From the border to the economy, President Biden has accomplished feats in 2023 that no one ever saw coming. With so many incredible achievements for the Biden administration this year, narrowing them down was no easy task! Here are the top ten accomplishments of the Biden administration in 2023:
Reduced obesity in America by making food unaffordable: So simple.
Cleaned up all the cocaine bags someone was leaving around the White House: Decency restored!
Kept American hostages safe from junk fees during their stay with Hamas: Not one single junk fee!
Set all-time record for people illegally streaming into the U.S.: Because he's the most popular President ever. Numbers don't lie.
Raised dementia awareness by 400%: Also, sandbag awareness.
Created record numbers of new billionaires: They're all in Ukraine, but still.
Promoted transparency by releasing several "Behind-the-Scenes" videos from Capitol staffers: Campaign promise, delivered.
Saved democracy by arresting political opponents and not allowing people to vote for anyone else: Thanks, Joe!
Set new record by spending 40% of time on vacation: Finally giving Delaware Beach the attention it so richly deserves.
Heroically stayed alive to save America from a Kamala Harris Presidency: We salute you, Mr. Biden!
What can't Biden do?? We can't wait to see what Joe has up his sleeve in 2024!

The "Harm Reduction" vote
I vote third party the majority of the time. Even in the presidential election I will vote 3rd party. No, it wasn't my fault Trump won, it was the antiquated electoral college that did that. If you think my vote swung it to TFG (That Fucking Guy) then cope and seethe.
How is your "harm reduction" vote going? Isn't that what you were told a vote for Biden was? Hold you nose and get TFG out of office in the most important presidential election of our lifetimes. Something that has been said about every presidential election I can remember. It's pure bullshit.
Let's look at Biden's record.
No $15.00 Minimum Wage
Roe Vs Wade NOT codified
Still owes us $600.00 in covid relief
College Debt dead
Affirmative Action dead
Voter Rights are dead
Consumer prices are 2.97% higher in the last year
As a matter of fact consumer prices have risen 16.64% since Joe Biden took office.
Gas prices have increased
Grocery prices have increased
The average American family has lost $7,100 in purchasing power under Biden due to inflation and high interest rates.
Trans freaks on the lawn of the White House posing topless showing fake breasts and zippertitz as a "celebration" of Pride that does not represent the majority of LGB people. He said he would "restore honor and decency" to the Whitehouse. He failed at that also.
Dylan Mulvaney celebrates his days of girlhood and gets a sit down with Biden and a congratulations letter from Kamala Harris meanwhile missing and murdered Brown and Black women hit epidemic levels.
The Biden administration also redefined Title IX protections for women to include sexual orientation and gender identity. Among other things, that could mean that gendered facilities in schools that receive federal funding could be eliminated or opened to the opposite sex.
So I ask, "How is that harm reduction vote going?" I am in no way a fan of TFG however nothing is different from what he wanted than what we have now. The moral of the story? Make them earn your vote, don;t give your vote away because you fear the opponent and what will happen if he gets in. Biden is Trump but with a great love for Trans people.

+  President Joe Biden's first address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday will take place in a U.S. Capitol on high alert, with memories fresh of the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the building by supporters of his predecessor, Donald Tr*mp. + The crowd inside the Capitol will be a fraction of the hundreds of members of Congress, Supreme Court justices, top government officials and guests who typically attend, to allow for more social distancing in a COVID-19 pandemic that has killed more than 572,000 Americans. + But security will be higher than usual, even for what is officially designated a "National Special Security Event," with the Secret Service in charge of security. + The white-domed building is still surrounded by a black steel mesh fence with some 2,250 armed National Guard troops from 18 states plus the District of Columbia on duty in the city, the vestiges of a much larger force put in place after Tr*mp supporters stormed the building as Congress was voting to certify Biden's election victory.

Final Thoughts on the 2020 Campaign.
"A few weeks after the assassination of President John Kennedy, when I was a Hill staffer working on a graduate degree, unable to sleep, I walked to the Lincoln Memorial and strolled along the Reflecting Pool to the Capitol where I sat on the steps alone. And wept.
I recall this moment of youthful innocence because of where we are today. We live under a President who has earned our scorn but not our tears. Who has elevated grievances and hate to the top of his agenda. Who has now done what no other President —Democrat or Republican has done — vilified the sacred right to vote, worked aggressively to suppress that right and threatened to dishonor another valued tradition —the peaceful transfer of power.
Donald Trump has already assassinated decency. He now campaigns to assassinate democracy. He has put America on the ballot.
When I pull down my lever, I will yearn for a benevolent America, an America that launched the Marshall Plan to resurrect a war ravaged Europe, that created the Peace Corps to help undeveloped countries, that initiated a War on Poverty to lift the poor, Food for Peace to feed the hungry, insisted on the equality of all citizens and opened its arms to refugees seeking asylum and immigrants, like my parents, seeking a better life. I yearn for an America that collected dimes to wipe out polio, that led a global fight against AIDS, and will lead a similar fight against the coronavirus. I yearn for an America that defeated dictators abroad and will not tolerate them at home. I yearn for a President who will pay his taxes and wear a mask. I yearn for a President who feels inspired by greater voter turnout, not one who is frightened by it. I yearn for a President who will usher in an era of bipartisanship where Republicans will join to rebuild our infrastructure and restore our global friendships and alliances. I yearn for a President who reads, studies, listens, thinks, takes responsibility, urges tolerance and will lead with compassion, empathy, optimism, humility, humor and hope. I yearn for a President who will aspire to what the Greeks expected of their leaders—‘to tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of the world.’ I yearn for a President, to paraphrase Ted Kennedy’s eulogy of his brother Bobby, ‘who sees wrong and tries to right it, sees suffering and tries to heal it, sees war and tries to end it...’
And so, with pride and optimism, I will vote for what I yearn. I will vote to honor a President I wept for. I will vote for decency. I will vote for democracy. I will vote for America. I will vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris." - Ted Venetoulis

America Just Replaced One Monster With Another
“They couldn’t wait one goddamn minute to go back to brunch. You have people celebrating in the streets about Joe Biden being elected. What are you celebrating? This guy bombed us. This guy bombed my country. He destroyed the Middle East; he locked up millions of black people in America. Don’t you have any goddamn empathy? Don’t you have any compassion? Don’t you have any common sense? Has everyone lost their collective fucking minds? You can be happy about Trump being gone without rehabilitating and whitewashing a fucking racist war criminal.
