Resolucion de problemas mediante un ordenador

A lo largo de este texto se planea  explicar como realizar el proceso de resolución de problemas usando como herramienta un computador y algoritmos, para así poder desarrollar un programa y hacer la ejecución del mismo en busca de la solución. A través de una serie de pasos que te ayudan a identificar el problema de tu cliente, qué hacer con esa información, y de qué manera trabajar con ella ya que sabes los medios.

Pasos:

1.-Análisis del problema

Recopilación de información

Se debe de conseguir información y datos necesarios para resolver el problema. Dependiendo del problema que se tenga que resolver es la información que se necesitará, en esta fase se incluye: la recopilación, análisis y evaluación de la información disponible.  

Para resolver un problema se debe conocer que existe un problema en primera instancia. Podría llegar a sonar como una instrucción vaga o banal, sin embargo les podemos asegurar que no lo es, pues si no comprendemos la completa naturaleza de nuestro problema y la causa de su existencia, podemos terminar desarrollando un programa completamente diferente a nuestro real propósito. Por ello debe ser completamente claro y bien definido, y así poder idealizar sin dificultad alguna el cómo planearemos resolverlo a través del dispositivo. Mientras aún no se tenga un panorama claro del dilema, no tiene caso seguir avanzando en el procedimiento. Pero ¿En que nos podemos basar para definir nuestro problema? En los datos de entrada y salida, y las condiciones que debe cumplir en cada uno de ellos.   

2.-Especificación del Problema

Para saber cuál es el problema, empleamos la mayor parte de información que sea necesaria para describir el problema de forma precisa y clara, de nueva cuenta estaríamos trabajando con las salidas y entradas, pero esta vez estaríamos definiendo con una descripción, cantidad, y tipo de las mismas, y se describe adecuadamente cómo dependen las salidas de las entradas entre ellas dentro del algoritmo.

3.- Desarrollo de diseños previos

Este es el centro del proceso, necesitamos mayor experiencia y capacidad de decisión. Abriéndose a diferentes alternativas y métodos de desarrollo, así como también pudiendo basarse en las soluciones propuestas por terceros ante el mismo problema (Estas soluciones fueron encontradas en la etapa de “Análisis del problema”) para poder desarrollar la propia. Y al mismo tiempo se descartan ideas no posibles, se modifican las que pueden llegar a funcionar, para así poder tener planos y diseño. En esta etapa se pueden necesitar bocetos y planos preliminares

Diseños preliminares

Se desarrollan de dos fases: Análisis y síntesis, el análisis tiene la separación del conjunto. combina leyes, hechos o principios. Es necesario revisar todas las soluciones para desechar las peores.  

Búsqueda de soluciones creativas

Ya que se terminaron los pasos anteriores se podrán tener soluciones creativas.Consiste en crear nuevas ideas que tengan innovación y sean originales.Principalmente estas ideas permiten el pensamiento creativo

4.- Selección de la mejor alternativa

Una vez analizado el problema puede que se tengan muchas formas de resolverlo, lo importante es elegir cuál es la mejor alternativa, a través de las diferentes condicionales que tiene el proyecto, siendo posible el hecho de que cada una de las alternativas o las favoritas sean evaluadas por medio de un prototipo o simulador. También se deben de tener en cuenta otras variantes de decisión aparte de su correcto funcionamiento por ejemplo: ¿Cuál de las alternativas es más eficiente? ¿Cual es más eficaz? y cual de estas dos características es más relevante para el uso del programa. También se debe de tener en cuenta el coste, seguridad, fiabilidad y la aceptación del cliente.

5.-Diseño de algoritmos

Esta es una etapa donde se determina el diseño que fue solicitado. Dos de los métodos más prácticos se basan en:

“divide y vencerás”,

Esto quiere decir por  módulos y submodulos. dividiendo las veces que sean necesarias hasta que se pueda encontrar una solución  y desarrollandolo por medio de un diagrama de flujo si es necesario Para poder entrar en más a detalle acerca de este tema de dejamos un PDF aquí.

