I kinda dislike how right after Ino complimented Sakura and compared her to a beautiful flower after she and Sakura squared off in the Chunin Exams, they went RIGHT back to arguing about Sasuke. Like ending it with her complimenting Sakura would've been just fine since it was already a fairly sweet scene but kishimoto ruined the moment. Let the girls pass the Bechdel test. 😔
Tumblr media
//Well--- I believe that was supposed to reflect playful banter amongst the two but I agree that it should’ve been something about training/surpassing one another without it pertaining to S/asuke at all.  Tbh, after the chuunin exams, Kishi totally forgot about their rivalry/friendship. The rivalry basically died at the chuunin exams as he didn’t really push to make it seem like they were equals by Shippuden. Their friendship only vaguely got mentioned in passing here and there which I think it should’ve held more much merit in canon throughout the series.
Ino only really got to shine when the war arc hit (they completely dropped the ball with her and chouji in a/suma’s death arc), and by then it was too late to really make her seem like she had held her own in their rivalry especially with S/akura getting her seal at the same time which made her leap up way above her. Obviously that was always going to happen, I’m not saying I expect ino to be on the same level as the main female lead, but they really should’ve shown growth within the a/suma arc so that it felt like she was continuously improving leading up to the war. That way she remained someone worth being deemed a rival, ya know? Like, she’s the rival to the MAIN female lead, they should make sure that it feel like one imo.  Having A/suma mention it in his dying words isn’t enough to make it feel like they’re really rivals.
Ino and Saku progress should’ve felt like it was head to head up until Sakura got her seal. And even after that, Ino should always be adding new skills and new abilities to her repertoire so she always make Saku want to keep on her toys and vice versa. They don’t need to have skill in the same areas, but they both be showing growth in the areas that they are respectively skilled in. In regards to their friendship, I felt like they barely got to show much they really cared for each other and instead got stuck in this cycle of picking on each other’s appearances to show they were ‘close. ’ I honestly think Kishi had established a solid bond in the Chuunin exams arc so it’s unfortunate that it didn’t really continue to get fleshed out smh.

Visiting the Ruins of Negros Occidental
Tumblr media

Market market market.
Soooo every spring and summer I get so excited about markets. Very Tita’s of Winnipeg Na ako talaga haha.
This is the third+bird spring market, which I super like ‘cause they have all the fancy stuff. Usually canadian made (kaya mas pricy, kailangan Meron kang tylenol Na baon para prepared ka Sa pag sakit ng ulo mo after mo tignan Yung presyo)
I got up early, the market opens at 10, I was there at exactly 10, and oh boy, I thought I would be first at the line up, I was sooo wrong. Considering that this isn’t a free pass market and you have to pay 5bucks, people still went (sympre mas ok ung free pass market diba Walang bayad, Ikaw Na nga ang bibili magbabayad ka pa ng entrance lol).
Finally, I got in. I was so happy! They have a map for the whole market! Haha feeling ko ako si dora in wonderland, guys Meron map! Hindi ko ma contain happiness ko nun.
Almost all of the vendors here on this event, I follow on Instagram. It felt like meeting a celebrity! Promise! Haha. The first stall I went to was the popsicle stall, ang enthusiastic, energetic, hyper ko talaga, as in all smiles pa ako, to the point na pa joker smile na HAHA which prolly creeped out the popsicle lady, haha iba kasi nung bumili ako, talagang all out energy!! Sexbomb Rochelle levels, mapapa get get awww ka!
Then after that, I bought macaroons from Jenna Rae. Jenna rae here is super popular for their macaroons, aminin ko sarap naman talaga sya, tho I felt whole day akong sugar high, at slightly naging diabetic.
After kay Jenna Rae, Soo uhaw Na ako diba. So I went looking for drinks. At Nakita ko si manong David. He sells lemonade with ginger and Apple cider vinegar with mother-in-law haha char! Mother lang haha. So lahat tayo talaga Meron nanay na pinanggalingan. I bought two bottles for $10, not bad, I finished one and the other one I brought home for my mother!