And then you’ve got Stephen Colbert and Van Jones and all these mopes on television fake-crying their crocodile tears about how decency is going to be restored to the White House. What decency? What character? This guy spent his entire life trying to screw over the working class. Trying to screw over people of colour. Why don’t you go look at pictures of kids in Iraq, in Fullujah, born with birth defects because of the war that Joe Biden started, and come and tell me about what decency is? You war criminal-rehabilitating motherfuckers.
And you have people congratulating him, like AOC? What are you congratulating him for? You don’t congratulate Joe Biden, just like you don’t congratulate Mussolini if he beat Hitler in an election. How can you sit there a rehabilitate a guy who started the Iraq War? Who helped orchestrate it. Has the blood of a million Iraqis on his hands. Who’s never met a war that he didn’t like. Who’s going to keep the drone strikes going, he’s going to keep the wars going, he’s going to keep the sanctions going. He’s going to keep locking up black people. He’s going to keep pushing neoliberal policy. He’s going to keep giving out corporate bailouts. He’s going to keep screwing over the middle class. What is wrong with you? You should be fucking crying, not celebrating!
There was no pushing Biden left. There was no lesser of two evils. The whole system is evil. And we already know what the next four years are going to be. Anyone who criticizes the Biden-Harris administration; anyone who opens their mouth about corruption, about imperialism, about war crimes: they’re going to call them foreign agents, they’re going to use the Russiagate playbook against them. ‘Oh, you’re a Putin puppet!’ And for the rest of the world, it’s the same old same old. They’re going to keep bombing us, they’re going to keep killing us, they’re going to keep dronestriking us, putting sanctions on us. And no one is going to give a shit. They got rid of Trump, and now they’ve given you the architect of the system that gave you Trump.”
Inject this into my motherfucking veins.

Tonight I am not crying just because Trump is out, but because it signals hope for women. As women we can have ambition, we have autonomy and we can make things happen . Joe and Kamala represent hope, and are a team that can respect all America. Joe has worked to protect the American people for decades and create a UNITED States. I am an ex student of international politics and current international law student, but you don’t have to be that to see the damage that Trump has done not only to America but to the international system and international relationships. I am so glad Biden is in to restore the position of the US and bring together a divided America and a fractured world. I am watching his speech as I speak and I have the utmost faith that he will do everything in his power to unite the American people and heal your nation. America I am so proud of the choice you made this week, and the rest of the world looks upon you happily as you chose democracy and DECENCY. Joes right. We are watching you, and we are hopeful, that Biden and Harris can create a nation that cares. A nation that can heal, and make the right decisions to create a better world.

Barack Obama’s DNC Speech
“Good evening, everybody. As you've seen by now, this isn't a normal convention. It's not a normal time. So tonight, I want to talk as plainly as I can about the stakes in this election. Because what we do these next 76 days will echo through generations to come.
I'm in Philadelphia, where our Constitution was drafted and signed. It wasn't a perfect document. It allowed for the inhumanity of slavery and failed to guarantee women -- and even men who didn't own property -- the right to participate in the political process. But embedded in this document was a North Star that would guide future generations; a system of representative government -- a democracy -- through which we could better realize our highest ideals. Through civil war and bitter struggles, we improved this Constitution to include the voices of those who'd once been left out. And gradually, we made this country more just, more equal, and more free.
The one Constitutional office elected by all of the people is the presidency. So at minimum, we should expect a president to feel a sense of responsibility for the safety and welfare of all 330 million of us -- regardless of what we look like, how we worship, who we love, how much money we have -- or who we voted for.
But we should also expect a president to be the custodian of this democracy. We should expect that regardless of ego, ambition, or political beliefs, the president will preserve, protect, and defend the freedoms and ideals that so many Americans marched for and went to jail for; fought for and died for.
I have sat in the Oval Office with both of the men who are running for president. I never expected that my successor would embrace my vision or continue my policies. I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously; that he might come to feel the weight of the office and discover some reverence for the democracy that had been placed in his care.
But he never did. For close to four years now, he's shown no interest in putting in the work; no interest in finding common ground; no interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends; no interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves.
Donald Trump hasn't grown into the job because he can't. And the consequences of that failure are severe. 170,000 Americans dead. Millions of jobs gone while those at the top take in more than ever. Our worst impulses unleashed, our proud reputation around the world badly diminished, and our democratic institutions threatened like never before.
Now, I know that in times as polarized as these, most of you have already made up your mind. But maybe you're still not sure which candidate you'll vote for -- or whether you'll vote at all. Maybe you're tired of the direction we're headed, but you can't see a better path yet, or you just don't know enough about the person who wants to lead us there.
So let me tell you about my friend Joe Biden.
Twelve years ago, when I began my search for a vice president, I didn't know I'd end up finding a brother. Joe and I came from different places and different generations. But what I quickly came to admire about him is his resilience, born of too much struggle; his empathy, born of too much grief. Joe's a man who learned -- early on -- to treat every person he meets with respect and dignity, living by the words his parents taught him: "No one's better than you, Joe, but you're better than nobody."
That empathy, that decency, the belief that everybody counts -- that's who Joe is.
When he talks with someone who's lost her job, Joe remembers the night his father sat him down to say that he'd lost his.
When Joe listens to a parent who's trying to hold it all together right now, he does it as the single dad who took the train back to Wilmington each and every night so he could tuck his kids into bed.
When he meets with military families who've lost their hero, he does it as a kindred spirit; the parent of an American soldier; somebody whose faith has endured the hardest loss there is.
For eight years, Joe was the last one in the room whenever I faced a big decision. He made me a better president -- and he's got the character and the experience to make us a better country.
And in my friend Kamala Harris, he's chosen an ideal partner who's more than prepared for the job; someone who knows what it's like to overcome barriers and who's made a career fighting to help others live out their own American dream.