6.-Codificación  

Es la transformación o traducción de nuestros deseos a instrucciones concisas a un lenguaje de programación (C, C++, Pascal, etc ) Esta parte del proceso puede llegara ser mucho más llevadera si en el paso anterior decidimos realizar el diagrama de flujo, de esa forma simplemente cada paso en el diagrama, pasaría a ser una instrucción, en el lenguaje que decidimos que es más conveniente utilizar, para el desarrollo del programa, agregando comentarios en el medio de la codificación, de esta forma realizando una documentación interna, y que no nos sea complicado en un futuro modificar el código, ante ser incapaces de entender algo de lo que realizamos en el. Finamente el programa se introduce en el computador y traduciendo al único lenguaje entendible para el computador, dicha acción se realiza mediante el correspondiente programa compilador escogido con anticipación.    

7.- Ejecución y validación del programa

El hecho de haber desarrollado correctamente el algoritmo para luego pasar consecuentemente a la codificación, no quiere decir que el programa resuelva correctamente el problema principal, y aunque el objetivo del diseño y análisis es prevenir fallos, realmente jamás se va alcanzar un diseño libre de fallos. Por ello antes de dar por finalizada cualquier cosa, es fundamental preparar un conjunto de datos de prueba, para poder hacer las exhaustivas  pruebas que realizaremos cuando se ejecute y así verificar los resultados. Y poder tener una de dos variantes

La lógica de programación es correcta, y solo se dieron a relucir errores de menor importancia que pueden ser modificados sin mayor problema quitando o agregando instrucciones.  

El programa tiene errores de alta importancia modificando el funcionamiento principal del programa, causados por fallas de la lógica dentro del programa, lo más recomendable es volver a empezar todo de nuevo.

8.- Documentación externa

Esta es la etapa final, es decir que el programa ya está listo para ser ejecutado. Es importante hacer una documentación externa tanto la documentación interna que realizamos anteriormente . La documentación externa debe de incluir:

Enunciado del problema

Descripción de la solución

Descripción de las variables utilizadas en el programa, con su respectiva función

Y los resultados de ejecución

Revisiting The Sealey Challenge 2021

Well, I didn't actually come across the Sealey Challenge until just after it started last August... more details on their website but basically it originally started when poet and editor Nicole Sealey decided that she needed to boost her own reading and to blitz an unread poetry pamphlet/collection per day thru the month of August.

I picked up the challenge from c. 2nd August 2021 (this was maybe the 3rd or 4th year in) and I think it's fair to say that I STAGGERED through it from there!

It probably didn't help that we went off to Tenby for three weeks during the first week of August, with me having left behind the smallish number of books I'd pulled off my TBR pile (I mean, the pile is huge, but most of them at that time weren't poetry books...). But at the same time, being in a village with no bookshop was probably good for the bank balance and certainly pushed me to discover the online library service which enabled me to borrow e-books to help finish the challenge. Poems on electronic devices have their own special issues (I guess) given that the layout can be so important, and not straightforward to control [erm, impossible?] on a screen.

The act of looking back - and looking for the image of the books on the table at work (freshly fetched from Hatchards on Piccadilly) - caused me to stumble over other look-back photographs and to realise that at this point in the review/reflection cycle, it's the act of choosing to look back that has my attention, as opposed to what the activity in question was about.

Reading poetry in the case of the Sealey Challenge, sure, but other photographs looped me back round into - the first round attempt at the making of collage in inquiry. For me, this was Oct/Nov/Dec 2014, we were half way through our time living in Bathurst Mews, and I'd just started the Ashridge Masters in Sustainability and Responsibility.

And here's the other end of the "collaging" arc - this time, printing the squares as displayed in Instagram. Image is me prepping for my doctoral viva, which was held remotely because - covid... Oct 2020, so six years later...

And a glimpse of those collages appearing in the viva ppt which I prepared in lieu of having a physical room to decorate for my presentation. Thinking back, I'm certainly lucky in the format of the viva, given that my external examiner would not have been available to travel to the UK, and could not have come to the UK anyway for this purpose, under visa restrictions.

I mean, I guess it's possible that she would have been allowed to dial in but - that lopsidedness would hardly have been ideal and it was before "hybrid" became more mainstreamed.
