KHOC WEEK 2024 Day 2 - Past

the things for my OCs are now the only ones I do, so, off with the annual @khoc-week appointment.😂

The protagonist of this post should have been Aspis, my little Anguis kid, but since Aspis is deeply connected to another character, it's probably better that I start with some headcanons I have about the Foretellers. Between those and the designs, at this point they feel a bit like OCs too. even tried to do a Nomura-esque version for the occasion.

The assumption is that the Foretellers were one of the many attempts on the chessboard of the Master of Masters to face the Darkness. He gathered under his protection a group of lonely and desperate kids, with a tormented past, acting in the grey area more than out of affection. He bet on them. He sought out children who possessed specific flaws of distinct deadly sins, trained them, and made them his apprentices on a journey designed to make them overcome their "sin" and use it as a virtue that will be essential to their future "roles." For example…

Gula, who lived on the streets as a feral child, has known hunger, and food is also how MoM attracted him. Gula suffered from bulimia and nervous hunger for years, before managing to direct his anxiety towards logic and study, becoming an analytical boy "hungry" for knowledge.

Ava, sold away by her once rich family fell in disgrace, wanted EVERYTHING back. everything she had lost, or that she wanted but could no longer afford. Mom was the one who has bought her, she's too young to understand the extent of the family tragedy. that's why she later was the perfect one for the task of choosing any wielder she desires or attracts her eye, without limits, collecting the Dandelion.

Aced has always used his muscles to win easily, alone, without effort and without ever really try to improving himself, until carelessness cost him his tribe and an eye… he is now a loyal follower and uses his strength to defend the group, the arm of the law under Ira.

Ira, balances strength in combat and intelligence, which are also the qualities of his union. stubborn and rebellious, as an angry teenager he ran away from home, losing his path. He was the first one found by Mom, and he owes him his life. He learned to control his anger because of him, obtaining determination, willpower and the courage that made him choose as Leader.

Luxu carried the burden of being an unwanted child, the result of an affair, from an early age he felt cursed by that because of a big birthmark on one eye that vaguely resembles an X. shy, insecure and reserved, people pleaser, until life with his apprentice companions brought out his mischievous and creative personality. His being a people pleaser made him incredibly attentive to the behavior of the people around him and the ideal candidate to infiltrate among people and live their lives, one after the other.

Finally, Invi.

like all the other foretellers, her name is more of a title. Her real name is Nivea, and she was isolated from her village because white hair was considered a bad omen. The resentment of having to survive alone, with a little brother to support, he too with lighter hair than was welcome, soon turned into Envy, gnawing at her insides every time Nivea stopped to observe the normality of other families, lurking and hating everyone but her brother Aspis.

MoM saved both, proposing a deal to Nivea: he would take care of them, they would have a roof over their heads, education, a future, as long as she studied under him.

With no other real choice, the children accept out of desperation.

Nivea and Aspis initially lived together, but as they grow older she is forced to uphold her end of the bargain, spending more and more time at the clocktower. Aspis and Nivea's relationship is ruined irreparably, as Invi begins to enjoy her studies and the company of her peers, spending less and less time with her brother "for a higher purpose".

On the other hand, Aspis, who has always remained silent about a subtle hostility from the inhabitants of Daybreak Town due to his bad temper and sharp tongue, is left almost alone. His only wish was not to be a burden to his sister, who therefore always believed everything was fine and let him go without regrets. Aspis is full of resentment towards Mom, blaming him for brainwashing his sister, now obsessed by Light and darkness, when she clearly only wanted a better life for them.

Aspis and Invi do not hate each other, but the lack of communication makes it difficult to make peace, they will miss their chance before the War.

