Soundproof glass panels muted the heavy drops that pelted against the windows. The beige leather of the couch cool on your skin as you set aside your MacBook that glowed to display work mails.

Getting up with a little stretch you decide to find your boyfriend in the little nook of his studio where you were right now.

"Jihoooon-ah! Still working?"

You called out as you found him behind bright panels of AMOLED and purple LEDs creating shadows on his focused features.

"Hmm. Just a sec babe."

Pouting just a little, you peeked over his lavishly cushioned chair for your eyes to be bombarded by the bright screen that displayed his DAW messy with layers of colored bars of various amplitudes. Your peripheral vision caught a neon sign of your name, making you smile to yourself.

After a few more clicks and approving nods, he spun his chair around and pulled you into his lap.

"Done."

He sighed and placed his chin on your shoulder as he pulled your back flush against his chest. Your cold feet slipping out of your slides as you rested your toes on his warm socked feet.

"I want you to listen to this."

He spoke against your skin.

"Oh, sure, go ahead."

With a hum, he reached forward and hit the play button.

Beautiful tunes and delicately interwoven notes filled the room as you heard his voice through the woofers. A love song. The lyrics were like something you had never heard him write before. They spoke to you. Closing your eyes you felt the music better and drummed your fingers to the beat. A mellow rhythm that felt like the crisp afternoon air of a beach swirling around you, feeling like a warm embrace.

"How is it?"

You heard him ask.

"So good! Something different, it feels more emotional than the other songs. Is it for your next comeback?"

A gentle smile on his mouth and he pecked your cheek.

"It's for you love."

Turning around to look at him,

"For me? What do you mean?"

"Well, wouldn't it be a sin to not write my beautiful lover a song...hmm?"

You were touched. Gosh, you loved this man.

"Jihoon, I...thank you so much! What's it called?"

Wrapping his hands around your waist, he snuggled into your neck and whispered.

"Y/n."

You let out a little chuckle and hugged him close. Writing you a song? No wonder the lyrics make you feel some type of way. What on earth did you do to deserve someone like him? You thought to yourself...

His hand was gentle on the arch of your back and yours held his shoulder. Both your free hands mirrored to meet and clasp together. Feet in a harmonious sync like a scripted movie scene. Your eyes flickered to his for a brief moment, causing a smile to grace your features as his face mimicked your bashful shyness.

Slow dancing away lazy afternoons in the kitchen after cooking a meal together was more or less a habit for the two of you. But somehow you could never get used to the feeling of him holding you so tenderly while he swayed you gracefully like a petal in the wind. After all these months, you still couldn't control the heat that crept to your face.

As a few more languid beats went by, you relaxed in his arms. Mind repeating the sequence he had taught you. You recalled the very first time he taught you to dance without tripping on your feet. His hands guided your movements as he spilled praises every time you followed his instructions. Both of your giggles filled the room when he finally succeeded in the challenge to make you dance. You had come a long way, and so had this relationship.

Snapping back to the present, you decide to close the gap between your bodies and place your head on his chest feeling his warmth engulf you. Gently turning and looping over the hardwood floor, he rested his chin on your head while closing his eyes savoring this moment with you.

"I love you Y/n. A little more than I should."

He whispered against your satin locks.

"Me too, I love you too youngie"

You whisper back and wrap both your arms around his neck, while he draws circles on your waist. Letting the music fold around you like a gentle mid-summer drizzle.

This is what it feels like to date a dancer.

I wanted to make this kinda realistic so you're all in the dressing rooms when you get the news. Anon if u like this, lemme know cause that'll make me happy.

"Y/n what is it? Are you alright?"

You clasped your hand around your ajar mouth as you felt tears prickle your eyes. Looking up you find Joshua's features twist in anxiety.

Your sudden sharp gasp had alerted the team who were all seated in cushioned chairs with professional make-up and hair artists behind them. You had 2 more hours to go before the your team was to perform their recent hit on the Daesang-worthy stage, when you received a text from a close acquaintance who also happened to be the co-host for the evening's event.

"Y/n! Talk to me! What happened?"

Joshua shook you out of your trance and looking at him made the tears roll down your flushed cheeks.

"D-daesang! You guys are finally getting a daesang!"

You choked out and smiled while looking at the other members who mirrored the shock registered on your face a minute ago. Your words had everyone in the room staring at you, praying that you weren't joking.

"Y/n, are you serious? G-guys did you hear that?"

His voice soft and barely above a whisper. Before you could answer him, Seungcheol's voice boomed from behind your boyfriend.