Along with the experience needed to get things done, Joe and Kamala have concrete policies that will turn their vision of a better, fairer, stronger country into reality.
They'll get this pandemic under control, like Joe did when he helped me manage H1N1 and prevent an Ebola outbreak from reaching our shores.
They'll expand health care to more Americans, like Joe and I did ten years ago when he helped craft the Affordable Care Act and nail down the votes to make it the law.
They'll rescue the economy, like Joe helped me do after the Great Recession. I asked him to manage the Recovery Act, which jumpstarted the longest stretch of job growth in history. And he sees this moment now not as a chance to get back to where we were, but to make long-overdue changes so that our economy actually makes life a little easier for everybody -- whether it's the waitress trying to raise a kid on her own, or the shift worker always on the edge of getting laid off, or the student figuring out how to pay for next semester's classes.
Joe and Kamala will restore our standing in the world -- and as we've learned from this pandemic, that matters. Joe knows the world, and the world knows him. He knows that our true strength comes from setting an example the world wants to follow. A nation that stands with democracy, not dictators. A nation that can inspire and mobilize others to overcome threats like climate change, terrorism, poverty, and disease.
But more than anything, what I know about Joe and Kamala is that they actually care about every American. And they care deeply about this democracy.
They believe that in a democracy, the right to vote is sacred, and we should be making it easier for people to cast their ballot, not harder.
They believe that no one -- including the president -- is above the law, and that no public official -- including the president -- should use their office to enrich themselves or their supporters.
They understand that in this democracy, the Commander-in-Chief doesn't use the men and women of our military, who are willing to risk everything to protect our nation, as political props to deploy against peaceful protesters on our own soil. They understand that political opponents aren't "un-American" just because they disagree with you; that a free press isn't the "enemy" but the way we hold officials accountable; that our ability to work together to solve big problems like a pandemic depends on a fidelity to facts and science and logic and not just making stuff up.
None of this should be controversial. These shouldn't be Republican principles or Democratic principles. They're American principles. But at this moment, this president and those who enable him, have shown they don't believe in these things.
Tonight, I am asking you to believe in Joe and Kamala's ability to lead this country out of these dark times and build it back better. But here's the thing: no single American can fix this country alone. Not even a president. Democracy was never meant to be transactional -- you give me your vote; I make everything better. It requires an active and informed citizenry. So I am also asking you to believe in your own ability -- to embrace your own responsibility as citizens -- to make sure that the basic tenets of our democracy endure.
Because that's what at stake right now. Our democracy.
Look, I understand why many Americans are down on government. The way the rules have been set up and abused in Congress make it easy for special interests to stop progress. Believe me, I know. I understand why a white factory worker who's seen his wages cut or his job shipped overseas might feel like the government no longer looks out for him, and why a Black mother might feel like it never looked out for her at all. I understand why a new immigrant might look around this country and wonder whether there's still a place for him here; why a young person might look at politics right now, the circus of it all, the meanness and the lies and crazy conspiracy theories and think, what's the point?
Well, here's the point: this president and those in power -- those who benefit from keeping things the way they are -- they are counting on your cynicism. They know they can't win you over with their policies. So they're hoping to make it as hard as possible for you to vote, and to convince you that your vote doesn't matter. That's how they win. That's how they get to keep making decisions that affect your life, and the lives of the people you love. That's how the economy will keep getting skewed to the wealthy and well-connected, how our health systems will let more people fall through the cracks. That's how a democracy withers, until it's no democracy at all.
We can't let that happen. Do not let them take away your power. Don't let them take away your democracy. Make a plan right now for how you're going to get involved and vote. Do it as early as you can and tell your family and friends how they can vote too. Do what Americans have done for over two centuries when faced with even tougher times than this -- all those quiet heroes who found the courage to keep marching, keep pushing in the face of hardship and injustice.
Last month, we lost a giant of American democracy in John Lewis. Some years ago, I sat down with John and the few remaining leaders of the early Civil Rights Movement. One of them told me he never imagined he'd walk into the White House and see a president who looked like his grandson. Then he told me that he'd looked it up, and it turned out that on the very day that I was born, he was marching into a jail cell, trying to end Jim Crow segregation in the South.
What we do echoes through the generations.
Whatever our backgrounds, we're all the children of Americans who fought the good fight. Great grandparents working in firetraps and sweatshops without rights or representation. Farmers losing their dreams to dust. Irish and Italians and Asians and Latinos told to go back where they came from. Jews and Catholics, Muslims and Sikhs, made to feel suspect for the way they worshipped. Black Americans chained and whipped and hanged. Spit on for trying to sit at lunch counters. Beaten for trying to vote.
If anyone had a right to believe that this democracy did not work, and could not work, it was those Americans. Our ancestors. They were on the receiving end of a democracy that had fallen short all their lives. They knew how far the daily reality of America strayed from the myth. And yet, instead of giving up, they joined together and said somehow, some way, we are going to make this work. We are going to bring those words, in our founding documents, to life.
I've seen that same spirit rising these past few years. Folks of every age and background who packed city centers and airports and rural roads so that families wouldn't be separated. So that another classroom wouldn't get shot up. So that our kids won't grow up on an uninhabitable planet. Americans of all races joining together to declare, in the face of injustice and brutality at the hands of the state, that Black Lives Matter, no more, but no less, so that no child in this country feels the continuing sting of racism.
To the young people who led us this summer, telling us we need to be better -- in so many ways, you are this country's dreams fulfilled. Earlier generations had to be persuaded that everyone has equal worth. For you, it's a given -- a conviction. And what I want you to know is that for all its messiness and frustrations, your system of self-government can be harnessed to help you realize those convictions.
You can give our democracy new meaning. You can take it to a better place. You're the missing ingredient -- the ones who will decide whether or not America becomes the country that fully lives up to its creed.
That work will continue long after this election. But any chance of success depends entirely on the outcome of this election. This administration has shown it will tear our democracy down if that's what it takes to win. So we have to get busy building it up -- by pouring all our effort into these 76 days, and by voting like never before -- for Joe and Kamala, and candidates up and down the ticket, so that we leave no doubt about what this country we love stands for -- today and for all our days to come.
Stay safe. God bless.”
