Through time, we’ve seen a progressive narrowing of how we experience entertainment: from the collective cinema experience, to the family viewing of the television, to the even narrower audience of the streaming service and various video apps, and now the expectation is that we’ll strap a set of screens directly onto our faces to ensure we can’t share an experience with another person. The development is a worrying one, and illustrates how disconnected tech executives are from real life.
The leaders of the tech industry are not only separated by much of the public because their wealth, experience of the world, and exclusive lifestyles, but also seem to have stunted social lives, or at least a lack of insight into the social nature of regular humans. They think an ideal way of living is one where as much as possible is mediated through digital technology because they have a specific interest in the tools that made them rich and powerful, and continuing a process that put them in that position in the first place. And while people have been open to going along with their visions, it’s pretty clear there’s a growing frustration and even dissatisfaction with the world they’ve created. Doubling down on it seems like a bad idea.
[...]
Given that the Vision Pro will retail for $3499 and won’t launch until 2024, with an initial rollout limited to the United States, I think we have a unique ability to ensure this project fails. We’ve already seen how ridicule can take the hype out of a tech bubble, most recently with crypto and the metaverse, but a decade ago the same thing happened with Google’s attempt to make its Glass smart glasses happen. Instead, its users were termed “Glassholes” and the product was scaled back and sold as a niche enterprise tool.

NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition, Balatro+ To Apple Arcade Games
Tumblr media
Apple Arcade
Eight titles, including NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition and Balatro+, are added to Apple Arcade. Apple Arcade is expanding its library of over 200 entertaining games with eight new additions. With no in-app purchases or advertisements, the newest collection of games provides something for the whole family, from thrilling deck-building games to competitive sports titles.
Three new games have been added to the service today: Puzzle Sculpt, an Apple Vision Pro spatial puzzle, Monster Train+, and NFL Retro Bowl ’25, the first NFL-licensed game available on the platform.
Every month, the service is updated with new games and material. Starting on September 26th, users will have the opportunity to construct their dream deck and take on challenging tasks with the 2024 deck-building phenomenon Balatro+. Playable on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, Balatro+ will be part of the Arcade subscription service.
NBA 2K returns on October 3rd, promising players another thrilling season as they step up their game in NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition. This year, 2K enthusiasts may check out the redesigned Greatest Mode and The Neighborhood. In addition, subscribers may operate their own cat café in Furistas Cat café+, cook up a good time with some adorable furry companions in Food Truck Pup+, and smash their way through realms beyond their wildest dreams in Smash Hit+.
A family of up to six people may enjoy unlimited access to every game in the Apple Arcade library with just one membership, so you can all play these fantastic games together.
Playstack and LocalThunk’s Balatro+
LocalThunk, a lone developer, produced this hypnotically delightful roguelike deck builder with a focus on poker, which Playstack released. Joker cards and poker hands are combined by players to create a variety of builds and synergies, each with their own special powers. The objective is to find secret bonus hands and decks while gathering enough chips to defeat cunning blinds. In Balatro+’s unique psychedelic environment, defeat the boss blind, uphold the last stand, and win all set to a surreal and retro-futuristic synthwave music.

Not only will they rule the court, but The Neighborhood as well. New character customization options, upgrades to My career and The Association, and a redesigned Greatest Mode that lets players relive some of their favorite ballers’ career-defining moments are all included in the game.
GAME START’s Food Truck Pup+
With the top canine chefs in town, players can cook up a fantastic time. With the bright pixel visuals of the game, work hard to build a delicious worldwide crêpe company from the bottom up and see it come to life. Reflecting on TM352: Web, Mobile, and Cloud Technologies
Hey there, fellow students and tech enthusiasts! 🌐 As I wrap up my journey through the Open University’s TM352 module, I thought it would be great to share some insights and reflections on what we’ve covered.
So, grab your favorite beverage, and let’s dive into the fascinating world of web, mobile, and cloud technologies!Foundations of the WebOur journey began with the Foundations of the Web.
We explored how Tim Berners-Lee’s vision in 1989 led to the creation of HTML, URI, and HTTP. These technologies are the backbone of the web, enabling us to create and access websites seamlessly. Understanding these basics was crucial as it set the stage for everything else we learned.
