Candle light dinner on beach in Dubai
There’s nothing quite like a candlelight dinner on the beach in Dubai. Whether you’re on a romantic date or simply enjoying some quality time with family and friends, it’s the perfect way to witness the beauty of the city while savoring the exquisite flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine. In this blog post, we will discuss what makes a candlelight dinner on the beach in Dubai so special. From delicious food to stunning views, we will explore how this experience can be an unforgettable one for you and your loved ones.
What is a candle light dinner?
There is nothing more romantic than enjoying a candle light dinner on the beach in Dubai. The gentle sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the sand between your toes, and the soft glow of the candles create an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. A candle light dinner is a great way to celebrate a special occasion, or simply to enjoy some quality time with your loved one. If you are planning to surprise your significant other with a candle light dinner on the beach, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, make sure to choose a secluded spot on the beach so you can enjoy some privacy. Second, bring along some comfortable chairs or blankets so you can relax and enjoy the meal. Third, don't forget to bring along some bug spray! Mosquitoes can ruin a romantic evening very quickly. fourth, be sure to pack a picnic basket with all of your favorite foods and drinks. fifth, don't forget the candles! Candles are an essential part of setting the mood for a romantic evening. If you follow these tips, you are sure to have a magical evening that you and your loved one will remember forever.
Why Dubai is the best place for a candle light dinner?
There are many reasons why Dubai is the best place for a candle light dinner. First, the weather in Dubai is perfect for an outdoor dinner. The average temperature in Dubai is 29 degrees Celsius, which is perfect for dining outdoors. Second, the scenery in Dubai is beautiful. The city has many skyscrapers and buildings that make it look like a cityscape, but it also has beaches and other natural areas that make it a beautiful place to dine. Third, the food in Dubai is some of the best in the world. There are many different cuisines available in Dubai, so you can find anything you're looking for. Fourth, the service in Dubai is impeccable. You will be able to find a waiter or waitress who speaks your language and can help you with anything you need. Fifth, Dubai is a safe place to dine. There are security guards everywhere and the police are always patrolling the streets. You can feel safe and secure while you enjoy your meal.
How to make a romantic evening special with your partner?
When it comes to planning a romantic evening with your partner, it is important to consider what will make the night special for both of you. One way to do this is to plan a candlelit dinner on the beach. This can be a very romantic setting, especially if you choose a beach that has a stunning view. If you are not able to find a restaurant that offers this type of dining experience, you can always create your own beachfront dining area. All you need is a table, chairs, and some candles. You can set up the table and chairs on the sand, and then use the candles to create a romantic ambiance. If you are not sure how to do this, there are plenty of tutorials online that can help you out. Once you have your beachfront dining area set up, it is time to focus on the food. You will want to choose dishes that are both tasty and romantic. For example, you could start off with a nice salad or soup, followed by a delicious seafood entrée. For dessert, chocolate is always a good choice because it is known for being an aphrodisiac! After dinner, you can take a walk along the beach or even go for a swim if it is still light out. This is a great way to end the evening on a high note.
What are the benefits of having a candle light dinner?
Dining by candlelight is one of the most relaxing and romantic experiences you can have. There's something about the soft flickering light and the soothing ambiance it creates that just makes you feel at ease. It's the perfect way to unwind after a long day or to celebrate a special occasion. And while dining by candlelight may seem like a simple luxury, there are actually quite a few benefits to be had. Here are just a few of the benefits of having a candle light dinner: 1. It can help you wind down after a long day. The soft light and calming ambiance of a candlelit dinner can be very soothing, making it the perfect way to unwind after a long day. Whether you're coming home from work or taking a break from caring for your kids, spending some time in this peaceful environment can help you relax and recharge. 2. It's more intimate than dining in a brightly lit room. If you're looking to create an intimate setting, dining by candlelight is definitely the way to go. The dim lighting helps set the mood for conversation and connection, making it ideal for date night or catching up with close friends. 3. It can boost your mood and mental well-being. In addition to helping you relax, studies have shown that dining by candlelight can also improve your mood and mental well-being. One study found that participants who ate their meals in dimly lit rooms felt happier and less stressed
How to plan the perfect candle light dinner in Dubai?
If you are planning a candle light dinner on the beach in Dubai, there are a few things you need to take into consideration to make sure everything goes smoothly. First, you need to choose the right location. The beach is a beautiful place for a romantic dinner, but it can also be quite windy. You will want to find a spot that is sheltered from the wind so that your candles don't keep blowing out. You also need to make sure you have enough space for your table and chairs. Once you have found the perfect spot, it's time to start setting up. If you are using real candles, make sure they are placed in sturdy holders that won't tip over in the wind. If you are using battery operated candles, they will be less likely to blow out but you still need to be careful with them around sand. Once your candles are set up, you can start setting your table. A nice tablecloth or runner will help create a more intimate atmosphere. Don't forget the rose petals! Scattering them around yourtable and chairs will add a touch of romance. Now it's time for the food! If you are cooking yourself, make sure everything is ready before your guests arrive so that you can enjoy your meal as well.

Eddie hated Christmas. He hated it ever since that time in primary school when they had to put on a nativity play and everyone but him seemed to care about that stupid Jesus story; he didn’t even know what it was about until his teacher pulled him aside to explain it to him (which only happened after Brad made fun of him for it). He hated it ever since that time they had to craft some stupid paper mache Santa, when he jumped on a table to yell at all his classmates that Santa wasn’t even real (after which his teacher scolded him and made him stand in the corner for the remainder of the day). He hated it ever since that time their classroom got a Christmas tree and his teacher demanded that he’d participate in decorating it, while refusing to let him bring a menorah from home instead.