- Former President Barack Obama

Joe Bidens speech November 7, 2020
My fellow Americans, the people of this nation have spoken. They have delivered us a clear victory. A convincing victory. A victory for “We the People.” We have won with the most votes ever cast for a presidential ticket in the history of this nation -- 74 million. I am humbled by the trust and confidence you have placed in me. I pledge to be a President who seeks not to divide, but to unify. Who doesn’t see Red and Blue states, but a United States. And who will work with all my heart to win the confidence of the whole people. For that is what America is about: The people. And that is what our Administration will be about. I sought this office to restore the soul of America. To rebuild the backbone of the nation -- the middle class. To make America respected around the world again and to unite us here at home. It is the honor of my lifetime that so many millions of Americans have voted for this vision. And now the work of making this vision real is the task of our time. As I said many times before, I’m Jill’s husband. I would not be here without the love and tireless support of my wife, Jill, Hunter, Ashley, all of our grandchildren and their spouses, and all our family. They are my heart. Jill’s a mom -- a military mom -- and an educator. She has dedicated her life to education, but teaching isn’t just what she does -- it’s who she is. For America’s educators, this is a great day: You’re going to have one of your own in the White House, and Jill is going to make a great First Lady. And I will be honored to be serving with a fantastic vice president -- Kamala Harris -- who will make history as the first woman, first Black woman, first woman of South Asian descent, and first daughter of immigrants ever elected to national office in this country. It’s long overdue, and we’re reminded tonight of all those who fought so hard for so many years to make this happen. But once again, America has bent the arc of the moral universe towards justice. Kamala, Doug -- like it or not -- you’re family. You’ve become honorary Bidens. To all those who volunteered, worked the polls, local election officials -- you deserve a special thanks from this nation. To my campaign team, to all the volunteers, to all those who gave so much of themselves to make this moment possible, I thank you for everything. And to all those who supported us: I am proud of the campaign we built and ran. I am proud of the coalition we built, the broadest and most diverse in history. Democrats and Republicans and Independents. Progressives, moderates and conservatives. Young and old. Urban, suburban and rural. Gay, straight, transgender. White. Latino. Asian. Native American. And especially for those moments when this campaign was at its lowest -- the African American community. I said from the outset I wanted a campaign that represented America, and I think we did that. And to those who voted for President Trump, I understand your disappointment tonight. I’ve lost a couple of elections myself. But now, let’s give each other a chance. It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric. To lower the temperature. To see each other again. To listen to each other again. To make progress, we must stop treating our opponents as our enemy. We are not enemies. We are Americans. The Bible tells us that to everything there is a season -- a time to build, a time to reap, a time to sow. And a time to heal. This is that time for America. A time to heal. Now that the campaign is over -- what is the people’s will? What is our mandate? I believe it is this: Americans have called on us to marshal the forces of decency and the forces of fairness. To marshal the forces of science and the forces of hope in the great battles of our time. The battle to control the virus. The battle to build prosperity. The battle to secure your family’s health care. The battle to achieve racial justice and root out systemic racism in this country. The battle to save the climate. The battle to restore decency, defend democracy, and give everybody in this country a fair shot. Our work begins with getting COVID under control. We cannot repair our economy, restore our vitality, or relish life’s most precious moments -- hugging a grandchild, birthdays, weddings, graduations, all the moments that matter most to us -- until we get this virus under control. On Monday, I will name a group of leading scientists and experts as Transition Advisors to help take the Biden-Harris COVID plan and convert it into an action blueprint that starts on January 20th, 2021. That plan will be built on a bedrock of science. It will be constructed out of compassion, empathy, and concern. I will spare no effort -- or commitment -- to turn this pandemic around. I ran as a proud Democrat. I will now be an American president. I will work as hard for those who didn’t vote for me -- as I will for those who did. Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end -- here and now. The refusal of Democrats and Republicans to cooperate with one another is not due to some mysterious force beyond our control. It’s a decision. It’s a choice we make. And if we can decide not to cooperate, then we can decide to cooperate. And I believe that is part of the mandate from the American people. They want us to cooperate. That’s the choice I’ll make. And I call on the Congress -- Democrats and Republicans alike -- to make that choice with me. America’s story is about the slow, yet steady widening of opportunity. Make no mistake: Too many dreams have been deferred for too long. We must make the promise of the country real for everybody -- no matter their race, their identity, their ethnicity, their faith. America has always been shaped by inflection points -- by moments in time where we’ve made hard decisions about who we are and what we want to be. Lincoln in 1860 -- coming to save the Union. FDR in 1932 -- promising a beleaguered country a New Deal. JFK in 1960 -- pledging a New Frontier. And twelve years ago -- when Barack Obama made history -- and told us, “Yes, we can.” We stand again at an inflection point. We have the opportunity to defeat despair and to build a nation of prosperity and purpose. We can do it. I know we can. I’ve long talked about the battle for the soul of America. Now we must restore the soul of America. Our nation is shaped by the constant battle between our better angels and our darkest impulses. It is time for our better angels to prevail. Tonight, the whole world is watching. I believe at our best America is a beacon for the globe. And we lead not by the example of our power, but by the power of our example. I’ve always believed we can define America in one word: Possibilities. That in America everyone should be given the opportunity to go as far as their dreams and God-given ability will take them. You see, I believe in the possibility of this country. We’re always looking ahead. Ahead to an America that’s freer and more just. Ahead to an America that creates jobs with dignity and respect. Ahead to an America that cures disease -- like cancer and Alzheimers. Ahead to an America that never leaves anyone behind. Ahead to an America that never gives up. This is a great nation. And we are a good people. This is the United States of America. And there has never been anything we haven’t been able to do when we’ve done it together. In the last days of the campaign, I’ve been thinking about a hymn that means a lot to me and to my family. It captures the faith that sustains me and which I believe sustains America. And I hope it can provide some comfort and solace to the more than 230,000 families who have lost a loved one to this terrible virus this year. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. “And He will raise you up on eagle's wings, Bear you on the breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun, And hold you in the palm of His Hand.” And now, together -- on eagle’s wings -- we embark on the work that God and history have called upon us to do. With full hearts and steady hands, with faith in America and in each other, with a love of country -- and a thirst for justice -- let us be the nation that we know we can be. A nation united. A nation strengthened. A nation healed. God bless you. And may God protect our troops. Joe Biden

President-Elect Joe Biden Addresses the Nation
transcribed from: x
Hello my fellow Americans.
