Would you recommend Chicago P.D.?

Hi!!! Hah. Hmmm. Ahh. That question has a... lengthy answer, because on the one hand, Jay Halstead my beloved. On the other hand, I'm throwing rocks at the writers and director's houses

Pros:

Each episode plot is intense and well written

Really fun characters with cool arcs, if not always arcs that end satisfyingly

Said characters have GOOD dynamics, and unique ones, too. Like, we've got the Atwater-Burgess-Ruzek trio, which is two thirds besties, and one third romance. Then there's the main character, Voight. You either love him or hate him, or, usually, both. SO often people send him judgmental glances when he makes dumb choices

Plus, there's my favorite character, Jay Halstead

There are like. Three ships, and they don't all end well, but they're REALLY sweet

Plus, they give found family vibes a lot

Oh and there's an adoption plot line in S8 that is. PRECIOUS. GENUINELY renewed my love for the show

It originated from Chicago Fire, and there are tons of cross overs with it, and with Chicago Med. Which I used to find lightly annoying, but then I started watching Chicago Fire, and it's kinda fun to see your blorbos from both shows being friends

Plus, I got to meet Olivia Benson from Law and Order: SVU, and she is AWESOME

My sweet, sweet boy Jay Halstead. He is my beloved

Cons:

A lot of characters get written out of the show, which I kinda understand, except the writers seem INCAPABLE of doing it in a way that actually IMPROVES said characters lives. I think it happened in a good way once, MAYBE twice. Not to mention it's often lazily written

It can be pretty graphic. We see decapitated heads in episode one, and the gore doesn't end there. And, thanks in part to their Law and Order: SVU crossovers, there are a lot of rape related episodes, especially in season four. Also, in season eleven, they show a guy whose eyes get stapled open. Why are the writers like this

They're also not afraid to get a little spicy with sexual stuff

They are... REALLY bad at letting characters be happy. Like astronomically bad

On that note, they're also addicted to killing off side characters. Like, it's not AS bad in the earlier season, but by season nine, if a CI or victim was given screen time, you KNEW they were gonna die

On that note, they also kill off one of my emotional support side characters in a way that's not only horrifying, but felt particularly awful for her

So, overall, it kinda depends on how high your angst tolerance (and gross content tolerance) is, and for bad writing. There's also a lot of good writing, too, and the characters are delightful! Plus excellent action!!

My good friend suggested I put my thoughts on Blacklist (TV show) here, so here I am.

Before I start piecing this together, I have to say something about the Redarina theory. First, I think it will never be confirmed canon because of bigotry, and also the show has ended and the true identity of Red wasn't brought back on the table since Elizabeth's death. That's two seasons completely abandoning the mystery at the center of the show. Second, I think Redarina should not be considered canon in the whole show because there are clearly contradictions, most likely because the show hesitated on what was the answer to "Who is Red?". Those contradictions and the way Katarina is talked about would make Redarina theory lean towards "women want to transition because of misogyny" terf discourse, which should not exist in the first place.

For Redarina to exist, Katarina cannot be a cis woman. Period.

Thus being said, here is a recap of my conversation with my good friend. Keep in mind I'm no expert, I'm not in the head of the writers and maybe I got some things wrong, so don't come around @ me.

I think "Cape May" is the friendlier episode of Katarina = Red because it is an episode between Katarina and Red.

There are no other characters present. It's the first time true Katarina is introduced (albeit as an hallucination). The whole episode is a replaying of what happened to Katarina the first time they were here alone (got attacked by mercenaries).

It's just so personal between them.

Katarina had come here to commit suicide after having to abandon Elizabeth to protect her. Red is here because Elizabeth just died. "Cape May" is where they go when they lose Elizabeth. No one other than the parent of the lost child would react that way.

Besides, Katarina abandonned a necklace on the beach when they came to Cape May, alone, with no one else to testify of it. And years later, Red finds it when he comes to Cape May and recognises it. The only person who could have known that is Katarina themselves.

Red = Katarina stays the only viable explanation left at the end of the show, especially after s8 finale. Watching s8 finale, I felt like the show had finally decided on a response to "Who is Red?" and that that response was Redarina, especially with the overlapping of Katarina and Red. Then the last two seasons left that mystery to rot and never gave a clear answer, which I guess is understable since Elizabeth died and she was the main character concerned by this (Agnes is too young to be concerned I guess?? Even though it seems Elizabeth told her ThingsTM, which is yet another thing the show will never explain).

Anyway, there are many hints that Red was very close to Katarina, knowing things about Katarina no one else knew and stating he was present in situations where Katarina was supposedly alone.

