999 Week 2024 announcement/info!
What is 999 Week? Well, for a “week” in September, the Zero Escape fandom comes together to celebrate the first game in the series, 999! Want to participate? Simply create and upload any kind of fanwork (fanfiction, fanmixes, fanart, cosplay pics, etc.) for a character from 999 on a specific date! You don’t have to do all the characters, of course; any that you can is appreciated.
Each character gets a specific day in September, corresponding to their bracelet numbers! So they’d be as follows: Ace (9/1), Snake (9/2), Santa (9/3), Clover (9/4), Junpei (9/5), June (9/6), Seven (9/7), Lotus (9/8), and 9th Man (9/9).
September 10th is reserved for any extra characters (“Zero,” Nijisaki, Musashidou, Nona, Funyarinpa, Science Boy, etc.). We can’t leave these guys out! Also, here are some guidelines:
If you are late on any day, feel free to upload it the day(s) after!
Feel free to just make content for as many or as few characters as you like! Any and all posts will be reblogged and appreciated!
Tag everything as #999 week so everyone can track the tag! Also: make sure you tag spoilers! (#999 spoilers should do!)
I’ll be reblogging every work I see on the tag to this blog (@999week), so if you want to see a collective of everything, follow us here!
Any kind of support, or even a signal boost, is appreciated! This started back in 2012, so we’ve been going for quite some time. We love and appreciate all the fans and their hard work to celebrate the games!
As always, we hope everyone has a great time this year!

I played 999 recently at @xivu-arath's recommendation, and I had so much fun that (inspired by that one polygon video) I illustrated my liveblog about it!
If you haven't played 999 and you are even a little bit intrigued by a puzzle/mystery visual novel with multiple timelines that all guide you towards wild plot twists...probably don't read the text! 999 is the kind of story that is best experienced with no knowledge besides the basic premise.
Transcript below the cut:
Cormorant: characters in this game really just say shit like "have you heard the story about the crystallization of glycerin?"
as a matter of fact i haven't, june, please enlighten me
Storm: "I know we're stuck in a freezer but. let's talk about weird mythical science!"
Cormorant: it's also killing me that junpei is dressed like marty mcfly and isn't sharing any of his jackets
-----
Cormorant: this game is leading me to arrive at mathematical concepts on my own. what the heck
Storm: kshgushhsg
I take it you're having a good time then
Cormorant: trying to check lotus's work and it turns out that no matter what group i arrange to take through a door, the people left behind will always have the same digital root
so to get through door 7 with snake missing, i could either send a group with sum 16 (junpei, ace, clover, and june) or with sum 25 (clover, june, seven, and lotus), but it doesn't matter because the remainder always have root 9 and can't get through doors 3 or 8! wild!
Storm: yeah the numbers and which doors end up barred to you is so cleverly deliberate
-----
Cormorant: i'm glad i finally checked what novel mode meant, because this is way more fun
Santa cocked his head to one side, like an inquisitive bird, and looked at them.
After several long moments, during which it became apparent that Santa had no idea what the cards meant, June took pity on him.
i'll have to go back and redo the beginning after i get to the first ending
Storm: oh yeah! as I recall that was done differently when it was originally a dual screen game... but it's much better when in novel style. gimme all the descriptions
-----
Cormorant: I had a long day of sitting though presentations and so I entertained myself by calculating digital roots
I discovered that adding 9 or any multiple of 9 to a number has no effect on the digital root, which is awfully interesting bc I got to the part where snake gets killed. Assuming door 3 was opened with 12 and not 21, the options are 7+3 (motive?), 6+4 (they’d both have to be REALLY good actors), or 9+1. And if bracelets work without a body attached, and if ace picked it up in door 5…
That would be a really useful tool to get around the 3-person minimum without altering the digital root
I’m also very intrigued by the theory that zero is also in the game but I don’t know what to do with that yet
Storm: forlornly having to keep myself from saying literally anything
Cormorant: Understandable, please don’t give me any hints! I’m just calling shots for the joy of being wrong
-----
Cormorant: and how do you know that, my traitorous friend?
Santa: “The RED doesn’t need a person, you know.”
Santa: “All I need is the bracelet.”
