Grievous: Will do. About that police state thing - does he at least pay you for the extra hours?

Dooku @ Grievous: This poor idiot. Twisted beyond his original ideals into a hollow shell of the man he once was. He thinks he has agency, but he is nothing more than a pawn to be discarded. We’ll get more use out of his death than anything he did while alive.

That “Obi-Wan isn’t perfect, actually” post reminded me of a little piece of trivia. In Legends, the council believed Obi-Wan was the only one capable of defeating General Grievous, because Grievous was trained to take a lightsaber style and turn it against the user, and most Jedi used a certain style to compensate for a shortcoming, but Obi-Wan used Soresu not to cover a shortcoming, but because it was a purely defensive style, and Grievous would have a hard time turning it against him. Mace Windu was also afraid of fighting Grievous, because he didn’t want Grievous to learn Vapaad.

oh god I can’t stop thinking about Grievous gloating in front of the Jedi Order about how he’ll always turn their own technique against them and they can’t win, and then Master Windu says “true, but what are you going to do against THIS” and Grievous expects a super-secret and dangerous weapon, but Windu just brandishes a polite and gentle Jedi and he’s like “??? what is this little man going to do? suggest to talk about it calmly and offer me tea?” (Obi-Wan looks a bit offended because yes, sometimes he does suggest that) 

and then two hours later, Grievous is panting and enraged, screaming at Obi-Wan “ATTACK ME YOU STUPID JEDI” and Obi-Wan, still only blocking and parrying and not even sweating, is like “no, no, I don’t think I will”

Grievous: *cough* Oh yeah actually, I really enjoyed the security recordings of palpatine tripping down the stairs.

The Clone Wars are hilariously fucked up. They’re barely being held together. Every single soldier is different versions of the same guy who wants nothing to do with them. The commanders are peacekeeping wizards armed with laser swords, sometimes being children, who also want nothing to do with it. There’s this one group of them that is so barely competent, they survive on luck most of the time.

The other side is somehow even worse. It’s being led entirely from the shadows by some guy 99% of the people on that side have never actually seen. The face is also supposed to be some kind of space wizard, he definitely has a laser sword. This face guy has two separate people under him, one being an assassin and a witch from the most inhospitable planet in the system, the other being a walking talking garbage disposal with the cough of a person who’s been smoking deathsticks for 40 years. He’s not even a supporter of the cause, he just likes killing people. Neither of these two have a single brain cell or any kind of coherent plan, or goals that even intersect with one another. The only thing keeping these three completely different people together is the shadow dude.
