#BUT THEN IT FALLS APART AT LE'GARDE

I was trying to make an AU where I basically assigned characters to the roles of the Fear and Hunger characters, but calling anyone them the Le’garde feels like an insult. Like...I can think of no greater insult than to assign a person as the Le’Garde of their game. The person who thinks they are hot shit and is willing to commit horrific acts in service of a ‘greater good’ but can do literally nothing except for fail right as they believe they are about to succeed because they are fundamentally unable to understand other people as detailed beings who strive for their own goals vs a generalized and undifferentiated group of people who they claim to be fighting for the betterment of while being incapable of understanding the actual wishes of those people. A being who sees themself as virtuous while actively causing most of the problems they claim to want to ‘solve’ and ruining the lives of all those who ever cared about them in service of a goal that was flawed from the beginning. The God of Assholery and Hypocrisy.
Anyways, the Pale King is the Le’Garde of Hollow Knight.

Thoughts on a yandere le'garde?
Le'garde thinks himself- no, knows himself to be bound for great things. And you, having caught his attention and favor, are clearly the same, even if it may just be by association.
It doesn't matter if you want it, it doesn't matter if you don't feel the same. Le'garde will drag you kicking and screaming into the Ancient City and to the Throne of Ascension if he must. You belong to him. You are his, just as he is yours, and he cannot imagine a life without you by his side.
He will become a god of this world, will unify all people so that no more blood will be shed. He will become a king and you will rule by his side. And as much as he wanted to be the first to ascend, he couldn't exactly trust you to follow after him of your own accord.
With all the strength he had left, he'd gather you in his arms and push you toward the Throne, grabbing at your arms to prevent you from striking him. You try to squirm free in his grip, thrashing wildly. The sound of blood sings in Le'garde's ears, nearly drowning out the sounds of your allies crying out for him to stop and the sounds of their footfalls rapidly approaching.
But, it's too late. The edge of the throne hits the back of your knees and you fall backward onto the golden sear. One second, you're there, eyes filled with betrayal and shock, and in the next, you're gone. A manic, victorious grin splits apart Le'garde's face, hair wild and falling into his face.
Before your friends can grab for him or attack, he takes his seat at the Throne of Ascension, knowing he'd join you soon.
After all, you are his god and he is yours. Your love for each other will be everlasting.
