That is the reason why organizations opt for reliable Electronic Data Destruction Services in order to stay protected. Here’s an introduction to data destruction.
An Introduction to E-Data Destruction
Data destruction, also referred to as data processing, is the electronic as well as automated data destruction procedure. In this process, the original document would entirely be inaccessible and unreadable upon data destruction.
Tumblr media
The data is found in the age of technology, and even the small businesses would be able to create a wide range of data which ultimately become outdated or redundant. The information includes specific reports written and saved by personnel. Deleting information is a complex process, and therefore, choosing one of the most reliable E Waste Recycling Services becomes your ultimate savior.

Conquerors Should Use the Metro
I couldn’t help myself. After participating in this Twitter thread, I threw together a drabble about what would happen if the Horde tried to conquer Earth, starting with Washington D.C.
I need to be stopped.
=========================
TRANSCRIPT. AIR DATE 8/26/20XX.
ANNOUNCER: This is an ABC News special report.
ANCHOR: Good afternoon. I'm Lance D'Abcesse, reporting from ABC News headquarters. A situation is developing in central Washington D.C., where a man and a troop of autonomous military robots are wreaking havoc on a Georgetown neighborhood.
[Scene: Arial drone footage of a Georgetown residential neighborhood, where police are crouching behind their vehicles, pointing weapons at a dozen Horde battle bots. The bots proceed to ignite empty cars and recycling bins with laser fire.]
ANCHOR: According to law enforcement, around 12:45 p.m. Eastern, a belligerent man arrived in this quiet Georgetown neighborhood, accompanied by a dozen military robots. Eyewitnesses report that the man kicked in the doors of several white houses and demanded an audience with "Earth leaders" to negotiate "the planet's surrender". The man was described as roughly seven feet tall with blue hair and red eyes, wearing armor and a skull mask. His skin appears to be dyed blue, leading police to speculate that he may be a disgrunted Dallas Cowboys fan. The man is also armed with what appears to be an arm-mounted T-shirt canon.
[Scene: Hordak stands at the threshold of a white residential home. After vaporizing the door with a shot from his laser canon, he saunters into the house. Several seconds later, Hordak runs out of the house, shielding his head with his free arm as an old woman smacks him with a broom.]
ANCHOR: FBI intelligence officials intercepted the following electronic communication between the man and an accomplice.
"Any luck finding the leaders, Hordak?"
"No. I've stormed ten white houses searching for Earth's sovereigns, but all I've uncovered are elders, housewives, and children. These Earth commoners have battered me with brooms, thrown appliances at my head, and berated me for interrupting their video games."
"The planet's rulers have to be around here somewhere!"
"Clearly, this "Bai-Din" and his courtiers are too cowardly to face me on the battlefield!"
"Hordak, honey, let's regroup. Just take the Blue Line or the Orange Line to the Smithsonian Metro Station."
"I am NOT navigating that subterranean labyrinth again. The city's underground tunnels are more confusing than Crypto Castle. I will go on foot."
"Okay, but the Metro's quicker. Listen, I've secured all the Smithsonian museums with EKS bots. The visitors thought they were some kind of science exhibit! They loved them! I'll be waiting for you at the National Air and Space Museum. There's so much science here! They have a space suit testing android! We need to build a science museum in the Fright Zone when we get--Emily, don't knock over that display!"
ANCHOR: Another developing story is taking place in Washington D.C. at the National Air and Space Museum. An unidentified woman entered the building with five military robots and began climbing on exhibits. Visitors were evacuated by museum staff, and security guards were chased by robots when they attempted to remove the woman. ABC News correspondent Anita Beere was granted access to the museum.
[Scene: Entrapta sits on top the Lunar Module LM-2 as a journalist points a microphone at her.]
ENTRAPTA: So after Hordak conquered Etheria and we figured out how to get Etheria out of Despondos, he thought that conquering the nearest neighbor would make an even better impression on Horde Prime. We were supposed to meet up with the rest of our troops, but they insisted on driving here in tanks and skiffs. I told them to use the Metro! Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio got lost somewhere near Logan Circle. Last I heard, Catra and Scorpia wound up in Baltimore, somehow.