He didn’t understand why he was forced to participate in this thing that wasn’t even his. He didn’t understand why his teachers never allowed him share the stories that his uncle always told him during the darkest days of the year: stories about the bravery of the Maccabees, the holiness of the Temple far away in Jerusalem, and the miracle of the candles. His uncle usually never talked much, but whenever they had a holiday to celebrate, he’d share the most wonderful and captivating stories in his slow, solemn voice. (Eddie had believed that his uncle was a rabbi until an embarrassingly late age).
When the first Christmas after he started dating Steve came around, he dreaded it. It was obvious to him that Steve was the kind of guy who’d care a great deal about Christmas. He’d probably want to do it all properly: hang a ridiculous amount of lights, have a big dinner, put presents under a neatly decorated tree... Eddie wanted to be on board with that, for Steve, but by G’d, he hated Christmas.
Little did Eddie know that Steve hated Christmas, too. Steve hated it ever since that Christmas dinner in some hotel in Paris, or Dubai, or maybe it was Buenos Aires, when his parents had systemically refused to talk to each other and the tension in the room was nearly sharp enough to cut the turkey without any knife. He hated it even more ever since his parents gave up on doing holidays altogether and Christmas became nothing but a check and a greeting card for him.
Eddie was baffled when Steve, on a dark evening in early December, told him how much he was struggling with the idea of turning the holiday around to make a new tradition with Eddie. Eddie laughed, full of relief, and told him he shouldn’t worry about it. They both delighted in the discovery that the other also hated Christmas, and Steve was genuinely excited to learn all about Chanukkah instead. Eddie invited him over to the trailer every evening, where they’d light the candles together and eat sufganiyot, and Wayne would tell them all the stories that were so familiar for Eddie and so new to Steve. And even though Steve didn’t share in their history, this tradition became theirs, more than Christmas could ever have.

The Engagement

The Wedding Ceremony
• Venue: Can vary widely from churches and synagogues to outdoor locations and unique venues like museums or beaches.
• Processional: The wedding party, including bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, and the bride, walk down the aisle. The bride is classically escort by her father.
• Exchanging Vows: The couple exchanges vows, which can be traditional or personally written.
• Rings Exchange: The exchange of wedding rings, symbolizing their commitment.
• Unity Ceremony: Many couples incorporate a unity ceremony, such as lighting a unity candle or blending two types of sand, to symbolize their union.
Post-Ceremony Traditions
• Kiss the Bride: Following the pronouncement of marriage, the couple shares their first kiss as a married couple.
• Recessional: The newlyweds exit the ceremony, often to lively music, followed by the wedding party. The Reception
• Reception Venue: Can be anything from a ballroom to a backyard, reflecting the couple’s style.
• First Dance: The newlyweds allocate their first dance as a married pair.
• Parent Dances: Dances with the bride and her father, and the groom and his mother.
• Toasts: Speeches by the best man, maid of honor, and sometimes other guests, celebrating the couple.
• Cake Cutting: The couple cuts the wedding cake together and often feed each other a piece.
• Bouquet and Garter Toss: The bride tosses her bouquet to the single women, and the groom tosses the garter to the single men.
Modern Variations and Trends
• Personalized Ceremonies: More couples are opting for ceremonies that reflect their personalities and beliefs, sometimes incorporating traditions from other cultures.
• Eco-Friendly Weddings: Sustainable practices, like using recycled materials and minimizing waste, are becoming more popular.
• Tech-Savvy Weddings: Live-streaming ceremonies and using social media to share the day with a broader audience.
Conclusion

Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, honeymoon, or simply looking to spend quality time together, here’s how to plan the perfect romantic desert escape.
Choosing the Right Safari Package
Selecting the right desert safari package is crucial for a memorable experience. Opt for a private or VIP safari that ensures exclusivity and personalized service. Companies like Dubai Desert Tour offer a variety of tailored packages that cater specifically to couples, providing intimate and luxurious experiences in the heart of the desert.
The Journey Begins: Dune Bashing and Camel Rides
Start your adventure with a thrilling dune bashing session. Experienced drivers will take you on an exhilarating ride across the rolling dunes, offering breathtaking views and a rush of adrenaline. For a more tranquil experience, enjoy a camel ride together. Camels, the traditional “ships of the desert,” provide a gentle and scenic way to explore the sandy expanse.
Sunset Magic: Capture the Moment
One of the highlights of a desert safari is witnessing the sunset. The desert transforms into a palette of vibrant colors as the sun dips below the horizon. This is the perfect time to capture stunning photographs and enjoy the romantic ambiance. Many safari packages include stops at scenic viewpoints where you can watch the sunset in peace.
Private Dinner Under the Stars
As night falls, the desert takes on a magical quality. A private dinner under the stars is the epitome of romance. Enjoy a sumptuous meal featuring traditional Arabian cuisine, with options for customized menus to suit your tastes. Some tours, like those offered by Dubai Desert Tour, provide a secluded setting with candles and soft music, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

Immerse yourselves in the rich culture of the Arabian desert with various activities and entertainment options. Enjoy traditional performances such as belly dancing and Tanoura shows, which add a touch of mystique to your evening. Participate in cultural activities like henna painting or try on traditional Arabian attire for memorable photos.
Stargazing: A Night to Remember
The clear desert skies offer a perfect opportunity for stargazing. Far from the city lights, you can see a breathtaking array of stars. Some desert safari tours provide telescopes and guided star tours, allowing you to explore the wonders of the night sky together. This peaceful and intimate activity is an ideal way to end your romantic evening.
Luxurious Overnight Stay
For the ultimate romantic experience, consider an overnight desert safari. Spend the night in a luxurious desert camp equipped with all modern amenities. Weekend Getaway: Must-Haves for a Relaxing Escape
Planning a weekend getaway can be an exciting endeavor. It offers a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Whether your destination promises the soothing sounds of crashing waves on a sun-kissed beach, the crisp mountain air of a tranquil retreat, or the rustic charm of a countryside hideaway, the prospect of escaping the monotony of routine is undoubtedly exhilarating. However, the key to truly savoring every moment of your getaway lies in meticulous planning and thoughtful packing. Ensuring you have the right essentials can significantly enhance your experience, transforming a simple trip into an unforgettable adventure.