Aspis eventually made some friends along the way, that made his loneliness bearable. he is in a sort of trio with Lupe and Leonna, and a little girl who for some reason adores him like a big brother, Velcia (she's @alchemist-of-thebes 's oc). he'll never admit it, but he would die for her.😂

Kinda off topic but on it at the same time. Ava would disguise herself as a normal wielder and hang out with and around them. This is how she met Brain. Brain figured out it was her pretty quickly though, and they became friends because of it

I imagine Ephemer’s conspiracies were decently wide spread (considering how easily he gave them out to Player lol) and I think it’d be funny if Brain heard them but didn’t know they came from Ephemer until they’re talking one day

Since the way into the Clocktower is kind of a maze, I think it’d be funny if the NULs spent like a whole day trying to get in with Ephemer, the only one to have successfully broken in, in the lead

You know how Ven’s Break Time is just him spinning like a heccin’ top? I like to imagine that he can do that because he had too much free time as a child and that’s means lots of time to practice lol

In the novels Ephemer and Skuld are in two different Unions. Instead of Ephemer having switched after leaving Skuld’s party, I like to think that Ephemer joining her party was some kind of ‘protest’ of sorts about how party’s shouldn’t be Union exclusive

Speaking of Unions, Ephemer’s from Unicornus, Skuld is from Anguis, Brain was in Leopardus then switched to Vulples, Ven is from Leopardus, and Lauriam is from Ursus

And that’s all the UX specific ones I can think of off the top of my head right now (RIP Lauriam, I guess lol)

KH OC WEEK DAY 1 - INTRODUCTION @khoc-week

I couldn't prepare properly for this week because my hyperfixations have been elsewhere and my mind literally wouldn't let me focus on anything until like, yesterday - but I was not going to miss khoc week this year!!! I was so upset I couldn't do it last year because my life was in shambles, but I'm in a much better place now!

For this year though I want to focus on my set of kh ocs who are the 'firsts' !! Meaning they are the first members of each union. Two of them don't belong to me, so I focus on the ones that do - meaning Cecil (Ursus first), Kage (Unicornis first) and Saorise (Anguis first).

I haven't drawn them recently, gosh it's been like a year or two! So these references are old but still more or less accurate, I'm overall happy with their designs - the only one I would probably update is Kage's but if I do I'll just do that on a different day.

To summarize their personalities:

Cecil is the eepiest person you will ever meet. They're known as the 'ghost of ursus' as only a few people have even seen them or know about them. The most people know about them is that they tend to leave supplies for members in secret, that they're always tired, and they have the strength of 100 keyblade wielders (supposedly),

Kage is a great leader - for those who can put up with his constant berating and short fuse. He leads a party called the 'patient dreamers' and they constantly have one of the top three rankings within the union even though the party is relatively small due to not many people wanting to join and deal with his nonsense. Those who stick around understand that no one cares more about the union, its members, and ira, more than Kage.

Saorise is the least developed of the three but essentially she is known as a 'prince' within the union. She's like a celebrity and everyone rushes to team up with her whenever they get the chance. But she's also very mysterious and no one in the union knows a lot about her. The other firsts think she's more trouble than anything, though.

idk if anyone has ever asked me this LMFAO well for Skuld and Ephemera I stick to canon since it was confirmed in the novel that Player, Skuld and Ephemera were all in Anguis and then Ephemera switched to Unicornis (in game it would just say that you and Skuld are in the same union, whatever you chose, and that Eph used to be in Skuld's party but left and changed unions, whatever union he switched to would depend on your own union) and I love this so much because Eph switching to Unicornis makes SO MUCH SENSE because hey if Ava won't give him answers, might as well switch to Ira's union as he's leader of the foretellers. Who better to ask about the Book than the leader?

Strelitzia is an Ursus girl I don't care, in my heart she is Ursus and that means Elrena is too. I didn't want to stick Strelitzia in a union that would give off the idea of her being like. idk cute and feminine??? I feel like Strelitzia is boiled down to being "cute little sister" a lot so I don't like the idea of her being in Vulpes or Anguis.

Lauriam being in Anguis just feels right idk it just does, and I think it makes sense for him and Strelitzia to be in different unions since he wants her to become strong and independent. Like you just KNOW they got to Daybreak Town and Strelitzia went "let's be in the same union!" and he went "okay you choose :)" and she signed up for one union and he immediately signed up for a different one right in front of her LMAO peak sibling behavior, I know she would be like >:O!!!!!