-----
Cormorant: y’know what i think he’s bluffing. he does need June specifically and that’s why he refused to consider leaving her when they first found door 9. if all he needed was a hostage, he could have grabbed junpei and forced ace to come along, and then he would be dealing with two people under duress instead of three
i peeked at a guide and apparently i found the ending adjacent to the true ending(?) first, oh well. time to see the others!
santa: i said i don't want to leave seven alone
me: bud you can't do a heroic sacrifice too, it'll mess up all the math
reader, he was not doing a heroic sacrifice
-----
Storm: got any character opinions or theories to share so far?
Cormorant: hmm I’ve got soft spots for santa and lotus maybe just because they were in the first group I went with. I like that the game makes a point of showing that lotus is quick with the math/technical knowledge. I warmed up to clover and seven more than I expected to! I have no evidence to mistrust ace….but I don’t trust him
Snake died before I before I could say two words to him
Or…didn’t. Forgot clover said he didn’t
I got info about the previous experiments from clover and I wonder if we’re like…reenacting the past somehow? Experiencing morphogenetic resonance with the last voyage?
Again no evidence i just wonder where the pseudoscience is going
Storm: santa was so my type as soon as I started playing that I just picked all rooms with him on my first run skugrhsghu
Cormorant: AHAHA that makes me feel better about going “yeahhh door 4 I like the cut of this guy’s jib”
-----
Cormorant: “the bracelet comes off when your heart rate reaches zero” interesting then that we’ve brought up cryostasis
-----
Cormorant: i simply don't trust him not to have a spare bracelet in his pocket!!!
They climbed into the elevator and Junpei listened to it creak and rattle its way to the bottom deck. Only Junpei, Ace, and Lotus were left.
As the elevator rumbled out of sight, Ace spoke.
Ace: “Lotus, would you be so kind as to go with me?”
Cormorant: “bad end” YEAH I’LL SAY
Storm: lkksghr yeah there's a few of those!
Cormorant: santa was really quick to declare that he, june, and seven needed to go with clover. waht's his game
june and ace could have done it just as easily
Storm: they could have! good catch
maybe he just thinks seven is cooler than ace,
Cormorant: i'm imagining clover taking all her grisly trophies to the door only to find it already engaged, because lotus needed no persuading,
and regarding the true ending requirements, it's also funny that santa's like "i hate this bookmark! get it out of my sight!" and this is a huge help in junpei befriending the girl who's otherwise about to snap
Storm: load bearing bookmark
Cormorant: good thing you threw that tantrum bud or you would have been killed with an axe
-----
Cormorant: in my suspicions i forgot a critical detail, which is that he didn't actually go into the door with the body this time
of course seven has been propping doors open, so it really could have been anybody
-----
Cormorant: "where have these 16 boys and girls disappeared to?" eight for each game and then an experimenter? again with the idea that zero might be in the game...
-----
Cormorant: bad endings complete! on to the normal ending, which hopefully has less of junpei getting stabbed to death
puzzling over who could have done all those murders, especially in the sub ending...or did everyone get killed? clover thinks that snake's death was faked. or did snake do all the murders, since he was the only one unaccounted for?...and then i remember what kind of game i'm playing. can't discount the ice mummy as a suspect.
Storm: you truly cannot ignore the possibility of the ice mummy
-----
Cormorant: ah no, so santa's sister was the kid that died...
i can't figure out the connection between events! why did the last games have the veneer of a science experiment, while this one has no context given? why was it all kids last time, and a random mix of ages this time, with some repeat subjects?
-----
Cormorant: called it!!!!
Junpei: “Ace, Guy X, and the 9th Man’s bracelet.”
Junpei: “That was all you needed to open door [3].”
Cormorant: called it before i even got to an ending ehehe
what i’ve been saying!!
Ace: “(9) is a potent ally in the Nonary Game.”
Ace: “Adding (9) to any set of numbers won’t alter the digital root.”
Ace: “As you can see, (9) is a very useful number here.”
Ace: “With it, one can go anywhere, with anyone.”
Ace: “It is, I suppose you could say, a game changer.”
-----
Cormorant: okay, normal ending finished! junpei did not get stabbed but we also didn’t resolve much…I’m now thinking that ace with his pocket drugs could have easily played dead in the sub ending
glad to see that snake is okay and hopefully can stay okay in the true ending. where did clover get that riddle, and will she still have it?
0=6. how much do I read into this
still don’t understand how we get from here to santa hostage situation. he’s been so consistent about not even considering betraying or abandoning people, so either he’s a better actor than ace…or it’s staged. are he and june in cahoots
Storm: augh so close now!! soon I can actually say things
-----
Cormorant: O FUCK
Seven: “Santa’s always in the room with her. That’s what you’re saying, isn’t it?”