So, before you set off on your weekend escapade, take a moment to peruse this comprehensive guide, brimming with indispensable must-haves tailored to make your retreat a refreshing and blissful retreat.
Comfortable Footwear
Comfortable footwear is crucial for any getaway. You’ll likely be walking, exploring, and maybe even doing a bit of light hiking, so packing the right shoes is essential. Consider versatile options and buy slippers online in Dubai that can effortlessly transition from day to night. On the other hand, ladies' sliders, for instance, are a fantastic choice. They are easy to slip on and off, perfect for casual strolls, lounging by the pool, or quick trips to the local café. Their chic and casual design ensures you remain stylish without compromising comfort.
Casual Clothing
Pack clothing that suits your destination's climate and your planned activities. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are ideal for warm destinations, while layers are key for cooler climates. Opt for versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched easily to create multiple outfits. A pair of comfortable jeans, a few T-shirts, a light jacket, and a dress or two for dinners out should cover most scenarios.
Relaxation Essentials
A weekend getaway is all about relaxation. Don’t forget to bring items that enhance your downtime. A good book or e-reader, your favorite music, or even a portable board game can be great additions to your packing list. If you enjoy pampering yourself, consider bringing a few spa essentials like face masks, scented candles, and essential oils.
Slippers for Ultimate Comfort
Comfort is paramount when winding down in your hotel room or vacation rental. This is where slippers come into play. If you're traveling to or from Dubai, you'll find a vast selection of slippers available online. Buying slippers online in Dubai offers the convenience of shopping from a wide range of options that cater to various tastes and preferences. Look for comfortable and supportive slippers, making your relaxation time even more enjoyable.
Toiletries and Personal Care
Don’t forget your toiletries and personal care items. Pack travel-sized versions of your essentials, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and skincare products. A small first-aid kit with basic supplies like band-aids, pain relievers, and any necessary medications is also a good idea.
Travel Accessories
A few well-chosen travel accessories can make your trip more comfortable. A reusable water bottle, a travel pillow, and a compact umbrella can come in handy. Also, consider packing a small backpack or tote bag for day trips and excursions.
Conclusion
Focusing on these essentials will prepare you for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend getaway. Remember, the key to a successful trip is balancing comfort with convenience, and with the right items, you can ensure a stress-free escape. So, pack your bags, slip into your ladies' sliders, and don’t forget to buy slippers online in Dubai for the ultimate relaxation experience. Whether exploring new sights, unwinding by the beach, or enjoying some quality time with loved ones, having the right essentials to hand sets the stage for a memorable and rejuvenating weekend. Go ahead and indulge in some well-deserved relaxation – you've earned it!

has been thinking about proposing for a long, long time
and by long, long time i mean, he’s been thinking about this ever since the two of you started dating
victor has a one track mind: dating, proposal, marriage. when he gets into a relationship with you, it’s all or nothing
the man might seem like he’s emotionally constipated - but he’s determined to make this relationship work, to officially join the two of you together for the rest of your lives
victor is a traditionalist romantic, he inherited that side from his mother. he’s big on romantic shows of affection and has the money to do it too, so he gets down to preparing something that will definitely blow you away
he’s brought up the idea of proposing before, wanting to wait until you’re as ready as he is about the idea of being together
when you give him positive answers, jokingly telling him that he’ll have to do all the cooking or you’d turn him down on the spot, he knows that it’s time to pop the question
gradually puts together a proposal plan after work each day, making arrangements and phone calls
goldman gets roped into helping overtime (give the poor man a raise)
aside from goldman, though, victor is determined to get this proposal down on his own: it’s his proposal, and he’ll do it with his own hands
personally goes to the florist to inspect each and every rose he’s buying (he’s buying them by the hundreds), trimming them of the thorns and bundling them into bouquets
he’s not fantastic with his hands, fumbles with the silk ribbons that seem to keep slipping through his fingers and some of the bouquets look just a little lopsided, but it’s the effort that counts for him
victor knows money can buy almost anything in the world, but he also knows more than anyone else what money can’t buy - your love, your devotion, your patience with him
finds himself reminiscing a lot about his memories with you, from the way you jammed your foot in his office door and shouted how you were going to get that funding no matter what to the way you shiver when he kisses you
gods, time works in some strange ways
you realise he’s been looking a little exhausted when you come to deliver the reports to his office, but victor waves it off, looking as put together as ever
goldman complains to you that he’s been staying up late doing extra work and that he should at least get a bonus, but victor drags him away before he can say another word
(he does get a bonus, but it’s more of hush money than anything. from then on goldman keeps his mouth faithfully shut)
one day after a work week, victor invites you to souvenir for dinner. it’s rare that he brings you there nowadays, because you’d rather just eat together in his house, but you’ve missed the place and mr mills
he sends you a dress to wear, a beautiful wine red affair that fits you like a second skin, and also a limousine to pick you up. no one but him is seeing you in that dress
you’re kind of stressed, because victor just dropped this on you out of nowhere and oh god is something big happening? the dress looks more like something you’d wear on the red carpet than a simple meal
you redo your make up five times before giving up
when you enter the limo, the chauffeur passes you a delicate jewelry box “with regards from mr li”. you open it to find a string of sparkling stones - no, those cannot be real... right?
when you think about your boyfriend though, no they’re quite definitely real
you put it on with shaking hands. victor has a penchant for giving you the strangest gifts, from a golden camel he’d found in a souvenir shop while visiting dubai to a glass jar of pink sand from the beaches of eleuthera just because you had mentioned wanting to visit in passing
but diamonds? you’re pretty sure you’ve seen this as a collector’s item somewhere... how much did they cost?
