" Isn't it beautiful tonight? "
☆ seonghwa

" I dare you to do the parasailing, if you do it then I'll do it "
★ yunho
- Rome, Italy - you guys go to a lot of historic tours through Rome (Colosseum, Roman Forum) and art-filled institutions (Vatican Museums, Galleria Borghese) - yunho takes way too many photos of you and him during your trip - you guys almost get lost in one of Roman's catacombs, but don't worry you guys get out soon...somehow - probably will go back next time you go on vacation
" Oh shit..I think we're lost Y/N '
☆ yeosang
- London, England - he probably would go back bc he loved the city so much - takes you everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE (it's his only time to spend time with you all day) - can't stop fangirling over every photo you take of yourself - probably proposed to you at the top of The London Eye, if not then he would just kiss you
" Since you've been around I smile a lot more than I used to, and that's why I love you "
★ san

" She's perfect for us, let's adopt her! "
☆ mingi
- New Zealand - there are so many things to do in New Zealand so of course he would pick to go there - you guys would go to the glow worms cave, which you find so pretty but mingi is afraid they will fall on him (they won't) - you also get to take a tour around the Hobbiton movie set, mingi's treat - you do a lot of more fun stuff during the week you have together (Shotover River Extreme Jet Boat Ride in Queenstown, Waitomo Caves & Te Puia in Aucklund)
★ wooyoung
- New York City, United States - the members were on tour in america and one of their stops was new york city - you ended up flyng down there and surprising wooyoung at his hotel - you guys do a lot of sightseeing: the statue of liberty, summit one Vanderbilt, and you went on a cruise - at night you and the members would go out and have fun...maybe get drunk
" This view is amazing, it feels like I'm about to fall "
☆ jongho
- Sydney, Australia - you've always wanted to go to australia, so jongho decided to surprise you on your birthday - you spend a whole week there going shopping, sightseeing, playing in the water with jongho and having the best birthday ever (Darling Harbour, Queen Victoria Building, Sydney Opera House, etc.) - at the end of the week (your birthday) all the members, and your friends surprise you a birthday cake - you end up with the cake smashed into you face. wooyoung definitely didn't do it..
" You got a little something on your face "

Mai Tai experience 2024
Adventures of 60 somethings on board a catamaran.
On the 31st of January 2024, we became the proud owners of a Lagoon 400 2010 model, located in Opua New Zealand.
On the 27th of February, after a few family engagements, we flew to Auckland and drove 3 hours to Opua Marina, gathering some simple supplies on the way. I felt so cold and exhausted when we arrived that I nearly cried at the thought of living on this small, damp and smelly boat for the next 5 years. What had we done, we had a perfectly good life in a house. Why why why?
Tumblr media
The next day was better.
28th February 2024, we sorted out a few things and organized a few others. Where to put clothes, towels, and did we have enough. Sheets were on board, but I threw most out as they were thin and barley reuseable. I started a list of things to but for us and the boat to be comfortable and livable for the next…..years?
So first trip in our hire car to Whangarei, (Pronounced Foneray) we found Spotlight, Countdown, Kmart and Bunnings. We loaded up and drove the 1 hour back to Opua.
1st March 2024: Next day we though we would take her for a spin and charge batteries and empty the black water tank, (the wee and poo tank). So we got out to open water and came into the bay of Russell. Lovely little spot but the anchor wouldn’t go down, so I suggested David just drive around and Ill cook breakfast/brunch.
So we did that and headed back to the marina. On our approach, on an outgoing tide, she was hard to handle. The birth spot was big enough for a catamaran but not big enough for us to park in with our limited experience and a tide that wanted to push us where we did not want to go. So I am running around the deck shouting directions to David. More like, “STOP, YOUR GOING TO HIT THE WHARF”. More things like, “Oh what the FUCK, we are going to crash”. Came out of my mouth on several occasions. We had the neighbours, folk from boats near us, on the dock along with the harbor master Shane. He was speaking calmly to David about pulling back and not so heavy on the power, but I don’t think he could hear him over my screaming, “We are going to crash.”