Snake: “Yes, that’s right.”
Clover: “What about it…?”
Snake: “That’s quite simple, really.”
Snake: “You told me that the first time you came to this room…”
Snake: “…Santa was the first to refuse to leave June behind.”
Snake: “Now, doesn’t that beg the question “why?” Why would Santa do such a thing?”
Snake: “The answer is easy.”
Storm: B)
Cormorant: i've been thinking of them as a pair because it makes the math easier! if you've got 3 + 6 + 8, just cross out the ones that make 9 and don't even bother with the addition, your root is 8
Storm: B) B) B)
Cormorant: but god!! they are a pair, do not separate (or the jig is up)
Storm: they hid it soooo well
-----
Cormorant: was wondering when we would see the last cradle guy and oh duh, he was guy X
i did think it was odd that santa phrased it as "i need to leave two of you behind" rather than "i need three of you to come with me," but if he was responsible for everything (most things?), he knew that snake was there, and he was setting up a group that could follow him. excited to see where this is going!
[dreamy sigh] this game is so elegant. what a little puzzle box
Storm: yeah it is, it's just so wonderfully crafted. so little is wasted!
-----
Cormorant: oh boy [akane vision label]
"through the morphic fieldset we were resonant, and we were as one" i don't think i've mentioned it before but i'm constantly pleasantly surprised by the narration in this game. it's not flashy but it's evocative in a way that's really working for me
Storm: this is where the port falls short a bit of the original version... the ds really worked well with this aspect
-----
Cormorant: the number of times i thought "this will be totally wrong but i'll say it to storm anyway"
hello??? [arrow pointing back to the message “I wonder if we’re like…reenacting the past somehow? Experiencing morphogenetic resonance with the last voyage?”]
Storm: Y E A H
Cormorant: laser-guided spitballing
-----
Cormorant: man i said that 4+6 would have to be really good actors if they were the ones that opened door 3...and while they didn't kill snake, i sure underestimated our queen of the stage akane kurashiki
the baseline was NOT where i thought it was
Storm: no one does it like her

Love for Love's Sake | Messages you didn't notice #4-5
Compiling whole posts about each episode takes more time but since we're getting finale tomorrow(?) and I didn't notice any other details that weren't explained in Ep 5, I decided to just quickly translate messages that Myungha shows on his phone up until Episode 5 (from Unknown number and also chatting with Yeowoon) ^^
// Previous messages translation + other language moments here //
Tumblr media
(Yeowoon in his tsundere era) [YW: Don't come to see me (at race)] [MH: Oh? Then I can come to see you at your practice?] [Let me know what time is your competition~] [Yeowoon-ah, u busy?] [Have you eaten?] [File sent: Image (1)] [File sent: Image (2)] (what did he sent?! we never knew!) (Yeowoon keeps not responding) [Yewoon-ah, listen...] [I have an urgent situation!!!!] (MH rewrote it and sent without !!!) [Yewoon-ah why are you not answering me] [Yewoon-ah it's an emergency] [it's a crisis;;;] [it's a national crisis!!!]
Myungha used like 4 different words for 'emergency', boy was so desperate to keep in touch with his bias xD (These are messages from ep 3-4)
Then there was a "see you later, it takes 1 hour to get to the island" and "i went to the orientation with coach, see you tomorrow", to which Myungha responded with "ah, okay, got it, be safe and see you tomorrow" =)
Tumblr media
The messages from an unknown number (see previous posts, link above, for the first message)
[Are you getting along with your friends? If you fight, Santa won't bring you any gifts] [I broke a vase that was a gift from you. Can it be repaired?] [In May, there is Children's Day, Parents' Day, there is even Teacher's Day but there is no Day when I can meet you] [I was passing by and saw a bracelet that you used to wear long time ago. It reminded me of you. I wonder if you still wear that bracelet.] [I broke a vase that was a gift from you. Can it be repaired?] (second time)
And here I revoke my theory that these are messages from the Author sunbae, the first texts felt like comments but then they feel more like someone's longing thoughts. Hmmm! What are they? Anyone?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But also the translation in the episode confuses me because the 'why do you dress like that?' is shown when there is a 'bracelet' message, but I can't understand how it can be translated this differently.