stepping into souvenir is like stepping into another world altogether - you’ve never seen it like this before
there are velvet roses decorating the small restaurant, in all manner of colour, wine red, champagne, white and pink, scented candles lighting up the room with their flickering glow
and standing in the middle of it all is victor dressed in a dark suit, holding a huge bouquet of red roses in his hands. when he sees you, his face softens ever so slightly, and he puts the flowers in your hands “here”
doesn’t so much as explain what they’re for, pulling out your chair for you. the two of you are the only ones here, and victor serves you himself
is it just you, or does the food somehow taste better than usual?
during the course of the entire dinner, however, victor looks like he wants to say something, but can’t quite open his mouth
he puts a pudding in front of you for desert, your favourite, but this time when you cut it in half with your spoon, there’s sound of metal on metal
you frown. surely victor wouldn’t have dropped one of his cuff-links inside? scooping it out, you find a single, silver band inside, a sparkling diamond resting on the top
you stare at it for a good few seconds without moving, unable to believe your eyes. you’re not hallucinating, right? that’s really a diamond ring there in the middle of your pudding?
you know it’s a proposal. you just can’t seem to shed the thickness in your throat that steals your voice, the way your hands are trembling too much to pick the ring up, the way you’re on the verge of bursting into tears
victor is a little flustered. he can’t see the ring from where he is since it’s still firmly lodged in the pudding. did you swallow it on accident?
he rises to his feet, picks up the ring (where it is, thankfully, still in the pudding and not halfway down your throat), and kneels next to where you’re seated
your eyes are wide with unshed tears, and suddenly he finds it difficult to speak
fuck, he had a speech written... he can’t remember a damn bit of it now
when he whispers your name, you look up at him with those beautiful eyes in stunned shock, and the words just tumble out.
“i know that i am not a perfect man, that sometimes we fight, and that there are times we disagree. i know all of that, but i also know that more than anything in the world, you’re the one i want to spend the rest of my life with.” words have never felt heavier on his tongue. “i love you, i really do. will you marry me?”
you’re still frozen, unable to wrap your head around this, victor is proposing to you. on the other hand, the poor man is starting to wonder if he’s given you a heart attack. “you don’t have to give me an answer right now, you can take some time to think over it more clearly. i know it’s an important decision to make, so-”
you practically knock him over with the force of your hug, squeezing him so tight to you victor almost feels like he can’t breathe
“yes.” you whisper into his ear, and he can feel your tears - warm tears of pure joy falling onto the bare skin of his neck. “yes, i’ll marry you, victor.”
ahh fuck. victor doesn’t know why he feels like crying too. he holds you tighter so you can’t see his face. “you’ll rip your dress like that, dummy.”
when the two of you finally get off the floor, he puts the ring on your finger, and you pull him in for such a fierce kiss that you almost knock him to the ground again
“dummy” he whispers again, and kisses you back just as hard
LUCIEN
Tumblr media
surprisingly, just recently starting thinking about proposing
for him, the fact that you were already dating him was all the happiness he thought he deserved for everything he had done as ares
he knew that he had hurt you before, his betrayal, his involvement with black swan, and although he seemed perfectly fine on the outside, he would lie in bed, late at night and unable to sleep, thinking
“does a person like me really deserve such an ordinary happiness?”
everything had been about the evolution of mankind to him, survival of the fittest, leaving the weak behind
and yet nowadays when he sat on a park bench and partook in his usual hobby of people-watching, non-evolvers and evolvers alike, mingling without distinction and enjoying their time together, as friends, as family, as lovers, he couldn’t help but ache for that intangible something as well
love. a concept that had been so utterly foreign to him that he’d merely dismissed it as a survival mechanism humans had developed so that different people would take care of each other, increasing their chances of procreating and passing on their genes
until he had met you
he remembered something you had told him once
“if I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” it was love that made humans humane
he had dreamed so much about a future where only the best of humanity had survived, leading to a elite society of humans, but if they had to give up this love to get there, did that really make them human?
he pulled together the tiny fragments of memories he had of his parents. the way they had loved each other, the way they had loved him. the way you love him, even though there’s no logical explanation to why you would, even after all he’s done
tears slip silently down lucien’s cheeks on the park bench, alone, for the first time since that car accident when he was five
a young girl offers him a tissue, he smiles and thanks her, watching her scurry back to her family
so you were right all along, weren’t you?
when he confesses this to you one night, with your arms wrapped around his in bed, you look down at him with the most tender smile - so full of this love that he feels like he needs to look away, yet he can’t tear his eyes away from your face
“everyone deserves to be happy, lucien. and i want to be one of the reasons for your happiness, if you’ll let me.”
silly girl. you’re the reason he’s understood happiness in the first place
dating isn’t enough for him. he wants more, to be bound to you, heart, body and soul. he wants to become family, he wants to see you in a white dress. he wants to see his ring on your finger, your love belonging to him for the rest of your lives
he wants to give you the same love you’ve given him
“when two people come together in love, it grows.” you had told him gently, one day out on a date with him. “i want to make you happy because it makes me happy too.”
he’s watched plenty of romance novels in an attempt to replicate the human emotion of love, so he’s all too aware of how the sweetest of words slip out far too easily from his mouth
all those seem so trivial, so lackluster when it comes to expressing just how much he feels for you - it even scares him sometimes
proposals needs rings. that’s the easy part
but he wants to ask you in a way that means something deeper for the two of you
sometimes the old ghosts come back to haunt him and taunt, ‘look at how weak you’ve become, ares, what a fool.’ your arms and lips are there to chase the darkness away
it’s an emotional journey for the two of you
waits till it’s spring to do it
lucien invites you out on a date to a garden exhibition in the rural countryside
it’s a small, beautifully kept greenhouse (typically, it wouldn’t be open to the public, but lucien pulled a few strings with the owner)
when you step in, you’re stunned to see vibrant colours all around in this small, cozy greenhouse. beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe it
you’re already stunned enough until one of the petals flutter just a little before taking off into the air, it’s a butterfly!
