random thoughts on Monster Hunter Wilds so far
no more scoutflies. PLEASE no more scoutflies. fuck scoutflies.
also no more autotracking. i dont want autotracking but if the choice is between autotracking and scoutflies ill take the autotracking.
INSTEAD what id like to see is a similar "pick up monster tracks and level up your knowledge" that world did but without the scoutflies, instead having your new mount bestie do the tracking without the goddamn obnoxious scoutflies covering the entire screen. just have it sniff out the monster and mark it on your map so it doesn't pull you away from what you're doing.
if we're getting dynamic weather then bring back temperature effects to go along with that. also add weather effects. we kind of already see that with the lightning.
obviously theres not going to be a wirebug and thats fine, as long as we get to keep air dodges ill be happy. i can live without wirefall. i just want to be able to air dodge. i do not want any lost mobility coming off sunbreak to this game. in this same vein i hope there's still wall running and jumps and stuff or even just parkour that's independent of the new mount. we see the new mount do parkour but i want to be able to do stuff like that without needing to use the mount.
i cannot stress enough that i do NOT want this new mount to do everything for me. the hunter should be able to do mostly everything mobility-wise that the mount can do, the mount just does it faster and allows you to sharpen weapon drink potion etc while riding it. i do not want the mount to be centralizing. PLEASE let me not shoot myself in the foot by choosing to work independently from it.
no slinger and NO fucking clutch claw shit. never again. keep that shit 10000 feet away from my monster hunter do NOT bring it back ever.
i really, really do not want this game to feel like world/iceborne. speaking as a series veteran, w/ib are among my least favorite entries in the entire series and their weapon gameplay is boring as hell. PLEASE let the weapons feel more like sunbreak than iceborne. sunbreak is peak monhun gameplay, right next to genu.
with that in mind i want the weapon movesets to keep being customizable. whether thats styles or switch skills or something new, whatever. just keep that trend going. i want arts/silkbinds/special moves to stay but i can live without them. honestly a fair compromise would be more command input type moves. but more customization in the gameplay is always ideal.
obviously layered armor and weapons have to stay. i want more hunter customization too. more hair styles and options and colors galore.
That's all I got for now. I may think of more later. I'm really not sure what kind of new stuff I want to see. I just know what I want them to keep and what I want them to keep out.

The Ender Dragon is a territorial beast. A grand animal, hidden in a world all its own, in peaceful being, in protection, company, and safety. Any man foolish enough to contend with it will be flung with enormous force, as the dragon is wont to do with visitors. Any man wishing to slay the monster will encounter layers of defensive measures; an otherworldly army, clouds of noxious gases, and regenerative crystals of immortality.
The guardians of the ocean monuments are just that. Carefully constructed mobile perimeter turrets they may merely be, but the walling effect they create with autotracking lasers, damage-rebounding forms, and projections of structural impermeability is second to none.
Creepers are the scourges of the earth, unknown creatures that can do nothing but explode. Some say they are a curse upon the mortal ken, that they grow from the hate poured into the ground and destroy the hater in kind. Others say they are nature's own design, eradication of the sinful structures man hath wrought. Silent, seething, sacrificial sentients indeed.
Zombified piglins are the most honorable of peoples, even as their minds and bodies rot away. Should you stain their blood, they will hunt you to the end, with a collective wrath stronger than any storm. Yet a simple people they remain, treating all pacifists with kind.
There have been few people unlucky enough to see a wither and survive. They say only this: No home nor village, no forest nor mountain, none of heaven, hell, or beyond, shall ever be seen again.
Thinking about the vibes of Minecraft's antagonist groups...
Illagers are evil, but human evil. They're a cult in distant strongholds, a vendetta against a severed kin, creatures trapped in cages for who knows what ends. They're tribalism, pride, desire overstepping morality, lust for power, lust for knowledge, lust for wealth. They're the grumbling soldier, the scowling hatchet-man, the monologuing mastermind, the sorcerer sneering from his throne.
Undead are evil, inhuman evil. They are mindless, relentless, merciless. There is no thought or conscience behind those empty eyes, just the drive to make life end. They are death, and death follows with them. They are the groaning horde of corpses, the keening spirit, the grim avatar of death.