Tumblr media
Yes we hit the dock and crushed our port side sugar scoop with an indent of about 25cm long and 10cm deep. Not too much damage to the boat but our self esteem was shattered, and I was a nervous wreck. One of our neighbours from a boat named Scallywag, was on the dock to console us. He had just had a similar experience and the tide pushed him into the bow spirt of another boat punching a hole in the side of his 50 ft catamaran…..Ouch.
2nd March 2024: Olly the previous owner came by and he sorted out the windlass, (anchor) not working problem. He said he cleaned up some loose wiring and maybe some got lost in the process and he unplugged the windlass. Not sure but he got it going and answered a lot of David's questions. We told him about our encounter with the dock and he said, “You know what they say, “You haven’t been around if you haven’t run aground”. I’m not sure if that made me feel better but, there you have it.
3rd March 2024: We gathered up our torn confidence and broken dreams decided we had to get back on the horse….so to speak. So out we went for another attempt at having fun on our new boat. This time we dropped the anchor in Russell, and I just put the kettle on when the afternoon storm that was expected at 1pm came early and interrupted our 10am brunch. So up came the anchor and we headed back to the marina. Before we even arrived my stress levels were off the chart. But we listened to Shane and came in on a slack tide and we managed to berth Mai Tai without incident. This was cause for celebration, so we had a shower and went into Paihia for dinner and a bottle of wine.
8th March 2024: Flew back to Sydney for my 60th birthday cruise on board Celebrity Edge to …..of all places, New Zealand. During this cruise we saw parts of the South Island and the sounds that were absolutely breath taking. The enormity of these places that we could now explore in our own boat! So we decided to skip the Rally to Fiji this year and explore New Zealand for 12 months. Plus we are not experienced enough in operating our boat yet. We need time and some nautical miles before we conquer open water.

🎄 Giftmas Day 9: Polaroid--Polin
On their fiftieth wedding anniversary, Colin and Penelope reminisce on their journey together.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
After the extended family had left, with the gaggle of grandchildren ferried out after their sugar-highs, Penelope rested in her armchair—the yellow velvet had faded slightly from their bright hue which had stuck out at that boot sale in Cornwall. The pair had spent a good twenty minutes trying to fit that, and a matching blue velvet piece, around Agatha’s car-seat.
“Here you go, my sunflower,” Colin said, bringing over a tray with tea and biscuits upon it.
“Thank you,” Penelope grasped the Christmas mug that George’s children had given them for Christmas last year “I do love our family but they do tire us out so.” Colin sighed loudly as he deflated into his blue velvet chair. “It was lovely for Thomas and his boys to make the trip, it has been an age since we visited Sydney.”
“Those boys have shot up—Richard in university already. Although I do worry about Jane. Still unsettled at her age.”
“Oh she has always been your daughter—always a wanderer. And she is not lonely with all her friends.”
“I suppose…fifty years…”
Penelope looked down at her wedding band, a little tarnished, but still as gold as the day Colin had slipped it on her finger in the church.
“Hmm, half a lifetime of adventures together,” she responded.
Colin turned to her and smiled—the same smile that had enchanted her ever since their first meeting as children.
“Indeed, speaking of. I have a little surprise for you.”
He slowly reached around, wincing slightly due to the stiffness in his back.
“Oh Colin, we said our present to one another would be that cruise in the New Year.” Penelope protested.
“I know, I know, but I couldn’t help myself—especially after your birthday present to me.”
Penelope blushed. It had taken a little bit of preparation to restore Colin’s old polaroid camera, as great a companion as Penelope, but Benedict had done a wonderful job—even with the arthritis settling into his fingers.
“I became inspired, and I made this—with Agatha’s help.”
He handed her a leatherbound book, Penelope opened and gasped.
