This sheer blue glittering kaftan was first worn by Hürrem Sultan in the twenty-seventh episode of the second season of Magnificent Century. The kaftan was used five times in the third season. It can be seen on Fatma Hatun in the seventeenth episode, on Ayşe Hatun in the twenty-fifth episode and on Cihan Hatun in the thirty-ninth episode as well as on unnamed harem members in the thirty-first and thirty-eighth episodes. The kaftan was used five times in the fourth season. It was worn by a harem member either named Hazal or Neze Hatun in the second episode and by Dilşah Hatun in the eighth episode, as well as by two unnamed harem members in the twenty-ninth and thirtieth episode. The kaftan appears one final time on İsmihan Sultan in the thirty-sixth episode.

Dilşah is pretty one-dimensional but I did laugh at “Haven’t you understood already? You are not at Venice”.

Magnificent Century Character Tag Game

(I didn't get tagged, but I love idea and never actually post anything about MC, soo let's go! Hope you can forgive me.)

I really want to thank @hurremsphoenix and @minetteskvareninova I saw their posts and dare to write that 💖 (If you don't want to be tagged or you are uncomfortable dm me I will delete the tag.)

Warnings: It can be long, because I watched whole series long ago, now I am rewatching some episodes for personal reasons.

The character I first fell in love with: Hatiçe, because I very liked her early softness and her frobidden love with Ibrahim was soooo romantic (at least for me, I love such things), later I didn't like her behaviour and thing that each of Suleiman sister was anti Hürrem. Early Gülfem, I like that despite losing son, she had respect from Süleyman and Hafsa, also she was wise in her way.

The character I never expected to love so much as I do now: it's hard question, but I guess Mahidevran, in early episodes I couldn't actually decide between her and Hürrem, but later I appreciate her and Mustafa dynamic and her caring way towards him.

The character I love than none else does: Nasuh, I really like him and think that he deserved better. Nigar, I just loved characters aside Sultans and odalisks, she was interesting and I like her as kalfa. Atmaca, I have soft spot for him because of being loyal. (I kinda have things for side characters.)

The character everyone loves, I just don't: Nurbanu I think, but it isn't strong dislike, she wanted to help Selim, but I didn't like her ways with other hatuns and big ego. I actually like Nurbanu~Hürrem relation and later dealing with Selim.

The character I am obsessed with: Çihangir, my cinnamon roll, adorable chocolate chip. I love absolutely everything about him. He was wise, caring and strong in his own way. He deserved better for sure and I love that he actually knew what was happening in palace. When he said that Mustafa can't have bad intentions when he has military advance - in episode when Mustafa raided capital because of posion jacket, just made my heart jump. I can go on and go on about Çihangir. (Well I wasn't watching in English but in my native so sorry for bad translations about series)

The character I would slap: Süleyman for a lot of reasons, late Ibrahim and Hatiçe like come on, Rüstem (he was annoying me almost everytime), Nazenin, Dilşah and a little Huricihan but that would be the gentlest slap in history of gentlest slaps.

The character I'd want to be: Çihangir, as I said he was wise, strong and he got fears but he was facing them. Hürrem, but in way of being determinated and knowing yourself. Atmaca as said above he was loyal.

The paring I love: early Hatiçe and Ibrahim, Huricihan and Bayezid (forbidden love too), Selim and Nurbanu, I like their dynamic, but in separate way not really. Selim was doing everything to be good in Süleyman eyes, despote having flaws (wine drinking). Nasuh and Sadika, but from his perspective, but very little. Çihangir and Huricihan again from his perspective, it was pure and innocent love. I had attempt to read about Leyla and Manjun because of that. Bayezid and Defne, late I prefered them than Nurbanu and Selim, I like that he forgive her and Defne was different than Nurbanu. I want to include there brotherly love between Mustafa, Bayezid and Çihangir, I am hoe for strong siblings bonds and I loved that in this trio each of them was unique. Mustafa had to be careful all the time, Bayezid thought he was not appreciated and Çihangir was struggling with his disability. I like that they found comfort and understanding in themselfes.