Myungha keeps thinking these are messages that are sent by mistake, and I can definitely understand why. I'm dying to know the meaning (but I loved the Santa message lol)

I know the game never bothers to say that it's wrong, but I choose to believe that the whole scene where Snake posits that June has the 9 bracelet and Santa has the 0 bracelet is just him doing some crazy theorycrafting and that they really did have the 6 and 3 bracelets the whole time. Especially given that the entire conceit of his theory is that "no two people can have the same number bracelet" but never addressed why there would then be two 9 bracelets. And especially given that the "Santa is Zero" conclusion this leads them to is wrong. And again, I highly doubt this was the game's intention - they probably wanted us to take the whole thing at face value - but I really like this interpretation because of how it characterizes Snake as overly confident in his own intelligence, but so convincing in said confidence that no one feels comfortable questioning him when he's obviously wrong.
Conclusion: Light is a pretentious jerk and I love him for that.

Hi there! Just thought I’d point out the neat detail you may have not intended in your art of ZE Santa where he’s got his hand up doing the 👌 sign for his bracelet number [3] but in ASL, that’s a [9], baby! Haha get it? 9 as in 999? As in [redacted]? I thought that was cool and figured I’d let you know about it.
Waugh that's really cool thank you for telling me!! Wasnt intentional when i drew it but that is a very fun and clever coincidence ^_^

Sleepless, Stormy Bracelets
Synopsis: you decide to go bother the boys, finding them very sleepy, hyper, and fixated on bracelet making.
Warnings: cuss words, mention of a b!ohazard symbol
Word count: 1,018
♤♡◇♧♤♡◇♧♤♡◇♧♤♡◇♧♤♡◇
HI BEANS!! This is a short little fic-let I came up with about four goofy little vampire boys who definitely still reside in the Cave in Santa Carla :3
I had so much fun writing this, and it made me even happier knowing that I was writing for a new friend (@checkitoutmikey , here u go!)! Also, big shout-out to @fandoms-are-my-friends-1321 for proof reading and to my sib for hyping up my random bits of dialogue I am absolutely head over heels for.
Please bear with me, formatting wise. I have never done this before and I am.. very sleepy. Also, please give credit where credit is due!🥲
Enjoy!
**********************************************
Dreary. Gloomy. Overcast. Drizzly. Any word along this vein would work, but it was not yet storming.
The day had crawled by. By 7 p.m., you couldn't stand it any longer, taking your bike out to the Cave to bother your boys a bit earlier than usual. It was still drizzling. The water on your face was a welcome change to the sweltering sun that usually enveloped Santa Carla. Dodging squirrels and asshole drivers, you made it to the cave, parking and ducking inside.
"Peaches!" Paul tackle-hugged you the minute your feet hit the floor.
"Hi, Pauly." You laughed. "Couldn't sleep?" He shook his head, still squishing the daylights out of you.
"I can never sleep when it's stormin'," he planted a giant kiss on your temple before wandering off to do who knows what.
"Hey, sweetheart." Marko called from his cozy position on the couch. It was easy to see that he was still very tired. You plopped down next to his legs, jostling the smaller vampire.
"Still sleepy?" You cocked your head. He nodded.
"Paul wakes us all up when he's hyper as shit—which just so happened to be at 3 in the afternoon." Marko yawned. "Just another hour would be fantastic."
"I'll see what I can do." You tossed a blanket over the dozing boy, finding Paul looking through an assortment of beads he very clearly pilfered.
"Check it out!" He beamed. "There's a bunch of really sick charms, too!" You looked at the amalgamation of plastic charms; dinosaurs, fruits, hearts, cards, numbers, and more.
"Have you made bracelets before?" You asked. The blond looked offended.
"Duh!" He rolled his eyes before adding sheepishly, "It's just been a while."
"Let's go set up in my corner. We'll make everyone a bracelet." Slight relief washed over you as he took the bait. Did he know you were trying to keep him semi-quiet so the others could sleep? Yes. Yes, he did. Did he care? Not a bit—not as long as he was with you.
It was 9:30 by the time the others 'rolled out of bed.' Yawning and rubbing the sleep from their eyes, the three made their way over to where you and Paul sat surrounded by an arsenal of multi-colored beads and string.
"Thanks for letting us sleep, darling." David pressed a kiss to the top of your head in greeting. You smiled.
"Not a problem." You grabbed your finished gifts. "Lookit—Paul and I made bracelets."
"We can see that." Marko grinned, still waking up. You smacked his arm, laughing.