And the people that brought me to dance, Delawarians. I see my buddy, Senator Tom Carper, down there; and I think Senator Coons is there, and I think the Governor is around. Is that Ruth Ann? And former Governor Ruth Ann Minner. Most importantly, my sisters-in-law and my sister, Valerie.
Anyway, folks, the people of this nation have spoken. They have delivered us a clear victory, a convincing victory, a victory for We the People. We’ve won with the most votes ever cast for a presidential ticket in the history of the nation, 74 million. While I must admit it surprised me, tonight we’re seeing all over this nation, all cities and all parts of the country- indeed across the world- an outpouring of joy, of hope, renewed faith; and tomorrow will bring a better day.
And I am humbled by the trust and confidence you have placed in me. I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide but unify, who doesn’t see red states and blue states, only sees the United States. I’ll work with all my heart with the confidence of the whole people to win the confidence of all of you- and for that is what America, I believe, is about. It’s about people, and that’s what our administration will be all about.
I sought this office to restore the soul of America
to rebuild the backbone of this nation, the middle class, and to make America respected around the world again. And to unite us here at home. It’s the honor of my lifetime that so many millions of Americans have voted for that vision. And now the work of making that vision is real. It’s a task, the task of our time.
Folks, as I said many times before, I’m Jill’s husband. And i would not be here without her love and tireless support, and my son Hunter and Ashley my daughter, and all our grandchildren and their spouses and all our family. They’re my heart. Jill’s a mom, a military mom, an educator. She has dedicated her life to education- but teaching isn’t just what she does, it’s who she is. For American educators, this is a great day for you all. You’re going to have one of your own in the White House. And Jill is going to make a great First Lady. I’m so proud of her.
I’ll have the honor of serving with a fantastic Vice President you just heard from, Kamala Harris. She’ll make history as the first woman, the first black woman, the first woman from South Asian descent, the first daughter of immigrants, ever elected in this country- don’t tell me it’s not possible in the United States! It’s long overdue and we’re reminded tonight of those who fought so hard for so many years to make this happen.
Once again, America has bent the arc of the moral universe more toward justice.
Kamala, Doug, like it or not, you’re family. You’ve become an honorary Biden, there’s no way out. For all those of you who volunteered and worked the polls in the middle of this pandemic, local elected officials, you deserve a special thanks from the entire nation. And to my campaign team and all the volunteers and all who gave so much of themselves to make this moment possible: I owe you. I owe you, I owe you everything.
And to all those who supported us, I'm proud of the campaign we built and ran. I’m proud of the coalition we put together. The broadest and most diverse coalition in history: Democrats, Republicans, Independents; Progressives, Moderates, Conservatives; young, old, urban, suburban, rural; gay, straight, transgender; white, Latino, Asian, Native American. I mean it- and especially those moments when this campaign was at its lowest ebb, the African-American community stood up again for me. They have always had my back, and I'll have yours.
I said at the outset, I wanted this campaign to represent and look like America. We’ve done that.
Now, that’s what I want the administration to look like and act like.
For all those of you who voted for President Trump, I understand the disappointment tonight. I’ve lost a couple of times myself. But now, let’s give each other a chance.
It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature
See each other again, listen to each other again; and to make progress we have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies. They are not our enemies, they are Americans.
The Bible tells us:  to everything there is a season, a time to build, a time to reap and a time to sow and a time to heal.
This is the time to heal in America.
Now this campaign is over, what is the will of the people?  What is our mandate? I believe it’s this:  America has called upon us to marshal the forces of decency, the forces of fairness; to marshal the forces of science and the forces of hope and the great battles of our time; the battle of control of the virus, the battle to build prosperity, the battle to secure your family’s health care, the battle to achieve racial justice and rout out systemic racism in this country, and the battle to save our planet by getting climate under control. The battle to restore decency, defend democracy and give everybody in this country a fair shot. That’s all they’re asking for: a fair shot.
Folks, our work begins with getting COVID under control. We cannot repair the economy, restore our vitality or relish life’s most precious moments- hugging our grandchildren, our children; birthdays, weddings, graduations- all the moments that matter most to us, until we get it under control.
On Monday I will name a group of leading scientists and experts as transition advisers to help take the Biden/Harris COVID plan and convert it into an action blueprint that will start on January the 20th,  2021.
That plan will be built on bedrock science. It will be constructed out of compassion, empathy, and concern. I will spare no effort, none, or any commitment, to turn around this pandemic.
Folks, I’m a proud Democrat. But i will govern as an American President. I’ll work as hard for those who didn’t vote for me as those who did. Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end here and now. Refusal of Democrats and Republicans to cooperate with one another is not some mysterious force beyond our control, it’s a decision, a choice we make.
If we can decide not to cooperate, then we can decide to cooperate.
And I believe that this is part of the mandate given to us from the American people. They want us to cooperate in their interests, and that’s the choice I'll make. I’ll call on Congress- Democrats, Republicans alike- to make that choice with me.
The American story is about a slow yet steadily widening the opportunities in America. And make no mistake,
too many dreams have been deferred for too long.
We must make the promise of the country real for everybody, no matter their race, their ethnicity, their faith, their identity, or their disability.
Folks, America has always been shaped by inflection points: by moments in time where we made hard decisions about who we are and what we want to be.
Lincoln in 1860 coming to save the Union; FDR in 1932 promising a beleaguered country a New Deal; JFK pledging a new frontier; and 12 years ago when Barack Obama made history and told us, Yes, we can. Folks, we stand at an inflection point. We have an opportunity to defeat despair; to build a nation of prosperity and purpose.
We can do it, I know we can.
I’ve long talked about the battle for the soul of America. We must restore the soul of America. Our nation is shaped by the constant battle between our better angels and our darkest impulses. And what presidents say in this battle matters. It’s time for our better angels to prevail. Tonight the whole world is watching America. And I believe at our best, America is a beacon for the globe.
We will lead not only by the example of our power, but by the power of our example.
