last weekend we went boondock car camping in this spot close to a really nice river, a lot of it was splash deep but there were some deeper spots for swimming. me and my friend stood in up to our waist playing with the dogs and it was so nice. the dogs did really well when i left them tethered to my car to sit in my friends to eat. i’m so grateful to have so many beautiful shots of the kids

AuSable Chasm 🏕️

We tent-camped at AuSable Chasm Campground with very little foliage between the campsites. I highly recommend signing up for the lantern tour. It took about an hour and a half to do the full yellow trail in the dark, but the trail was easy (bar for a lot of steps) and we got s’mores as a treat.

We finished all the available trails at AuSable the next morning so we took an afternoon trip to Vermont on the ferry. Well worth the $15 round trip ticket.

Grout Pond, VT in June

Our campsite was so close to the lake. It was beautiful. I plan to camp there again someday, but I'll bring better gear and a warmer sleeping pad. Didn't expect the ground to be as cold as it was.

Bonus pic of my dog, she napped while we enjoyed sitting by the lake and watching the water.

Theirs just something about a white out mountain. Unfortunately and fortunately this was our climb up Mt.Mansfield in VT. It's hard to feel disappointed with the weather when it creates an entirely new and ominous atmosphere.

#i tend not to feel childhood nostalgia that much (mainly for 🏳️‍⚧️ reasons nothing bad i just don’t wanna be a girl again)#but i want to be in vermont rn so so so bad #put me in a tent under the stars #let me be next to a campfire and someone’s playing harmonica softly and my grandfather’s telling cool stories from when he was a game warde #and i wanna go fishing out on a reservoir in a canoe and catch a 2 ft long fish (true story actually)#but it’s not just the camping i wanna be with my family i wanna be in my grandparents house with their woodstove #and i wanna sleep in the guest room that’s been mine since before i can remember #and i wanna see my cousins #luckily i’m going to vermont next week and i’m meeting my new cousin (!!)#but we’re not camping in the same spot we normally do #it should be good tho #i’m really excited #i get vermont-sick like every six months it’s a problem 😭