“Oh Colin…”
Penelope flicked through the pages, filled with excerpts from Colin’s family journals in print or in spider-scrawl handwriting. At the centre of every page was a polaroid picture, taken on the very same camera Penelope had gifted him at his leaving party after A-levels.
She flicked through pages of their retirement cruises or visits to their children who had inherited their travel bug and scattered across the globe. Polaroids taken from significant family events both their immediate family and the Bridgerton brood. Penelope watched her grey hair turn back to the red of her youth as she posed in various countries with their children at different heights. The pictures trailed back further to the first years of their marriage when they had walked across continents and written as many words as their steps. Then a picture of Colin dipping her in a white dress, the backdrop being Aubrey Hall (ofcourse). Then a shot from their proposal ‘lunch’ at their favourite café in St. Andrews, frequented whenever Colin had visited Penelope through her university years. Then a few sunny photos of the pair in various places in the same pose but with different emotions in their eyes changing as subtly as their friendship had back then.
Then the final page, the final polaroid, but also the first taken.
Penelope sat posing half-heartedly to the camera, all eighteen-years of youth and bright smiles at Colin’s leaving party before his very first adventure. To this day, Penelope could remember that precise moment.
“Pen, blimey—this is amazing!” Colin cried upon unwrapping the polaroid. He lunged over to her and squashed her into a bearhug, almost capsizing the drink in her hand.
Penelope blushed. When he released her, she muttered.
“Oh, I thought it would suit—trendy you know?”
“And it’s yellow,” he commented, “for my sunflower-girl.” He gave her a wink and Penelope’s heart fluttered. But years of restraint ensured she only replied,
“Something to remember me by when you are away in all these exotic places.”
“Oh, Pen. I would never forget you,” Colin’s blue eyes sobered, and Pen became caught in them. A moment later the spark came back. “Go on pose!”
“What?”
“Pose—you shall have the honour of the first picture—off you go.”
“Colin—really?”
“Yes, I insist. Host’s prerogative.”
“Technically your mother is—”
“Peeen.”
“Fine, fine.”
She posed, blushing a little self-consciously as she always did in photos.
The camera flashed and Colin whooped. He kept his eyes glued to the picture as it developed his grin going wider and wider. Then it softened, just as his eyes had done, and he turned to her.
Penelope scrunched her nose up at the picture—as she did to most of her pictures—but made a noncommittal shrug of approval.
“I need a caption!” Colin cried and routed around for a pen, he chewed on the end of a biro. Penelope took a moment to memorise his features; the furrow between his eyebrows, the slope of his nose and the dimples on his cheeks.
“I’ll keep it simple,” he scribbled something down then showed it to her. Penelope blushed further but Colin was already storing it in his camera bag. “There.” He patted the pocket. “So, I never forget.”
And he hadn’t, not even after all these years. For there was the picture, and there was the caption.
My sunflower girl.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Ngl. I might make fit this into the 'Six Moments' universe on AO3. Six important photos throughout Polin's life.

Nicole Kidman shares a gushing tribute to her husband Keith Urban as she celebrates his birthday
Tumblr media
They're the A-list couple who have never been afraid to show their affection for one another.
And on Thursday,  shared a sweet tribute to her husband as she celebrated his 55th birthday.
The actress, 55, shared a photo to Instagram of herself and her husband embracing and sharing a kiss at an event.
Tumblr media
'Happy Birthday my love... 4ever,' she captioned the image, adding love heart emojis.
Nicole and Keith married on the 25th of June, 2006, after meeting at an event the previous year.
The couple tied the knot at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in the grounds of St Patrick's College in Manly, Sydney.
Tumblr media
A-list guests including Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness, along with Naomi Watts and director Baz Luhrmann were in attendance.
Nicole's two adopted children, Isabella, 29, and Connor, 27, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, acted as bridesmaid and usher.
The couple later welcomed daughters Sunday Rose, 14, and Faith Margaret, 12, in 2008 and 2010.