BEERE: Once the Horde conquers Earth, what does Hordak plan to do with the planet?
ENTRAPTA: That's the thing. The Horde doesn't really do anything with the places it conquers. He'll probably slap some bat-symbols on everything and call it a day.
BEERE: Witnesses claim that you brought a toddler inside with you. Is it wise to bring a small child along for a war campaign?
ENTRAPTA: Imp? Oh, he won't cause too much mayhem.
[Imp flies through the air and lands on the module next to Entrapta. Imp opens his mouth, and a recording of a woman flows from his lips: "Mr. President, the situation in Georgetown has devolved into--OH GOD A DEMON BABY!"]
BEERE: How does the Horde plan to conquer a planet of almost 8 billion people with a handful of troops and robots?
ENTRATPA: Ei...eight...billion...people?
BEERE: That's right. Earth's population is 7.8 billion people.
[Entrapta's hair twitches. Her eye twitches. She stares blankly at the journalist, then extracts a recorder from her overalls pocket.]
ENTRAPTA: Log entry 1094. Earth has almost 8 billion people. Our earlier intelligence reports were...in error. I'm going to need to build more robots.
ANCHOR: ABC News will closely monitor both situations in Washington. In other news, thirteen people were injured in the Inner Harbor district of Baltimore, Maryland. Witnesses at Phillips Seafood claim that a woman in a cat costume became argumentative when the restaurant ran out of blue crabs. A brawl ensued with other patrons after the woman reportedly asked, "Why do you [EXPLETIVE] people put Old Bay on everything?" and "Why are you idiots obsessed with ravens?" The woman was last seen fleeing toward Harborplace in a hovercraft with a woman dressed as a steamed crab.

Locksmith Services - Everything You Wanted To Know About Locksmith Services
When you lock yourself out of your car and call for the lock picking services of a GS-Locksmith, you have first-hand experience with one of the job skills of the locksmith. If needing a locksmith made you late for your appointment, you probably have very mixed feelings about the services of a GS-Locksmith. On the one hand, there is relief when the locksmith helps to gain access to the vehicle, but self-condemnation for needing the lock picking services of a locksmith in the first place.
Being a GS-Locksmith is a good career when as a locksmith you can help someone by a few minutes of lock picking. However, there is more to being a locksmith than lock picking.
Historically, a locksmith was a revered artisan and a lock was a work of art. Lock picking was also a common occupation, but didn't have the public's appreciation. The locksmith created while lock picking masters challenged the creation of the locksmith. A study of the locksmith throughout history is a fascinating peek into artistry and security. Often lock picking skills kept pace with those of the locksmith.
A GS-Locksmith today does not make locks, but performs lock picking, lock repair, and cleaning locks. The usual locksmith is routinely called to bring his locksmith tools to install new locks. Although a GS-Locksmith in a small town wouldn't have enough to do if he only did lock picking to help people with missing keys, the GS-Locksmith is best known for this aspect of his work.
The GS-Locksmith will also clean and repair broken locks. Sometimes a GS-Locksmith is hired to do a check of the security system. The locksmith may try lock picking to test the entrances. A GS-Locksmith is called when a company replaces locks on entrance doors. The GS-Locksmith is called when replacement or repair work is needed for safes or vault locks. The locksmith is the one who checks security systems after a burglary, fire or earthquake.
A company may call a GS-Locksmith to recycle older locks so that a new code appears in the place of the older one. The locksmith then replaces original locks with renovated locks.
We hold intruders responsible for lock picking, but a locksmith does the same thing, only legally. A locksmith may be hired specifically to stop those with lock picking skills. Electronic locks and key-less security systems require that a locksmith have a whole new battery of lock picking skills.

TEFLON® IN YOUR MAKEUP?
Teflon® in your makeup? Yuck. This non-stick ingredient and other fluorinated compounds have been associated with delayed menstruation, later breast development and cancer.
WHAT ARE FLUORINATED COMPOUNDS? Fluorinated compounds are ngredients built around the element fluorine, a halogen element, with properties similar to chlorine and bromine, which are common in flame retardant chemicals.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR ON THE LABEL: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), Polyperfluoromethylisopropyl Ether, DEA-C8-18 Perfluoroalkylethyl Phosphate, Teflon.