"Who's finally getting a daesang? I need to hear that again Y/n, a lil' louder."

"Leader-nim YOU'RE FINALLY GETTING A DAESANG! SEVENTEEN IS FINALLY GETTING A DAESANG!"

You yelled out enough for the entire dressing room to hear before cheers and claps bombarded your ears. Before you knew it, everyone was up and out of their seats and all the members were rushing toward each other. Before you lost Joshua in the crowd you grabbed the velvet cuff of his jacket and pulled him close. Closing any distance left between you two, you threw your hands around him.

"Shua I'm so proud of you! I know how long you've waited for this!"

With a sweet smile playing on his lips and moisture in his eyes he placed the lightest kiss on the top of your head and replied.

"Hearing this news from you makes this even better."

Pulling away, you smiled and nudged him to go join the other members.

A much-anticipated win like this, had your mind reeling. You recollected the past and your debut days with the team. You thought about the day you gifted Seungcheol a smartphone, when you helped the boys choose a stage name, scheduled their first ever MBC stage, finalized their first MAMA stage outfits, and your first date with Joshua. Some of the most memorable 'firsts'.

You'd seen this team grow from co-trainees to co-workers to family. Through the highs and lows, you'd been by their side and this was a high you didn't wanna come down from.

"Y/n-ah, you're not pranking us right? Cause I'll cry if this isn't real."

"You're already crying though Seokmin. And no, I would never joke about something like this."

Wiping away the tears clinging to his lashes he flashed you a smile.

"Then why're you just standing there? No group hug?"

You heard Jeonghan ask you with a cocked eyebrow as he poked his head out of another members' arms who was giving him a hug.

That was it for you. You couldn't hold back your emotions anymore. Warm tears cascaded down your face as you found your place next to Joshua who wrapped his arm around your waist and used the other to wipe the wetness off of your face.

"Everybody fall in!"

Seungcheol gestured to all the other staff present in the room.

"I really don't know what to say right now so-"

Clearing his throat, loud and clear the walls resonated,

"Say the name!"

This really was the loudest reply you'd heard in all these years. Exuberant and merry.

"SEVENTEEN!"

"We are!"

"SEVENTEEN!"

"Who always wins?"

"SEVENTEEN!"

The room erupted with joyous applause as everyone repeated after him. You looked up at Joshua and whispered.

"Till the last 'say the name'?"

With a glint in his dark eyes, he whispered back.

"Till my last breath. You and me."

His intense gaze on you softened as a thin-lipped smile played on his lips...oh, OH he was smirking, not smiling. Even though it hadn't been long since you were transferred to SEVENTEEN's staff and crew unit, you'd never seen Seokmin look at anyone like this.

Eyes dopey as he drunk in your confused face and lips forming a mean...smirk?? Since when did 'Mr. sunshine and smiles' know how to do that?

Seated across from you in his make-up chair, his lids were smeared in dark ombre eye shadow, and lips coral from the S2ND tint he endorsed. He leaned a tad bit closer to you.

"Oh there's a lot you can do for me love."

Eyes flickering to your lips for a nanosecond as he lets out a dry chuckle. Your eyes go wide as you picture all the endless possible insinuations behind that statement.

"Wh-what exactly do you mean?"

You stutter.

Within a blink of an eye, he had moved closer to you. His warm breath almost fanning your heated face. His veiny hand languidly crept up to your thigh to delicately stroke your smooth skin.

"Maybe you can start wi-"

He was cut off by the photoshoot director's voice that echoed through the megaphone.

"Dokyeom-ah! We're ready for you! Can we start now?"

Retracting himself from your personal space he let out an exasperated sigh. Glancing over at the set that was prepared just for him, he looks back at you.

"You're thinking too much. I'll be back, yeah?"

He spoke in a low and dangerous voice, sending jitters down your spine. Letting his eyes scan your figure one last time, he briskly got up and strode away while grabbing the thin-rim glasses which were a prop for the shoot.

Now that you were by yourself you tried to decode his words. Not like there was much to decode. But this wasn't the first time he'd said something as brazen. He's been doing it ever since your official welcome dinner. The day you met the team and were introduced as the new management division head, under you were the members' individual managers. You often tagged along to photoshoots, MV shoots, and sometimes interviews and other media sites. Giving you several chances to be around the members and also giving Seokmin opportunities to taunt you and shamelessly flirt.

Of course, you've had to tolerate flirtatious behavior at work and even outside work, but none of them had this impact on you. You had initially brushed it off as him just being curious, but things were a lil' past curious now, weren't they?