Keith recently admitted he turned his back on partying to focus on his family with wife Nicole.
Tumblr media
The country singer publicly battled drug and alcohol addiction, and entered rehab on several occasions, last checking himself into the Betty Ford Center in October 2006, just months after marrying Nicole.
Now Keith has admitted his marriage is a major factor in remaining sober and keeping out of trouble.
'I'd like to stay married!' Keith told The Sun. 'Night-time me hates daytime me, it's so true. But the next morning night-time me is nowhere to be found — he's totally unaccountable.'
Tumblr media
Keith added: 'Life is very different nowadays. I'm trying to set a good example for the kids, but I still don't know if I'm getting it right.
'I have made so many mistakes, but you have to work out what works for you. My message to them is always to do what-ever they are passionate about, I don't care, as long as they work hard to achieve it.'
Keith said staying on top of his successful career, which includes touring, releasing music, and working as a mentor on The Voice Australia, helps him stay sober too.

[SYDNEY PARK, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER/HERS] who’s that? oh it’s [JENNIFER “JENNY” HAYES]. i hear they’re [EIGHTEEN] and are known as [THE DADDY’S GIRL] around [THE COUNTRY CLUB]. they’re also a [FRESHMAN] at [PURDUE HCC]. they’re known to be [CHARMING & OUTSPOKEN] and [MEAN & STUBBORN]. some people say they remind them of [FOOTBALL GAMES UNDER THE LIGHTS, SUMMERS BY THE POOL, GOSSIPING IN THE GIRLS’ BATHROOM, GETTING MANI/PEDIS, & PARTIES AT THE LAKE HOUSE].
basics.
full name: jennifer anne hayes. nicknames: jenny, mostly. sometimes jen (though the people who call her that? generally not friends. she doesn’t go by jen as a rule.) gender/pronouns: cisfemale/she/her/hers. sexual orientation: she’s, like, super gay, dude. she’s also so deep in the closet that she’s found narnia. birthday: august 22nd. star sign: leo. charismatic, confident, determined...and a bit vain, pretentious, and arrogant. occupation: incoming freshman at purdue, on a cheer scholarship and studying hospitality or something equally boring that she doesn’t really care about. she doesn’t have to work because her dad’s a doctor. lucky her.
personality.
positive traits: outgoing, clever, charming, confident, ambitious. negative traits: confrontational, self-absorbed, vain, mean, cocky. hogwarts house: i know jkr sucks and also this isn’ a thing in the 80s but she’s a really MEAN gryffindor. the asshole kind. think james potter at his absolute WORST. that’s jenny. alignment: chaotic evil. ennegram: 3w2. personality type: esfp.
backstory.
born to the hayes family on a rainy august night, jenny arrived on the scene just like she did everything in life: early and on her terms. she was breech, supposed to be a scheduled c-section, and born in the month of september but...some things don’t go as planned. (after an emergency c-section with her youngest, mrs. hayes vowed that she was done having kids).
her father is a surgeon at hawkins general hospital, which means he’s a busy guy and not around much. her mother took care of raising her and her three older siblings. and for the most part, it was fine. her parents aren’t in love at all and should probably be divorced by now, but dr. hayes’ income supports her mom -and jenny’s- lavish lifestyle, so they’re together “for the kids”...but mostly for the cash.
the hayes family lives in the rich part of hawkins, in a housing development full of snobby people with too many cars in the driveway and lots of kids. they have a lake house on lover’s lake, a vacation home in the carolinas, and their own pool in their hawkins home, which made jenny’s house a popular place to bring the kids when they were little...and a popular party spot when they got a bit older.
jenny’s is the youngest of four and she owns it. being the baby of the family, she got pretty much whatever she wanted growing up. her dad works long hours as the hospital and her mom just didn’t seem to care outside of making sure her daughter looked good, so she was able to buy friends and popularity fairly easily throughout middle and high school.