The paring I despise: Süleyman and Firuze, I always have mixed feelings about them, but although Firuze seemed different and something new in series, in whole I don't like their paring. Attempting to give Mihrimah love interest just to show how she was unhappy. Right Rüstem was older than her, because of marriage he have become Grand Vizier, and was loyal to Hürrem, but actually for me Mihrimah was in good position during marriage. She was close to palace, so could visit it anytime, Süleyman and Hürrem took care of all her worries and troubles, she had respect, her husband too in general way. Right she couldn't get divorced, because Hürrem would lost her support and her brothers would be in danger, it was hard situation, but personal for me, there were more + than -. Rüstem loved her and he might annoy her with that, but it was better than hate I guess 😅 and they had same goal, to take care of Selim, Bayezid and Çihangir.

Who are the female characters in MC that you don’t like besides Hürrem?

Gülşah -all I can say... so happy Mahi finally threw her out, but her still keeping Gülşah despite her shit harming also her showed an important aspect of Mahi - she gets truly attached, sometimes too attached, back in S1 she begged Ibrahim to keep Gülşah because otherwise she would feel lonely.

Fatma Hatun - So aggressive and sadistic and vulgar. Plus being so eager to burn someone’s face? Just no.

Huricihan - Such wasted potential.. I liked her at first, but later she was just sheer annoyance. She became so Bayezid obsessed too, it blinded her too much. Not only she betrayed her cousin in such an awful way, she seemed to have no clue why Bayezid is so mad and only seemed sorry because of his reaction and how she ruined their relationship. Then after Mustafa and Cihangir (her good friend) died, she like did not seem to even register it? Only came to palace and was all ‘Bayezid Bayezid Bayezid’ and ‘Nurbanu you r a slave lol’. Plus her saying she liked Rüstem (aka person who contributed to her father’s death) because he “supported Bayezid” (not like everyone with a brain would not question loyalty of someone like that.. he is loyal only to his own interests).. wtf is this thinking even. Good the writers realized she became just an annoyance and she got replaced with Defne.

Isabella - Do not get me wrong, she was not some bad person and did not deserve to die in this way (this is for toxic Hurremists who of course dehumanize her to remove Hürrem's culpability for shit), but as character she was the biggest waste of space. And had worst plots and worst arc in the show. And could truly big annoying. Not fan of the acting as well.

Rümeysa - again Plami once wrote comprehensively about her.. so annoying and her obsession with Mustafa was kinda creepy. Hated how she used Nergissah to get into her Daddy’s pants. In Ayse’s place, I would lose my patience as well. 

Dilşah - Kinda didn’t want to write it because she was not even a remotely fleshed character, just a piece of cardboard, but she killed a puppy and I can never let it slide.

Actually a bunch of randoms and not important characters.. Hürrem is special case, but I get why she is interesting as character... it’s simply not my type of character at all.

This red, brown and golden velvet dress was first worn by Firuze Hatun (Hümeyra) in the twelth episode of the third season of Magnificent Century. The dress was worn by two unnamed harem members in the twenty-ninth and thirty-fifth episode of the same season. Dilşah Hatun is seen in the dress in the fourth episode of the fourth season. Two episodes later the dress is worn by another unnamed harem member. It makes another appearance on Rana Sultan in the eighteenth episode. The dress is worn one last time in the thirty-fourth episode by an unnamed harem member.

It was briefly seen again on Ayşe Hatun in the thirty-seventh episode of the second season. Its next appearance was on an unnamed concubine of Şehzade Mustafa in the first episode of the third season. The kaftan was also used in a flashback scene in the third season, where it is worn by a young Mahidevran Sultan. Later that same season, it can also be seen on Helena Hatun and Ayşe Hatun. The fourth season used the kaftan on an unnamed harem member in the third episode and on Dilşah Hatun in the sixth and seventh episode. It was used again on Safiye Hatun (later Safiye Sultan) in the final episode of the series.

Magnificent Century: Kösem used the kaftan first on an unnamed harem member in the fourth episode of the first season before it was worn by Mahfiruze Hatun.

It was also seen on Dilşah Hatun in the fourth season. Unnamed harem members wear it in the fifth, fifthteenth, eighteenth, twentieth, twenty-second and thirty-first episode of the same season.

The show condemns Selim for being a womanizer but he only has sex with Nurbanu and Dilşah lol. Like he only had an affair with Eftalya the married Greek woman because she let him drink. Legendary.

This teal night gown and matching dressing gown were first worn by Firuze Hatun in the third season of Magnificent Century. The night gown was seen again later that season on Silvia Conterini. It also briefly appear on Dilşah Hatun in the third episode of the fourth season. Night gown and dressing gown were worn again by Mihrünnisa Sultan later in the fourth season.