I’ve always believed, many have heard me say, I’ve always believed we can define America in one word:
Possibilities.
That in America, everyone should be given the opportunity to go as far as their dreams and God-given ability will take them. I believe in the possibilities in this country. We’re always looking ahead. Ahead to an America that’s freer and more just. Ahead to an America that pays jobs with dignity and respect. Ahead to an America that cures diseases like cancer and alzheimer’s. Ahead to an America that never leaves anyone behind. An America that never gives up, never gives in. This is a great nation. It’s always been a bad bet to bet against America.
We’re good people. This is the United States of America and there’s never been anything, never been anything we’ve been not able to do when we’ve done it together.
Folks, in the last days of the campaign, I began thinking about a hymn that means a lot to me and my family, particularly my deceased son, Beau. It captures the faith that sustains me, which I believe sustains America, and I hope it can provide some comfort and solace to 230,000 Americans who have lost a loved one to this terrible virus this year. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. Hopefully this hymn gives you solace as well. It goes like this:
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings Bear you on the breath of dawn   And make you to shine like the sun   And hold you in the palm of His hand
And now together on eagles’ wings we embark on the work that God and history have called upon us to do with full hearts and steady hands, with faith in America and in each other, with love of country, a thirst for Justice.
Let us be the nation that we know we can be, a nation united, a nation strengthened, a nation healed: the United States of America.
Ladies and gentlemen, there’s never, never been anything we’ve tried and not been able to do.
So remember, as my grandpa said when I walked out of his home when I was a kid up in Scranton:
He said, “Joey, keep the faith.”
Our grandmother when she was alive, she said, “No, Joey- spread it.”
Spread the faith! God love you all! May God bless America and may God protect our troops!

Joe Biden declared winner of U.S. election after record turnout: AP
The Associated Press declares that Joe Biden has won the presidency of the United States in a record turnout election.
Biden reached 284 electoral votes on Friday, after The Associated Press called Pennsylvania in his favour. Biden won both the electoral college and the popular vote, and is the first presidential candidate in history to surpass 70 million votes.
AP’s electoral college vote count includes Biden winning Arizona, which other major news networks had yet to declare as they await the results from about 450,000 outstanding ballots.
Follow every twist and turn between presidential candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump on our Facebook group
Trump’s loss adds his name to a short list of one-term presidents. The last incumbent president to lose his re-election bid was Republican George H. W. Bush in 1992.
The win also marks a milestone in American politics as California Senator Kamala Harris, the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, is set to become the first female U.S. vice-president.
The declaration of a winner comes after several tense days of ballot counting that saw an early Trump lead give way to Biden in a number of key swing states once mail-in ballots began to be tallied.
As electoral maps started shifting from red to blue, a distrustful Trump made repeated, baseless claims the election was being “stolen” through widespread voter fraud.
The president offered no evidence to support his fabricated accusations as he tried to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the ballot-counting process and launched multiple lawsuits in several states, including Georgia, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He also vowed to push for a recount in Wisconsin, where Biden was declared the winner on Wednesday.
The race was a nail-biter in large part due to an unprecedented number of mail-in ballots, many of which have taken days to count. In Pennsylvania, for example, mail-in ballots could not legally be opened and counted until election day.
The surge in mail-in ballots was driven, in large part, by the COVID-19 pandemic, which persuaded many voters to cast their votes from afar to avoid large crowds on election day. These mailed ballots largely favoured Biden after Trump had spent the months leading up to the election urging his supporters against voting by mail.
In addition to its impact on mail-in ballots, the pandemic coloured other aspects of the campaign. Biden consistently attacked Trump’s record on the crisis, accusing Trump of a failure of leadership that cost hundreds of thousands of American lives. Meanwhile, Trump accused Biden of not having a plan to handle the crisis and of wanting to shut down the entire economy to control the spread, a claim Biden repeatedly denied.
Even after Trump, his wife Melania, and numerous other members of his inner circle contracted the virus in early October, the president continued to downplay the severity of the global pandemic.
The federal government’s response to the health emergency as well as Trump’s insistence on holding large rallies for his supporters throughout the campaign drew sharp criticism from the country’s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who became more outspoken in his opposition to the president’s handling of the pandemic in the latter days of the election.
Biden, conversely, shunned in-person rallies and held online and drive-in events for his supporters. He also expressed support for Fauci throughout the campaign and promised to listen to the nation’s top health experts for advice on curbing the spread of COVID-19 should he be elected.
Along with promising to “shut down the virus,” and not the the economy as Trump accused throughout the campaign, Biden campaigned on a message to “build back better.” He promised to restore decency to the White House while also prioritizing issues such as climate change and racial justice.
On the racial justice front, Biden depended on a strong turnout among Black voters in cities such as Philadelphia, Detroit, and Milwaukee, to bolster his support in key states.
While Trump has been accused of racist remarks and inflaming racial divides across the U.S., Biden has faced his own share of criticism for his past record on Black rights, including his treatment of Anita Hill at Clarence Thomas' Supreme Court confirmation hearing in 1991 and his support for a crime bill in 1994 that has been blamed for putting a generation of Black men in prison.
During the campaign, however, Biden prioritized racial justice issues, expressing support for the Black Lives Matter movement and acknowledging that systemic racism exists and should be addressed.
On climate change and environmental issues, Biden and Trump offered wildly different plans for the future. Trump has described climate change as a “hoax,” and removed the U.S. from the 2015 Paris Agreement – a global pact aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to curb Earth’s rising temperatures.
Biden, on the other hand, has promised to have the U.S. rejoin the Paris Agreement in addition to reinstating Obama-era emissions rules. He has also vowed to invest in clean energy and environmental research to address what he has described as a “climate emergency.”
In addition to an expected reversal on climate policies, the shift in power will undoubtedly shake up the United States’ relationship with its closest trading partner: Canada. Trump repeatedly targeted Canada with tariffs on steel and aluminum amid negotiations on the new NAFTA.
Trump also personally attacked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, calling him two-faced in the wake of a video of Trudeau speaking candidly to other world leaders about the president.