growing up with a mostly absentee father and a mom who was exhausted and relied a little too heavily on her wine meant that jenny was free to do pretty much whatever she wanted. as a kid, she played almost every sport imaginable, but ultimately settled on a love of cheerleading because her siblings played sports and she liked cheering for them and tumbling...and, as she got older, because it opened the door to popularity. because jenny doesn’t get a ton of validation at home, she seeks it out elsewhere: from teachers, friends, and boys, mostly even though she doesn’t even like them very much.
she’s known she likes girls since she was ten. when her friends were losing their minds over tom cruise, she was obsessing over the likes of molly ringwald. when her friends were drooling over han solo, she was falling for princess leia. it’s not something she’s exactly dealt with. she’s hooked up with a few of her friends, teammates, and high school classmates since then. it’s not because she’s worried about what her parents think. they probably wouldn’t care either way...but it would  probably fuck up her reputation. it’s hawkins, indiana in the 1980s. freaks are ostracized. she knows because she was doing the ostracizing. and popularity is important to her so...she figures she’ll just wait until she leaves for college to figure that shit out. it’s not important anyway.
the first girl jenny ever kissed was taken by the mindflayer in 1985. when she started acting weird and standoffish, jenny took it as a...sign. that maybe she shouldn’t be doing that. (and that maybe she was worse at reading people than she thought.)
this still weighs on jenny a bit. the girl wasn’t just a random classmate. it was one of jenny’s best friends, cheer teammates, somebody who jenny trusted until she didn’t. it was puppy love, they were just kids but...you never forget your first, you know? and that girl’s just...gone. she’s kind of paranoid of getting too close to anybody ever again.
since she was a little girl, she’s always dreamed of the white picket fence, 2.5 kids, and a doting husband so she can keep doing the stuff she likes to do. the only problem is...she’s not sure she wants a husband if they’re not just like her dad: never present and leaving her alone. but it’s still a dream -one her mother is obsessed with- so...that’s the plan, after college.
but while she’s in college? she’s ready to mess around and figure some stuff out. marriages were never supposed to be about love anyway, right?
unbeknownst to jenny, her dad’s about to lose his license for giving out pain pill prescriptions without cause. he’s going to lose his job, probably flee town, and leave her mom to pick up the pieces...and with no access to the bank account dr. hayes is the sole proprietor of.
because of this, her partial cheer scholarship? not going to cut it. she’s gonna be stuck at HCC for the foreseeable future, much to her chagrin.
Plots n stuff
bring me ALLL the flings. i want guys she’s hooked up with to try and convince herself she’s not gay. i want all the girls she hooked up with while drunk at parties or just because she wanted to. bring me a girl she’s actually very much in love with but has convinced herself she can’t be. i want it all.
her friends are probably mostly the popular crew of the party’s time at hawkins high. she’s a cheerleader. she runs with the jocks. she probably knows some of the kids who’d have been juniors or seniors when they were freshman, too. (but she also really, really respects erica sinclair’s bite, so they’re fairly close, too.)
a beard would be fun. maybe a mutual beard, depending on the guy? idk. talk to me!
she and the party, uh, aren’t really on the same page. she was probably outright rude to most of them in middle school and pretended they didn’t exist during high school (except for you, max mayfield. you, she remembers.)
she also had a feeling about will byers. gaydar is a thing! i think part of her reaction to his death was because...she could see herself in his place if she let herself exist like she wants to once she leaves hawkins. oops.
she does have older siblings! i’m not sure if she’s particularly close to them or if they’re relevant in her life but if you wanted to pick one up we can chat and flesh it out for sureee.
she’s completely oblivious to any and all supernatural happenings in hawkins and will probably remain that way. like you could tell her her not-girlfriend was taken by the mindflayer and she’d roll her eyes at you and ask if you were high. she simply does not really care about All of That stuff. (here for a good time, not a long time.)