And then, nag Ikot ikot ala sarah G pa ko, my Nakita ako Na chocolate stall, different kinds of chocolates. The owner of this stall is canadian, originally from dom. Republic? (Can’t remember basta somehere out there) I bought the milk chocolate with pistachios, I super love pistachios (parang ung pagmamahal ko s ex ko Walang katulad, Pero iniwan padin ako haha char)
I went to this market looking for a specific product, Yung neighbourhood honey. Omgee!!!
Ok so about neighbourhood honey. Idk if they operate outside Winnipeg, but if they do or you know that they operate in your area, you have to try it! They put bee hives in cities! Most of the times at the rooftop of buildings. And ako I tried ung honey from our neighbourhood, kasi my place is near downtown talaga, so I was curious as to what will the honey taste like. Guurrrlll, sweet sya pero maasim! Hahaha parang ako lang nag mamaasim in life, e Ikaw ba naman ang iwan diba haha sooo I opted for a different honey from a different area. I got the Ass park honey, so alam nyo Na lasa? lasa syang pwet, haha char lang. assiniboine park (ass park) honey, sobrang daming flowers kasi don ang that area is sooo Soo pretty, ang ung honey ang heavenly ng lasa (wow! Maka heavenly naman ako) Pero promise Ang sarap!
Soo that concludes my third+bird adventure!!! In short pumunta talaga ko dahil s foods haha!
Oh, after pala I went to my fave coffee shop, tumambay lang (in short Naki charge ng fon, poorita Walang powerbank haha)
Until my next market adventure! Hearts hearts!
🌸❤️🐰😘🧚🏻‍♂️

University rations food to 107 stranded students
#PHnews: University rations food to 107 stranded students
BATAC CITY – The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) here Thursday launched a food-rationing program to help its students and front-liners cope with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) crisis.
The MMSU focused the activity, which is in line with its "bayanihan" program, more on the 107 students stranded in nearby boarding houses and dormitories when the government imposed the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine last March 16.
The "bayanihan" or the hale and hearty system of reciprocity program of the university, also intends to expand its coverage to health workers and other front-liners in Ilocos Norte.
The first batch of student-beneficiaries were those from Cagayan, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Isabela, La Union, Pangasinan, Baguio City, Bulacan, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
The activity was the result of a recent online survey conducted by the university’s Office of Student Affairs dubbed Oplan SAWAR (Student Affairs, Whereabouts, and Recourse), to determine the pressing needs of MMSU students locked in apartments and boarding houses in the province.
“We found out that they badly need food, water and alcohol. That is why we immediately responded to meet their basic needs,” Dr. Elizabeth Marfel Gagni, MMSU director for Student Affairs and Services, said, noting that the different colleges verified the result of the survey by calling the students through their cellphone numbers registered in the university.
Gagni said the students were stranded in their dormitories because they decided to stay to have better Internet connectivity for the announced online mode of instruction.
“But when the online instruction was suspended, they got stuck in their apartments and there was no public transportation available,” she said, adding that she tapped the services of the University Student Council (USC) to provide funds for the basic survival kit (BSK).
Each kit, worth PHP500, contains rice, antimicrobial soap, potable drinking water, assorted vegetables, canned goods, and noodles good for a week.
The USC is determined to shoulder the BSK of the 107 students for two weeks.
Meanwhile, under the "bayanihan" project, the university is in full swing in addressing the Covid-19 outbreak by continuously producing 70-percent alcohol from nipa sap that is being used by various front-liners in Ilocos Norte.
The university, through its National Bio-Energy Research and Innovation Center (NBERIC), has already distributed 1,400 liters of alcohol to various churches, local government units (LGUs), and agencies in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cagayan, and Kalinga.
