Building Independence Through Plan Management
NDIS plan management doesn’t just help with finances; it can also play a big role in helping participants build independence.
Here’s how: Learning About Budgeting
Plan managers track spending and provide clear reports. Participants and their families can use this information to learn how to manage funds and make smart choices. Over time, this can help develop valuable budgeting skills.
Exploring More Options
With NDIS plan management, participants can choose services from registered and non-registered providers. This flexibility allows them to try new supports and decide what works best, fostering decision-making skills.
Reducing Stress for Self-Development
When a plan manager handles the paperwork and payments, participants have more time and energy to focus on their goals. Whether it’s improving daily living skills or joining a new activity, less stress means more room for growth.
Gaining Confidence Through Guidance
Plan managers don’t just handle tasks; they also offer support and advice. This empowers participants to make informed decisions about their plans and take greater control of their lives.
Focusing on Long-Term Goals
By taking care of the administrative side, plan managers allow participants to focus on what really matters: achieving independence. This could include things like learning to live on their own, pursuing education, or starting a job.
Why It Matters
NDIS plan management gives participants the tools and support to grow their independence step by step. It’s not just about handling finances; it’s about helping individuals take charge of their lives and reach their full potential.

Making our own pizzas! 🍕 Today, we embarked on lockdown-learning activity #8,976 (or, so it seems! 🤣) Home Economics (one of our favourite subjects! 😋): We decided to make our own (gluten free) pizzas, from (almost) scratch! We used a store-bought packet mix that just needed 100ml water and 1tbs of oil to be added to it to make the dough. This was great as both of these measurements were really easy for the kids to be able to do by themselves (maths, plus, it builds confidence and independence). We did talk about the ingredients that were in the packet though, especially the presence of yeast and what this does to the mixture (science lesson!) Having fairly recently done the ‘elephant toothpaste’ experiment for our YouTube channel, which also used yeast as a catalyst, this was a great talking point! They were also familiar with the smell of it too and recognised this straight away! (Engaging all of their senses throughout the experience! 👍🏻) Kneading the dough and rolling it out is also great for developing both fine and gross motor skills...just like Play Doh, only tastier! They chose and added the toppings themselves (more confidence and independence building) and we baked them in the oven (adult assistance was provided for that part!) They were so please with the results and said that they were, “Definitely, the best pizzas they’ve ever tasted!” (I suspect, mostly because they’d made them themselves!) Plus, it meant that I didn’t have to make the dinner! So, this activity definitely got a thumbs up from me too!👍🏻 So, in summary; Pizza Making = Multiple school lessons and multi-sensory learning &development opportunities, all rolled up into one, fun, activity that also saved me a job in the process...I would highly recommend you try it! 🙌🏻 We definitely need to do more things like this! All ideas welcome! 😃 #threebeansplaytime #3beansplaytime #lockdownlearning #pizzamaking #homeeconomics #scienceforkids #mathskills #sensorylearning #learningathome #homeschoolfun #eyfsideas #buildingindependence #buildingconfidence #finemotorskills #grossmotorskills https://www.instagram.com/p/CAELIoWH_2P/?igshid=7xfcoy10kjrl