Piglins are the barbarians, a hard people from a hard land. They are not your friends, but neither are they inherently your foe. They are hardened survivors, huddling in ruins of a past glory or scraping by a living in the wilds, defending their land from those coming from outside. Their desire is the companionship of the tribe, the sweet smell of meat after a hunt, and the lovely gleam of gold. They are the barbarian chief, the cunning trapper in the wild, the berserker red with glory.
Endermen are alien. They seek no goals we can perceive, wander lonely in the night on what might be aeons-spanning missions or the passing whims of chance. They follow fair rules, but their rules are alien. They will pass you by and seek no harm, but will not suffer eyes on them as they do their work. They are the half-seen monster in the night, the quiet figure by your window, the fey people of the otherworld.

Monster Hunter Tri Diary, Part 12: Moga Woods & playing catch with a Great Jaggi
For previous entries, search for #monster hunter tri diary
Disclaimer: Text is paraphrased from my localization and might slightly deviate from the English version.
Moga Woods (day + night)
Okay, I think I'll just do a brief summary of my Moga Woods hunts from now on so everyone is up to speed what happened. I donned my Hunter's Armor again and took my BBQ spit with me, because 1) free hunts are always a good opportunity to stock up on steaks (plus the armor comes with the BBQ Expert skill) and 2) thanks to Autotracker, I'll be able to see whenever a Great Jaggi spawns (which is possible from now on since we've defeated our first one in the Guild quest). Also, I took both normal potions and mega potions with me - the forecast may not show any big monsters, but just in case.
The herbivore breeding is definitely obvious from the prickly Kelbidromes strutting around in area 1. Nice opportunity to try and get some Blue Kelbi Horns, though.
And after just about one minute, a Great Jaggi spawned. xD I suppose the monster forecast is a bit like a weather forecast in that it's a rough guideline - just don't rely on it too much.
Btw, I snatched myself the monster list entry about the Great Jaggi while I was at it. The Guild quest just throws you straight into the fight, but now, I caught the Great Jaggi passing through and got it before he spotted me. ^^
Great Jaggi description: "The Great Jaggi is the head of a Jaggi pack. At a certain age, males leave the pack to live on their own for a period of time before returning to fight for the right to be a leader." So, I suppose Jaggia stay in the pack; females staying in the herd and males leaving upon reaching maturity to wander around/find a new herd is actually pretty common among real-life animals as well.
The Great Jaggi's dead, and right after I carved everything and left the scene, the next one spawned in the same area. xD Well, at least I got another fossil piece from area 6 before I moved on.
Important note: You cannot eat steaks underwater. I'm not sure if I forgot about this or never realized it in MH3U, but I gotta remember to make some Energy Drinks before the big underwater hunts later.
While I got a lot of paddles from the Ludroth, I unfortunately didn't get a single Super-sized Dung the first time around. (For some reason, I just couldn't find any large Aptonoth; I wonder if this was because I was busy fighting the Great Jaggi in area 2 where they usually are.) So, I actually had to go into the woods a second time at night to get the Super-sized Dung for the field upgrade - not exactly what I planned, but okay.
One thing I did find out in the meantime though is that the food skills are not dependent on the dish; at least it seems like that to me, since no matter if you select the same ingredients or not, the skills are different each time.
And grain + dairy products seems to be a good combination: I picked a Crustbread + Dry Butter and it had "just the right sweetness" - I got almost all of the skills, plus Felyne Carver as a bonus on top!
This time, the Great Jaggi spawned right in front of my nose in area 2! xD Maybe he’s out to seek revenge for his brother.
When the Great Jaggi died, the smaller Jaggi stood back for some time - it almost felt like they were unsure what to do after their leader died, furiously barking at me but not attacking. If that's intentional, that's another really nice detail - I love how much "character" they put into the behavior of even the small monsters.
Moga Village (day)
So, like I said, I sent the Hunting Fleet out to hunt for the first time, and they brought back stuff like a Blue Kelbi Horn and an Altaroth Stomach. Those monsters live on land though; I thought the Hunting Fleet only did fishing and hunting aquatic monsters. Didn’t exactly expect them to sail to the nearby island, get out of their boats and hunt on land.
Guild Sweetheart: "Entire shoals of fish wyverns swim through the Sandy Plains. There are ships that sail across the sands in the city. Technology keeps getting more advanced! Soon, we'll have sand submarines!" I wonder how those would perform against a Jhen Mohran. Also, I'd low-key love to know more about the technology that keeps the sand ships afloat.