Special Events on the Water: Celebrations and Gatherings with Water Taxis
The wonderful coasts and lovely waterways of Australia create the setting for extraordinary festivities and gatherings. Consider the charm and elegance of including water taxis in your plans when it comes to arranging unique events that leave a lasting impression. In this blog post, we’ll look at how water taxis may transform your special events into unique and memorable experiences against the stunning background of Australia’s seas. Whitsundays Boat Trips
Romantic Waterfront Proposals
A waterfront proposal aboard a water taxi can create an unforgettable moment for those looking for a romantic location to pop the question. Imagine surprising your significant other with a private water taxi ride down Sydney Harbour or drifting through the tranquil waterways of Pittwater. The breathtaking scenery, mixed with the intimacy of a water taxi, provides the ideal setting for a proposal to be remembered for a lifetime.
Intimate Wedding Transfers
By including water taxis in your transportation plans, you can escape the commonplace and create a magnificent entry or leave on your wedding day. Water taxis provide a sense of elegance and individuality to your big day, whether you’re arriving at the waterside, which is a wedding, or departing from the reception. Make lasting memories with your guests as you enjoy a picturesque cruise filled with breathtaking sights and the soft lull of the ocean.
Milestone Anniversaries and Renewal of Vows
Celebrate your ongoing affection and commitment with a water taxi anniversary or vow renewal ceremony. Choose a sentimental path or visit a new waterfront site with your loved one. A water taxi’s small and private environment sets the stage for an emotional celebration, allowing you to reminisce about cherished memories and create new ones against the backdrop of Australia’s magnificent seas.
Corporate Retreats and Team-Building Cruises
Incorporate water taxis into your business getaways and team-building activities to take your corporate events to the next level. Whether you’re holding a strategy session, a product launch, or a team-building workshop, the relaxing and distraction-free environment of a water taxi provides a one-of-a-kind setting for fruitful discussions and collaborative brainstorming. Encourage teamwork while taking in the scenic beauty of Australia’s coasts.
Birthday Parties with a Nautical Twist
Arrange a water taxi party to add a nautical flavor to your birthday celebration. Enjoy the festivities against the gorgeous backdrop of the ocean or harbour as you cruise down the coast with friends and family. Many water taxi services allow you to customize your experience by bringing your decorations, refreshments, and entertainment on board for a one-of-a-kind birthday celebration. Water taxi Gosford
Fireworks and Festivals
Enjoy the thrill of fireworks and festivals from the best seat in the house: a water taxi. Many cities in Australia have spectacular fireworks displays, and viewing them from the water adds a level of sophistication and elegance to the experience. Gather your friends and family for a front-row seat to the activities while relaxing in the elegance and style of a water taxi.
Following that, water taxis offer a one-of-a-kind and exquisite approach to upscale special events and festivities in Australia. The allure of the water lends an extra layer of magic to every occasion, whether it’s a romantic proposal, a milestone anniversary, a corporate retreat, or a lively birthday celebration. Consider the temptation of partying on the water, and let water taxis be the key to unlocking unforgettable experiences against Australia’s amazing coastal beauty.

End of year meme! Check out last year's version here!
1. Song of the year?
Måneskin - Honey! (Are U Coming?), although Fifteen's theme from Doctor Who has grasped me over the last few days. More music-specific stuff here!
2. Album of the year?
Strictly speaking the only full album I heard was Måneskin - Rush, and that had… some issues even though I love most of it, haha.
3. Favourite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?
Can we count the BG3 soundtrack as a new artist?
4. Movie of the year?
I rewatched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory last night and that was... it, so that, I guess!
5. TV show of the year?
I still haven't recovered from Good Omens season 2.
6. Episode of TV or webisode that defined the year for you?
Episode 2.06 of Good Omens, Doctor Who - all four specials.
7. Favourite actor of the year?
Honestly it's gotta be David Tennant. Like, between Good Omens and Doctor Who? Yeah. Neil Newbon comes in a very close second, though!
