For @kimannhart! I love you! I know you like Buzzfeed Unsolved, so I did a little AU inspired by that for you! :D I hope this is fine!
Tumblr media
“There’s a ghost in here, there’s a ghost in here,” Tony frantically whispers as he grabs the sleeve of Bucky’s hoodie. The lights they have strapped to their heads are bright, but they do little to calm Tony down as he can see every suspicious platter, every slight movement he perceives in the shadows. This is terrible. Absolutely terrible. He doesn’t know why he allows his boyfriend to drag him into these situations. Hell, he doesn’t even know why he’s still with his boyfriend if he’s being honest. He should’ve broken up with him the second he suggested they explore haunted places and put the videos up on YouTube.
“There’s no ghost in here, plural or otherwise,” Bucky replies. The closest thing he’s seen to a ghost so far is a rat that scurried across the floor with a slice of pizza in its mouth. This place is nowhere near a pizzeria, so he doesn’t know how the rat managed to get that, but good for them. Good for them. It made for some nice footage.
“It’s cold and there’s a ghost in here.” Tony plasters himself to Bucky’s side. “Stop filming. There’s, like, a million ghosts in here.”
Bucky slips his hand into Tony’s and gives it a comforting squeeze. “I’ll protect you from all the scary ghosts out there.” He can’t keep a smile from forming on his face or from showing in his voice. His boyfriend’s just really cute. Even when he’s scared. Especially when he’s scared, actually, because then he wants to cuddle more.
“You’re patronizing me, stop patronizing me.” Bucky moves the camera to film Tony’s pout. “No, don’t film me! Rhodey is going to make fun of me.”
“Baby, Rhodey doesn’t have to see your face to make fun of you.” That earns him a smack on the arm. For how small Tony is, he can hit damn hard.
Tumblr media
Bucky keeps his arm wrapped around Tony’s waist as they explore the upstairs of the building. They’ve heard some bangs, and those were enough to set Tony even closer to the edge than he was before. Sure, Tony is clinging onto his torso hard enough that he thinks he might end up with some bruises there, but it’s a small price to pay to keep him from bolting and potentially hurting himself because who knows what kind of shit is laying around on the ground in here. “Man, these ghosts are cowards.”
“Oh, don’t provoke them,” Tony moans. “I don’t want a soccer ball or--or a volleyball or something thrown at my head.”
“Sportballs are the worst thing you can think of to be thrown at your head?”
“Have you ever been hit in the head with a soccer ball?”
Bucky takes a moment to ponder that question. “I see where you’re coming from. They’re still cowards, though.”
“Nope.”
“Hey, ghosts! My boyfriend thinks--”
“Bucky.”
“--you guys are cowards, too!”
“Do not put words in my mouth! I don’t think you guys are cowards. In fact, stay far away from me!” Tony frowns, his next couple of footsteps coming down harder than usual. “Now you have me talking to the ghosts! I hate this.”
Bucky puts the camera down. “Do you want to leave?” he asks softly, breaking character. “If you want to, we can.”
Tony shakes his head. “It’s fine. I want to see this through.”
Bucky brings the camera back up and goes, “Cowards!”
“That doesn’t mean keep provoking them!”
Tumblr media
“I think it’d be fun,” Bucky says, gesturing to the closet they found in one of the rooms. “I stay in there for a few minutes, see if something happens.”
“You and I have very different definitions of fun.” Tony, as he usually does when Bucky suggests doing that kind of thing, sounds distressed. He’s standing a good couple of feet away from the door, while Bucky is damn near pressed up against it. “What if something happens to you?”
“Nothing’ll happen.” Bucky takes Tony’s hand a presses a kiss to his knuckles. He sets the camera down on a dusty table conveniently located nearby. “Just wait here for a moment.”
Tumblr media
Bucky screams like never before.
Tony panics, heart racing, blood draining from his face. He rushes to open the closet, but is stopped when Bucky bursts through like the goddamn Kool-Aid Man.
“There was a fucking spider!” Bucky screeches. “Big as my fucking hand! Fuck!”
“Oh my god,” Tony groans, his hands slightly shaking from leftover adrenaline. “You suck. You suck. I really thought something bad happened to you.”