your smile makes lucien smile
you run from bush to bush, from flower to flower, gushing to lucien about how beautiful they are - lucien thinks you’re far more beautiful, but just smiles and nods
“did you know that some butterflies only live for a few days after hatching?” he wonders aloud, and you turn back to see him watching two butterflies dancing together in the air. “and yet they’re still one of the most beautiful sights that nature can offer the world.”
you slip your hand into his. when he looks down at you, bemused, and you smile. “kind of like human lives, don’t you think?”
the two of you spend some time at the greenhouse before you leave, wandering along the some of the grassy fields outside. to your surprise, there’s a small stall selling handmade kites
lucien catches you looking at it, and asks if you want to fly kites. you remember your promise together, to fly kites in spring. he hasn’t forgotten it, not even once
you shout encouragement to lucien as he runs, pulling the kite along, and cheer as the purple butterfly kite soars up into the air on the stiff breeze
the two of you take turns keeping the kite in the air
doing this together makes you feel like everything is okay, as if lucien is telling you that he’s ready to put down his past as ares and move on to who he wants to be
you’re feeling just a tiny bit sad when you reel in the kite together, until you see the something shiny tied to the kite
curiously, you pull it free - and realise that it’s a ring
the gem on it is unlike anything you’ve ever seen, it looks white at first glance, but under the light it splits into a rainbow of colours
lucien speaks quietly as he slides it onto your finger. “at first, all i could see this world in was black and white. but the day when you came in my life... i saw colours for the first time. you taught me that this world was so much more than what i thought was right, helped me see the way others saw the world. you brought colour into my life.”
of course you cry. the way lucien speaks is in a way you’ve rarely heard him, his voice isn’t that smooth, composed tone you’re so used to hearing
it’s raw, emotional, and so real with you that you find yourself hanging onto every last word
“i know i don’t deserve you, or the love you give me, but can i be selfish enough to keep asking for it regardless?”
this silly man. why is he asking for it when he already has it all?
holding the kite between you, he kisses you so gently that you feel yourself unraveling under the near painful affection that you can feel from it - the end of one promise, and the forging of a new one together, one that you’ll keep for the rest of your life
SHAW
Tumblr media
what’s marriage? is that something you eat?
shaw hasn’t thought about marriage since like... ever
he’s lived his entire life on the edge, playing with danger, coming and going like the thunder clouds before and after a storm
settling down has never been a concept he’s familiar with, but it’s one he finds himself thinking about after he started dating you
he’s kind of young for this, so he’s not sure if he’s ready to give up this flighty lifestyle - it’s all he’s known all his life
and yet, when you call for him, he’s there. when you need him for help, he appears. when you ask him to remain with you, he stays
isn’t that something similar to being chained down already? shaw wonders, but doesn’t quite understand why he doesn’t seem to mind
sometimes, he worries thinks about the fact that you’re getting older... don’t you think about settling down? didn’t one of your co-workers ask you out on a date a few days ago?
when he brings up this question with you one day, you think about it for a bit before nodding. for a second, a tiny bit of worry edges into his heart, but then you’re kissing him on the cheek gently. “whenever you’re ready.”
fuck. he’s never really cared about being a reliable person, he’s the only person who he’s had to take care of his entire life, but now he has you
he wants to be your rock. your anchor in the storm. your man.
when the fuck did he get so cheesy???
finds himself making tiny changes in his lifestyle that he wasn’t even aware of, waving away a cigarette when one of his bandmates offer him a stick, choosing to bring you out on late night dates instead of going drinking with some more uh... shady friends
starts taking on a part time job to earn extra cash (and counting his umbrellas so he stops losing them)
mayhaps he has something in mind that he wants to buy (something for you, but he’s not quite sure yet)
the necklace was an impulse purchase
he’d been skating down the streets, heading home from university one day when a pair of necklaces in the window of a shop catch his eye - they have matching charms, a small storm cloud and a sun
his first thought is: wow that’s so stupid
his second thought: you would look cute with it
he knows he’s whipped, but he’s never going to admit it
shaw finds himself buying it anyway, only to regret it immediately after
what the fuck is he doing
he chucks it somewhere into the mess of his apartment, only for it to resurface a few weeks later when you come over to bring back some clothes you’ve left over in his house
you find the jewelry box, and open it to find the necklaces
they don’t really look like shaw’s type. maybe there’s another girl wooing him?
when shaw sees you holding it he’s scrambling to explain, no it’s not a gift from a girl, it’s...
you look at him, confused. “it’s...?”
he doesn’t have much of a choice but to give it to you now. plucking out the silver chain of the sun necklace, he holds it out to you a little awkwardly
“it’s for you.”
you look into the box curiously. “but there’s another necklace...?”
he blurts out what’s been on his mind for a while
“they’re matching necklaces... for you and me.” he mumbles. you don’t think you’ve ever seen him this embarrassed before. “to chase away any bastards who think they have a chance with my girl. damn, this is stupid, i’m going to throw this-”
you grab his hands before he can move, and suddenly you’re wearing the prettiest smile as you ask him, “well, aren’t you going to put it on me?”
chewing on his lower lip, he puts it around your neck. it takes him a few tries to get the clasp right
in return, you put the other necklace around him, kissing his neck and he swallows at the warmth of your mouth
maybe it’s a little too early to start thinking about marriage, but he knows you’ll wait for him, and that he’ll get there one day
“you belong to me now, alright? no one can take you away from me.”

