, will face Hyeon Chung.
On the women’s side, Maria Sharapova will be in action after taking down the second-seeded Simona Halep on the tournament’s first day. Sharapova is unseeded and will face Timea Babos, another unseeded player, on Wednesday.
Venus Williams and Garbine Muguruza are the biggest names in action for the women. Muguruza, the third seed, will take on Ying-Ying Duan while Williams will take on Oceane Dodin.
Below is all you need to know to watch the action on Wednesday, and a list of every singles matchup that involves at least one seeded player.
