Cette rare DS Prestige appartenait à un notable marocain d'Agadir avant qu'André Trigano en fasse l'acquisition en 1978 et la ramène en France. Il s'agit d'une version à boîte manuelle et, selon l'ouvrage d'Olivier de Serres sur la DS, le nombre d'exemplaires de DS Prestige dans cette configuration serait limité à 11 exemplaires en 1969. C'est donc une pièce d'une grande rareté. Par ailleurs, cette voiture bénéficie des aménagements propres à ce modèle très exclusif, dont les modifications étaient effectuées dans les ateliers Henri Chapron, à Levallois. Ainsi, sur cet exemplaire, les compartiments avant et arrière sont isolés par une séparation à vitre remontante et la console arrière comporte une commande d'autoradio, une horloge Jaeger, des éclairages de courtoisie et des cendriers. La séparation chauffeur impose à l'avant une banquette dont la sellerie en cuir havane d'origine a été conservée, de même que celle de la banquette arrière, ce qui confère à l'ensemble une très belle allure.

A l'extérieur, la peinture a été refaite dans sa teinte noire d'origine, et la voiture présente la finition propre aux versions Pallas, avec les baguettes latérales et la présentation des bas de caisse en inox. Les joints de carrosserie ont été remplacés et la mécanique a fait elle aussi l'objet d'une remise en état.

Cette DS 21 Prestige constitue une pièce rare, qui rappelle que la DS faisait partie des voitures haut de gamme qu'appréciaient les hommes d'État ou les industriels. Les amateurs de DS sauront apprécier cet exemplaire superbement préservé

C'est à partir de l'année modèle 1968 qu'apparaît la nouvelle calandre à 4 phares sous bulle de la DS, dont les phares directionnels n'en finissent pas d'impressionner le public. Cette modification esthétique bénéficie à toute la gamme, incluant les cabriolets.

Ainsi que le confirme son attestation Chapron, le châssis 4494163 a été livré dans les ateliers du carrossier de Levallois le 13 septembre 1968 pour recevoir une carrosserie cabriolet de teinte blanc stellaire, mariée à un intérieur garni de cuir rouge. Un autoradio HiFi complétait les équipements de série et la voiture, qui porte le numéro 9270 fut livrée le 29 octobre suivant puis facturée 3 jours plus tard. S'agissant de l'année modèle 1969, la production de cabriolet DS fut limitée à 47 exemplaires, dont seuls 5 furent équipés de la boîte mécanique comme celui que nous présentons.

Immatriculée dans l'Aveyron en 1994, la voiture change de mains en 2008 et c'est à cette époque qu'elle est restaurée par le spécialiste renommé Philippe Losson, dont une liste des travaux effectués figure au dossier : démontage et remontage complet du véhicule pour réfection de la peinture, des chromes et de la sellerie en cuir noir, de la capote et des moquettes. Les travaux portent également sur une révision complète de l'hydraulique et la mécanique et le remplacement du moteur par un moteur DX2 équipé d'un système d'injection, refait à neuf. C'est en 2010 que le père de l'actuelle propriétaire en fit l'acquisition lors du Salon Rétromobile et depuis le beau cabriolet n'a été utilisé qu'avec parcimonie. Son élégante teinte gris foncé métallisé se marie particulièrement bien avec sa sellerie en cuir noir, tandis que le tableau de bord est la désirable et sportive déclinaison réalisée par Jaeger. Cet exemplaire combine la rareté de la face avant à phares couverts et de la boîte de vitesses manuelle aux performances et à la facilité d'utilisation de la mécanique à injection, tout en conservant l'élégance de la ligne et la qualité des réalisations du carrossier Chapron.

Plants and animals have always been highly symbolic in Asian cultures, imbued with special powers and attributes, and scenes from nature play an important role in Asian art history. Closely studying the correct forms and anatomy of plants and animals, artists have for centuries reproduced them in delicate and highly accurate detail. Nature-painting reached its apogee with “flower-and-bird pictures” (known as kachōga in Japan and Hwajohwa in Korea), although subjects were not limited only to flowers or birds, and those elements did not necessarily appear together. Sortir de ce bunker était en fin de compte un vrai soulagement. Le génie s’était rué prendre un grand bol d’air frais et se tenir à l’écart du peuple le plus possible pour les jours suivants. Ce qui se résumait à s’enfermer dans son atelier. Quelle meilleure sensation que d’enfin pouvoir mettre sa musique à fond sans que cela ne dérange qui que ce soit. On les avait par ailleurs quelque peu laissés tranquilles. La plupart des attaques de kaijus pouvant être contrôlée par les jaegers déjà présents sur la base. Tony ne s’en plaignait pas trop. Une partie de lui voulait rentrer au pays pendant que c’était possible... Mais quand il regardait par delà l’horizon face à lui, il ne voyait que la mort qui le hantait de l’autre côté. Rester à Hong-Kong n’était alors pas si mal.

Il n’y était pas complètement seul. Et il devait dire qu’il s’entendait mieux avec Loki qu’il n’aurait pensé au début. Ils se supportaient, c’était déjà cela. S’apprécier ? Cela venait. Ou alors était est-ce déjà là, ils ne s’en rendaient tout simplement peut-être pas compte.