"What do they look like?" Dwayne asked. You gave them all their respective bracelets, heart warming as their faces lit up.
"Sick! Thanks!" Marko immediately slid his on. The multi-colored beads matched his jacket, no rhyme or reason to the colors—simply put, it looked cool.
"We did all black for you, David. The charm was a last minute decision." Paul said. David smirked at the black and white biohazard symbol, chuckling. The sound sent a small chill up your spine.
"Is this glitter?" He finally asked.
"Shit, I tried not to grab ones with-"
"It's fine." David slid it on, just above his other bracelets, a silent thanks. You shared a look with Paul, both stoked that the hard-headed ring leader liked it.
"Paul, what's this little guy?" Dwayne singled out a bead.
"A rabbit. We couldn't find any jaguars. We chose the blue because it was the closest to gray."
"Then we did the greenish beads to look like grass." You added. Dwayne smiled, sliding it on and adjusting the rabbit to sit on top of his wrist.
"I dig it. Thank you," he said. Paul looked elated, having been very worried about the selection of beads for his brother.
"Paul, do you have one?" Paul showed Marko the bracelet you had made; red and light brown with a guitar charm. Marko grinned.
"What about you?" Dwayne pressed lightly. You stopped. It hadn't occurred to you to make one for yourself.
"I didn't make one." You shrugged. The four stared at you for a moment. You busied yourself with the beads, feeling like they were about to start singing 'Happy Birthday' or something.
Talk about awkward.
"It's alright, really." You insisted, standing. Paul and Marko stood with you, David helping you pick your way around all the beads.
"Why don't you go pick something to listen to?" David's syrupy voice was slick to the touch. You smiled, going off in search of Paul's rock-box and the impressive hoard of cassettes the boys had amassed.
It took 20 minutes to find the damn rock-box, and another 10 to find the box of cassettes. Why the four couldn't keep them both in roughly the same spot was beyond you, but you didn't comment, instead shuffling through the rows and rows of music.
"Hey, what'dyou think? Billy Idol or Metallica?" You called to the strangely silent group. They were still huddled in the corner, voices hushed and giggles arising from Paul and Marko. You rolled your eyes. They think they're slick, you thought, popping in Metallica and reading the inner pamphlet. The guitar scratched just the right spot in the back of your head, making you smile.
"Metallica. Good choice." Marko dropped onto the couch next to you. The other three perched in their varying spots around you, grins on their faces.
"What chaos did you commit now?" You raised a knowing eyebrow. Paul stuck his tongue out at you as David lightly grabbed your wrist, flipping your palm up and setting the bracelet in your hand.
"Your favorite colors," Dwayne smiled at the awe on your face.
"Boys, it's beautiful." You beamed. "'L B?'" David chuckled weakly.
"It's us. Our… moniker, if you will." He explained. It clicked.
"Lost Boys." The word was a breath.
"We have a piece of you to take with us everywhere," Paul showcased his bracelet for effect. "And now you have a piece of us." Tears welled up behind your eyes as you realized just how much thought went into making the bracelet.
"I'll never take it off."

Welp, I finished the Clover/Axe ending two days ago and I gotta say.... yeah, I was not surprised. But also SEE I TOLD YOU SHE WAS CRAZY WHY WOULD YOU TRUST HER JUNPEI.
Seriously though, that ending was wild. First we find the body of some old man who's posed as Zero-- which I do not believe for a second. I don't have any idea who he is but Zero is at the bottom of that list. Like, look at this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the most obviously staged Mastermind substitute I've ever seen in my life--and I'm a Danganronpa fan. This isn't Zero, but it is worth noting that there are and were other people on this ship with us that we haven't met yet. From the blood spill, I'm pretty sure he was killed there. And it probably wasn't Clover this time either, because how? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think she was even able to go through here before us. The killer in the Submarine ending was implied to be able to roam freely even without the keys needed to open the doors, so it was probably them. Or someone with that same privilege. I think. Question is, who are they and why aren't they here? And do they even have a bracelet?