The MMSU is also producing IlocoHol under the“Asukal Mo Alcohol Mo” program wherein all LGUs in Ilocos Norte were tapped to supply the center with molasses for the production of ethanol.
Moreover, due to the limited supply of commercial face masks in the province, the MMSU College of Industrial Technology took the lead in producing hundreds of improvised face masks using table napkins.
“I am happy because the government has recognized the efforts of MMSU in its various programs with the goal of flattening the curve of Covid-19 in Luzon,” MMSU president Shirley Agrupis said, noting that to sustain and further expand the MMSU’s capacity to support the government in reaching out to a wider area and a bigger number of recipients, its existing facilities must be augmented or supplemented. Fun in Pangasinan
What to do: Balungao Hilltop Adventure
An easy P50 will get you entrance and access to a small swimming pool. But the real attractions here are the adventure rides. Try the zip line for P300 or rent an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) for P200. Even though the ATV ride just lasts 15 minutes, Luane felt it was worth the cost. “First time kong gawin ‘yun,” said Luane. “Feeling ko action star ko.”
What to buy: Veggies and tupig at Villasis Bagsakan Public Market
Moms and foodies will love shopping at Villasis Bagsakan, a warehouse-like market where the province’s vegetables are first dropped off. Prices are low, fruits are big—what’s not to love?
At the side of main building, you’ll find a row of tupig vendors. Tupig is a sticky rice-and-coconut-cake that’s a Pangasinan signature product. It’s best to buy your tupig here, where competition keeps quality high and prices low
Get one for P5, or buy a box of 20 for P100. When you buy a box, the vendors usually throw in an extra piece for free!
Calasiao, Pangasinan
What to buy: Puto Calasio
What to watch out for: Puto Calasiao Festival (December)
Calasiao’s puto is so famous that it has its own festival! Look for the line of puto shops near the Calasiao church. Those shops are members of the Calasiao Puto Producers, a collective that makes the town’s signature snack.
What makes puto Calasiao different from puto in Manila? It’s softer, fluffier very moist. “Ang sarap ng authentic. Ito yung tunay!” said Luane. Get a bag for P85 per kilo.
Manaoag, Pangasinan
What to do: Our Lady of Manaoag Church
Devotees flock to this church with a reputation for miracles. If your road trip crosses a Sunday, why not attend mass here? The famous white and cream exterior is a good backdrop for souvenir photos.
Dagupan City
Less than 20 minutes by car from the Manaoag church is Dagupan City, home of large bangus and the restaurants that serve it in more ways than you can count.
What to do: Dawel River Cruise
Who can say no to a free cruise? This cruise, a project of last term’s local government, takes you on a 45-minute cruise that begins from the Dawel Bridge. While waiting to board the bamboo barge, you can check out the larger-than-life bangus sculptures painted by Filipino artists. We suggest coming here during the late afternoon so you can catch the sunset!
A Dagupan-based spa also has its own bamboo raft used as a floating massage center.
Where to eat: Jacobo’s Seafood Grill
Sitio Calima, Arellano Street, Dagupan City (De Venecia Road Extension, going to Bonuan)
Just five minutes from the Dawel River Cruise by car is a restaurant built on top of a bangus fishpen. Here, Pangasinan’s famous fish is big, meaty, and cooked to perfection in dishes that cost between P200 and P400, good for sharing between two people.
Inihaw na bangus is a classic, but the fun starts when you try the bangus dishes not usually served in Manila restaurants. We enjoyed the kinilaw na bangus; the bangus’ belly fat became nice and chewy in the vinegar marinade. They also serve sizzling boneless bangus, seafood pasta and ampalaya salad.
Something the kids will love: On a sunny day, you can even get a bit of fish food from a plastic container and toss it to the fish below.