Fluorinated compounds are extremely stable and as a result do not break down in the environment. They have been found in remote regions of the world, including the polar ice caps.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) appears to be the most common fluorinated compound in cosmetics. It is used most widely in anti-aging products and cosmetics, likely because it provides a smooth, sleek finish. PTFE is trademarked as Teflon®, for use in non-stick cookware.
PTFE is generated using another fluorinated compound, perfluorooctonoic acid (PFOA), which may leave residual amounts of PFOA in the final ingredient. The US EPA initiated the PFOA stewardship program to reduce PFOA residues in consumer products.4 While research suggests that most PFOA exposure results from its use in food contact items, indirect exposure from consumer products is also likely. PFOA in food contact materials may be as high as 300 ppb (in popcorn bags); but to our knowledge, no studies have yet assessed PFOA contamination in cosmetics containing PTFE.
HEALTH CONCERNS: Potential contamination with perfluorooctonoic acid (PFOA) which is associated with cancer; mammary cancer; reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption and environmental bioaccumulation and persistence.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer reviewed the research on PTFE, and determined the current data was inconclusive with regard to PTFE’s potential to cause cancer. However, a wide-ranging literature has linked PFOA, which can be a contaminant of PTFE-containing consumer products, to health effects. In addition to the specific health effects from PFOA’s, researchers have found evidence that exposures to fluorinated compounds may increase the carcinogenicity of other chemicals when exposures occur together.
PFOA has been found in body fluid samples from 99.7 percent of the U.S. adults. Other studies have found PFOA in blood serum samples taken from adults from nine countries on four continents, and an additional study found PFOA in every one of the umbilical cord blood samples from newborns in Baltimore. Higher levels of the chemical in cord blood were associated with both lower birth weight and smaller size, indicating an effect of PFOA on prenatal development.
Cancer: The International Agency for Research on Cancer has designated PFOA as a possible carcinogen. Changes have been observed in mammary gland development in animals, which may have implications for breast cancer risk in exposed girls. The mammary gland may be especially sensitive to PFOA exposure, and both prenatal and early postnatal exposure may lead to concerning changes in mammary gland development.
One study found elevated levels of fluorinated compounds in Greenland Inuit women with breast cancer compared to Inuit women without breast cancer. A study of highly contaminated regions of Ohio and West Virginia found elevated levels of testicular, prostate, kidney and ovarian cancers and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma among individuals with higher exposures to PFOA.
Endocrine Disruption: PFOA exerts effects on the endocrine system, disruptingestrogen receptors, thyroid receptors, steroid hormones, and male testosterone levels. Another study found further evidence that PFOA can act as an estrogen on its own, but this study also found that in the presence of the natural estrogen, estradiol, PFOA acted as an anti-estrogen.
Higher concentrations of PFOA and a related compound perfluorooctane sulfanate (PFOS) were associated with current thyroid disease among US adults.
Delayed Puberty: In southeastern Ohio, adolescent girls with higher levels of PFOA in their blood, were more likely to have delayed onset of menstruation. Another study of Ohio girls demonstrated that exposures to higher levels of PFOA were associated with later breast development. While earlier breast development is a known risk factor for breast cancer, these data support a potential endocrine-disrupting effect of PFOA, which may lead to other health effects later in life.
Reproductive Toxicity: PFOA is a known developmental toxicant. PFOA exposure in utero leads to reduced weight gain during lactation, delayed sexual maturation and death in rodents. In humans, PFOA exposure was associated with pregnancy-induced hypertension (high-blood pressure), and PFOS was associated with reduced birth-weight in full-term infants. Higher levels of the chemical in cord blood were associated with both lower birth weight and smaller size, indicating an effect of PFOA on prenatal development. In a novel study of PFOA exposures among pregnant women in an electronic waste recycling area in China, mothers living in the area had higher PFOA levels than mothers in other areas; and exposures were associated with delayed physical development and adverse birth outcomes.
Other effects Both PFOA and PFOS have been associated with changes to the immune response, including inflammation. Research does not suggest an association between early life PFOA exposure and obesity in adulthoodor Type II diabetes.