For example, when Elizabeth was a kid, she was in a house with her parent, Katarina, and her dad, the true Raymond Reddington. Long story short, Katarina and the true Raymond Reddington fight, a fire starts and the true Raymond Reddington dies. Katarina got Elizabeth out of the house, both of them getting burns in the process. The only person left who knows what happened inside that house is Katarina, since Elizabeth was too young to have clear memories of everything.

But then Red knows what happened. He even engaged someone to erase Elizabeth's memories of the night. Even more so, Red was present because he has burns from that night. So since the only person other than Elizabeth who survived the night was Katarina, they are the only candidate left as a response for "Who is Red?"

I'm passing all the other details such as, Katarina's husband wanted to kill Red and immediately let go of the idea after Red whispered something to him, Katarina's allies are allies of Red meaning that all the people who could have taken the role of Red are out there being their own selves.

Also, Red visits Katarina's father, who asks to have his child back, and Red says it's impossible. In s8, Red states that Katarina is still alive and living somewhere out there, so if it was true he could have gotten Katarina's father and Katarina reunited. Hell there's even a wholeass season where a woman impersonates Katarina and if Katarina was still really out there, the best way to get rid of the problem would have been to bring the true Katarina back but he doesn't because Red. is. right. there.

The show has established all the characters evolving around Katarina. The true Raymond Reddington? Dead, there's a whole season about identifying his squeletton. Katarina's husband? Was running around to get Red killed, so obviously he can't be Red. Katarina's handler? He's seen having dinner with Red. Ilya? He's still out there standing right next to Red. Kaplan? She's right there standing next to Red too. The season "Katarina" is introduced and you see her standing in the same room as Red? It's not the true Katarina!

Literally all the characters introduced by the show who could have been Red are not. The only one left is Katarina. The only option left for Katarina =/= Red would be a stranger, like an actor, because all Katarina's allies and relatives are still themselves, but someone not related in any way to Katarina would never care so much about Elizabeth. Or a character not introduced by the show at all, but then what's even the point.

I'm not even starting on the whole discourses Red gives about parental love and what not and how some of his words are sometimes literally the same as Katarina's words.

Then the show also imply, sometimes heavily, that Red would have a romantic/sexual attraction towards Elizabeth, which is disgusting and should never have happened, because the show kept hesitating about the response to "Who is Red?" Lizzington ends up being straight up incest and that's just a big No.

Again there are contradictions, because in one of the early episodes Red makes a house explodes. That house, is the house the true Raymond Reddington shared with his American family, his first family before he met Katarina. In this episode, Red gets inside the house and remembers quircks of the house from when he lived in it (leaving his hat on the hand of a door, a metallic something on the floor creaking under his shoes, etc.) and that are things he shared with his first american family, things from the true Raymond Reddington that Red/Katarina supposedly wouldn't care about.

So there are episodes like that that go completely the other way, even though there's later an entire season dedicated to proving Red is not the true Raymond Reddington.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 5G: il tablet perfetto per studio, lavoro e svago - Recensione