What to eat: Pigar-pigar
Galvan and Gomez streets, Dagupan City
Pigar-pigar is a dish of deep-fried beef or “carabeef” (carabao meat) seasoned with onions and served on a hot plate—it’s like a cross between bistek Tagalog and sisig. At night, Galvan Street is lined on both sides with pigar-pigar shops. For just P85 for ¼-kilo of pigar-pigar, barkadas can eat well into the night.
For a more family-oriented atmosphere, try Great Taste Pigar-Pigar restaurant along Gomez, one of the streets that branch off from Galvan. Aside from the perks of dining in an air-conditioned, well-lit restaurant, the beef itself is softer and comes in more flavors.
Great Taste’s owner picks up recipes from his travels and applies them in his restaurant, which is why they serve savory teriyaki-style pigar-pigar. Check out Great Taste’s official Facebook page, where they announce seasonal promos such as the P159 eat-all-you-can deal.
Lingayen, Pangasinan
Lingayen is the capital of Pangasinan and home of the famous bagoong isda. In fact, Pangasinan’s name comes from the thriving industry of salt (asin) and salted products in the province.
What do buy for pasalubong: Bocayo
Unlike puto Calasiao, bocayo does not spoil easily and will keep for days on end. The flat brown pallets are flavored with lemon.
A piece of bocayo is around two inches on each side. Get a pack of four pieces for just P10.
What to see: Hundred Islands
Drive for one hour from the center of Lingayen to get to Pangasinan’s premier tourist destination: the Hundred Islands! Did you know that the Hundred Islands aren’t actually one hundred in number? The number varies depending on the tide—there are more islands during low tide and less during high tide.
Boat rentals go for P1,400 per day, while tour guide packages cost P800 for a group of five people. Add P600 to this and they’ll help you look for a place to stay for the night. Sounds big? Divide it among a group of five and the whole things costs just P560 per head!
Bolinao, Pangasinan
Where to stay: Punta Riviera Resort
Brgy. Ilog Malino, Bolinao, Pangasinan
From P3,000 to 5,000 a night, you can get a room for two at this cozy beachside resort. Bigger groups can try the rooms that are good for four (P4,000 a night) or good for eight (P12,000 a night). The rooms are average-sized, but are clean and have decent bathrooms.
Not in the mood for the beach? There’s a swimming pool and garden park where guests can hang out for a quiet afternoon. Breakfast is included in all the rates, as well!
What to do: Bolinao Beach
In Bolinao, you don’t need to spend for a day at the beach. The Bolinao Beach is absolutely free! Just bring P200 for a kubo to store your things, and you can swim all day. There are also vendors selling halo-halo, grilled food and cold bee
What to see: Enchanted Cave
Of all the places in Pangasinan, this is the one you shouldn’t miss. On the way to Bolinao Beach, you’ll see signs pointing to the Enchanted Cave. The cave, found inside a mountain of corals, has a pool of water so clear that you can see rocks as deep as ten feet below the surface. Entrance to the cave and pool costs P120, or P90 if you won’t swim.
Inside the cave, the cold water turns a rich shade of blue-green; in the deeper areas of the pool, the water reflects the rock ceiling above. The effect is surreal—no wonder GMA-7 shot the mermaid scenes of ‘Dyesebel’ here!
What to see: Cape Bolinao
Cape Bolinao is the second tallest lighthouse in the Philippines, second only to Ilocos’ Boreador lighthouse. While it isn’t the tallest, it does get extra coolness points for being fully operational and solar-powered.
A fork in the road on the way to the Enchanted Cave takes you to the lighthouse. Just stop by for five minutes, take a picture, and be on your way.
Where to eat: Sungayan Grill
Brgy. Balingasay, Bolinao, Pangasinan
This restaurant is named after the sungayan fish, a platter-sized fish with a single horn (sungay). We ordered a bilao of crabs, squid, sungayan, liempo, seaweed, grilled eggplants and mango salad—the whole thing was good for our crew of seven and cost only P1,300.

Profood Gallery Shoppe