Architectures of the Web
Next, we delved into Web Architectures. This part of the module was like learning the blueprint for building a house. We covered:Monolithic Architecture: Building everything as a single, unified application.
Microservices Architecture: Breaking down applications into smaller, independent services.
Serverless Architecture: Writing code without worrying about the underlying infrastructure, thanks to cloud providers.
Each architecture has its pros and cons, and we learned how to choose the right one based on the project’s needs.
Frontend Frameworks
One of the highlights was exploring Frontend Frameworks. These tools make our websites look and feel amazing. We got hands-on experience with some of the most popular frameworks:React: Known for its component-based architecture and virtual DOM.
Angular: Great for building large-scale applications with TypeScript.
Vue.js: A progressive framework that’s easy to integrate.
Svelte: Compiles components into highly efficient vanilla JavaScript at build time.
These frameworks have revolutionized web development, making it faster and more enjoyable.
Microservices
Microservices Architecture was another exciting topic. Instead of building a massive, monolithic application, we learned to create small, independent services that can be developed, deployed, and scaled independently. This approach offers improved scalability, flexibility, and easier maintenance, though it also comes with challenges like managing inter-service communication.
Current Mobile App Development Trends
We also explored the latest Mobile App Development Trends. Here are some of the hottest trends for 2024:AI and ML Integration: Apps are getting smarter with artificial intelligence and machine learning.
5G Technology: Enabling faster, more reliable mobile connections.
AR and VR: Providing immersive experiences in gaming, shopping, and more.
Wearable Tech: Apps for smartwatches and other wearable devices are on the rise.
Blockchain: Secure, decentralized apps are gaining traction, especially in finance and supply chain management.
Mobile App Frameworks
Just like web development, mobile app development has its own set of frameworks. We got to work with some of the top ones:
React Native: Build mobile apps using JavaScript and React, with native performance.
Flutter: Google’s UI toolkit for building natively compiled applications from a single codebase.
Swift: Apple’s powerful programming language for iOS development.
Kotlin: A modern language that makes Android development more enjoyable.
These frameworks help developers create high-quality mobile apps that run smoothly on various devices.
Mobile Web Development Trends
Finally, we looked at Mobile Web Development Trends. Here are a few key trends:Progressive Web Apps (PWAs): Web applications that offer a native app-like experience.
Responsive Design: Ensuring websites look great on all devices.
Voice Search Optimization: Optimizing websites for voice search is becoming crucial.
Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP): Lightweight pages designed to load quickly on mobile devices.
And there you have it! A whirlwind tour of the TM352 module and some of the most important topics in web and mobile development today. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just starting out, staying updated with these trends and technologies will help you build better, more innovative applications. Happy coding! 🚀
Reflecting on this module, it’s clear that the knowledge and skills we’ve gained are invaluable. From understanding the foundational technologies to exploring the latest trends, TM352 has equipped us with the tools to thrive in the ever-evolving tech landscape. Here’s to many more coding adventures ahead! 🎉

Navigating Your First Music Release
Releasing your first music track is an exhilarating milestone, but it can also be a daunting task. From recording to marketing, every step needs meticulous planning to ensure a successful debut. This guide will take you through each step, providing you with the knowledge and confidence to make your first music launch a memorable success.
1. Setting Clear Goals:
Define Your Objectives:
Clarify why you are releasing your music. Are you aiming to gain listeners, secure a record deal, or generate revenue?
Understanding your primary goal will shape your strategy and help you measure success.
Set Measurable Goals:
Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) like download numbers, streaming counts, social media engagement, and email list growth.
Establish specific targets to track your progress and make data-driven decisions.
2. Creating a Professional Recording:
Choose the Right Studio or Home Recording Setup:
Evaluate the pros and cons of professional studios versus home recording setups. Professional studios offer high-quality equipment and acoustics, while home setups provide convenience and cost savings.
Ensure your recording environment is acoustically treated to avoid unwanted noise and echoes.
