"Stay still," you murmur, barely above a whisper. "We both know it doesn’t tickle you."

The brush glides over his skin, a whisper of ink against warmth, sketching the fluttering language of fire and renewal—the dialect of the vermilion bird. The liquid gold flows in deliberate lines, catching the light, flickering like the playful gleam in his amber eyes.

They watch you, steady and patient, a quiet indulgence in the moment.

He leans back on his palms, legs crossed, open to your artistry, his expression amused yet tranquil. His lips move absently, shaping sounds without voice, as if tasting the syllables you write. Each stroke of your hand is deliberate, your focus so deep that your tongue peeks out in concentration, the rest of the world narrowing to the ink, the skin, the moment.

"Remind me again why you had to write this here?" Caleb asks, his voice warm, teasing, yet unhurried, as if savoring the sensation. His amusement is a slow tide, not disruptive but coaxing, letting you explore the canvas of his body without urgency.

"Du-hu," you tease, your voice lilting with mischief. "Because your back and arms are covered!"

Caleb smirks, tilting his head. "Mhm… and you just had to use me as your canvas? Not, say, paper—like a normal person?" His voice dips, playful, yet laced with something warmer.

You meet his gaze, unbothered. "Because I'm not a normal person."

With a slow, deliberate flick of your wrist, the brush feathers over his lips, leaving a trail of shimmering gold. His breath hitches—just for a second—before his smirk deepens, eyes dark with intrigue.

He grabs your wrist, his grip firm yet deliberate, eyes locked onto yours with an intensity that stills the air between you.

"You're right," he whispers, pulling you closer, his breath warm against your skin.

"You are..." he continues. His voice trails as he breathes you in, the moment stretching, charged and unspoken.

Caleb brushes a faint kiss against your lips—chaste, precious, a whisper of warmth. It lingers like a promise, stamped in golden ink, sealing itself into you.

Then—a single drop of ink slips from the brush, rolling down his chest in a slow, deliberate path. Both of you follow its descent, breath hitching in quiet tandem. When it finally vanishes against his skin, his gaze lifts to meet yours—amber burning, then shifting to violet, dark and endless.

The moment snaps.

Caleb surges forward, capturing your lips in a kiss that is nothing like the first—deep, unguarded, heat unfurling between you in slow, deliberate waves. It lingers, insistent and searching, until the space between you blurs and breath itself fades into nothing, swallowed by the intensity of his mouth pressed against yours.

His lips worship you, each movement tender yet consuming, as though he's savoring every second, every taste of you. "Y-you are... right," he mutters between heated breaths, his hands pulling you closer, wanting more of you, deeper. The fire ignites, spreading rapidly through your veins, setting your skin ablaze. The heat intensifies, flooding your body, each wave making you ache with the desperate need to be closer.

An undeniable urge to strip away the distance between you rises, driven by a burning desire to feel him entirely, to be consumed by the flames of his touch. As he pulls you over him, his voice trembles,

"You are…" he murmurs, voice hitching. His eyes search yours, violet and intent, as your foreheads touch. A slow exhale, then softer, steadier —

"Very special."

"Show me," you murmur back, your lips brushing against his as you pull back just enough to meet his eyes, "show me how special I am."

He lets out a quiet chuckle, his eyes darkening with amusement.

"I thought you'd never ask."

mmm I’m gonna say it…I really, really don’t like how this fandom treats nonbinary people. yes this is an otome game that’s targeted to straight women but that doesn’t mean nonbinary people and even men can’t play it and love and thirst over the characters.

I’ve been writing a sylus x male reader fic, I shared a few paragraphs and someone commented “Why? lads men aren’t gay!”

Yes, you’re absolutely right! They’re the straightest fictional men to ever exist but what people do in fanon isn’t going to change what’s canon.

There’s a thousand and one fics with lads men x fem reader. I love and enjoy those so much and I’ve even written a few of my own…but I am nonbinary and one of the ways I explore my gender fuckery is through fiction.

I don’t always want sylus or caleb to fuck my pussy or feel up my tits sometimes I want them to suck my non existent dick and fuck me in the ass!

I see a lot of people get defensive and claim they’re not homophobic but maybe the people who get so up in arms about lads men x male reader or when people ship the guys together should ask themselves why it bothers them so much. Especially because it doesn’t affect you and if you don’t want to see something, you have the option to block and mute.

…I think a lot of people get way, waaaay to defensive about this game. Nobody’s gonna take it from you. 💀 The characters aren’t gonna magically turn gay, the company has made that crystal clear. Idk…shit like this just turns me off from wanting to engage and participate in the fandom.

I know that I'm far from the only one obsessed with love and deepspace who's nonbinary or a guy, but idk where/how to find fic/fanart with a masc/androgynous player character. I'm not expecting there to be much/any nonbinary-specific stuff that's been created & shared, but I've been surprised that I haven't been able to find anything so far featuring guy MC/reader x Sylus/Zayne/Xavier/Rafayel/Caleb.

I'm largely looking for fluff or for smut featuring either the guys as yanderes or featuring power exchange/kink with the player character/reader being on either side of the slash, but leads on ANY fic/art with a masc/androgynous MC x any of the the guys would be greatly appreciated :)

I'm head over heels for Sylus, Zayne, and Xavier, so any masc/ambiguous reader/player content featuring them will have me especially giddy, haha.

I haven't unlocked Caleb yet, cuz I'm not current with the main story. From what I've seen people say, Caleb turns out to be a lifelong friend who "Grandma" (if she had a name, I've forgotten it) also took in after the deepspace tunnel accident, rather than genuinely raised alongside the MC as a brother. It seems like him referring to himself as your "brother" could maybe be a matter of mistranslation? I've heard he can be kinda possessive & protective if you draw certain memories, so I wouldn't mind spoilers from stuff with him, if anyone has fic/art recs with him in them, too.

Does anyone have recs for Love and Deepspace fic or fanart featuring masc/ambiguous reader/MC x any of the guys? Or know of any leads regarding tags I could use to find that?

Edit: Someone else who has unlocked Caleb already has informed me that what I read elsewhere was inaccurate & he was indeed raised as your sibling, with him referring to himself as your brother in the single story scene with him I've seen not being a mistranslation. So, I am not interested in recs for Caleb x MC/reader fanart/fic after all.

- The Sandman (TV) - Netflix I am begging you for a season 2 please.

- Monster High (Movie) - While the Monster High franchise definitely sounds right up my ally, I was a bit too late to experience its heyday and never really got into it. I’ve always been curious though so this G3 reboot seems like a good time to check it out, with an introductory live action movie and an upcoming TV show with some pretty cute looking animation. The movie was cute, very original Disney channel-ish, I doubt I’d recommend it to anyone but I had fun. Frankie in particular was a standout, both in the movie and cartoon/doll line they have a great design and I liked most of their fashion-Also, nonbinary rep in kids media! Very cool. 

- Breath Of The Wild (Video Game) - Playing this game as free therapy, the relaxing vibes are what I’m here for.

- Golden Kamuy (Anime) - Glad to be back, this season should have some of my favorite arcs and scenes. Vasily is here and very cute as well, love his little Ogata fanart.

- Hollow Knight (Video Game) - Started a playthrough and man. The gap between the adorable designs and hauntingly lovely visuals and the actual lore of this game sure is something. Little Ghost can go right next to Kirby in the “adorable non-verbal game protagonists who can and have killed Gods.”

- Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun (Anime) - It’s back! It’s so unbelievably nice to get some good wholesome monster content, I missed all these characters and I’ve heard the upcoming arc is a lot of fun so looking forward to it.