James inviting you over to Dubai to celebrate your birthday. You hating to be in the spotlight being put in that exact spotlight by James the whole evening before your birthday when you have dinner with the boys, him putting you in the spotlight when midnight strikes and it is really your birthday and celebrating in the club etc you ending up on like everyone social medias as 'the birthday girl'
James invites you to Dubai as a birthday present, eager to have his well-deserved rest but also to spend that special day with you. And who are you to give up a free vacation?
You arrive two days before your birthday but James treats you as if it was practically there since you step outside the airport. You try to find out what he's planning, you know he's an exuberant guy when it comes to celebrating but you're calmer and you always get a worrisome sense of anxiety when he says 'don't worry, I'll take care of it'.
Ben didn't want to tell you anything either, but you know he knows. When you asked him what his friend was planning, all he did was giggle and change the subject. So yeah, you're a little worried.
But still, you enjoy those few hours before your birthday trying not to think about it, enjoying the sun and the beaches and James and the boys' company. Swimming, playing beach volleyball, laughing and having a great time.
Until James tells you you were going to dinner that night. With all the boys, of course. So you take your time getting ready, a nice red dress you know will drive J crazy. You know that for a fact.
James knocks on the door at the time he told you he was coming by, you kicked him out to get ready without distractions. And when he sees you, his jaw almost falls to the floor. "Babe" he makes you turn around to admire you in all your beauty. You laugh out loud, but that dress is one of your favourites. It makes you feel more confident.
"You look beautiful, we might as well skip dinner" he says seriously and you laugh, taking the purse and closing the door behind you. "No way, come on" He complains playfully but placing a hand on your waist and heading towards the car that was waiting for you outside the hotel.
Some of the guys are already there, others arrive a little late but you have a quiet evening. James can't take his eyes off you, his hands always on you when you are sitting next to him or when you move to another room after dinner.
This is bigger and the music is definitely louder, but it's always just for you. And you're leaning against the railing that gives it to the room, laughing and mocking James with Jack when your laugh suddenly goes off. James asks for everyone's attention and looks for you in the hall, Jack giggles and the bastard raises his arm to attract his attention.
"Babe, (Y/N) come on! It's your day! Almost but come on" he yells excitedly as he signals to come closer and only you know how many bad things you're thinking in your head now, under the whistles and the chants of the guys present. Well maybe he knows it too because he turns down the microphone and laughs looking you in the eye.
You shake your head while he squeezes you lightly in his arms and makes everyone in the room shut up, but making more noise than anything else and making you lower your head and shake it giggling. He'll never change.
Then the lights in the room get dimmer and he starts singing Happy Birthday and soon the people there join him. You look at the cake approaching with glossy eyes and as soon as he finishes singing, you hug him and he leaves lots of kisses on your cheek and lips.
"Make a wish" you look into his eyes as you blow out those candles and now everyone is holding the phone and filming that moment, you hug James and he laughs because you remind him that you hate him. Ben wants a special and unique photo with the birthday girl and you really hate James for putting you in the spotlight, but you can't help but love him as he hugs you from behind and puts his chin on your shoulder following the rhythm of the song and yelling in your ear happy birthday again.

Yacht Club
Mc buys a yacht and takes her future wifey for a cruise 💋
Sonia x MC
Sonia stood at the end of a dock and scoffed at the scrap of paper she held in her hand. The coordinates scribbled on the paper led to a spot off the coast of the Bahamas, a spot in the middle of the fucking ocean. She hadn’t believed it at first, thought that maybe there was a mistake, but the bartender at the tiny bar at the head of the dock had assured her that yes, the coordinates were indeed the middle of the ocean.
“Excuse me, miss?”
Sonia turned to face an older man, a captain’s hat covering his graying hair. “Yes?”
“What coordinates do you have?”
Slightly baffled, Sonia raised an eyebrow. “Why do you ask?”
“I was sent to receive a visitor for my boss, Fiera. A chase is in effect, and the finish line is near.”
Sonia smiled at the code and handed the man the slip of paper. “Mind telling me why these coordinates are going to take us to the middle of the ocean?”
“Afraid I’m on strict orders to tell you nothing and bring you to the coordinates at your earliest convenience.”
“Alright,” Sonia shrugged. “Off we go then, captain.”
“Please, call me Simon. Boat’s this way.”
 ------------
After almost drowning in a small boat several months ago, it was safe to say that Sonia was not currently a big fan of the small motor boat moving farther out to sea. They passed islands and other boats, the sun beginning to sink below the horizon, casting the ocean in a pink sun-kissed haze.
“Not too much longer now,” Simon called from his position at the motor.
The water was calm around them, a crystalline blue, and Sonia took a deep breath. She never thought that she’d find herself in the Bahamas, let alone chasing down a very special someone for what was probably the sixth time. Or was it the seventh? The things she did for this woman. Between her trying to throw every major protection agency off Gwen’s tail and Gwen lying low and seemingly disappearing every couple of weeks, they had to get creative with where and when they got to see one another. Sonia wasn’t complaining, she loved the constant exchange of clues that they’d leave for one another, hinting at locations and encrypted phone numbers so that they could at least speak to one another when a face-to-face meeting was too risky. Safe to say it was the most exciting relationship Sonia had ever been in, but also the most challenging. She’d give almost anything to have Gwen in her life every day, but that was a dream for another time, another day.
A large shape on the horizon drew her attention, and realization finally dawned on her; the coordinates were in the middle of the ocean, yes, but they led directly to a yacht. A very large, very expensive looking yacht.
“Welcome to the Ippolita! Named after the first crown princess of Monaco, you know.” Simon announced, pulling up to the rear of the vessel and tying off the small boat. Sonia smirked at the name of the boat and grabbed her bag, Simon helping her onto the loading dock. “Fiera will most likely be on the second deck, she’s expecting you. Please enjoy your stay.”