Work with a Skilled Producer and Sound Engineer:
Collaborate with experienced professionals who understand your vision and can enhance the quality of your music.
Don’t hesitate to seek recommendations or listen to samples of their previous work.
3. Crafting Your Image and Brand:
Develop Your Artist Persona:
Think about how you want to be perceived by your audience. Your persona should reflect your music style, values, and personality.
Consistency is key. Ensure your branding elements (logos, color schemes, fonts) are uniform across all platforms.
Create a Cohesive Visual Identity:
Invest in professional photos and album art that capture the essence of your music.
High-quality visuals can make a significant impact on your audience and set you apart from others.
4. Building an Online Presence:
Set Up Profiles on Key Platforms:
Create accounts on major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok) and streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube).
Optimize your profiles with engaging bios, links to your music, and eye-catching visuals.
Engage with Your Audience:
Regularly update your followers with behind-the-scenes content, teasers, and personal stories.
Respond to comments and messages to build a loyal fanbase.
5. Planning Your Launch:
Select a Strategic Release Date:
Avoid releasing your music on holidays or dates when major artists are dropping new albums.
Consider industry trends and choose a date that maximizes your visibility.
Plan Pre-Launch Activities:
Build anticipation with sneak peeks, countdowns, and exclusive content.
Collaborate with influencers or bloggers to create buzz around your release.
6. Executing the Launch:
Release Your Music Across All Platforms:
Ensure your track is available on all major streaming services and digital stores.
Double-check that all links and metadata are correct before going live.
Implement a Coordinated Social Media Blitz:
Schedule posts across all your social media channels to announce the release.
Use eye-catching visuals, engaging captions, and relevant hashtags to reach a broader audience.
Encourage your fans to share your music and use a specific hashtag to track the buzz.
7. Post-Launch Activities:
Monitor and Engage:
Track the performance of your release using analytics tools provided by streaming services and social media platforms.
Engage with your audience by responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
Plan Follow-Up Content:
Keep the momentum going with additional content such as lyric videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and remixes.
Consider hosting live Q&A sessions or virtual concerts to maintain engagement with your fans.
Conclusion: Your first music launch sets the tone for your career. With careful planning and execution, you can make a significant impact and establish a strong foundation for future releases. Remember, persistence and adaptability are key to navigating the challenges of the music industry.

The Latest Web3 News That Is Set To Redefine How We Communicate And Share Information
Web3 is the third generation of the internet where decentralized apps enable a more user driven experience.
Let us stay more up to date on the latest Web3 news with Block Matra – high-quality content from the crypto investor’s point of view.
The original vision of Web3 was a digital future that could be built and owned by the many, made possible by the power of blockchain protocols and their unique ability to solve age-old coordination problems.
Web3 is redefining how we communicate and share information.
Unlike Web2 applications like Roblox that trap users in, Web3 empowers users with digital property rights so they can move freely. Be it money, personal information, or an avatar’s hat, the Web3 vision is that those assets should be user-owned and controlled.
Some latest trending Web3 news is:
Recently, crypto-focused distribution services have gained a lot of traction in the blockchain space, pitching themselves as a "cheaper" way for projects to gain visibility through sponsored press releases
Like spatial computing, Web3 is also an umbrella term, liberally thrown together with terms like blockchain, digital assets, DeFi and the rest of the crypto-jargon dictionary. But trust Apple to do it differently with its Vision Pro.
They tell you about how the Vision Pro enables you to enjoy immersive entertainment experiences from your sofa, capture and relive your precious moments as 3D photos and collaborate with remote colleagues as seamlessly as if you were in the same room. It doesn’t tell us why we need the technology – it shows us why we want what it can do.
Japan's current government, led by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, has championed Web3 development and regulation. In 2023, Japan became one of the major jurisdictions to regulate stablecoins, which are crypto assets tied to the value of other currencies. Kishida’s cabinet has a Web3 project team, which last year released a white paper outlining the national non-fungible token (NFT) and decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) strategy, which is now working to introduce new Web3 policies.

