I absolutely love the hate on sammys graphic novel design cause I fully agree

But like I DO HAVE A REASON FOR NOT LIKING IT

Personally I just think it's stupid how little it aligns with the hints we're given about his appearance. It hardly even aligns with his description in the book they're adapting him from. He's described as pointy with his nose eyebrows and chin. He's so rounded it's CRAZY and another thing is he's said to have longer hair, that's the reason fan designs have it and nope he's got basic old man hair.

This isn't me saying I don't wanna see him look like an old man cause I do but like not like THAT yk. It just,, doesn't feel like its the same character.

It just like,, feels like they just designed a random old man and went 'yep that works!' With no thought gone into it

Idk though, maybe I'm just being nit picky

Anyway it's real bad but here's my attempt at a redesign based off of canon descriptors

yeah so im just gonna act like the DCTL graphic novel doesnt exist. why'd they desecrate my guy like that.

Sammy is like... mid forties at most (according to the wiki and the fact hes younger than Joey, who was born in like 1901. Sammy is younger than that based on IoL.

Anyway-- Why on EARTH did they make sammy look geriatric! They looked at Susie's tapes and were like "... nahh,, hes an antagonist, he cant be handsome! thats silly" F u guys the best antagonists are hot too you can be evil and pretty

sammy is not... technically evil anyway, and viewing him as the actual antagonist of that book is a misunderstanding of the text itself. And yeah i get that they might be trying to misdirect, because Joey looks great, but they just had to make him a bit sharper than everyone else. They didn't have to make him look like Wilson's retirement homie.

If susie gets any graphic novel adaptations, its gonna look REAL weird if shes this "deceptively beautiful and innocent" person when the guy she had such a (mutual?)crush on looks to be in his 70s.

Drew this while in my BATDR phase, got swamped with school work, came out of it, went through an existential crisis, deleted my account, came back to my BATDR phase, and finished this picture, hbu?

made some conceptual doodles based off my older theories about what batdr couldve been

basically those golden flowers around the game represent rebirth and so they begin to grow in places where inky beings commonly died/were reborn from in the cycle (ex. Sammy’s head and Alice’s chest)

The Corrupted Ink represents the greed/corruption of Joey, and the Gold Ink/Bleach represents the power of bringing real, genuine creativity and passion back into creation.

the main plotline would be Audrey using her gold ink to remove the corrupted ink and madness from the minds of the studio employees, beginning with Henry who would then join her on her journey

henry has also started to be corrupted by the ink, as the cycle has not restarted in ages. As stated in the text below, the reason this didn’t happen in Batdr was because he was quarantined in The Keeper’s cell and was not near any ink.

(instead of banishing enemies “back to the ink” like she does in the game, Audrey is instead freeing their souls from the ink.)

The main corrupted souls of the game would have used the ingame memories to help them remember their past life and free their minds and souls from the inky darkness

(instead of just having the memories do pretty much nothing in the actual game)

also that first image with alice has another idea i had where Twisted Alice got ahold of the “The End” reel and made the world her own

at one point i feel like Audrey and Bendy could combine much like they did at the end of Batdr, but since Bendy is now much smaller as Good Bendy, the combination has much more of Audrey than him in it.
