Sirius Black does not find a quiet, desolate corner of the labyrinthine school library to cry in. It’s just not done. First of all, he’s a Black. Second of all, he’s an utter twat with an ego nearly as big a Potter’s. Third of all, god damn it, she can’t just walk on by, and it’s not because they’re friends (they are most certainly not) and it’s not because she is overcome with pity for him, the poor pureblood heir who thinks because he’s got one halfblood friend he should be up for some sort of peace prize, but it’s because while he is a prick, a cad, and often an all-around bastard, he is not so far gone that she can countenance leaving him alone like this.

Besides, she’s really in no rush to start her prefect patrol, they’ve paired her up with Macmillan, talk about a bore. Ugh. Neither of them says a word, although he stiffens slightly as she slides down the bookcase to sit beside him on the dusty floor, her skirt rumpled, her bookbag in her lap, scrutinizing his red, blotchy face and the way he keeps furiously swiping at his Roman nose. At least he doesn’t look half as handsome when he’s crying. It makes him a little more likable; just another snotty, snivelly teenager, not some Byronic hero shedding a lone, masculine tear as he stares off into the heath. “So,” he finally says, hoarsely, when he’s composed himself. “What page of the school paper is this going on?” “Alright, have a care,” she snaps, unsurprised she’s already peeved with him. “I’m not here for an angle for the bloody paper, Black. I’m trying to be decent, which is a damn sight more than you’d be, if you came across someone crying in the library!” “Harsh as ever, Evans,” he mutters. “Please,” she snorts. “Davey Perkins whimpers once in Defence Against the Dark Arts in third year, and you and your pathetic mates imitate him for the next three months.” She strikes up a low, mocking whine, “D-D-Daveyyyyyy, are you cryingggg? Shall we owl for Mummmmy?” He winces. “Alright. Point taken. I’m a fucking hypocrite. I’ll send Davey flowers and a note of apology before we graduate. Merlin.”

That does get a soft chuckle out of her. Sirius glances over at her as though he’d never seen her before, which she supposes makes sense. When James is being his usual idiot self, Sirius is usually looking at him, smirking, not at the target of James’ attention.

“Don’t even know why I was crying,” he says. “Thought I got that out of my system a decade ago. Mother like mine, you tend to go through tears quickly.” He’s speaking in that quick, low, deprecating tone that most boys use when they don’t want to sound weak or emotional. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a good cry,” Lily says, somewhat awkwardly nudging him with her elbow. “Bet you feel loads better now, though, yeah?”

He’s silent for a moment, then pushes some of his thick black hair behind a reddened ear, though the flush in his face is already fading. “Yeah.” He glances back at her with an odd sort of half-smile. “Thanks.” To her utter dismay, her own face heats up. Christ. No. Abort. She is not about to fall for the trademarked Look this late in the match. She’s made it through five years of schooling without feeling an inkling for him beyond irritation and occasionally genuine fury. Not now! But there’s nothing smug, no ‘caught you out, Evans, guess you’re not immune after all’ to his searching look, just genuine gratitude and a softness she did not think was possible from any member of his fucked up purist family, even if he’s the ‘good egg’ of the bunch. Well, in for a penny- She kisses him swiftly on the cheek, teasingly, she tells herself, she’s just messing around, and tries to ignore the taste of his tears on her lips as she clambers to her feet. He stares after her, as if she’d seen him off with a slap instead. “Well,” Lily draws it out too long. “Got to start my patrol. Prefect rubbish. You know.” She waves haltingly, and ignores his muffled exclamation after her as she walks away, far too quickly.

i’m really curious about your biases, and i’m well aware that your about me page says to guess based on your writing,, but like,, i want the stories >.< (if u feel like sharing)

Hi! Happy New Year!! I’ll try to explain away my love for each of them (svt,Got7,nct) This is gonna be a long ass post so buckle up 🎢 If u or anyone wants to talk about their biases with me feel free to drop a message so we can squeal over these guys together :-)

SEVENTEEN- okay so there’s 13 of them so the obvious solution is to claim 3 biases which are Vernon, Mingyu and Seungkwan. I honestly don’t think they have any particular order but I do love them in different ways.

I will start with the first one that caught my eye and it was Vernon. For context, I was on a GOT7 video rampage in June 2020 (bc I had just found out about them) and this Pretty U dance video was recommended so I pressed it and was immediately like “there’s a white guy in kpop?”. I thought he was cute and was AMAZED at the choreo. I love Vernon because he’s just unapologetically himself. The way he carries himself isn’t forced or exaggerated. He doesn’t do things to purposely make people laugh but he’s still funny and it shows through his facial reactions, cluelessness and randomly blunt comments. Also?? His voice is so??? I literally melt when he talks it’s so attractive. I perceive him as a person who is grounded and has never let the fame dim his light,, I like that he feels real. Sure he doesn’t talk the most but it’s bc he would rather observe and be present about how other people see things. 

