Author's note : I apologize for the Chapter delay but here it is! we get a cute little moments with reader and bakugou, as always I hope you enjoyed lovelies <3
previous chapters >> Chapter 1 Chapter 2 <<
The next few days in the hospital were a repetitive day,Bakugou eating shitty hospital food as he watched the news channels still keeping himself up to date with everything that had been happening since the announcement of his temporarily leave which would leave him frustratedly switching the television off and instead reading his book until the nurse would bring him down to your room. Within the five days his injuries had healed up as for physio there was a good progress his bones didn’t feel so stiff anymore however walking was still a hassle for him even when he did do small stretches he could only take one or two steps before his legs started feeling like jello again… but you reassured him you always did reminding him off his small progresses in such little time he didn’t want to admit it how he enjoyed your small praisements towards him, how you would smile at him so sweetly he could’ve sworn your cheeks must’ve hurt from those wide grins, he enjoyed you helping him with small stretches lightly running your fingers over his legs to massage the tension in the bones each time he would be a flustered mess not used to so much physical touch. Lastly he wouldn’t admit out loud how much he would miss seeing you around the hospital, every now and then when you had free time on your hands you would come and see him in his hospital room making sure he was doing alright.
“Alright that’s the last of it” he was snapped out of his thoughts by the trunk of the car being shut he looked up at his best friend who was shooting him a toothy grin as he opened the passenger door before going over towards bakugou sliding his hands under his legs and waist “Woah what are you doing shitty hair” Kirishima only let out a chuckle as he picked the blonde up in bridal style “Y/N told me you still can’t walk yet so i’m gonna help you” Bakugou shook his head “This is absurd put me down or at least pick me up in another way” another chuckle was let out that boiled Bakugou’s blood ohh how lucky Kirishima was that the blonde actually tolerated “Aww Congratulations you two I hope you have a nice honeymoon” he turned his head to the side hearing your sweet soft voice and that oh so sweet melody like chuckle. You had neared towards them as you had your hands crossed over your chest hair moving swiftly by the breeze, Kirishima chuckled as he looked down at the blonde before up at you “Thank you Y/N sorry you didn’t get an invitation to the wedding” you two smiltaniously laughed as Bakugou could only growl before he was seated down in the passenger’s seat. “Hey no hard feelings” you had come to meet Kirishima a while back he always visited his friend during the five days “Thanks for taking care of that one” Kirishima pointed at Bakugou as you shook your head smiling “Ah it's no problem besides he’s not so bad” you shrugged as you bid your goodbyes with the red head hero as he jogged towards his side getting in the car and starting the engine you neared the passenger side as you leaned against the open door “ doing small stretches for five minutes at home will be helpful, I’m not going to see you till next Monday so please for the next three days just do the things we had been doing” Bakugou nodded his head at you as you smiled at him “ here’s my number if anything happens or you have any questions?” you said giving him a piece of paper as he looked down at it with widened eyes “also promise me you’re not gonna try to walk without me?” you put your pinkie finger out as Bakugou snickered “What are we seven years  old?” you playfully narrowed your eyes at him before he rolled his own as he chuckled wrapping his pinkie around yours, locking it “I promise” both of you could feel it an unsaid connection it felt like there were tiny sparks flying around you two. You composed yourself as you nodded your head pulling back and closing the door shut as you waved a goodbye when the car drove off before heading back into the building.
Bakugou watched you from the rearview mirror until you headed in Kirishima would glance between the road and back at Bakugou with a knowing look and smile Bakugou noticed this as he scoffed “If you have something to say just out right with it” he grumbled leaning back into his seat KIrishima shook his head gripping on the wheel “it’s nothing, just nice to see you getting along well with your situation”Bakugou only nodded his head before looking out the window, Kirishima could notice Bakugou’s behavior with you unlike with some new people he would meet he didn’t snarl at you or glare at you. He was actually gentle? Nice? He didn’t know how to describe it. He wasn't sure if his friend had any attraction towards you, however he wouldn’t be surprised if he would end up liking you “She’s pretty right?” he asked as Bakugou quirked a brow up in confusion “ Y/N she’s really pretty and sweet” he commented trying to get something out of the other but he only got a nod from the other before noticing his ears turning pink Kirishima held back his smile as he bit on his lips “are you going to be taking me to my appointments?”Bakugou asked, Kirishima only sighed as he frowned “Unfortunately I can but uh I spoke with your mom yesterday-” “Kiri no” Bakugou cuted in “I had to tell her man anyway she offered on staying at your place until you can walk again she’s also the one that will be driving you” Bakugou only groaned “I don’t need a babysitter” he commented he knew deep down how his mom would be worried but not only that he would be getting lectures throughout the days on how careful he needs to be when taking big risks like that “when she coming over?” Kirishima turned a corner “Today she has a copy of your keys so  she has already settled in” Bakugou only groaned as he leaned his head back against the seat.
  ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵  ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵  ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵
“How could you recklessly just throw your body into that building?!”
“Did you not realize you wouldn’t have time to get out!?”
“What if the outcome was even worse than what?!”
“I understand you’re a hero but your life doesn't mean anything to you!”
Bakugou sighed as he set his chopsticks down finishing his dinner that his mom had made for him however tuning out the women was starting to get much harder than he realized moments like these he wished his dad could save him from the situation, Bakugou stared up at the women who was frustratedly cleaning up the dishes.
“It’s not a big deal” he muttered under his breath mostly for him to hear but it picked up from the blonde woman as she turned around with a raging piercing gaze that was far more terrifying than his “Katsuki Bakugou! You think this isn’t a big deal!” she exclaimed “You can’t walk for fuck sakes’” She sighed in frustration “You think I like seeing my son like this? I may be supportive of your career however you can’t just keep sacrificing yourself like your life doesn’t matter” her voice started out shakily and soon enough Bakugou’s annoyed look softened he stared at his mother who leaned against the kitchen counter fingers pinching the bridge of her nose, Bakugou rolled his wheelchair as he went towards his mom taking her shaking hands in his rough calloused one’s
“It’s going to be fine i’ve already made improvements in physio and next week i’m going to slowly start to walk again” he assured his mother looking down at her hands
“I’ve dealt worse” he muttered which made the other perk up at her son with even more frustration and sadness as she pulled her hands away “c’mon old hag don’t-” bakugou was cut off with his mother’s hand raising into a stop sign “don’t you dare tell me not to worry, I want my son to be alive and healthy” she started swallowing thickly “You know Mrs.Lee’s son got married a month ago” she mentioned one of her employee’s son’s as Bakugou sighed “What does her son have to do with me” he pointed at himself as his mom chuckled bitterly “The point is I want my son to experience that special moment in his life and for me to be alive to witness it” her eyes teared up as she spoke Bakugou’s face softening “But you know what I may never live to see that day” she shook her head as Bakugou sighed “Don’t say that” Mitsuki scoffed “really? I haven’t seen you on a date in years let alone a relationship” she justified “That’s cause dating someone from the same field is a hassle and dating an average person with a normal life doesn’t understand they go on and on about never getting time from their partners and how always they are alone it doesn’t work I've tried no one is in it for that type of life and if they are it’s for the name and title so what’s the point of a relationship then and I'm not gonna jeopardize my career that I worked so hard for because of some Women not understanding that this is what I love to do” he explained to his mom as Mitsuki’s nerves had also started to settle “ honey you don’t know that” Bakugou scoffed “You can barely handle me and your the one who gave birth to me” he protested as Mitsuki shook her head “That doesn’t mean I love you any less I may get angry when you end up hurting like this but that’s because I love you and I will always be proud of you and I know you’ll find someone who will love you for you and support you at the same time but you need to think honey what makes a hero? What makes you a hero? Is it really throwing yourself into danger?” That night all Bakugou could think about was the conversation with his mom about what truly did make Bakugou the number 2.
  ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵  ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵  ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵
Bakugou had finally been able to rest on his own comfortable bed and not the shitty hospital one, he had been staring at your phone contact for 20 minutes now should he have texted you? But you told him to only contact you if he had any questions or needed something but he couldn’t help but wonder if there were more intentions towards it. Bakugou shook his head he was actually losing it why was he overthinking so much about you and that stupid smile of yours and how you looked at him in determination to get himself back on his feet. Bakugou groaned in frustration “ fuck” he exclaimed before hearing his phone starting to dial and ring he looked down in confusion and noticed he accidentally dialed you, shit his fingers must’ve split after a few rings you had finally picked up “hello? Who is this?” you asked in confusion, damn even your voice sounded amazing through the phone there was also lots of background noise especially giggles? Bakugou sighed as he compromised himself “it’s me….. Bakugou ``''oh Bakugou hey did you need something?” Bakugou thought for a moment he was to embarrassed to tell you the truth so he quickly came up with a small white lie “uh I know it’s late and all and it sounds like your out but-” “Bakugou it’s fine you're my patient” you interrupted as he heard from the other side chair sliding back against the floor and the once familiar background noise was now filled soft quietness and pass by cars, he cleared his throat as he continued “Uh my legs feel tensed and hurting a little” he hated that he was lying even if it was a small one “don’t worry about that it’s normal try to do some small stretches and massages you are gonna have an uncomfortable feeling in your legs for a bit but it’ll pass soon” you reassured he smiled subtly as he nodded his head before remembering he needed to speak “Alright then thanks sorry again for disturbing” “it’s okay bakugou” you spoke so softly and he was sure you were smiling over the line “is that all?” you asked “yeah that’s all thanks” he was going to hang up before he exclaimed “wait!” you were taken back as you brought the phone back to your ear “goodnight” he said you blinked a couple of times before you let out small fits of giggles “goodnight Mr. dynamite” and with that the call ended leaving bakugou’s heart soaring that, that sound of you giggling he wanted to hear it again.

Bryce: Hey after the game meet me at the pier
Y/N: ok. I miss you brycey!!
Bryce: :) i miss you too. That's why I wanna see you.
Y/N: ill be there :P
Y/N was sitting in the crowd waiting to watch the Liberty/Hillcrest football game. It had been a very anticipated game, since this would be the first game all the boys from Liberty would play against their former captain and friend, bryce walker.
Y/N had been friends with bryce since kindergarten and nothing could come between them. Y/N knew that Bryce had done some questionable things but Bryce had always been good to her. In freshman year, he even stopped a senior from raping her.
Jessica and her HO buddies ran onto the field cheering “Hey hey ho ho Rape Culture has to go”, then Carter from HIllcrest grabbed her boobs and the riot started. All the boys from liberty and hillcrest were fighting each other. The coaches and the police tried to break the boys up. Y/N ran onto the sidelines trying to see if she could see Bryce. By then the police and staff had managed to break up the fighting and she decided to head to the parking lot. Bryce wasn't there either.
Y/N drove down near the pier and parked. She never saw Bryce drive by nor did she see zach come and go. But she did notice ALex and Jessica drive by her. She got out her car and followed. She arrived at the pier and saw Bryce on the ground with alex in front of him and jessica not far behind. She tried to listen to their conversation but she was too far away and didn't want to get caught. She was slowly moving closer to the three when bryce's voice got louder and she heard
“For fuck sake you guys. Please”  jessica and alex exchanged a few words that Y/N couldn't hear and JEssica walked away and Y/N heard Bryce say to alex
“Please, i don't want to die out here. Alex! Alex, please” and bryce's voice got quieter and Y/N couldn't hear but Alex walked towards him and helped him up. As he helped Bryce up, Bryce screamed in pain, causing Y/N to start crying quietly. Suddenly bryce was yelling again.
“FUUCK! Fucking Zach! Im gonna fuck up his other knee and wreck his fucking life”
Alex answered “you're not going to do anything to zach.”
“Im gonna fucking destroy him” bryce yelled in pain. Then he looked at jessica and said angrily
“You! You set me up”
Alex yelled back “ She did not set you up” to which bryce yelled back
“She fucking set me up!”
Y/N stood up from where she was and saw bryce and alex stumbling around. When they stopped alex said something to bryce and started pushing him over the edge of the pier. Bryce tried to fight back but with his legs broken he couldn't do much. As Alex pushed Bryce over the edge Y/N ran up to Alex and jessica, looked at alex and yelled
“WHAT THE FUCK ALEX”  before jumping into the cold river after her best fried.
Bryce couldn't keep his head above water with both his legs broken and was panicking. Y/N had a hard time reaching him because of his panicked state but when she did she swam  to shore with bryce in tow and called 911.
The ambulance arrived and brought both teenagers to the hospital. Y/N was brought to a room and made to wait to be taken by police while bryce was rushed into surgery.
Once the sheriff arrived at the hospital they took Y/N to the station to be questioned.
“Y/N please don't lie to us, i know you know what happened so tell me” officer standall told Y/N.
“I told you I didn't see who it was, all i know is that alex and jessica got there and bryce was already beaten up, alex helped bryce up, bryce got defensive alex got mad and pushed him in the river, I jumped in to save him. I swear it's the truth.”
“Alex pushed him in?” officer standall asked again.
“Yes!”
