This is more accepted in India than two women getting married. Nobody focuses on the homophobia in the country and in stead sees this as some feel-good love story. I am horrified that this is what I would have to do if I want to be accepted. Or if even doing this would give me acceptance.
marrying ur own student is typically so iffy but it doesn’t say the specifics there so i won’t judge but. the sad thing is that this is far from the first time i see a story about a person transitioning to be able to marry the same sex. it seems in this person’s case, they claim to have wanted to transition anyways (which good for them if this wasn’t just a means to an end) but there’s so many stories where transition is simply the only option a lesbian or gay man had to be able to be with their partner. i hate that that’s how it is