Mingyu is the kind of guy who you’d proudly bring home to your parents. He’s smart, can cook, cleans, and he’s handsome. But more importantly, he can take a joke. BUT EVEN MOREEEEE THAN THAT, he can take always being the butt of the joke which can be incredibly hard but I find that incredibly attractive. He’s also mad clumsy (and as a clumsy person myself) I find it so endearing. Mingyu looks perfect, but remembering that he can’t responsibly hold something without dropping it is humanizing.  He’s the type of person that follows through and is dedicated to what he does. I’m not gonna lie, when I first got into Seventeen I thought he was gonna be the mean, somewhat cocky guy but he is such a lovable idiot and I’m glad I was wrong. Also he is the human version of Tadashi Hamada (((if you tell me I’m wrong you are wrong)))

Seungkwan is just straight up outrageous. He’s like the opposite of Vernon bc he’s not subtly funny, he’s just funny. He’s overdramatic and annoying (I mean this lovingly) and he’s incredibly smart with how he inserts himself into comedic situations. I remember the first time he really stood out to me was the video where they did dance mafia. Seungkwan randomly made up a rule that was like “if you wanna talk you gotta do aegyo” (18:25) and then proceeded to do some “”cute”” poses. Take in that this was one of my first ever Kpop videos so I was SOOOOOOOO CONFUSED BUT I ACTUALLY LAUGHED MY ASS OFF. I had no idea why he would even suggest that (I know now it’s to make the game more entertaining) or how he was SO FUCKING QUICK WITH IT.  I got such a huge kick outta when Seungkwan tried to talk and one of the members were like “Nah where’s your aegyo?” and this man hit another pose so he could COMPLAIN. I love Seungkwan. He’s so sweet and he deserves the world. Remember when he gave photographers oranges and was apologetic about how he didn’t have enough??? I’m cryingggg. I love the way he takes care of his members, and how he (opposite of Mingyu) cannot take getting teased and has to take things up a level. I feel like I would actually be friends with him irl if he was just your everyday person.

GOT7- My first ever group and my Ult group. My friend introduced me to Lullaby I think in May 2020 and I thought it was a good song despite not being a kpop fan at the time. I didn’t look into them until June 2020 just outta curiosity and now here we are. During my video binge I came across the A music video and realized I had seen it in 2014 bc my cousin was a HUGE kpop fan and she showed me the mv when it came out. LMAO I feel like it was always meant to be even if I was 6 years late.

That being said, my ult bias is Jay B. This is my boyyyyy. (Not in the delusional way, but like in the YOOOOOO THATS MY BOYYY!!! way like how you hype up your friends). I can literally say so much about him. The first time I really noticed him was at the end of the Confession Song video (4:09), where he was laying on the bed and YoungJae was pretending to smack him or something and I was like “waittttt. Why is he actually so cute?” ((Also the whole video is chaotic but I LOVE it)) He has such a presence when he performs. He can be intense (3:06) sometimes, sure, but he is detailed and performs with his whole body. On top of that, even his face is perfectly expressive when he dances. He depicts the emotions that are expected from the song. Mans so sexy and alluring as well (if this happened to me I would simply pass away) Jay B is also one of the best leaders imo. There is no better example than when GOT7 split from JYP and Jay B took care of the legal stuff and the ownership of their name, AND made sure the other members were good to go before revealing what company he decided to sign to. Like GO OFF!!!!!!! He’s always been supportive of his member’s endeavours. (Similarly to Mingyu) He gets bullied the most by his members, and seeing him have to explain his joke or get teased is so pleasing to my spirit bc for a long time he tried to uphold this like tough leader image,,, in reality he is soft and basically powerless against those 6 idiots ESPECIALLY when Bambam messes with him. I appreciate that he doesn’t always take himself so seriously. (The pumpkin carving video has so many gems like when he did a handstand (2:30) bc he won 2nd???, he gave his pumpkin an ADAMS APPLE???, the way he said “WOW” to Jackson’s pumpkin) I’m in love with the way he throws his head so far back when he laughs and his overall duality (the fact that he tried to put on a very tightened baseball cap that fits Bambam's head and then stopped like PLSSS 😭😭😭i crack up every single time holyyy). He’s also sooo musically talented,,, like deadass all of the songs he’s written/produced for GOT7 are coincidentally my faves (You Are, Thursday, Come On, Sunrise, Look, One and Only),,, it’s crazy how he is consistently good at what he does. He has very, very attractive features as well. He has broad ass shoulders, beautiful catlike monolid eyes, and a great big smile that looks hard to fake. On top of that, his personal clothing style is my favourite. Jay B loves what he does and its been such a pleasure seeing him thrive inside and outside of the band.

NCT- I know what you’re thinking, the obvious answer is probably Johnny bc of my username but I think the honest answer is Mark. I feel like there is not one member of NCT that doesn’t not like Mark. He is such a friendly person (plsss the air high five to the guy in the back at 2:08) and whenever I’ve seen his fancalls he is always so attentive, remembers small details about people, and knows how to fill up the silence when people are unsure of what to say. He makes people feel comfortable and treats the people he meets along the way like friends. He is so eye catching when he dances,,, he literally becomes like a different person. You can tell he puts in everything he got when he performs. His voice also makes me feel some type of way !!!! Ahhhhh !!! I love his sense of humour and the way he scrunches his lil nose when he laughs. He very much gives off boy next door energy. If I had to think of one person in the world who deserves to be famous, it’s definitely Mark Lee. He’s personable, talented and humble.

I’m also partial to Johnny (ideal type), Jungwoo (funny as hell), and Renjun (basically a version of me) and I could probably talk quite a bit about them but I feel like this is such a long list already (and it took about 2 hours to write). I also wanna add that I found out the average of how I rate each member of Seventeen in my ratings and I am clearly not very biased to my biases at all LMAO (I’ll probably post it soon).
