The Armin story was just...something else. I couldn't and can't really root for them either because of how creepy his behavior actually was.
I completely agree. She tells him no and to stay multiple times and yet he persists and even kidnaps her. And on top of that it's all played as completely romantic. Just yikes.

This purple velvet cloak with decorative silver clasps looks slightly different in color depending on the lighting. It appears to have a cooler blueish undertone in outdoor settings, while indoors, it appears to have a warmer undertone.
Müjde Uzman first wore the cloak as Armin Hatun in the second season of Muhteşem Yüzyıl (Magnificent Century). It made two additional appearances in the second season, first on Selma Ergeç as Hatice Sultan in the sixteenth episode and later in the season on Ezgi Eyüboğlu as Aybige Hatun.
The eighth episode of the 2013 fourth season saw the piece make its final appearance when Vahide Perçin wore it as Hürrem Sultan.

No Armin biting and slapping Bali Bey isn't her being 'feisty'. She's defending herself.

🔥Romance arcs in Magnificent Century
The show did not do them as well as it thought it did. And they were generally a mess.
The portrayal of Hürrem/Süleyman just ended up romanticising abuse. And the concubine arcs were (for the most part) bad.
Hatice/Ibrahim was not only boring, but it ended up contributing to the rose tinted view that the show had towards Ibrahim in the final seasons. And it did not deserve to be romanticised as much as it was And it ties so neatly into the undeserved romanticisation of Ibrahim himself.
Bali Bey's romance arcs were mostly just cringey. Especially with Armin, considering that he basically stalked her and refused to accept her saying no to him.
Matrakci/Viktoria and Hürrem/Leo were sweet and tragic love stories and they deserved better.
Helena is my favourite love interest for Mustafa. His relationship with Mihrünnisa was OK but kind of bland and cliché. And any praise I've seen for Mustafa/Mihrünnisa was stuff that Mustafa/Helena did better in my opinion.
I wish Mehmet had more character development and a more fleshed out love interest. And I'm still upset that we never see the child his favourite (Cihan Hatun) was pregnant with when he died.
My favourite relationship for Mihrimah was with Pedro.
Selim/Nurbanu is my OTP for the series out of all the canon ships. I love them so much.
I loved Defne as a love interest for Bayezid. She was sweet and deserved the world.
And finally,
Gracia Mendes deserved better than to be reduced to Rüstem's mistress. She was done so dirty by the show.