Il Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, rappresenta un'importante novità nel segmento entry-level dei tablet Galaxy di Samsung, grazie all'introduzione di un display AMOLED a 120Hz. Questo rappresenta un notevole salto di qualità rispetto allo schermo LED del Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 dello scorso anno e porta gli eccellenti display AMOLED, che fino ad ora erano esclusiva dei modelli più costosi, alla portata del più accessibile Galaxy Tab S9. Nonostante il Galaxy Tab S9 venga commercializzato insieme ai suoi fratelli più costosi e avanzati, il Galaxy Tab S9+ e il Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, per la prima volta non è necessario optare per un modello superiore per godere di un eccellente tablet Samsung dotato di schermo AMOLED. Dopo alcune settimane di utilizzo del Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 sia per lavoro che per svago, posso confermare che l'aggiornamento al display AMOLED apporta un significativo miglioramento nell'uso quotidiano. Se si tiene il Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 come un foglio di carta, con la porta USB-C rivolta verso il basso, il pulsante di accensione e i tasti del volume si trovano comodamente nella metà superiore del bordo destro. Sul retro del tablet c'è una leggera sporgenza dove spicca la fotocamera, e sotto di essa si trova una striscia di ricarica magnetica verticale dove è possibile attaccare la stylus inclusa quando non viene utilizzata. Display Come i suoi predecessori, il Galaxy Tab S8 sfoggia un display da 11 pollici WQXGA (2.560 x 1.600 pixel) con un refresh rate di 120Hz. Tuttavia, a differenza dei modelli precedenti, questa volta è dotato di un display AMOLED. Questo è un aspetto di grande rilievo, poiché è il primo anno in cui Samsung rende disponibile lo schermo AMOLED anche nel modello base della serie Galaxy Tab, una caratteristica prima riservata solo alle varianti più costose Galaxy Tab Plus e Ultra. Ma il 2023 è l'anno in cui Samsung standardizza i display AMOLED in tutta la linea Galaxy Tab S9, un cambiamento intelligente. Come si può vedere dal grafico sottostante, tuttavia, non può competere con i chipset più potenti presenti nei tablet di Apple e Lenovo. L'iPad Air dell'anno scorso, nonostante utilizzi il vecchio chip M1 di Apple, ha superato in termini di prestazioni CPU il Galaxy Tab S9 di quest'anno. Audio Nonostante i quattro altoparlanti incorporati nel Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 non forniscano molte basse frequenze, offrono comunque un paesaggio sonoro sorprendentemente forte e pieno. Il tablet supporta Dolby Atmos (anche se è necessario attivarlo prima nel menu Impostazioni, sotto la voce Suoni e vibrazione > Qualità del suono ed effetti) per la visione di contenuti multimediali e durante il gioco, e ho trovato piacevole averlo attivo mentre guardavo film e giocavo. Anche se le basse frequenze sono praticamente inesistenti, la qualità del suono emesso dal S9 è migliore di quanto mi aspettassi e rimane costante anche ad alto volume. Software Il Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 viene fornito con Android 13. All'interno troviamo software Samsung  come Samsung Notes, Samsung Cloud e Samsung Flow. Queste app sono utili se si possiedono già altri dispositivi Galaxy e si è immersi nell'ecosistema Samsung, poiché facilitano la condivisione dei dati tra i dispositivi. Ma se questo è l'unico dispositivo Samsung che possiedi, non troverai molta utilità nella maggior parte delle app Samsung aggiuntive. Camera Il Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 è dotato di una coppia di fotocamere, una frontale con un obiettivo ultra-grandangolare da 12 MP e una fotocamera posteriore da 13 MP. Questo rappresenta un downgrade rispetto al modello dell'anno scorso, poiché il Galaxy Tab S8 aveva la stessa fotocamera frontale da 12 MP UW e una lente con autofocus da 13 MP più un obiettivo ultra-grandangolare da 6 MP sul retro. Quest'anno Samsung ha rimosso la fotocamera ultra-grandangolare dal retro del modello base del Tab, anche se è ancora presente nei modelli più costosi Galaxy Tab S9+ e Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Sebbene sia un downgrade vedere Samsung rimuovere l'obiettivo ultra-grandangolare dal retro del Galaxy Tab S9, nel mio uso quotidiano non l'ho sentita particolarmente mancare. Probabilmente perché non mi piace l'idea di usare un tablet per scattare foto, quindi se non stessi testando questo tablet per lavoro non avrei mai provato ad usare la fotocamera posteriore invece di tirare fuori il mio telefono. Le foto e i selfie che ho scattato sembravano nitidi e colorati, e non ho lamentele riguardo alle fotocamere e al software di fotoritocco disponibili sul Galaxy Tab S9. A differenza degli anni precedenti, Samsung dovrebbe presentare tre nuovi tablet della serie Galaxy Tab S8 all'inizio del prossimo anno. Il più costoso, chiamato Ultra, promette di essere il tablet Android definitivo. Il giorno dopo l'annuncio dello Xiaomi Pad 5 in Europa, è il turno del Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra di far parlare di sé. Il leaker Ice Universe ha condiviso nuove informazioni sul tablet e ora sappiamo che potrebbe essere uno dei più grandi mai commercializzati.

In effetti, Ice Universe corrobora le informazioni provenienti da precedenti fughe di notizie affermando che lo schermo del tablet Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra misurerà ben 14,6 pollici, rispetto ai 12,4 pollici del Galaxy Tab S7+ dell'anno scorso. Come sulle precedenti generazioni, avremo a che fare con uno schermo OLED, che potrebbe magari utilizzare la tecnologia LTPO del Galaxy S21 Ultra. Ciò consentirebbe in particolare di variare dinamicamente la frequenza di aggiornamento del tablet tra 10 Hz e 120 Hz a seconda del contenuto visualizzato.

IL GALAXY TAB S8 ULTRA DOVREBBE ESSERE MOLTO AUTONOMO Chi dice che il grande schermo di solito dice che la batteria è di grande capacità. Secondo Ice Universe, il tablet verrà fornito con un'enorme batteria da 11.500 mAh, che è 1410 mAh in più rispetto alla batteria del Galaxy Tab S7+. Infine, non sorprende che il tablet sarà compatibile con gli stilo S Pen dell'azienda e probabilmente utilizzerà la doppia fotocamera sul retro. Ice Universe pensa che il Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra sarà dotato di doppia fotocamera frontale, un sensore grandangolare e un sensore ultra grandangolare. Questi sarebbero alloggiati in una piccola tacca, ma probabilmente ci vorranno ancora molti mesi prima che ne sapremo di più.