Simon gave her a salute as he turned and walked away. Sonia moved to the staircase on her left, marveling at the sheer size of the ship as she ascended to the second deck. Lounge chairs faced out to the ocean, a pair of sliding glass doors behind them, soft music coming from within. Sonia eased the door open, cool air brushing against her face as she walked into the room. A king-sized bed faced the floor to ceiling windows, giving a stunning view of the ocean. Sonia set her bag on the bed and walked down the hall, following the music. She came into a sitting area and there, sitting at a table with blueprints, papers, and devices scattered across it, was Gwen. She chatted animatedly to someone on the phone, shifting through the mess before her.
“Rye, don’t worry, I’ve got it covered.”
Sonia leaned against the door frame, watching the other woman silently. Gold light flooded the room, bathing Gwen in a warm glow, her long hair swept over one shoulder. Sonia was admiring the curve of her neck when Gwen turned around, a smile spreading across her lips at the sight of Sonia.
“Hey Rye, I’m going to have to call you back.” Gwen hung up the phone without waiting for an answer and set it on the table, rising from her chair and crossing the room.
“So, you’re Fiera now, huh?”
“The name kind of found me, and I needed a new cover, so I’m not complaining.”
“Sounds like there’s a story behind that.”
“There is.” Gwen stepped in front of her, letting her arms wrap around Sonia’s waist. “But a story for another time. I’ve missed you.”
“Kiss me like you miss me.”
Gwen laughed against her lips and pulled her to the bedroom.
 ------------
“So… did you steal this yacht too?” They were lying in bed, the ocean calm and dark before them, the windows open to let in the cool sea air.
“Hmm, I can’t remember.”
Sonia rolled her eyes and swatted away Gwen’s wandering hand. “Don’t avoid the question, darling.”
“No, I didn’t steal the yacht, darling.” Gwen chuckled, rolling so she was lying over Sonia, her hair falling around them like a curtain. “I’ve recently come into a lot of money.”
“Lucky you.” Sonia drew lazy circles along Gwen’s back. “Brown hair suits you.”
“Figured I needed to change some things up after my run-in with Ansel’s team in Dubai a few weeks ago. You know, just normal life on the run.”
Sonia leaned up and captured her lips, the kiss slow and lazy. Gwen leaned into her, a heat flushing through her body.
“I could lay here and kiss you all night, but I do have a dinner planned for us on the upper deck,” she whispered against her lips.
The two got dressed and made their way to the upper deck, where a table was waiting under the light of the moon. Candles were lit around the deck, and Sonia smiled as she sat down, a single red rose sitting atop her plate.
“A rose in bloom waits for you in the sea, follow these coordinates and you’ll get to me,” Sage said, reciting the clue and watching Sonia pick up the rose.
“The final clue to finding you. You know how to put up a good chase.” Sonia’s eyes shined with mirth as she looked at Gwen across the table. “It killed me not to see you for a whole seven weeks, you know. But at least the chase kept me sane.”
“Actually, that’s what I want to talk to you about. But first, let’s eat.”
A few crew members walked up the stairs and placed dishes of lobster, shrimp, and caviar on the table, next to baskets of bread and fruit. Champagne was poured into two glasses, and Gwen raised hers in a toast as the crew walked back down the stairs.
“A toast. To evading Ansel, bathing in riches, and most importantly, to us.”
“I’ll drink to that,” Sonia replied, clinking her glass to Gwen’s. “To us.”
“Now, back on topic. As much as I love configuring elaborate chases to get you to find me, I know they can’t go on forever. Seven weeks is much too long without you. You’ve done a phenomenal job keeping them off my trail for the last six months-”
“You’re welcome, by the way.”
“… and while I’ve had a few close calls, I’d say I’m mostly out of hot water. Especially now that my… assets have been divvied up. I have the funds to escape Ansel and watch him combust into flames from afar, metaphorically of course.”
Sonia laughed, plucking a strawberry into her mouth. “And?”
“And I think we should stop running. At least, stop running in opposite directions. Sonia, I love the short time we get to spend together, but I hate when you leave, and I hate having to put distance between ourselves. I know that I can keep Ansel off my tail and keep anyone from suspecting that you were ever involved. You could come with me, and we could go wherever we wanted.”
“Gwen, I can’t just run away with you. What about my job, and my family?”
“Babe, I’ve got enough money that you’ll never have to work a day in your life, but I know you’re passionate about your career, so I’ve found a couple opportunities that might fit your liking.”
Simon walked up the deck at that moment, a pile of folders in his hands. He handed them off to Gwen and refilled their champagne before giving a salute and striding from the deck.
“Thank you, Simon! Now, in this folder you’ll find security details, agency consulting, course teaching, and positions open in law enforcement from pretty much all around the world. You can have your pick, and before you say anything about being handed a job, know that you deserve this, especially after everything Ansel put you through. You’re qualified for every job in this folder.” Gwen handed the folder across the table to Sonia, her expression serious. “I know it’s a lot to think about, so I don’t expect an answer right away. Actually, you don’t owe me an answer, just know that I support you no matter what you do.”
“Gwen, I… I don’t know… what…” Sonia flipped through the folder, her eyes wide. Positions at MI6, the CIA, private security teams. She skimmed through the packets, speechless.
“Hold on, I’m not done yet.” She opened a second folder, flipping through papers and photos. “When we were trapped on that tiny boat and you told me about your sister and how she lost everything, you were so anguished…” Gwen reached across the table and took Sonia’s hand. “I decided right there and then that I never wanted to see you sad again. So, I got to work.”
Sonia took the new folder Gwen handed her, not letting go of her other hand.