Tumblr media
Ok, this is the one I've been itching to address-- the revelation that Seven and Santa killed Snake. I was kinda suspecting Seven of having something to do with this, but since was the one who brought up the idea that two or more people were responsible I brushed it off (also he really grew on me after a while and I didn't want it to be him). I never suspected Santa to be guilty of anything involving this. If I had a list of potential culprits he would be at rock bottom, THAT'S how much I trusted him. He stood up for Clover and Lotus after Junpei tricked them into fighting for who gets left behind even with death looming over their heads. He agreed to stay in the game instead of escaping in favour of not leaving June behind. Despite his attitude, it was clear he hated playing dirty. He did drop some sus bombs with Santa Claus story, but his sense of fairness quashed those immediately. Seven, maybe. Lotus, most probably. Hell, I could even buy Ace (with some strong evidence tho), even tho he's such a stand-up guy. A part of me is still very delulu about him killing Snake because of all of this. It literally never registered with me that he's the only other person that could've done this (if it was 2 people that did this). They both better have a good reason because I am UPSET.
Tumblr media
Freaking Clover, man. I don't know what happened to this girl to take the turn she did, but MAN, she really did a 180 by the end, huh? Killing Santa and Seven in supposed revenge--which, fair enough-- was not enough. She just had to take down June and Junpei too. Girl, what did we do to you? Like, if you had just killed Junpei I wouldn't have been so upset (sorry dude i swear i love you), but why JUNE? That's like killing an innocent puppy, what the heck. I know that there's something wrong with both Snake and Clover, but wow. I'm dying to find out more about them because this is... well, it's something, alright. The fact that she literally made Junpei accept her hand to escape together while he was traumatised and dazed only to whack him and leave him to slowly bleed out as she happily takes off with his bracelet was crazy tho. I hope there's a reason for why she's still going for everyone that didn't kill Snake because my man did not deserve that.
Also, damn. If I had a nickle for every time a pink/red haired girl has offered to join hands and live together at the expense of everyone else I'd have 3 nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it really is so weird it happened thrice. I'd have 2 if that same girl had the potential to end up killing me at the end.
Also, with the knowledge that Snake has a prosthetic arm and there being no mention of it as well his bracelet being cracked meaning we have no way of confirming it's number 2 almost makes me believe he's alive. Almost. I'm pretty confident he's really gone but wouldn't that be a cool twist?
Lastly, the deaths.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I could be completely off the mark but I have a theory that the other 2 endings have 2 different killers. To me, the way everyone died seemed... different. In the Submarine death, the bodies of everyone were so much more bloody than in the other Bad End. The blood splatter looks more spread out in comparison. What makes me kinda iffy about this one is that both the weapon used is supposedly a knife. It could be different people regardless, because how in the world does a knife create blood splatters worse than the literal axe in the Sub ending, but I'm not sure. We know Junpei in both endings was stabbed for sure, but we can't say the same about the others with the existance of the axe and gun. Just wanted to throw that idea out there anyway.

Hi hi I was wondering if I could request for your event for the situation prompt 5 and for suna please. I hope you have a great day ☺️ oh and sfw pls
Hello! Thank you for requesting, I hope you like this one! <3
Tumblr media
Suna Rintarou + situation #5 “Sweaters” + SFW
The holidays were always a drab. The nonstop pressure of getting all the work done before the winter break, no matter how short it may be, the last-minute holiday shopping, the persistent clients who never seem to be satisfied, and the list goes on. You’re not sure what you did to deserve this but you heave a deep sigh and apply a final coat of lipgloss before adjusting your sweater and walking out of the restroom.
Tonight was the holiday party of one of your PR company’s top clients, EJP Raijin, and as such, your entire team was required to attend. Yes, even a holiday party was deemed “work.” This wasn’t just any ordinary holiday party though, no, these grown ass professional volleyball players decided to throw an ugly sweater party.
Now on your perfectly lovely Saturday night, which you could’ve spent doing a number of other things, you were stuck wearing a hideous holiday sweater with Rudolf’s face plastered onto it, and a dangling red pompom for a nose.
“What’d I miss?” you ask one of your co-workers as you slip into the space next to her.
“Nothing important, just the typical sleazy old men trying to get young girls to go home with them, and the drunk salary boys who think they stand a chance,” she rolled her eyes, taking a sip from her champagne flute.
You sigh in acknowledgement, that’s usually how these things went anyway.
The drinks were endless and free so you decided to let loose a bit, you were just there to enjoy the party anyway.
After your fourth Bellini, cheeks red and feeling flushed, you decided to take a step back, maybe find an empty balcony to get some fresh air.
When you finally see an exit, you make a beeline for it.
Unfortunately, things never seem to go your way, you bite back a groan when you see the silhouette of another person already out there. You still go anyway, really in need of some cool, night air.