VULNERABLE POPULATIONS: Pregnant women, children
HOW TO AVOID: To avoid PFOA exposure from personal care products, skip products with polyperfluoromethylisopropyl ether, polytetrafluoroethylene, DEA-C8-18 perfluoroalkylethyl phosphate or Teflon® on the label.
REGULATIONS: PFOA: US EPA set a provisional health advisory for levels above .4 ppb in drinking water.

What is a Substantially Identical Outfall for Stormwater Permits [40 CFR 122.21(g)(7)]
Federal EPA and state NPDES permitting authorities are authorized at 40 CFR 122.21(g)(7) to allow stormwater permit holders that have two or more outfalls with substantially identical effluents to test only one outfall, and report the quantitative data as applicable for the substantially identical outfalls. EPA’s guidance document titled, Industrial Stormwater Monitoring and Sampling Guide (EPA 832-B-09-003), provides information about how this monitoring exemption applies to industrial facilities where EPA is the NPDES permitting authority.
Facilities permitted under EPA’s 2015 Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity, are required to monitor all outfalls that receive stormwater discharges from their industrial activities. The exception to this rule under the 2015 MSGP provides permittees with the flexibility to monitor the discharge at one outfall and consider the results as representative for all substantially identical outfalls—with this exemption applicable for quarterly visual assessments and industry-specific benchmark monitoring requirements, but not effluent limitation guideline monitoring.
The 2015 MSGP defines substantially identical outfalls as two or more outfalls the permittee believes have discharges of substantially identical effluents based upon similarities that include:
General industrial activities and control measures,
Exposed materials that may significantly contribute pollutants to stormwater, and
Runoff coefficients of the drainage areas
The runoff coefficient is the ratio of excess runoff compared to the amount of precipitation for a given time over a given area. This value will range from 0.0 when there is no runoff potential, up to 1.0 if all the precipitation will run off. The value is increased due to impervious surfaces at a site such as buildings, pavement, or sidewalks and is decreased due to pervious surfaces such as grass or graveled areas.
Let’s consider the following scenario to determine if the facility is eligible for the substantially identical outfall exemption under the terms of the 2015 MSGP:
A metal recycling facility has a uniform scrap metal pile with three drainage ditches that direct discharge from three areas of the pile to three separate outfalls
Runoff from the scrap pile is managed using the same type of control measures in each drainage area
Based on this description, can the substantially identical outfall exemption be used for the three outfalls, or are there any differences in the conditions at the facility—compared to the exemption’s required components—which would prevent the facility’s operator from using the exemption?
The answer is yes, the facility’s operator can use the substantially identical outfall exemption for the three outfalls because all of the required components have been met as follows:
The industrial activities and the control measures being used are all the same,
It can be assumed the runoff flowing through the exposed areas does contribute the same type of pollutants to stormwater discharge, and
The drainage areas have the same or similar runoff coefficients
The 2015 MSGP requires that permittees who use the substantially identical outfall exception document their determinations in their stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) to include the following:
Location of each substantially identical outfall
General industrial activities conducted in the drainage area of each outfall
Control measures implemented in the drainage area of each outfall
Exposed materials located in the drainage area of each outfall that are likely to be significant contributors of pollutants to stormwater discharges
Estimate of the runoff coefficient of the drainage areas (low = under 40%, medium = 40–60%, high = above 65%)
Why the outfalls are expected to discharge substantially similar effluents
The 2015 MSGP specifies that permittees must perform the quarterly visual assessments for substantially identical outfalls on a rotating basis throughout the period of permit coverage. The permit also specifies that if stormwater contamination is identified in the visual assessment for a substantially identical outfall, permittees must assess and modify the control measures as appropriate for each substantially identical outfall represented by the monitored outfall.
If an event triggers a requirement for a corrective action that is associated with an outfall that has been identified as a substantially identical outfall, permittees must assess the need for corrective action for all related substantially identical outfalls. Any necessary changes to control measures that affect these other outfalls must also be made before the next storm event if possible, or as soon as practicable following that storm event. Any corrective actions must be conducted within the timeframes identified in the permit.