What is it called when you have the uncontrollable urge to constantly be with someone? When you wanna hug them and maaaaybe kiss them? Keep them happy at all costs?

These were some of Seokmins recent thought trains.

He knew he loved you, but could it still be the platonic kind?

Little did he know that he wasn't the only one struggling with such brain rot.

You too spent a good amount of time every day wondering if you were attracted to him. You thought of all the times he made your heart pace up a little:

That one day he ran straight to you after winning the school soccer match.

Or maybe it was when you both were little and he made you a paper ring, promising to marry you one day.

Or was it the day he ki-

You were interrupted by a text message ping from your phone.

Weekly catch-up? Ah right, it was today, you'd almost let it slip from your mind.

Before you knew it, he was in your living room.

Both of you stashed away your nervousness by rambling on about what happened in the week and what happened at work, who said what, and who dissed whom. When the topic came to an end, you decided to steer the conversation.

"Min-ah."

"Hmm?"

"Remember that one time we were in the playground and you proposed to me?"

"I DID WHAT?!"

"Why is your memory so bad?"

"I really did that?! Maybe I was drunk?"

"SEOKMIN WE WERE 5! It was such a wholesome moment why can't you remember?"

This was when Seokmin saw an opening and decided to take a chance.

"I'm sorry! But I have an idea, let's recreate it."

"What do you m-"

"Shh! I'm going into character."

You were confused. What the hell did he mean recreate it? He just said he doesn't remember right?

He had your attention as he cleared his throat, shifted to face you, and took both your hands in his.

"Y/n, there's something I've come to realize about you, about us. I-I think I like you more than a friend. Every time I'm not around you, I can't help but think about you. Every time I think about us, my mind feels a little fuzzy and I can't stop grinning like an idiot. I really don't think there's anyone else who knows me as much as you do. We've grown together, and been together through our highs and lows. So I'll just cut to the chase, I think I'm in love with you."

You forgot to take a breath. D-did he just... No, he's just 'recreating' the scene right?

"Min, um-"

"Hey! Don't interrupt please, I'm not done. Look, I know this all might sound strange but, I just didn't want to ruin the bond we have, honestly, I don't even know how long I've felt like this. Lately, it's just been on my mind and if you don't feel the same, all you need to do is tell me. I completely understand. I'm really sorry for saying it like this. I know it's not the best way to confess. But I really just had to tell you."

His eyes held the truth in his heart and he nervously took in a deep breath.

"Min, you're still recreating right? Or did you mean it?"

"What do you think?"

"I think you meant it." you whispered.

"I meant every word." he whispered back.

And that's when your heart forgot how to beat. All these thoughts of him not feeling the same dissipated as a wave of something new washed over. Succumbing to your instinct, you couldn't hold back the urge to ask,

"What if I don't feel the same Min?"

His face reflected the fear that washed over him. But being the goofy little gremlin that he was, the seriousness of your question didn't stop him from cracking the most untimely joke.

"Then I'll smack you hard on the head so you forget I ever confessed and we can go back to being friends."

Before he could say another word, you launched yourself at him and wrapped him in a hug. Arms around his neck and face burried in his shoulder you were on the verge of tears at the mere thought of ever losing a friend like him.

"Min-ah I like you too! I just didn't know how to tell you but I like you too! I was scared that you don't feel the same so I just kept it to myself."

To be honest, he was a tad bit shocked. But it was all he needed to hear. Reciprocating your hug, he held you close until a stifled sniffle from you alerted him. Breaking away to look at you,

"Hey, are you crying?"

"Minnie I was so scared that I'd lose you if I confessed and you didn't like me back. I'm just really happy right now."

Tears streaked your flush cheeks as he gently wiped them away. As an attempt to hush you, he stroked your hair softly.

"I'm never gonna leave you okay? I'll be right here. Please don't cry."

"Where's my ring?"

"Ring? What do you mean?"

"You were recreating the scene right? In the playground you made me a paper ring and put it on me."

You stretched out your hand to him and wiggled you ring finger.

"I'll accept a paper ring for now," you said in a cheeky tone with a smile decorating your face.

He couldn't help but giggle and flash you the most dazzling smile you've ever seen.

"You're so adorable I could die." Placing a hand behind your head he drew you in closer and placed the softest kiss on your forehead. You giggled and so did he.

In that moment you knew that you were his and he was yours. A love that began at a tender age and finally blossomed after years of growing up in each other company.

You'd really marry this man with paper rings.
