I did it...

i drew Bentilais san Sk'ar in a proper imperial uniform, with proper rank insignia and everything.

I made this art for my Star Wars tabletop game, presenting Sk'ar in stages... First stage, him adhering the the imperial dress code.

Then him getting new tusks, then growing his hair out, and finally wearing a mask. reclaiming parts of his culture as he becomes more and more prominent in the empire.

Made a traditional red Kaleesh variant, for anyone who needs it.

There you have it, at long last... a Kaleesh Imperial Officers.

"Some" Headcanons and context under the cut ~

The idea was born when I'm realised that Bentilais died 3 ABY, but Necrosis was destroyed 1,5 ABY. And according to Abel his mask bought Thrawn. So theoretically Sk'ar can seen her... he delivered his life to empire, lost almost all his soul and buried himself alive, but he can't forget all his life even if he tries. His frends that was closer then family. All their work already gone, it's only him still in this world and he abandoned ruins a long time ago. It is impossible that this mask does not cause any feelings, even deep inside.

By the way! About eyes. In original comics his eyes black with red or white dots... and on one frame one is lookind down, and second up... How

Maybe it's just... prostheses? Black hole with shining dots eyes has like Necrosis in same period of time why not. It explains how they change colors and moving like this.

But why they change colors? I found some carellation between colors and his replicas. White eyes when he says something official. General phrases, formal addresses... or when something is said that goes against his old principles (slavery).

But red always when he says something emotional. Like in first example speech about uselessness to fight. After all, he himself survived the massacre, losing precisely technologically, this words may be really personal. In others he too express emotions or take more personal orders.

So in that way eye color can be indicator if he now just Empire General that make his job. Or he is Bentilais san Sk'ar, proud Kaleesh that lost even his life and right to vote, but still lives inside him.

Kaleesh week

Day 1- Khan

Bentilais san Sk'ar. Khan, a member of Izvoshra, a friend of Grievous and the future leader of the Kaleesh people after the death of the last Khagan.

Quite different from the one we know. But I'm drawing for my and @koyato AU. And we have a long-established headcanon, according to which he is not really a Kaleesh (at least physically), but a Nelvaanian.

We will talk about this headcanon in more detail later, but if you want to know part of the thought process, you can look at the brilliant picture that Koyato made uner the cut. This is just the beginning, but there are already a lot of coincidences.

Bentilais has been our headache ever since we found out about him. Because what are you?? He doesn't look like a Kaleesh, he doesn't act like a Kaleesh (in fact he does, just not on a surface level), and at first glance he has no reason to be a Kaleesh. He's a three-meter pink Godzilla from a comic book from the Seventies. We could just imagine him as an ordinary Kaleesh, but we always choose the difficult path. We wanted his canon image to make sense.

Basically everything went really wrong when we just watched Tartakovsky's Clone Wars show and discussed the plot of the Nelvaans, which is already a whole different story. But then I read their wiki and... the height of mutated Nelvaanians men is exactly three meters. From that moment on, we started noticing things.

Kaleesh Week Day 1- Khan

All of the khans that exist in my weird little Kaleesh AU + one more who's actually khagan in canon. Emotionally, they are all theater kids, forced into geopolitics so you can guess how that turned out

- Ronderu lij Kummar: Technically a khan because almost everyone else who could claim the title is dead and her older brother (Ankar, I'm sure he'll show up at some point) doesn't want it. Understandably, not happy to be here. - Older Brother: I don't...exactly...have a name for him yet, but he's Qy's adopted older brother and the khagan in this weird little universe (until... he dies... RIP to you sir). Probably the only one of these characters who's unironically a decent person, no pesky murders hiding in his backstory. - Bentailis san Sk'ar: Token goth. He looks like this because he originally started as another character ('Mad Scientist', also unnamed-- are you sensing a trend?), and then slowly became Sk'ar. Don't worry though, he still turns into a nine-foot tall vampire-looking guy, through the power of self-experimentation and flexible scientific ethics. - Punk Rock: Khan of one of the clans in the Rim cities (yes, we're going for a cyberpunk-y kind of vibe here; yes, the history there is complicated because of the Yam'rii colonization; and yes, I did make his design after watching ATSV). Most important things to know about him is that he's a rad, sort of wry dude and him and Ronderu's brother have history. - Qymaen jai Sheelal: Yeah! He's not a khan in this world, I'm surprised too! But he's his adopted brother's most trusted commander (no way that could go wrong, right...haha), and had been nicknamed khann-ul when he was younger because he led an uprising to take vengeance on the forces that killed his parents when he was all of 14...so yeah, he's still more or less the same Qymaen.

Here's my first submission for Kaleesh week! Day 1, Izvoshra (They are returning home from a battle, hense the wives and children). Of course I got a crap ton of homework so I had to rush every single drawing but I like this one. We got Qymaen in the front and everyone else is unnamed lmao, besides Sk'ar in the very back on the right.