8. Game of the year?
It's a. It's actually a tie which is goddamn unheard of in a Zelda release year, but Baldur's Gate 3 genuinely nearly kicked Tears of the Kingdom aside??
9. Best month for you this year?
Oh man tricky. Do I say October because I went on my first actual proper holiday in eight and a half years? November for the Maneskin concert? Or do they lose points because I had COVID in late Oct/early Nov? Let's skip both and go with June (Vivid down in Sydney and the single greatest sorbet I've ever tried, a super fun VtM tabletop session, and got Operation YEETerus more or less confirmed)!
10. Something that made you cry this year?
Cried pretty much the whole way through the end of Tears of the Kingdom, does that count?
11. Something you want to do again next year?
Ooh I'd love to go back down to Sydney for Vivid!
12. Talk about a new friend you made this year
Shrug emoji. You're all cool.
13. How was your birthday this year?
Super chill. Ordered pizza and ate ice cream, and a few days earlier when my brother came up, we went to one of our favourite Lebanese restaurants.
14. Favourite book you read this year?
A top three - Hell Followed With Us, Space Opera, and Camp Damascus! You can check my book-specific stuff here!
15. What's a bad habit you picked up this year?
Not sure I picked any up? Still haven't ditched the finger-chewing, alas.
16. Post a picture from the beginning of the year
Tumblr media
A haul from Sydney in January. Hell Followed With Us and Legends and Lattes were bought new, as were most of the CDs. The other three books and the Sigur Ros CD were second-hand.
17. Post a picture from the end of the year
Tumblr media
Okay so on the cruise (late October, I'm gonna say it counts) each floor on the stairwell nearest our cabin had these like, sailing/ships/cruising-type collages, right? Golden Age of Sail, 50s cruising, all that stuff. Which is fine! Great! Except one of them was this!
For the love of god, why would you think an image of the Titanic sinking would be appropriate for a cruise ship?!
18. A memorable meal this year?
The hazelnut sorbet of the gods. Listen. Sydneysiders, listen, if Rivareno Gelato is doing the hazelnut that week you have to try it.
19. What're you excited about for next year?
Australian Literature Festival at Sea! Not until December, but it should be fun as hell!
20. What's something you learned this year?
I did a course on how to make an author site! I should. Do that.
21. What's something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?
We started fixing up the old, kinda leaking upstairs bathroom! Gonna be moving back upstairs once it's done!
22. Favourite place you visited this year?
Eden in southern NSW, and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Hobart <3 Both on the cruise. Eden was absolutely gorgeous and Bonorong had critters.
23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?
You're gonna get COVID on the cruise. Yes, even wearing your mask and sanitising every five seconds. Bring decongestants because you'll also pick up sinusitis at the same time.
24. Did you keep any New Year's Resolutions?
Didn't make any :D
25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one
Probably the two main ones are my first two BG3 characters? A custom Tav, Ta'varin 'Tae' Arkenval, and my beloved Durge baby, Tavias. I'm probably most attached to Tavias, he is going through The Horrors while being the pureblooded child of the God of Murder and also just trying to be a nice person. Wish him luck as I enter act 3!

TREINTA
Have you ever noticed that you stopped counting your age or don't seem to care how old you are after turning 30?
I remember being grateful when I turned 25. I even wrote a blog post about it here. And now that I turned 30-plus years old last month, I feel so old knowing I won't be younger anymore!!
So, instead of celebrating it subtly, I went all out. I celebrated my birthday for two days in a row! Nick and I spontaneously went on a night cruise to celebrate Diwali with his other friends. This is something we did not plan ahead. But because I am still in the denial stage that I am turning a year older, I didn't tell anyone it was my birthday at midnight, but I drank Coca-Cola whiskey to celebrate.

...And here's me up there- drinking whiskey - everybody thinks drinking, and cheers-ing is to celebrate Diwali; meanwhile, I have been doing it for both - celebrating Diwali + protesting by getting a year older!
