Golden hour on the way to Apeldoorn
Here with 257 Harry in front, and 372 Hannes behind us. And a celebratory blast of the air horn (or typhoon as wel call it in Dutch) to herald the start of the day. 6:12 in the morning, and the very first Arriva train departs from Zutphen station. As driver you’ll have to be there a bit earlier though; all the trains are still asleep and it takes a little time for them to start up. But getting up early is well worth the beautiful views.
A little video to celebrate being very nearly almost done with my train driver’s course. I’d actually passed all my exams a few weeks back, just been waiting on my driver’s license so to speak. It should come next week. I’m excited but also nervous - it’s a big responsibility and it’ll be my first time all alone! But hopefully the trains all behave and things go well. Hope you’ll enjoy this little view from my workplace.
