Val Kilmer looks bright as he hosts Tamie Adaya's GLAM Art Exhibition at his HelMel studio | Daily Mail Online
He is a talented actor who rocketed to fame with Tom Cruise in Top Gun in 1986.
But few people know that Val Kilmer is also a prolific artist with his own studio.
And on Friday evening the 59-year-old hosted Tamie Adaya's GLAM Art Exhibition at his HelMel studio in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles.
Getting into art: Val Kilmer hosted Tamie Adaya's GLAM Art Exhibition at his HelMel studio in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles on Friday evening
Named for its location on the corner of Heliotrope and Melrose, the website described the GLAM series as 'love letters to a more flamboyant and celebratory period of music and fashion that Tamie feels is missing from this more austere and conservative moment.
'It draws inspiration from the Pop artists of the 1960s, the Neo Pop and conceptual language artists of the 1980s and the wildly camp, eyeliner-and-lipstick glitter style of glam musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.'
Val posed with Tamie on the red carpet in a black jacket and pants that he teamed with a brightly checked shirt in shades of red, yellow, orange and blue, with a turquoise scarf around his neck. The silver fox brushed his hair back from his face.

Tami was decked out in a black scoop-neck T-shirt and leggings with a sparkly blue, pink and green jacket, leather boots and heavy chaines around her neck and waist.
A slew of celebs and artists dropped into the event including veteran actress Britt Ekland, 77, who posed with Tamie plus Doris Tyler and journalist Argot Murelius.

Meanwhile, Val has made limited public appearances for the past few years as he underwent treatment for throat cancer. A procedure on his trachea had reduced his voice to a rasp and made him short of breath.
Despite that, the star has a busy screen career. He can next be seen in Jay And Silent Bob Reboot, due out on November 29.

And he has The Birthday Cake with Ewan McGregor; Soldier's Heart and Riptide in various stages of production.
Val will also be releasing his memoir, I'm Your Huckleberry, in April.

“Val is a 2021 American documentary film directed and produced by Leo Scott and Ting Poo. It follows the life and career of actor Val Kilmer.
It is scheduled to be released in a limited release on July 23, 2021, prior to digital streaming on Prime Video on August 6, 2021, by Amazon Studios.
PREMISE
The film follows the life and career of actor Val Kilmer, including footage of Kilmer shot by himself throughout his career, footage of his childhood, and home movies.
For over 40 years Val Kilmer, one of Hollywood's most mercurial and/or misunderstood actors has been documenting his own life and craft through film and video. He has amassed thousands of hours of footage, from 16mm home movies made with his brothers, to time spent in iconic roles for blockbuster movies like Top Gun, The Doors, Tombstone, and Batman Forever. This raw, wildly original and unflinching documentary reveals a life lived to extremes and a heart-filled, sometimes hilarious look at what it means to be an artist and a complex man.”