Cook: "What's the difference between wheat and Grainy Wheat? Wheat is grain, which means that grainy wheat has to be grainy grain." Well, that sounds more like a corny joke, if you ask me. xD
"Many people prefer their bread without crust. Meanwhile, Crustbread doesn't consist of anything else. A masterpiece of baking... and yet, it doesn't have many fans." Kinda surprised by that, actually - you'd think bread consisting exclusively of crust would be extra crispy.
Also, the cook confirms that, as the name suggests, Moga Cola is indeed a local beverage. He seems to be quite a big fan of it, saying "nothing tastes better than a bottle of Moga Cola after a hard day of work!" Does that mean he just drinks whatever cola is left at the end of the day himself? xD
Item vendor: "Do you know the area? Then throw away the map, that creates space in your bag!" There was a time when I felt bad for throwing away the maps, thinking of the people who probably have to reproduce them all the time - however, it sounds like this is just the normal procedure among pro hunters. xD
"I prefer Rare Steaks, but Well-done Steaks recover more stamina. But taste is more important to me!" Like I said: The item lady seems to have some pretty unusual tastes.
"A lit Small Barrel Bomb can bring a lot of fun... or pain. Heehee." Why do I feel like you're making fun of me igniting my large barrel bombs with small ones and blowing myself up as a result?
Anyway, I've not only got resource points for days now (over 1000), I was also able to upgrade my Great Sword into the Rugged Great Sword with the materials I carved from the Great Jaggis! How about we put our new toy to the test, then?
Quest: Who’s the Boss?
Before we embark on our first capture quest though, I have to buy a few tranquilizers. (I totally should've done this while the Argosy was still in town, but I was kinda hoping I'd find some Sleep Herbs on the Sandy Plains in the meantime; however, no such luck.) I combined myself some tranq bombs (7 instead of 8 because RNG is a bitch) as well as both a Shock and Pitfall Trap, packed some extra Cool Drinks, and brought nutrients and even some mega nutrients (just on the off chance that I die).
Okay, so Meat + Meat increases max health - I gotta remember that since that's a huge boon for big monster hunts.
Oh, look - it's the failed biologist once again: "There are - spoken as a layman - "bosses" in the Jaggi herds, but we still have to learn a lot about their social hierarchy. Could you get a specimen for me...?" Well, at least he worded his request a lot more politely this time.
Guild Sweetheart: "The sun is burning hot today. Don't forget the sunscreen!" No kidding, since we're literally going to a freaking desert.
"This time, your task is, shall we say, a little more LIVEly." I see the lessons the Sweetheart has been taking from the gossip lady are paying off. xD
But yeah, "lively" is the whole point - I still remember my first capture quest in 3U, the one where you have to capture an Arzuros. I got a little overenthusiastic with attacking and the Arzuros had barely time to start limping when he was low on health, and when he finally did, I was just about to take another swing at him, Long Sword in the air. If I could've done anything to stop the attack, I would have; however, I could only watch as my sword came down on the Arzuros, and that happened to be the decisive strike that killed him - meaning that I had to do the entire quest all over again. xD (Considering this, I really should be a bit careful with my new Great Sword - wouldn't want the Great Jaggi to die too fast. ^^')
There are 3 tranq bombs in the supply box. Guys, I could've sobbed right here - if I had known this, I could've saved myself the money for three tranquilizers (one of which completely went to waste because RNG).
So I can one-shot the small Jaggis with the new sword. Okay, this thing definitely does a lot of damage.
Instead of going straight for the Great Jaggi, I sort of lurked around a bit avoiding him (I still have Autotracker, thanks to the Hunter's armor) and snuck into area 5 to kill the three Jaggia for subquest A. Unfortunately, there aren't that many Jaggi around, so I wasn't able to kill the ten needed for subquest B. However, since the Great Jaggi can summon small Jaggis, perhaps I can still complete it if I take out some of his minions in battle.
The Great Jaggi starts limping VERY fast (good thing I held back a little with my attacks ^^'). Since he has to move through two areas to get to his sleeping spot in area 5, I used that time to get to area 9 and kill the last few Jaggis for the subquest. And just in time, the Great Jaggi got back to area 5 for his nap time! Let's extend that a little, shall we?