If your facility’s stormwater discharge is under the jurisdiction of a state SPDES permitting authority, you must determine if the state’s stormwater permitting program allows an exemption for substantially identical outfalls and comply with the terms and conditions of your state SPDES stormwater discharge permit that pertain to this exemption.

How to Start a Junk Removal Business
So your ready to take that first step into owning your own business and somehow you decided on Junk Removal..Well here are some things to consider prior to getting started..
Do you have a business plan?
The Junk Removal industry has become extremely competitive. Franchises are popping up in every city as well as the kid in college advertising on craigslist and picking up junk out of his pick up truck. You have to be smart if you want to be successful. If your unfamiliar with the what a business plan is and how to go about having one, take a few minutes and do a quick “Google” search..
Legal Structure and Insurance.
Make sure you spend sometime and do your research and get set up correctly. Things happen and you don’t want to be uncovered or not set up properly. Imagine scratching your customers floor by accident or dripping oil out of an old lawn mower across someones freshly paved driveway..No good, get covered and licensed.
Marketing.
Organic or paid. Lots to consider here, are you going to pay for google advertising or are you planning on going door to door with flyers? Have a marketing plan..One thing that has worked really well for us is “The Chamber of Commerce”..Build relationships, and take care of your customers.
Getting rid of the items you pick up on your Junk Removal jobs.
Find out where your landfills are. Make sure you know what can and cannot be dumped. Find out where you can take scrap metal, electronics and make sure you build a relationship with your local donation center. This can make or break your business.
Equipment and costs to run your Junk Removal Business.
Yup your gonna need a truck, and equipment. We like to have a basic set of tools, shovel, wheel barrel, rake, sledgehammer and drill. Are you going to have uniforms? these are just some of the things to get in order prior to starting your junk removal service. If you have questions, feel free to reach out.

The Week in 3D Printing: Holograms, Upcycling, No-Electricity Electronics, and Mini Medicals
Holograms and algae became 3D prints, water bottles became filament, we printed off-the-grid IoT devices and bio-computers, and hearing got a new helper — all this week in 3D printing.
If Star Trek is going to be real, it’s going to start here
I can’t even believe I’m writing this, but here goes: A group of researchers has been able to create 3D prints that cure almost instantaneously in the crosshairs of beams of light. Through this holographic patterning of light fields, resins harden in three dimensions simultaneously, dramatically reducing some of 3D printing’s biggest limitations. Learn more at TechCrunch, and real the whole paper, One-step volumetric additive manufacturing of complex polymer structures, here.
Holoprinting at work
In another leap toward a more Federation-like future, a pair of Dutch designers has successfully turned algae into a bioplastic 3D printing filament suitable for many plastic applications. The algae polymer may end up “eventually entirely replacing plastics made from fossil fuels like oil,” through a series of local 3D Bakeries — if designers Eric Klarenbeek and Maartje Dros get their way. You can read more about this ultra-sustainable future at Dezeen, as part of their excellent Good Design for a Bad World series.
And to complete our transition into a more sustainable world, we’re getting a hand from that most maligned of planet-polluting plastic objects, the plastic water bottle. Forbes has the story of Bottletop, a boutique in London that will have an entirely 3D printed interior, primarily made from Reflow, a filament composed of plastic waste. The flooring? Recycled tires. The finishing touch? 60,000 upcycled plastic bottles. Until all of our plastics are made from algae, here’s hoping Reflow will help us reuse more of that 300 million tons of plastic produced each year….
Practical Magic
OK, holographic 3D printing may be the highest-tech 3D world news in the past week, but technical breakthroughs don’t have to come from such sci-fi, futuristic places. The other big story of the week came from the University of Washington, where researchers were able to create 3D printed, Wi-Fi connected devices that are totally wireless — in other words, non-electronic electronics. Using 3D printed springs, gears, and switches that connect to embedded antennae, the objects reflect ambient Wi-Fi signals. Read the full story at Engadget, and if you get inspired to create your own elaborate, Wi-Fi connected Rube Goldberg devices, please send gifs.