“A spider crawled on my face, sweetheart, I think it’s safe to say I’m traumatized. That was worse than what any ghost could do to me,” Bucky wheezes as he doubles over, hands on his knees. He straightens up and holds his arms wide. “Hug?”
“You big baby,” Tony sniffs. He goes to hug Bucky anyway.
Tumblr media
Bucky takes a sharpie out of his backpack and grins. “We could write something on the walls.”
“That’s vandalism,” Tony points out. He accepts Bucky’s offer of the sharpie.
“Only if you get caught.” Bucky winks. “Plus, I’m pretty sure that what we’re doing right now is illegal, anyhow. Trespassing on private property?”
“Cut the entire video out.”
“Anything for you, darling.” Bucky puts down the camera and uncaps the sharpie.
Tumblr media
“Huh.” Bucky looks over Tony’s handwriting. “‘Behind you’?”
Tony beams, innocent as ever. “I thought it would be funny.” He looks at what Bucky has written. “Oh my god, you sap.”
“No,” Bucky replies. Warmth rises up his neck.
“’B and T forever’? In a heart? You’re adorable.” Tony reaches up to squish Bucky’s cheeks.
“I am manly and strong.”
“Doesn’t mean you can’t be adorable,” Tony coos. “I think even the ghosts would agree that was pretty cute.”
Tumblr media
They both freeze when they hear faint footsteps downstairs.
“Did you hear that?” Tony whispers, eyes wide. “I don’t like this.”
“Turn off your light, turn off your light,” Bucky urges as he turns his off. Tony follows suit. “That sounded like a real person.” His mind starts racing at a mile a minute. If anything happens, he supposes he could throw his backpack at the person--maybe even fight them off, give Tony a chance to get out. He can feel the blood rushing through his veins. He keeps the camera up, thankful that it has a night vision setting.
Tony’s breathing turns heavy, and that’s how Bucky knows that he’s well and truly terrified. God, but Bucky feels horrible. He was the one who suggested they come here, and now... now it seems like the situation has taken a turn for the worse.
He shuffles both Tony and himself into a room behind the stairs. “Maybe they won’t come up?” Bucky says, hopeful.
As if on cue, they hear the steps creaking.
“You jinxed it,” Tony hisses, hand clutching onto the front of Bucky’s hoodie.
Light shines as the person makes their way up. From their vantage point, Bucky can see that they’re using their phone’s flashlight. Smart. Makes it easier to find people.
Shit.
The person makes a left after reaching the top. Some of the light reflects back onto them, and... hold on. Hold on. That shirt.
“Steve?” Bucky blurts out. He brings the camera down.
Steve whips his body around and looks at them. Tony covers his eyes with the back of his hand. “Jesus Christ,” Steve breathes out. “I’ve been trying to call you guys for the past fucking hour. You guys wouldn’t pick up and I knew you guys came here. I was afraid something happened to you guys. I had to drive 30 minutes! 30 minutes! It’s 3 A.M.!”
“I thought you would be a ghost,” Tony says mournfully.
“Sorry to burst your bubble, but I’m not.” Steve presses his mouth in a thin line. “C’mon, you two are getting out of here. And we’re stopping by somewhere to eat along the way. I’m hungry.”
“What place is open at 3 A.M.?” Bucky asks incredulously.
“Denny’s,” Tony answers.
Bucky grimaces. “I would rather let a ghost throw a soccer ball at me.”
“I’ll be the one to throw a soccer ball at you if you don’t get your asses out of here,” Steve threatens, and something about his posture and tone of voice tells Bucky that it’s not an empty threat. “Let’s go. I want pancakes.”
“Can I get an omelette?” Tony ventures.
“Of course. Bucky, you can have whatever’s left over.”
“Aw, come on.”

Stay Here (Buck x Eddie)
Buddie Ficlet - 1k, Rated G.
for @trashbaget and @fearlessbuck because ily and talking to you gave me inspiration to write this 💖
Buck knew that the extra shifts Eddie had been picking up were starting to take a toll on the older man. Eddie had tried to hide it— how exhausted he was— and it might have fooled everyone else, but not Buck.