The silhouette moves away from the corner when you enter the balcony and right then and there you groan out loud in exasperation, “Oh come on!”
Standing there in all his glory, your most troublesome client, Suna Rintarou, decked in a hideous sweater to boot.
Suna raises an eyebrow at your outburst, a slight smirk tugging at his lips.
“Are you okay?” he questions cheekily, sliding right over into your personal space, but not touching you.
“I’m fine, can you leave?” you retort, not caring how rude it was.
“Why would I? I was here first,” he cements, leaning against the intricate iron railing.
You roll your eyes and mimic him childishly, “Fine, whatever, stay over there,” you mutter, turning to pull away.
You squeak when something hinders your movement, and you turn back around only to see your bracelet hooked up in his sweater. You frantically try to pull it loose, just wanting to be away from the annoying man.
“Would you stop!” Suna chastises quietly.
He grasps your hand gently and pulls you closer so he can inspect the entanglement. It takes him less than a minute, but it felt much longer to you, as he pulls and tugs on the bracelet and his sweater to ensure both things escape with minimal damage.
“Where did you even get this ugly thing?” you ask, using your free hand to grasp the edge of his sweater. It was a shade of red that you had to admit looked good on him, but the pattern of an upside-down twerking Santa Claus, and a slogan that read ‘I got Ho’s in different area codes’ really stood out. So tacky.
“Atsumu gave it to me as a Christmas present last year,” he mumbles, still concentrating on untangling you both.
“How tacky,” you whisper, still looking down at the sweater, ignoring the way your heart sped up as you inhaled his cologne and followed the outline of his broad chest and shoulders with your eyes.
You didn’t even notice that you were untangled and Suna was looking down at you quietly, observing the way your fingers played with the end of his sweater.
It wasn’t until he urges you to look up with a hand on your cheek, that you notice how close you were, and instinctively you move closer to his warmth.
“You’d think you would be used to being this close to me now,” he mutters, an amused smirk on his face.
“Shut up Rin,” you mumble, cheeks red, “We should head back in, people will notice we’re gone.”
He hums in agreement, “But first,” he pulls you in and kisses you deeply.
Just when you’re getting into it, he pulls away, leaving you pouting.
“We should tell people we’re dating soon,” he tells you, before letting you go.

999 Week returns for 2023!
If you do not like a character, simply do not create/upload anything for their day. This is a celebration of the characters, after all!
This started back in 2012, so we've been going for quite some time. We love and appreciate all the fans and their hard work to celebrate the games!
As always, we hope everyone has a great time this year!

Been rewatching a 999 lp recently, as some of you may have noticed. Now I have an AU for my OCs for it building lol. Maybe I should’ve arranged them in number order in this picture lmao. Other OCs’ll probably get roles when I rewatch VLR or ZTD. Details under the cut
From left to right ➡
Kyle gets bracelet 6, because in the original continuity he survives dying anyways. In this though he’d basically take the role of June almost exactly, down to being half of Zero.
Erin, with bracelet 3, also fills the role Santa has in 999, although instead of being siblings with Kyle like Aoi and Akane, she was a fellow participant in the original Nonary Game who was with him. The pair of them failed a puzzle that managed to get Kyle into the state of quantum deadness, and worked together to run the second Nonary Game to fix it a la the original game.
Vance has bracelet 5 and fills Junpei’s role. Putting him in the seat of the main protagonist had a little cognitive dissonance for me when I first thought of it, but in terms of characterization it actually fits rather well-- The man is self serving as hell. There are very few times that helping the group as a whole doesn’t benefit Junpei in 999, and when it doesn’t the game absolutely lets you choose the selfish option. Vance easily fills Junpei’s role with hardly a waver from his own “canon” characterization.
Lux gets Lotus’ 8 by virtue of their shared technological prowess. Since this cast are much closer in age to each other than the original 999 cast, she was probably another participant in the experiment surrounding the first Nonary Game. Depending on how precise the setup matches the original experiment in 999, she would probably be someone from the other half of it than Kyle, Erin, Vivian, and Zoe.
