Awesomenauts, a game I thought was in maintenance mode for years, got a large update today, with patch notes listing the future plans. I'm really liking this trend of dead games being bought by new dev teams and revived. (Partly because most of my all-time favorite multiplayer games are long dead, but you take what you can get.) Gotta say Awesomenauts was not on the list of games I expected to get this treatment since it was still available and running, but I'll take it.

Anyone remember/know Awesomenauts? It was the only MOBA I ever really got into. It's effectively gone now, but I wanted to show my appreciation with this fanart of my main: the Scoop of Justice.

I don't see anyone outside of the Steam discussions for Awesomenauts talk about Awesomenauts, even after Romino's bankruptcy and the shutting down of the main servers.

I loved this game and enjoyed it while it lasted, but I think it's over. Glad I played it when I did, though.

Even if the community hates each other as MOBA communities often do, it is a little sad to see it go.

A few people are saying that it's going to make a comeback or that it's gonna be revitalized with the new acquisition, but I don't want to get my hopes up for something that's up in the air. I've seen enough video game news to know that it's better to prepare for the worst.

I'll remember this game for its sheer wealth of personality and the games where things went as "smoothly as possible".

Maybe I'll do some doodles of the characters to keep them fresh in my mind.