“OK you can go” officer standall told Y/N
Y/N rushed back to the hospital, ran in and talked to the desk clerk in the emergency room.
“My friend was brought in by ambulance all beat up and thrown into the river, i need to know if he's ok”
“He’s still in surgery, you'll have to wait in the waiting room.” the clerk told Y/N.
Y/N walked towards the waiting room and saw bryce's mom.
“Oh Y/N the doctors told me that you saved him”
“Ya i jumped in after him and pulled him out. You know I never understood why they made waterproof phones till now” Y/N told Nora Walker with a half smile.
Nora started crying and hugged Y/N and said
“Thank you so much Y/N! Thank you! I know he's done bad things but i swear he's getting better. I know he's trying.”
“He is getting better Nora. he's been doing so well!! He knows he messed up and he knows he needs help. And porter is really helping him!”
Y/N and Nora sat in the waiting room for a few hours before the doctor came out.
“Well i got some good news for you, he's going to be ok.  It's a good thing you were there to pull him out because he wouldn't have been able to save himself. He's got a severe concussion, a dislocated shoulder blade, and in both of his legs his tibia, fibula and patella are broken . With lots of patience and physiotherapy he’ll be able to walk again, and maybe even play sports again.”
“I don't care about sports as long as he's ok.” Nora said crying happy tears
“Yes he’ll be alright. You guys can come see him if you want” the doctor said leading the way to bryce's room.
As soon as Nora and Y/N walked into the room they started crying seeing bryce all bandaged up and with both legs in casts. About an hour of being in the room he was slowly waking up from the anesthesia.
“Mom” bryce whispered
“I'm here honey. And so is Y/N” Nora answered.
“Y/N” bryce whispered.
Y/N held onto his hand. Bryce patted the bed beside him, signinling Y/N to come lay beside him.
“I'm so happy your ok brycey” Y/N said hugging bryce, tears falling down her eyes.
Everyday day after school Y/N would go see bryce and on weekends she was there from morning till night time. She never left his side.
It was saturday morning and Bryce had been in the hospital for two weeks now. Y/N was sitting in bryce's bed with him just talking and helping Y/N with some of her homework, when the physiotherapist walked in.
“Good morning bryce. Good morning Y/N. How are we this morning?” she asked
“Y/N is giving me my daily dose of gossip and were catching up on some school work.” bryce laughed
“Alright well now it's time for me to give you your daily dose of arm physio” the physiotherapist laughed.
Bryce had just recently started doing physio for his dislocated shoulder. The doctors had told him that he could take the sling off as of two weeks and that it would be 4-12 weeks before he was 100% better. His tibia, fibula and patella fracture would probably take another 6-8 months to heal completely. None of that stopped Y/N from being there everyday and being by Bryce's side to support his recovery.
Three months in the hospital and Bryce was finally being released. He was wheelchair bound until his legs could support his weight. Y/N Drive to the hospital to pick up her best friend.
"Y/N you're here!!" Bryce said as the nurse pushed him outside.
"Of course I am silly"
Bryce got into the car and Y/N Drive off.
"So you remember what I told you about a month in to the hospital?" Bryce asked grabbing Y/N hand
Y/N smiled looked over at Bryce and replied
"Of course I do! You told me you were taking me on a date the day you were released!"
"Good you remembered!!" Bryce smiled " since I can't drive, I was hoping you wouldn't mind driving, maybe we can do Rosie's or Monet's or wherever you wanted?" Bryce said shyly.
"Is Bryce walker blushing?" Y/N laughed as she saw her best friend blushing.
"I choose Rosie's!" Y/N said driving towards Rosie's.
Y/N parked and helped Bryce out of car and they sat at Rosie's.
They enjoyed their night. They talked and reminisced about all the things they've done together and all the boys and girls they've dated over the years.
By the time they left Rosie's it was almost 2 am.
"I've missed the outside world so much" Bryce said to Y/N as she pushed his wheelchair outside.
"Ya I'm happy I finally get you outside the hospital"
Y/N helped Bryce into her car and drove him home. The whole car ride the teens held hands. As Y/N pulled up to Bryce's house Bryce looked over at the young girl and smiled.
"You know Y/N, You're the most beautiful girl I've ever laid my eyes on. And, I really like you, actually I love you. Do you maybe want to be my girlfriend?"
"Awwwe bryyyyyyce. I love you too!! And yes yes I do!"
Y/N leaned over her the middle console in her car and kissed bryce.