Buck knew that he should have made more of an effort to get them out of dinner at Bobby and Athena’s— steadfast ignoring the little voice in his head that asked him just why he felt like he could make excuses for the both of them— but the entire team was going and Buck didn’t want to bring attention to the fact that Eddie was almost dead on his feet.
Eddie would just deny it— did deny it— claiming he was fine, Buck seriously stop worrying so much, but Buck could see the dark circles under his best friend’s eyes, the way he seemed to have to drag his body as he walked. Buck had decided that if Eddie wasn’t going to go home and sleep, like he should, then Buck was going to do everything in his power to make him as comfortable as possible.
There was only one seat left on the couch? Eddie got it and Buck sat on the floor, awkwardly curling his long limbs with an innocent smile when Eddie looked at him with suspicion.
Eddie needed a drink? Buck was up and getting it for him before anyone else even had the chance to offer.
Christopher was sleepy after playing with Denny and Harry for so long? Buck carried him back to the truck, buckling him in and pressing a sweet kiss to his forehead.
Buck was thankful that they had chosen to drive over together— they were taking Christopher to the zoo tomorrow so it just made sense for Buck to stay the night, right?
Eddie made a move to get into the drivers seat and Buck just shook his head, guiding him gently to the other side of the car and helping him into the passenger seat. It was a testament to how tired Eddie was that he barely protested, just gave Buck an exasperated look but otherwise let him do what he wanted.
The drive back to Eddie’s house was quiet and as Buck pulled into the driveway and shut off the engine, he realized that both Diaz boys were sound asleep.
Buck shook his head fondly— see, Eddie, I told you you were tired! He slipped out of the car and jogged up to the front door, using his key to unlock it and leave it open. Making his way back to the car, he got Christopher out and into his arms without the boy waking once.
Buck got Christopher into the house and set him down on his bed, whispering that he would be right back before leaving to collect his second favourite Diaz.
Eddie gave a sleepy grumble when Buck opened his door and unbuckled his seatbelt.
“Come on, Eds,” Buck whispered. “Let’s get you to bed.”
“M’comfy,” Eddie murmured, not opening his eyes. He was clearly lying, his head was at an awkward angle and Buck knew Eddie hated sleeping in jeans, so no, he wasn’t comfortable.
Buck rolled his eyes. Well, looks like he was going to be carrying Eddie in too, much like he just did for his son.
Getting Eddie into the house was surprisingly easy— he guessed his workout routine was working. Eddie just snuggled against him, letting himself be carried, and Buck had to stop himself from swooning.
He allowed himself all of one moment to pretend like this was his life, that he actually got to have this. That he was carrying in his husband and son because they were so tired they fell asleep on the drive home. He allowed himself that one moment to hope, to pretend, before he shook himself out of it.
Buck made quick work of getting Christopher ready for bed, having helped put him to bed many times before and knowing the routine by heart. He gave him a soft kiss on the forehead as he brought the blankets up, tucking Christopher in the way he liked.
“G’night, Bucky,” Christopher mumbled, slurring most of it into his pillow.
“Goodnight, buddy,” Buck whispered back, feeling warmth bloom in his heart. He loved this little boy so much.
He turned off the light and closed the door almost all the way, leaving it open a crack so he could hear if Chris needed anything.
Buck rubbed his eyes as he walked back to Eddie’s bedroom, his own exhaustion crashing into him.
Eddie hadn’t moved much from where Buck had left him, just enough to kick off his shoes and wiggle out of his jeans before seemingly passing out into his pillow.
Buck chuckled. Eddie was adorable when he was this sleepy.
Buck plugged in Eddie’s phone, making sure to set the alarm so they wouldn’t oversleep in the morning and be late for the zoo. They would have one very grumpy boy on their hands if they did. Christopher had been talking about the zoo for weeks, ever since his class project on penguins. Buck wasn’t confident there would be penguins at the zoo they were going to tomorrow, but he was pretty sure he could distract Chris with the other animals.
Buck was lost in his thoughts, wondering if they had the ingredients for him to make pancakes in the morning, so he startled when Eddie suddenly reached out his hand and grasped his.
“Eds…?” Buck mumbled, confused.
