30-25 x2, 30-26. Then she starts twerking. Good for her.

First UFC win for the Argentinian. Very dominant wrestling performance as she took AES down 10x in 15 minutes. For as dominant as Perez was and for as much cool stuff as we saw her do (head kicks from rear waist cinch>>>), this was more about Evans-Smith looking terrible. Physically could not compete, could not do anything on the feet or in the clinch which is wild cause she’s a former wrestler.

Props to Perez on her first UFC win. Sucks she couldn’t get the finish as those will get you some notice at women’s 135 but hopefully her game continues to round out and she can build a nice long career for herself.

Once upon a time, Taylor Guardado (3-1) was one of the top bantamweight prospects in the world. Fighting in TUFF-N-UFF, she compiled a 12-1 amateur record with wins over future UFC fighters like Ashlee Evans-Smith and Raquel Pennington and her only loss coming to Ronda Rousey. Then she hurt tore her knee up, got married, had kids and disappeared for like 10 years. But she came back in 2020 to make her way to the finals of the Invicta FC bantamweight phoenix tournament final, where she lost. Then she signed with PFL to compete in the women’s lightweight tournament and somehow fought her way to the finals, going 3-0.

Guardado will now face off with former PFL Lightweight tournament champion and two time Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison (11-0) in the main event of PFL 2021 #10: Championships this Wednesday (Oct. 27).

Given Fallon Fox was tweet bragging about beating women today, I thought it would be cool to rewatch the match where he lost to Ashlee Evans Smith.

If you just want to see the moment of truth, start it at about fifteen minutes.  One thing you should know about this fight is it wasn’t elegant, it was a real showcase of female endurance, and for people who say Fox can’t fight at all, naw, he can.  Smith beat him anyway.  That’s the takeaway.

I get real tired of women stipulating to male superiority all the time.  Here’s a woman who didn’t, and even more gratifying, THE CROWD WENT WILD!