Brain is in Leopardus!! I have many feelings about him and Gula even if we never see them interact. I like to think if Gula sees someone he views is similar to himself he'll approach them to join his union, like I headcanon that Gula and Brain are actually from the same world (Midgar from FF7) so Gula kinda just snatched him up like "HEY SAME HAT" type of deal, they have similar personalities imo

Ventus is in Vulpes I think! I could also see him in Leopardus but I think Vulpes makes the most sense because of how he's presented to us. Like despite Ventus being a young kid in khux, he's shown to be extremely capable and powerful which is evident by his keyblade being missing ache as a keyblade you receive in proud mode. And I'd like to note it's not even the first keyblade you can receive from proud mode but the third which makes it more impressive. I'm realizing if you didn't play khux obsessively like I did this might not make sense but in the weekly rankings vulpes was basically always number one with the hardest competition to beat as the largest union as well so the strong wielders/players that did the best were CRAZY STRONG

anyway yeah that's my thoughts :)

Day one: introduction

Finally did my Oc for @khoc-week !

Never got to colour it in but I'll try explaining!

This is Ash!

Pronouns: they/them

Sexuality: gray-romantic, asexual

They're from daybreak town.

Union: anguis

Keyblade: sleeping lion

Their jacket is black, with a red crop top beneath it, their pants are green,and the boots are brown with a gold accent, and the headphones are black and red.

Friendships: they hang out with Brain at a cafe and talk about books and what's going on with daybreak town (pre war), chirithy, and has had a few conversations with master Invi.

They ran away from home at a young age, so they like calling chirithy their family!

Personality: inquisite but also laid back, loves drawing, reading, and listening to music

They also have excellent hearing, so they tend to eavesdrop, and noticed something was off pretty early.

Hopefully this isn't as bad as I think it is

Also they love croissants and sometimes steals brains when he's not looking lol

Dandelion Lyra. She has very mixed feelings about being a Dandelion bc she declined Ava's orginal offer to flee the war. She considers herself to be Ephemer's Dandelion, not Ava's.

Older and younger Lyra. She became a Keyblade wielder at about 13 years old and fought in the Keyblade war at 15/16ish. After the Keyblade war, time is weird in the datascape and by the end of khux she doesn't actually know how old she is.

Her Union is Vulpes (which I have story reasons for not bc of Vulpes popularity). Skuld and Ephemer are Anguis

Lyra's usual Keyblades are Starlight (all-purpose), Counterpoint (magic), Sleeping Lion (speed), and Fenrir (power). After ux/ml era she uses either Starlight or Aubade. I also have a new Keyblade idea for her called Mourning Star, which is a color variant of Aubade that formchanges into dual wield swords and then a double-bladed sword.

(I chose Aubade because 1. its my fav Keyblade, and 2. the name is a song about lovers parting at dawn [very applicable for skulmerayer]. Aubade also symbolizes both the pain of separation and light phenomena, which why I chose the name Mourning Star)

KH OC Week 2023: Day 1 - Introductions

Here is my post for the first day of this year's @khoc-week - it's an introduction to my OC, Clio!

Clio Arvense is a friendly and outgoing Keyblade wielder from the ancient age of fairytales, who lives and trains in Daybreak Town. She belongs to the Union of Anguis, as part of a high-ranking party called SAPPHIRE❧ (my actual in-game party from back when KHUX was still online!). The Sapphires, as they're called, are known for their dedication to taking down raid bosses - they even managed to gain second place in their Union because of this - but Clio still maintains her kind and light-hearted nature regardless of situation, and she's never afraid to be there for her friends and fellow party members!

Clio is a strong and versatile Keyblade wielder, mostly favouring upright- or speed-based Keyblades due to her agile fighting style; she's most often seen wielding Sleeping Lion as a result. However, she has an array of Keyblades in their fully-upgraded forms, from Starlight to Counterpoint to Bad Guy Breaker to Fenrir - yet after the Keyblade War's end, she's been seen wielding Missing Ache a lot, too.

On the note of the Keyblade War, Clio was lucky enough to be chosen as a Dandelion due to her strong light; her Chirithy and her pet Foxstar, Tea Leaf, were instrumental in helping her through the days that followed, and even now are often at her side. She's also never seen without the trademark crown of clovers that always adorns her hair!