We had fun on the cruise - seeing one drunk guy trying to flirt with the lady by dancing around her (too bad - the lady seemed uninterested in him!) We had some dinner, ordered more drinks, and watched the water sea as the cruise ship sailed slowly, appreciating the cool breeze pressing into our skin, cherishing the moment as if we had first seen or experienced the Sydney Darling Harbour again.
I enjoyed the cruise to the point that I did not even remember that it was my birthday that midnight - I can't blame myself for not remembering my birthday that moment because I am too drunk to remember it anyway. Lol
We got off the cruise ship at 11.30pm, and a few seconds before midnight struck - Nick's friends let me watch the digital clock near the wharf. They want me to stare at it. They keep on saying, "Look! Look!" I did not understand why they allowed me to watch the digital clock - I was too slow to understand. They hugged me and greeted me with a happy birthday - and that is when I realised, "oh, it was 12 midnight and it was my birthday!" Haha, They took some photos of me and Nick. It was such a fun moment.

Lunch at Botanic House Restaurant
The next day, Nick and I celebrated my birthday by having lunch at the Botanic House by Luke Nguyen. The 8-course Deluxe Lunch tasting menu costs $105 per person. There was plenty of food, and I was already full by the time we reached the 6th course. In Nick's case, given his stomach's ability to eat a lot, he still wants more. He started feeling full right after finishing the last course on the menu, which was good, and he stated that the food was delicious and can't find any fault.
We had a bottle of wine, which is part of the dining course, coffee, tea, and a house cocktail (We chose Botanic Spritz - very refreshing and perfect for summer) served to us.
All the shared snacks, entrees, main dishes, and desserts were served two at a time on the menu. The portion size of each food item was decent enough to fill us up. Apart from the dessert we ordered, they also gave us a complimentary Happy Birthday dessert, which was a lovely gesture.

High Afternoon Tea - Blu Bar 36 Shangri-la Hotel Sydney
After a week - I celebrated my birthday with my best friend, Kate. We went to a fancy high tea on the Level 36 floor Blu Bar - Shangri-la Hotel Sydney. We went there on a Saturday weekend, and it's on window seating, which costs $140 per person. It was expensive, knowing it is in a high-end hotel, but we came there for the experience, and besides, I chose the venue, and I have an excuse to spend a little above the average because it's my birthday (always blaming the occasion!). Despite its cost, the service is beyond expectation, and the varieties of bite-sized snacks and desserts are all delicious. But we still preferred the afternoon high tea in Aperture -Capella Hotel Sydney. It's not because of the taste or flavour. Don't get me wrong, the high tea in Shangri-la Hotel is all delicious and highly curated, and the plating is all intentional and looks like it was prepared by the chef with passion, but we couldn't eat some of it…They have crunchy and raw seafood snacks being served to us. Kate couldn't eat raw fish or seafood, and because I had my braces on, I couldn't chew well, and biting crunchy snacks was hard. Despite all these, we still enjoyed some of the high tea snacks, each other's company, our long-overdue catch-up stories, and the beautiful, magnificent Sydney harbour view - and for me, that is all that matters.

As I reflect on this, I realise that I have so much to be grateful for. Instead of feeling down about getting a year older, I choose to focus on all the achievements in my life so far. Being an Australian citizen and resident, a successful registered nurse with a stable full-time job, and having supportive friends and family are just a few things on my list. And let's not forget Nick, my wonderful partner in life.
With each passing year... I get a chance to learn and grow personally and professionally. I have gained wisdom and learnings that I did not know I would need it not until I experienced it.
This is also another chance to set new goals and aspirations for the coming year: more travel, exploring countries I haven't visited before and learn from different people and culture, and of course, building our own family and home!

There are so many reasons to feel blessed and grateful, and I am excited to see what new opportunities and experiences the coming year will bring! :) Cheers to the new venture!