Vivian as 7 gets Seven’s amnesia. Instead of having been a cop, she was someone without the same morphogenetic qualities as the other subjects who wound up in the original experiment through sheer bad luck, probably in Kyle and Erin’s group. She may have gotten amnesia as a result of acquiring morphogenetic qualities? idk
Elise’s 4 and Zoe’s 2 put them in the roles of Clover and Snake, and their roles don’t really change that much from that. I don’t know why Zoe wouldn’t recognize Kyle, Erin, and Vivian in this since she isn’t blind like Snake is, but this AU is less than a day old and I’m rewatching all this after years of not really doing much with it. I’ll figure something out if I do anything more with this. Maybe I will make her blind for this. Life is an oyster. Elise and Lux do recognize each other but don’t talk to the other participants about it because that would mean explaining things to any of them.
Terrance gets the 1 bracelet, despite having very little in common with its holder from the game. (To be honest, if I hadn’t given him Junpei’s role, Vance would’ve taken this spot in a heartbeat, the decision process of which could easily turn into a character analysis essay for Junpei and Hongou.) I like Terrance enough that I’m hesitant to make him a straight-up bad guy, but I’m also intrigued by what could motivate him to be so. I’ll have to think about that more.
Kathleen’s in a similar position to Terrance with the 9 bracelet, but like Kyle she actually gets her number because of thematic carry-over from their original setting; she has a great power that she isn’t able to use. I’m not sure if she would keep the same fate as the original #9 or if I’d carry the theme through in another way. Again, something to think about.
On a basic level the sequence of events would be very similar to 999. If I do more with this I’ll figure out a more concrete and discrete sequence of events.

HUGE Spoilers for Zero Escape: 999
The 3, 7, and 8 doors dilemma:
I have no idea whether or not someone has made a post like this already, but it piqued my curiousity so I’m making it anyway.
One thing I was always confused about is that, if Zero had planned for Ace to stay behind and ensure Ace kills Nijisaki, why had Zero put Ace’s sacrifice to chance?
Put simply: She didn’t. Akane ensured that Ace would be the one to stay behind, and here’s how:
Below is a series of mathematical equations, each calculating the possible digital roots of the characters when they separate into two teams of three and exclude one person. All of these equations assume that Santa’s bracelet number is actually 3 and June’s is actually 6, considering the fact that none of the other characters would know about their numbers being different and wouldn’t take it into account. All of them include at least one trio that can go through door numbers 3, 7, or 8. The ones underlined are ones in which both pairs work out and go through one of each of the aforementioned numbered doors. The ones in bold successfully pair Santa and June together, preventing them from revealing their real bracelet numbers. And finally, the ones in italics are the ones that are actually the two options Junpei gets to choose from.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Excluding Lotus or Seven is impossible, as no combination can be made to get the remaining people through the numbered doors.
Tumblr media
Excluding June does leave three possible combinations, however because June is close to Junpei, he would most likely refuse to leave her behind. Santa would refuse as well, because it would mean his bracelet number would get revealed.
Excluding Junpei leaves three possible combinations, one of them pairs Santa and June together, which prevents their numbers from being exposed. However, I’m fairly certain June would protest about leaving Junpei behind.
(I’m assuming Ace realised that him, Junpei, and June were the only ones that worked, which is why he suggested that Junpei or June stay behind after Junpei protests)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Excluding Clover or Santa yields no possible combinations for the remaining players either.
Tumblr media
And finally, the exclusion of Ace reveals the three combinations Santa suggested, in which two of them pair himself with June, protecting their identities.
So what does this mean? This means one very important thing. Snake’s kidnapping was purely to manipulate Ace. Snake’s disappearance plus the specific numbered doors present ensured that Ace would “volunteer” to stay behind.

A friend of mine is playing 999 (yay) and he doesn't like Lotus and is avoiding her, and I think it's hilarious because you can't finish the game without going with her through one door.
That's when I thought that, in order to finish the game, you have to go with Lotus and Seven once, but not with both twice or at the same time (door 2 and the submarine ending :c ). Also when you go with either of them through a door, on the second choice of doors, that door will correspond to their bracelet number.
In order to make the two main routes that enable you to finish the game, you never go with them on the third choice of doors, because that's where you end up going with both at the same time (although you get some nice info on Lotus).
For the safe ending you go with Seven and Snake through door 5, with Lotus and Clover through door 8, and with Ace, June and Santa through door 6.
For the true ending, you first go with Lotus, Santa and June, through door 4, then Seven and Clover, through door 7, and finally, Ace and Clover through door 1.
Also, if you don't go with Clover on the second choice of doors (going through door 3), you are destined to go with both Lotus and Seven afterwards, which leads you to the submarine ending.
I just thought it was interesting.