“Stay,” Eddie whispered back, not opening his eyes and probably still half asleep but his voice was sincere. “Stay here.”
“I, uh,” Buck was at a loss for words and Eddie’s eyes fluttered open. Eddie gave him a look and suddenly Buck didn’t care— didn’t care that this could make things weird or awkward, didn’t care that Eddie might not have asked if he wasn’t so tired, because he was asking now and god, Buck wanted.
Buck kicked off his shoes and shucked his jeans, climbing into bed beside Eddie and feeling warm at the happy sound Eddie made. As soon as he was settled, Eddie curled into him, basically using him as a human pillow and Buck had never felt better.
He closed his eyes and fell asleep almost immediately, surrounded by warmth, love, and family.

Are you afraid of dogs?
Tumblr media
(gif courtesy of google, credit to the original creator)
Pairing: Dennis x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1,5k
Request: I love your writing, Dennis and animals - an imagine that combines the three would be amazing! In The Smoke, he mentioned his fear of dogs, so I thought what would happen if he sees a pretty girl walking her dog in a park next to the fire station. Every morning before work, he passes by and would really like to get to know her, but he’s too scared to approach her because of her dog. So when he catches her eye, too, maybe she makes the first move and helps him get over his fear? Thanks! X
Note: Here ya go, love, I hope you enjoy! Also, I got the inspiration for the breed and name from my dog, I own a teacup yorkie pup called Bucky :)
The first time Dennis had seen her was four weeks ago. It had been just before 7 in the morning and he’d slowly made his way to the fire station for the start of his shift. Just like every day he would pass the park right next to his work but this morning something was different.
It was a girl around his age and she was breathtaking! Her y/h/c hair was blowing in the mild spring breeze and the early morning sun made her skin glow. He’d never seen her before and he’d definitely have noticed her, it was hard not to! His whole body was drawn to her and it took his all to not stare for too long. Instead he shyly cast a glance over every now and then. All his senses told him to talk to her, invite her for a drink, simply say hi.
The only thing stopping him from going over there was: her dog. Despite it being just a small Yorkie he was terrified and just the thought of having to face the animal almost made him break out in sweat. He could see the little pup jumping and running around, causing its owner to smile widely - which in turn let Dennis own corners of the mouth rise in amusement. Still, Dennis was too afraid to cross the street and that didn’t change for the next couple of weeks.
Every single morning he would see her pretty face walking her dog, always at the exact same time. And every single morning he would pass her and vanish into the station without saying a word to her.
But that wasn’t everything, no. After just a couple of days he noticed that the morning wasn’t the only time she’d walk her dog. It was always around lunch time he would see her as well, her and that tiny beast…
Dennis sighed. It had been ages since he last dated a girl and now that he finally was interested in one he couldn’t talk to her. He even contemplated going to therapy to get over his fear just to be able to say hi to her. Surely there had to be a way, right?
He noticed once again how gorgeous she was, even though he was far up on the roof watching her from above during yet another break. Her smile made his heart happy and her laugh - he could still hear it in the distance - made him laugh too. She obviously enjoyed herself playing with her pet, chasing it through the park and trying to teach it some tricks.
He knew he was being a chicken watching her like that, but at least he was able to watch her in peace, soaking in every one of her smiles and laughs, her beautiful face and fine figure, before going back to work and having to wait until the next morning.
It didn’t take long for the rest of the crew to notice that something was up, however hard Dennis would try and act normal. But that was to be expected, especially since he suddenly preferred to have lunch breaks on his own on the roof and staring almost lovingly into the distance every morning he came in, a slight but visible smile lingering on his lips.
“Asbo,” Dennis heard Kev’s voice interrupting yet another one of his daydreams about the girl. “You okay mate?”
The blonde nodded, most likely a bit too quickly. “Yeah, ‘m fine. Why?”
“We been watching you,” Mal grinned.
“We all have,” Al added, grinning from ear to ear. “We’ve noticed you starin’ at the lass ev’ry day. So what’s up with that?”
“What do you mean?”
Kev chuckled at Dennis’ confused look and he could clearly see the panic in the rookies face as well, no matter how hard Dennis tried to hide it. “Why don’t ya just go and introduce yourself?”