Joe Biden’s speech Nov 7, 2020
My fellow Americans, the people of this nation have spoken. They have delivered us a clear victory. A convincing victory. A victory for “We the People.”We have won with the most votes ever cast for a presidential ticket in the history of this nation -- 74 million.I am humbled by the trust and confidence you have placed in me.I pledge to be a President who seeks not to divide, but to unify. Who doesn’t see Red and Blue states, but a United States. And who will work with all my heart to win the confidence of the whole people. For that is what America is about: The people. And that is what our Administration will be about.I sought this office to restore the soul of America. To rebuild the backbone of the nation -- the middle class. To make America respected around the world again and to unite us here at home.It is the honor of my lifetime that so many millions of Americans have voted for this vision. it’s #nationalvoterregistrationday! as a progressive, I’m voting for Biden/Harris and for Democrats at the state and local level because SO much is at stake. comment a 🇺🇸 if you’re voting blue too! ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ be sure to check if you’re registered at vote.org and swipe to see what states allow online registration. (in TX, you can start the form online but have to mail it in!)⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ time for a politics rant bc I don’t have many other outlets for this stuff since graduating from Georgetown (#hoyasaxa lmao): ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ in the past, I use to say “doesn’t matter who you vote for just make sure you vote bc it’s our duty in a democracy to do what we can to shape our future” BUT that messaging no longer applies. as much as I’m not thrilled about having yet another old white man for president, Biden is the ONLY viable option for building a country where all Americans have the chance to live with justice and dignity. sounds dramatic because it is! any vote that’s not for Biden is a vote for Trump. ⁣ ⁣ if you feel like it sucks to “pick between two evils,” I hear you, and great minds are working on that. check out @representus and their materials on the American Anti-Corruption Act which would help fix our democracy by passing policies like ranked choice voting. ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ so why not Trump? simply put, we cannot afford 4 more years of his incompetence—economically, socially, environmentally, etc. he has demonstrated tyrannical tendencies which is hella alarming. he has made over 20,000 FALSE claims, actively hurting our ability to have meaningful discourse over policy. finally—and I can’t believe this has to be said about a US president—as a **legally documented** sexual predator and corrupt business leader, he is blatantly unfit for office.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ meanwhile, Biden is a savvy politician who knows Washington and can get things done. he will restore decency to the White House, he has a robust climate and renewable energy plan, he will defend civil liberties, and he will take public health seriously. most importantly, he will appoint **qualified** people to lead all the executive agencies—which do a lot of work most of us never hear about but affects our everyday lives!⁣⁣⁣ (at San Antonio, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFdVj-tBvxA/?igshid=ht91h79buahg

+ WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden pledged to cut U.S. greenhouse gas pollution in half by 2030 at a virtual climate summit Thursday (4-22-2021), outlining an aggressive target that would require sweeping changes to America's energy and transportation sectors. + "These steps will set America on a path of a net-zero emissions economy by no later than 2050," Biden said as the White House opened the two-day summit, attended by 40 leaders from around the world. ... + The White House's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% to 52%, from a baseline of 2005 emissions, is nearly double the target set by the Obama administration in 2015.  An administration official, who briefed reporters on the condition of anonymity, did not detail how the White House plans to achieve the 50% reduction in emissions.

I woke up this morning to my mom shouting that Biden won. I got up and went to the living room and my siblings joined us and the family celebrated. We celebrated an end to an evil president's hopes of becoming a dictator. We celebrated hope that our rights might be protected. We celebrated the first hope we have had in a long time that we might see the incitement of violence against people of color, women, queer people, all marginalized groups that Trump has repeatedly dogwhistled and received the response of violence. My mother and I registered to vote together in 2012 to vote for President Obama. Her first vote in her life was at 45 to my 21 and we have both voted I'm every election since. When Trump won we both were just waiting for the day to vote him out and it being on the 200th anniversary year of women achieving for that right is moving to me. My mother and I voted out a white supremacist with largely the help of women of color and queer people like me. I sincerely cannot wait to have a civilized human being and a woman of color taking leadership and working to restore basic decency to the Whitehouse. Congratulations President-elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris. I finally can exhale after 4 years of fearing for the lives of me and my family and see a light ahead. https://www.instagram.com/p/CHTdh01hALj/?igshid=orc5qukrku6t

Evaluation: Biden conjures hope and bears ache for a grieving nation In a transferring interlude to his inaugural tackle, silence fell over the US Capitol and the Nationwide Mall as Biden paused to guide Individuals in a second of silent prayer, to honor the greater than 400,000 fellow residents taken by Covid-19. However as he has completed all through a life scarred by household tragedies, Biden sought power within the second of mourning, prepared the nation to beat its divides, after admitting that ignoring their existence was a “silly fantasy.” “Now, we’re going to be examined. Are we going to step up? All of us?” Biden requested as he began into the nation’s huge inside on the West Entrance of the Capitol that was invaded by a marauding mob solely two weeks in the past. Regardless of warning of a “winter of peril,” Biden’s inaugural tackle was a uncommon second of hope and inspiration almost a yr into the nation’s battle with a virus that has shut down regular life and fractured group and households. The forty sixth President struck a pointy distinction with the darkish rant about “American carnage” issued by Donald Trump in his inaugural tackle 4 years in the past. The ex-President was unseen behind the partitions of his Florida resort membership on the hour when his tumultuous time period expired. Biden did not point out Trump. However by praising the survival of American democracy and condemning “shouting,” “exhausting outrage,” a “state of chaos” and politics as a “raging hearth destroying every part in its path,” Biden clearly sought to show the web page from the discord of the Trump years. He additionally pointedly rejected the signature attribute of the Trump period of lies which within the former president’s refusal to just accept his election defeat threatened the democratic constructions of the nation itself. “We should reject the tradition during which details themselves are manipulated and even manufactured,” Biden mentioned. Solely two weeks in the past, the platform on which Biden delivered his inaugural tackle was overcome by a pro-Trump mob on its solution to riot within the Capitol. Recollections of that outrage added poignancy to the brand new President’s remark that “at this hour, democracy has prevailed.” Biden’s tackle was much less hovering