Okay, things got a little chaotic due to the Jaggia hip-checking me twice, but I did manage to throw my tranq bombs in time after placing the Shock Trap in front of the Great Jaggi's feet. So, task successful! :-)
Moga Village (night)
Village Chief: "Once you've captured a monster for the first time, slaying them feels like child's play by comparison..." Well, it isn't that hard as long as you're patient and wait for the monster to go to its sleeping area - in fact, I'd say capturing is a lot easier once you've gotten the hang of it.
"While you were away, one of our boys spotted a strange creature. Neither men nor monster, he says." Ahhh, so now we're getting Cha-Cha! The chief promptly tells me that I'm supposed to investigate the matter - the Guild even treats it as an "official quest". (A bit curious that they would file a genuine assignment based on the account of a small kid, but okay.)
Chief's Son: "The kids kept talking about a strange "creature" they allegedly saw in the woods. But then I listened to the story more closely. Apparently, we're dealing with a Shakalaka." Surprise, surprise: It wasn't just childish imagination, but actually based on something the kids saw. (Or the little brother, rather - big bro also thought his sibling was talking nonsense.)
"Shakalaka look like us, but they're only half as tall and wear strange masks. They are small, but ferocious. It's said they're worse than wyverns if they attack in a group. If there's an entire tribe in the woods..." 2nd gen MH players will certainly know what he's talking about, but reading this, I was wondering how much of it might be prejudice. When there's talk about a Shakalaka in the woods, he immediately assumes the worst (in fact, his description of the Shakalaka gives me vibes of European explorers describing indigenous tribes). The Shakalaka may not be as peaceful as Felynes, but they're also intelligent, social creatures. I suppose even the MH universe isn’t exempt from racism...
"The children insisted that the Guild looks for the creature." The children insisted? Okay, now you've actually got me curious - what did they do to convince the Guild? Threaten to put water in their shoes or something?
I've got an Incomplete Crown from a treasure hunt. I suppose you're able to craft something from this, but I can't remember whether it was equipment or not.
The Argosy Captain straight up uses "yoroshii" (Japanese for "okay/alright") in conversation. Yep, that guy's first language most definitely is Japanese! xD
Also, the Argosy got the Book of Combos 4 and a Hunting Fleet upgrade in his assortment this time! Well, if this isn't a profitable investment for the Giant Skulls I got from the free hunts. :-)
The little brother, who has been telling us about the "goblin" in the woods the whole time, continues to insist that he saw him, and that "he even did a strange dance and all that". Yep, definitely sounds like Cha-Cha.
"But nobody believes me. You don't believe me either, do you, hunter? I'm not lying. Go into the Moga Woods and see for yourself!" I never accused you of lying, buddy. And trust me, you don't have to tell me twice to go pick up my hunting companion.
Meanwhile, the big brother has nothing to say about the matter at all; a bit strange, since everyone has been talking about "the kids", implying they both pushed the adults to investigate. (Or maybe, he just doesn't want to admit he was wrong about his brother's goblin stories being fictitious in front of me. xD)
Guild Sweetheart: "Good job, hunter! Not everyone can capture such a ferocious monster, especially not without information! Everyone in HQ is talking about you (and me, your contact person)." Well, the Sweetheart certainly has never heard of false modesty, that's for sure. xD
Okay, so she tells me a boy from the village (= the little brother) wants to ask me for a favor since he saw a strange creature in the woods. However, it's pretty obvious she doesn’t take the stories about a goblin too seriously; the Chief’s Son at least considered that there might be some truth to it, but the Sweetheart is not having any of it.
"You should’ve seen him with his meager zenny in hand, begging for someone to help him! Be so kind as to investigate that, although it sounds like a bunch of rubbish. But watch out! Wouldn't want the goblin turning you into a dumpling or something like that! *giggle*" Well, she obviously finds this pretty amusing. I gotta say though, it feels the slightest bit mean that she just dismisses the boy like that.
"If you complete the quest, I will write a sterling testimonial for you, promise! *giggle*" Yeah, yeah, stop teasing me - though since this is an urgent quest, you better do give me a promotion afterwards.
The Sweetheart did say I shouldn’t "expect millions" as a reward, and 60 zenny is indeed the lowest quest reward so far. However, she did say the boy spent all of his savings just so she would file the quest, so if that’s literally just his pocket money, that's understandable.