OSMO NVIDIA By NIM Microservices For Robotics Simulation
Tumblr media
NVIDIA Launches New NIM Microservices for Robotics Simulation in Isaac Lab and Isaac Sim, OSMO NVIDIA Robot Cloud Compute Orchestration Service, Teleoperated Data Capture Workflow, and More, Advancing the Development of NVIDIA Humanoid Robotics.
Humanoid Robot
NVIDIA today announced that in an effort to spur worldwide progress in humanoid robots, it is offering a range of services, models, and computing platforms to the top robot makers, AI model developers, and software developers in the world. These resources will be used to design, develop, and construct the next generation of humanoid robotics.
Among the products are the OSMO NVIDIA orchestration service for managing multi-stage robotics workloads, the new NVIDIA NIM microservices and frameworks for robot simulation and learning, and an AI- and simulation-enabled teleportation workflow that enables developers to train robots with minimal human demonstration data.
Humanoid Robot Development
Quickening the Process of Development NVIDIA NIM and OSMO NVIDIA NIM microservices enable developers to cut down on deployment times from weeks to minutes by offering pre-built containers that are driven by NVIDIA inference software. NVIDIA Isaac Sim is a reference application for robotics simulation based on the NVIDIA Omniverse platform. With the help of two new AI microservices, robotics will be able to improve simulation processes for generative physical AI.
Synthetic motion data is produced by the MimicGen NIM microservice using teleoperated data that has been captured by spatial computing devices such as Apple Vision Pro. The Robocasa NIM microservice in OpenUSD, a general-purpose framework for creating and interacting in 3D environments, creates robot tasks and simulation-ready environments.
With the help of distributed computing resources, either on-premises or in the cloud, customers can coordinate and scale complicated robotics development workflows with OSMO NVIDIA, a managed service that is currently accessible in the cloud.
NVIDIA OSMO
Robot training and simulation workflows are greatly streamlined by OSMO NVIDIA, which reduces deployment and development cycle duration’s from several months to a few days. A variety of tasks, such as creating synthetic data, training models, performing reinforcement learning, and putting software-in-the-loop testing into practice at scale for industrial manipulators, autonomous mobile robots, and humanoids, may be visualised and managed by users.
Humanoid Robots
Enhancing Data Capture Processes for Developers of Humanoid Robots
The amount of data needed to train foundation models for humanoid robots is enormous. Teleportation is one method of gathering data about human demonstration, but it’s getting more and more expensive.
At the SIGGRAPH computer graphics conference, an NVIDIA AI– and Omniverse-enabled teleportation reference workflow was presented. It enables academics and AI developers to produce vast quantities of synthetic motion and perception data from a small number of remotely recorded human demonstrations.
First, a limited number of teleoperated demonstrations are recorded by developers using Apple Vision Pro. Next, they use NVIDIA Isaac Sim to simulate the recordings, and the MimicGen NIM microservice is used to create synthetic datasets from the recordings.
By using both synthetic and actual data to train the Project GR00T humanoid foundation model, developers are able to minimise expenses and time. They then create experiences to retrain the robot model using the Robocasa NIM microservice in Isaac Lab, a robot learning platform. OSMO NVIDIA sends computing jobs to various resources in a smooth manner throughout the workflow, sparing the developer weeks’ worth of administrative effort.
The business Fourier, which makes all-purpose robot platforms, recognises the advantages of creating artificial training data through simulation technology.

Tech Giant Beats Expectations, Eyes Growth Amidst Challenges
Apple Inc. made waves in the financial world with its latest fiscal second-quarter earnings report, sending its stock soaring by 7% in after-hours trading. The company’s robust performance surpassed analysts’ expectations, buoyed by a series of strategic moves and optimistic projections for the future.
Record-Breaking Share Repurchase Program
In a bold move, Apple announced an extensive $110 billion share repurchase program, solidifying its position with the largest buyback in history. This marked a substantial 22% increase over the previous year’s authorization, signaling confidence in the company’s trajectory despite challenges in certain segments.
Diversifying Revenue Streams Amidst iPhone Sales Dip
Despite a 4% decline in overall sales and a notable 10% drop in iPhone sales compared to the previous year, CEO Tim Cook remains bullish about Apple’s growth prospects.