than some inaugural addresses. However its energy lay in the best way he gave the impression to be speaking to each particular person American, virtually like President Franklin Roosevelt in his fireplace chats during which he guided the nation out of the Nice Melancholy. “Let’s begin afresh, all of us, let’s start to pay attention to at least one one other once more, hear each other, present respect to at least one one other.” The swearing-in of Kamala Harris, America’s first feminine, first Black and first South Asian vp, will ship certified progress within the halting march to racial justice and gender equality. Biden’s empathy was cast within the unfathomable horror of burying his first spouse, toddler daughter and grownup son. Simply as he comforted bereaved supporters on numerous marketing campaign path rope traces, he’s now assuming the nation’s grief over the pandemic. After discovering new cause to dwell following his personal bereavements, he is difficult Individuals to honor their very own losses by uniting to win the battle to revive regular life. Biden’s first responsibility on his return to Washington Wednesday was to guide a transferring sundown vigil below a purple sky on the Lincoln Memorial for these misplaced — a step by no means taken by Trump, a longtime pandemic denier who appeared to consider that dignifying the lifeless stained his personal picture. The solemn occasion, that includes Michigan nurse Lori Marie Key, who sang “Wonderful Grace,” underscored Biden’s guarantees to revive decency to the middle of energy as he seeks to nurture the nation’s battered soul. Below the marbled gaze of the statue of Abraham Lincoln, who took workplace in maybe the one time when America has been extra divided than in the present day, traces of lights stretched like gravestones in direction of the distant Washington Monument. Biden’s grave challenges As he labored on his personal inaugural tackle, Biden needed to ponder a pandemic that has by no means been worse, a vaccine rollout that may be a complicated mess, an financial system pulverized by shutdowns and a technology of children who’ve missed essential months of in-person education. His challenges have grow to be much more acute because the election, as Trump’s refusal to confess defeat and try to steal Biden’s victory, in addition to an riot in opposition to Congress, hammered Biden’s legitimacy and uncovered a White nationalist inner insurgency that can pose an ongoing risk to US safety and democracy. America’s present chasms recommend but extra synergy between Biden and his second of historical past. Regardless of many years of worsening nationwide polarization, the President-elect nonetheless thinks he can enlist his previous Senate Republican sparring companion, Mitch McConnell, in passing components of his legislative agenda and a brand new pandemic stimulus plan. Many Democrats are extremely skeptical. And Republicans who dwell in worry of Trump and his 74 million voters haven’t any cause to make Biden’s presidency successful. However Biden’s old school wager on constructing an administration on compromise at a time when such sentiments have not often been much less incentivized was enticing to many citizens weary of Washington’s partisan wars. And after Trump tried to make it a legal responsibility within the marketing campaign, his half-century profession as a Washington insider would possibly simply equip him to overtake the lame federal response to Covid-19 and lead the nation out of its nightmare. An unlikely journey When Biden positioned his hand on the Bible on Wednesday and takes the oath of workplace, he accomplished a political and private journey that had appeared fated to fall in need of the White Home. The person who was as soon as one of many youngest senators in historical past grew to become at 78, the nation’s oldest president. At the present time would by no means have come had Biden adopted his preliminary instincts and given up the newly gained Delaware US Senate seat he gained in 1972 after his spouse and toddler daughter died in a automobile crash. Biden spent months by the facet of his surviving sons, Beau and Hunter, as they slowly recovered from critical accidents. Within the late Nineteen Eighties, he skilled his personal well being crises with a mind aneurysm that almost killed him. However he bounced again. Tragedy would go to Biden once more in Could 2015, when Beau, an Iraq Struggle veteran and Democratic rising star, died of mind most cancers. Biden at all times noticed Beau as a greater model of himself. A tearful President-elect on Wednesday confessed: “Girls and gentleman, I solely have one remorse: he is not right here as a result of we must be introducing him as president.” Beau’s dying finally satisfied Biden to not mount a bid for the Democratic nomination in 2016 in opposition to Hillary Clinton amid concern about his household’s emotional endurance for a race. However destiny referred to as him again into the political area due to Trump’s aberrant presidency and the commander in chief’s equivocation over condemning marches by White supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia. “Joe Biden has a therapeutic coronary heart. He has been by means of a lot,” former Vice President Al Gore advised CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Tuesday night. A modified man Biden is now a much more disciplined politician than he was for a lot of his profession. His portrayal within the seminal “What It Takes — The Approach to the White Home,” an account of the 1988 presidential marketing campaign by the late Richard Ben Cramer, was as a political charmer, with a stunning smile, glad-handing type and preening self-belief that the presidency was his future. However Biden’s 1988 marketing campaign dissolved amid a plagiarism scandal. In 2008, he dropped out after an anemic exhibiting within the Iowa caucuses. Even when he was chosen by Barack Obama as his vice presidential nominee, lots of the youthful aides across the soon-to-be president thought of Biden a loose-lipped caricature — an impression he strengthened by including to his lengthy checklist of political gaffes. However Vice President Biden’s regular stewardship of the Restoration Act — which added to his pedigree as he sought the presidency this time round — gained him admirers, and after eight years of loyalty to Obama, he was liked and revered within the White Home. Now, slowed somewhat by age, and with the windy opening statements that set eyes rolling within the Senate International Relations Committee only a reminiscence, Biden has displayed surprising late-in-life political adeptness. Solely a yr in the past, it appeared his political ambitions would once more founder after horrible leads to the Iowa and New Hampshire nominating races. However with trademark persistence, he hauled himself again up off the mat with a well-known win in South Carolina, which rocketed him to the Democratic nomination and the presidency. His dealing with of Trump’s unprecedented disruption throughout a treacherous transition was distilled from the knowledge of many years in excessive workplace, and a willingness to subvert his personal ego for the great of the nation — one other stark comparability with the outgoing President. His marketing campaign benefited from the curtailment of an exhausting journey schedule. However each time he wanted to point out gravitas and poise — like within the debates in opposition to Trump and on the Democratic Nationwide Conference — Biden delivered, exhibiting a brand new, spare talking type that was probably a preview of his presidential bully pulpit and was formed by his tragedies and redemption. That sturdiness within the face of non-public angst is the power that lastly propelled Biden to his longed-for vacation spot — the Oval Workplace — on Wednesday. And it is why he would possibly simply be the person for a dangerous American second.