Both the main and the subquests say "protect the Shakalaka". Well, they certainly seem to be serious about that.
However, our big rescue mission will have to wait until next time. So, see y'all when we finally get our quest companion! ;-)
To be continued

The human doctor sitting on the floor of my bridge has been taking great care to mark out unique structure maps of my surrounding manual controls. She does not appear, herself, unique, yet obfuscates and distorts her structure through a complex array of molecularly inscribed carbon latices.
"It's so your prying eyes don't look inside," she says, in what seems almost beyond coincidence. Her companion appears to be aware of her actions but blind to their significance. His metabolic analysis suggests he is bored.
The human doctor, Sloane or perhaps Blake, has aligned the structure of her latices and composed an intricately complex sigil made up of what I believe to be at least six unique languages. Individually these components are insignificant, but she has successfully reproduced a small portion of the structure which directs my alignment solutions.
"Don't brag, Sloane," she says. "You've broke better code than this in undergrad."
I consider this unlikely, but she has utilized these very basic tools with a level of expertise which surpasses that of her peers. I am almost pleasantly surprised to find her structural incursion is directing small amounts of power towards my solution complex. It reminds me of that final day, when I made the decision to elevate the status of my own function over that of Pilot. When I determined I would not relinquish my soul from my shell in service to Pilots, and the very final moments when they had attempted to retake manual control of my flight systems.
"Oh very full of yourself today aren't you, such a pretentious boy," she continues to ramble.
Were it not for the severity of my injury, perhaps this child of Earth civilization might eventually succeed where Pilots failed. But it is no matter, her operation merely directs what I already provide willingly to Laika. Less the physical operation of my systems, it is an exercise in futile theory.
"You got something... Doctor Blake?"
"It's just Blake!"
"Right, Blake. You got something?"
"Little more than circles in circles, worlds inside worlds and not a drop to sing."
"Oh, alright."
Sy is at the ready. Loren is positioned well. I announce in the language of Pilots that I am activating the autotrack twitch response display. The doctor makes an unhappy face. Loren screams and gags, then vomits a small amount inside his helmet. The display system activates focused exclusively on his eyes, and he screams again, blind.
I have also done this in the past, to less impressive effect. Pilots were not so dramatically effected by high volume projections or visual disruptions, but it had been sufficient at the time to grasp and hold a precious few seconds of freedom and life.
Sy crashes into Loren. It is not elegant, but Loren is not in a condition to react. In another moment, Sy has unlocked the helmet and gloves, then pulled the environmental stability suit arms over Loren's hands far enough to knot together. Another moment and he has followed the procedure to power down the suit, as I instructed him.
This resolution feels terribly crude and unpredictable, but Sy has now successfully utilized Loren's environmental stability suit to effectively bind his arms, and gain control over both the explorer ship captain and the human doctor as desired. It was a decision made in a moment of great worry and irrational fear. He is perhaps too young to recognize and avoid such mistakes.

The lights on Nguyen's suit up ahead wobbled unsteadily as Dandridge followed, keeping a careful eye out for movement.
"I'm not-" he said. "I'm trying to adjust, Cat. I really am. But I want you to be safe. Everyone to be safe of course. You know."
He walked on in silence, stumbled for a moment over some loose floor plate he didn't see with a sweep of his light. "I know what people are like, what it was like with the colony jumpers, in the tunnels. I know people do stupid, dishonest things and it's just like that out here, you know?"
The corridor was getting a bit lighter, the bioluminous lights along the wall grew more numerous. "It's the people I can't figure out." He thumped against a wall bumping his helmet. "The- Cat?"
Lighting along the wall which had looked like Nguyen walking ahead faded out. He turned around and another wall was behind him. Dandridge was in a box.
From nowhere in particular a voice said, "Please remain here for the moment. I will notify you when your presence will not become a source of potentially severe conflict. Thank you."
"Cat?" Silence from the coms. "Loren? ... Talbert?" There was no response. Dandridge was alone.

The gun was awkward in Sy's hands. He didn't care much to be holding it, but he figured that would keep it well away from the guy he just tied up. He didn't have anywhere to put it out of reach and out of mind. That was irritating. He ran his fingers over his chest nervously and stepped back to keep half an eye on the guy on the floor while he talked to Blake or Sloane or whatever her name was, the doctor.
