(Modern!Au, Aricka and Eddie are 25 in this; Stranger Things/Rock of Ages AU.)

(Aricka is cleaning up after Arsenal’s show when the lead singer comes over to talk to her. This begins- something for sure.)

The show was over. Aricka’s ears were ringing in the silence after the band- Arsenal, according to her brother, Eddie- had ended their set. She grabs a trash bag, and makes her way over to the worst of the mess; and begins slowly cleaning what the crowd left behind.

Little did she know, but the band’s lead singer and front runner; Stacee Jaxx himself, was watching her. He walks over, takes the trash bag from her, startling her from her internal dialogue.

“You didn’t make the mess- why clean up after the crowd?”

She stares at him; unsure if he was serious or not. “… because it’s the nice thing to do? The janitor doesn’t deserve to clean that big a mess.” She dumps more bottles and paper plates into the bag he now held.

He stares back; huffs slightly as if he’d never considered the possibility. “I’m- I’m Stacee.” She glances up and down at him.

“Oh, that’s nice. I’m Aricka Munson. My brother is around here somewhere- he wants to be a big fancy rockstar.” He looks down; mouthing her name like he never wanted to forget it.

“That’s a- a real pretty name. Aricka. I’ve never heard of anyone else with that name.” Without thinking she shot back,

“I’ve never heard of a boy named Stacee. We both learned something new today.” Before she could even get embarrassed about saying that; he LAUGHS. “You’re not like those other girls, are you?”

She scoffs, “What, those girls who will fall at your feet and beg for a minute of your precious time? No. I don’t think I am like those girls. If I want someone’s attention, I don’t make a habit of simpering over them.”

Stacee sets the bag down and grips her wrist, tugging her towards him, “and if I want someone’s attention, usually all I have to do is beckon them to me.” They stare at each other. No words exchanged.

Aricka’s eyes were narrowed and hard; Stacee’s were hooded and the charm was dialed up to ten. She steps closer, he leans down-

And she slips free of his grasp with a, “You’ll have to try a little harder with me, Mr. Jaxx. Now if you’ll excuse me: I have a twin to find.” She grabbed the bag as he watches her leave, silence permeating the room.

A breathless chuckle escapes the rockstar, who had never ever met a woman like that before. She was the first to ever deny his advances.

He had to get to know her better.