“Yeah,” Rob nodded in agreement, as if it was the easiest thing in the world, “invite her to the pub…”
“...or for a coffee…”
“Or whatever else ya fancy, eh?” Al wiggled his eyebrows, causing the rest of the team to snicker.
“I’m afraid of dogs okay,” he blurted out, nervously and angry.
Silence hit the room. And it wouldn’t stop for quite a while.
“That it?” Al was the first to break the tension.
Dennis felt the heat rushing into his cheeks. Why did they have to bring it up? Now he stood there, all embarrassed and feeling like a total creep. Defeated he collapsed on the sofa. Why did his life have to be so complicated?
“You shouldn’t let that stop ya. From what I’ve seen facin that dog’d be worth it.”
Dennis let his head slump down on the headrest and took a deep breath. He knew Kev had a point but they had no idea how hard it was for him to get over his fear. He hated dogs and just the thought of them gave him goosebumps. Yes, he’d definitely fallen for her just by watching her every day for the last month, but imagining himself facing the animal almost caused a panic attack within him. Thankfully enough, the alarm went off and within a second he had jumped up and followed the rest of the White Watch to the trucks.
Another week passed and just like every morning he made his way to work. He felt excitement and fear at the same time seeing her and her pet, but he frowned when he noticed that she wasn’t there. He scanned the area but she was nowhere to be seen.
Dennis had almost made it to the station and that’s when he saw her, standing just a couple of feet away from the fire stations entrance, her dog laying on the ground next to her. His heart started racing and he gulped with every step he took until he came to a stop in front of her - at a safe distance.
“Hey...hi,” he could hear her lovely voice, the nervousness clear in her tone. “I’m Y/N,” she introduced herself smiling.
He nodded friendly, albeit anxious himself. “Dennis,” was the only thing he could say, letting his eyes wander from her to her dog and back.
“It probably sounds strange and super stupid, but I’ve been noticing you for quite some time,” she managed to say, her words making him take a deep breath. “I always wondered if… maybe you’d like to meet up one day?”
She smiled, flustered, her rosy cheeks turning a shade darker. And that’s when her dog decided to let out a small, but loud bark at him. Dennis jumped back, his heart skipping a beat at the noise and his hands getting sweaty.
“Bucky,” she whispered to the animal, then turning back to the young man in front of her. “I’m sorry about that. He gets a bit protective…”
“It’s fine… it’s fine…” Dennis muttered, more to himself than to her, trying to calm himself. He was finally talking to her, could he not for some time ignore his fears?
He saw her expression change. It was almost as if she was searching for something in his face.
“Are you afraid of dogs?”
Dennis gulped. What should he reply to that? Be honest and destroy the only chance he probably had with her? Lie and most likely die of anxiety and a full blown panic attack? The way he saw it, no matter which way it’d go, he was screwed. He let his shoulders slump down and a sad emotion washed over him.
“You don’t have to be afraid,” Y/N directed at him, “he might be protective but he is also very loving and loves meeting new people. I could introduce you two, if you want?”
The blonde could feel his heart starting to race. He wasn’t exactly sure what the cause was. The fact that she was so understanding? That he was ready to get over his fear and actually try to befriend a dog? That she obviously was as interested in him as he was in her?
A thousand thoughts rushed through his mind but they all got shut down quickly when he felt himself nod and watch her get on her knee to take the little animal into her hands. He followed her suit, however slowly, and soon found himself kneeling next to them.
“Dennis, this is Bucky,” the girl introduced, holding the dog firmly and one of its paws towards him.
The pet was calm, almost expectantly looking at him while she showed him a charming smile he couldn’t resist. It was now or never, he thought, taking one last deep breath before guiding his shaky hand towards the furry little dog. Just a blink later he felt a tiny tongue licking over his fingers.
“See, he likes you.”
“I suppose,” he grinned proudly.
That was a lot easier than he had expected and a part of him felt disappointment in himself for waiting so long to say hi to her.
“So, would you like to meet up sometime?”
Dennis looked into the girls y/e/c eyes. “I’d love to!”
They both shared a broad smile when all of a sudden clapping and cheering could be heard from inside the station - much to Dennis’ embarrassment.