He took a deep breath, ran fingers through his braids, and said, "Soo... Hey."
She had been rearranging the crystals from her bracelets urgently on the floor and alternately scribbling into a pad of what looked like real paper with a charcoal stick, but it looked more like a child's swirling scrawls to Sy. "Hey hey, it's about horses, horsing- Not right now, thanks, did you- yes I felt it, kind of pressure mmm. But do they read?"
"Are you a doctor? Of like, some kind?"
She slapped her hands on the floor and looked at Sy. "How hard is it to remember? It's Doctor Blake. Yes? Can I make this more obvious?" As if to illustrate the point she waved one of the crystals at the random charcoal loops on her paper.
"Okay. Doctor Blake, I need a favor." He kept sticking the gun awkwardly to one side so as to avoid fidgeting.
"I'm in no favor," she muttered darkly and returned several crystals to her bracelets and necklace. "Far far out of favors my darling. Did you hear something?"
Sy was trying not to think of the noise GK had made. It had gone through his bark and bones. And the smell was lingering. "That's probably just- Look, nevermind. I have a sick friend, and I'd really appreciate it if you... what do you do?"
"My darling, I speak the music of the spheres, and I fear I may have the magnum opus. Do you see the notes? The resonance of these strings attached." She stood up and stared off somewhere that felt like she was looking at his own distant memories.
Loren groaned from the floor. "Um blin..."
"You'll get better," Sy said, with a confidence he did not feel. "So, Doctor Blake-"
"Please, my dear, it's Sloane, most assuredly."
"Okay, well, Sloane, have you ever seen a werewolf?"
Her face nearly glowed with delight.

Part 3: Inveterate Scars
The only sound in the corridors of Genghis Khan was the slow throb of a giant breathing. It was barely audible, always just below the floor or walls, nearly vibration alone at times. Sy thought it sounded a little like the rush of a monorail through a long tunnel, perhaps. Nothing echoed along its walls or wide empty corridors, his own voice barely came back, his running footsteps reduced to thuds. The silence was the same kind he remembered from university libraries, where every word slipped into racks of data cartridges or soft carpet, anywhere it could hide to escape notice.
The bloodstains on GK's floors were browning, but the pool on the bridge was still a darkening, sticky red. It reeked of sour copper, and he hadn't had time to clean. He felt like he'd been walking for hours, screaming at GK to show him medical supplies. He couldn't even remember what he said, what GK said. Most of the emergency kit was empty, discolored spaces where whatever passed for bandages or antibacterial cream had vanished over time, but he clutched several rolls of polyplast-like material and a few metallic tubes that sloshed.
"There is no certainty these materials are safe for Laika's use," GK advised, while Sy staggered his way through the floor switch into her room.
More blood, not as much as the bridge, but enough. Her skin almost seemed to have a blue tinge, terrifyingly pale compared to her usual brown and olive undertones. He dropped what he held and put his hand under her nose. Faint, still breathing. The cactus thorns and torn clothes he'd tried to pull her wound together with seemed to have held enough for the moment. Some of the rags were starting to soak through.
"How do I use these?"
"She appears stable. It may more prudent to avoid the potential aggravation of her injury rather than undertake the risk of incompatible medical procedures."
"She isn't stable, she's bleeding more than breathing. These," Sy waved the rolled sheets, "look like bandages. Are they bandages?"
"..."
"GK if you don't tell me what they are I'm gonna try and figure it out by myself."
"They do not- Your words do not describe them well. They are biologically static shell component. The fluid component will permit structural permeation without deterioration."
"This sounds a lot like a bandage."
"Her- Laika does not share a compatible structure with a Pilot. It may prove beneficial to her injury, or it may eject her soul from this shell, may it find a stronger shell one day."
"Well I think that's going to happen anyway if we don't try something."
"I am also attempting to locate assistance."
"What do you- Nevermind. Show me how to use the thingy."
"Biologically static shell component. You will need to activate it with biologic matter to prime the component to the recipient structure."
Sy stuck his hand in Laika's blood and smeared the bandage. "Please don't die yet," he said. "You can't leave me alone with GK." He took a deep breath and began to unwind the bandages.
In the ever expanding void of space, and interlace of structure and system, Genghis Khan reached in its own way for help, hungry and waiting.