youtube
But, what if electricity-free “electronics” weren’t just for Wi-Fi? In other astounding news this week, researchers at MIT have successfully printed bacterial bio-ink-based living computers. By combining lines of printed bacteria with different chemicals, the scientists were able to created interacting networks that could one day be the basis of tech that delivers medicine via ingestible living robots. Quartz has a nice rundown, and you can watch the full story (and feel pretty smart in the process), below.
youtube
Now Hear This
Hearing aids have made big advances in recent years, but a totally new road to hearing restoration is now opening up, thanks to 3D printing. As Digital Trends reported, new 3D printed bones will replace the tiny, delicate middle-ear bones that can become damaged, leading to hearing loss. Researcher from Baltimore’s University of Maryland School of Medicine still have a ways to go before this technique is ready for use, but early indications are promising. So far, this makes sternums, tibias, jaws, noses, skulls, and ears that we can or will be able to mend with 3D printing in the near future. Let’s hope that, by the time we all reach our golden years, we’ve perfected replication of every single organ. Music to our ears.

Apple sets a new environmental goal: No more mining
Apple never used to announce what its roadmap looked like. Instead, the company held its cards close and let the rumor mill run amok. But lately, Apple is being much more open about its future. Expect new iMacs later this year, company executives said earlier this month, but that’s not all: Apple plans to make all of its products with recycled materials.
Apple
Apple’s environmental goal illustrated.

Class 9 - 1st presentations
Marie-Jeanne Chevrette: Nam June Paik
Luc Béchard: François Quévillon
Q:
The subjection of people to the work, a lot of abstraction in his work: the student has chosen more concrete work: the viewer becomes part of the art; researching the effects of technology on all of society. He works on many projects internationally but isn’t necessarily the centre of the work.
Conscious Interactivity:
‘Derives’ (2010) Concrete interactivity, uses the internet to create three dimensional models of geographical locations on earth. the audience can modify the aspects of the environment, ex. wind speed.. etc.. how “your” presence has impact on the work directly and symbolically. Derive questions alternative facts, our representation of the world through technology, how this can be manipulated by anyone.
‘magnitudes’ (2004) Presented in Montreal, theme of magnitudes, similarity to ‘Derives’: Spacial Temporal evolution, more tangibility. When people pass by the podium it begins to change in real-time (people have an impact on the work and the world, human impact on the world: is a projection, physical interaction with the fabric and the installation by putting your hand onto it. New experience with every touch, the world or environment is constantly changing
intersections (2005) Takes the environment you see behind the TV and translates it onto the TV so you have a real time representation of the world in front of you. behind the screen is a camera, captures photos every once in a while of the outside world. When someone passes by the screen and touches, and will refresh the X, or Y axis of the image, and take a new photo, therefore creating a double exposure or many // various exposures.
Conclusion: a commentary on humanity on the environment, this is his common theme throughout his work, saying how humanity affects the environment, or humanity itself. “Defrost” and the two last presentations reflect this: your physical presence in a room has a direct impact on the environment (the environment he chose to show)
Korean American artist, 1932-2006. Popularizing the electronical highway in telecommunications.
“Fluxus” movement in 1960′s, experimental art movement.
Televisions in art, robots from television sets.
Exposition to music -
electronic television (1963) transition from classical music to more modern electronic music--> the modified piano. (interactive space)
Harriet Cowell-Tiffany Holmes -- Interactive Media Artist
Technology + art, trying to reduce the consumption of electricity: born in Baltimore --> teaching in Chicago, teaches in interactivity, environmental art.
intersection between digital bio medical technologies and painting.
Melting Polar Ice Caps, “we can’t swim forever” - Kinetic
“Solar Circus” miniature city powered by solar energy; entirely recycled material.
“Dark Sky” -- largest piece on consumption

MWC protest asks about the fate of 4 million recalled Note7 batteries
The question of how the electronics industry recycles or disposes of old batteries came up again due to a Greenpeace protest of Samsung at Mobile World Congress this week.
Greenpeace protestors appeared at a Samsung press event in Barcelona on Sunday carrying and erecting banners outside the venue; the group urged reuse and recycling of old batteries.
Greenpeace said in a statement that it was demanding Samsung reuse and recycle the 4.3 million Galaxy Note7 batteries that were recalled last year after reports that some of the lithium ion batteries overheated and caught fire.