“Your sister should be receiving a job offer that she can’t pass up. A great yearly salary, benefits, all that jazz. She’ll also be contacted on Monday with news that a long-lost relative has passed and has left her a small fortune. She and her daughter will live comfortably, and safely, for the rest of their lives.” Sonia was squeezing her hand so hard, she was sure it was going to snap in two. “Oh, and the dickwad that caused all her problems is now sitting cozy in a cell at Trask Island, conveniently linked to the theft of some priceless Monaco jewels…”
Sonia sat speechless, tears in her eyes as she stared across at Gwen. Gwen smirked, trying to gauge her reaction.
“Is this a good reaction, or did I fuck up?”
Sonia jumped from her chair and was in front of Gwen in the blink of an eye, her hands cupping her face. “Gwendolyn Hargraves, you are the greatest person I know. What did I do to deserve you?”
Gwen didn’t get a chance to answer as Sonia sealed their lips together in a searing kiss.
“I have so many questions,” Sonia said breathlessly, breaking the kiss. “But first, why? Why go through all the trouble?”
“Babe.” Gwen pulled Sonia down so she was sitting on her lap, legs dangling off the side of the chair. “I’d honestly do anything for you. This was the least I could do. You’ve already done so much for me.”
Sonia kissed her again, slow and tantalizing, her teeth nipping at Gwen’s lower lip. Gwen squeaked in surprise but kissed her back with such fever and passion that Sonia felt her world spin.
“Our dinner is getting cold,” Gwen mumbled against her lips.
“I’m suddenly not that hungry,” Sonia smirked. “Only want you.”
A shiver ran through Gwen as Sonia’s nimble fingers reached for the hem of her shirt, breaking the kiss to quickly pull it over Gwen’s head and discard it on the floor. Gwen’s skin was hot to her touch, her heart pulsing as she let her hands wander to skim the soft skin of her stomach.
“This chair is getting in my way,” Gwen said against her neck, kissing the olive skin. “Perhaps we can move to the lounge chair.”
Sonia chuckled in her ear, untangling herself and rising from the chair, pulling Gwen so they were flush against one another. Gwen smiled against her lips as she walked backwards towards the lounge chair, keeping her arms tight around Sonia. The back of her calf caught the edge of the chair and she fell back, Sonia following her down with a laugh.
“I’m really glad I went with the plush lounge chairs,” Gwen smirked, pulling Sonia’s shirt over her head. “I’m also really glad you wore your lacey bra.”
Sonia rolled her eyes but laughed again, raking her nails down Gwen’s back as she rolled her hips.
“Fuck, that was hot,” Gwen groaned, leaning back on her elbows to watch Sonia move above her. “But something needs to be done before we go any further or I’m going to go crazy.”
“Pants. Off.”
“My thoughts exactly.”
Sonia stood quickly to pull off her pants while Gwen shimmied out of hers. Sonia was back on top of her in a moment, grinding into her while Gwen let her fingers wander to the clasp of her bra.
“Do you know what Fiera means, my love?” Gwen whispered, kissing the shell of her ear.
“Enlighten me,” Sonia mumbled against her jaw.
“Wild animal.”
“I hope you live up to your name then, Fiera.”
Intense heat ran through Gwen’s body as Sonia started kissing down her chest, her hands lost in Sonia’s hair as she moved lower.
“I thought you weren’t hungry,” Gwen said with a smirk, gasping when Sonia nipped at the inside of her thigh.
“Shut it, Fiera.”
 ------------
Sonia woke the next morning to the soft sound of the yacht moving through the waves, the sheets cool underneath her, the sun warm on her sore limbs as it seeped through the massive windows. She felt completely at ease, and completely sated. Remembering last night, she smiled and opened her eyes, but the bed was empty beside her.
She sat up in the bed and yawned, stretching her arms above her head, looking out at the crystal blue waters moving swiftly past. Gwen stood at the railing, her hair loose around her shoulders, a robe tide loosely around her. Sonia gathered the top sheet off the bed and wrapped it around her, moving out of the cabin to stand on the deck. Gwen turned at the sound of footsteps, a smile gracing her lips.
“Good morning, mi amor.” The term of endearment rolled off her tongue, and Sonia smiled brighter.
“Good morning, lover.” Sonia stepped behind her, wrapping her arms around her waist and resting her chin on Gwen’s shoulder. The yacht was moving swiftly past scattered islands, the sun bright on the horizon. “Where are we off to?”
“It’s a surprise.” Gwen covered Sonia’s hands with her own, leaning into her. “Did you sleep well?”
“Exceptionally. Best sleep I’ve had in months.”
“Good.” Gwen turned her head and gave her a chaste kiss as the boat slowed beneath them.
“I thought about your offer. It only took me a few moments to decide, but I think I’d like to run away with you, Gwen Hargraves.”
Gwen turned in her arms, looking into her eyes. “Are you sure?”
“I haven’t been more sure of anything else in my life,” Sonia says with a laugh. “It will be a new adventure.”
Gwen kisses her again, emotion heavy on her lips. They stand there for a moment, leaning against one another.
“Thank goodness, because honestly I was running out of clever clues to leave you.”
Light laughter dances on the breeze as Sonia buries her nose in Gwen’s neck, drinking in the scent of her sunkissed skin. “I decided last night, as soon as you handed me that second folder. I don’t want to live without you.”
“And now you’ll never have to.”
They stand in the sun, basking in the moment of just being together.
“I think we’re just about there, shall we go get dressed?” Gwen asks after several minutes, running her hands up and down Sonia’s arms.
“If we must.”
“Bikinis are mandatory.”
“Did you book an island?” Sonia asked, turning to look over the side of the boat, an island not too far away.
“Babe, I bought an island.” Gwen turned out of Sonia’s arms, sauntering back into the cabin, shooting Sonia a smirk over her shoulder.
“Son of a bitch. I could get used to having a sugar momma.”
Gwen’s laughter filled the cabin.
 ------------
The beach was pristine, the white sand near blinding in the afternoon sun. A breeze ruffled Sonia’s hair as she flipped through one of the job packets, the folder on her lap and a highlighter in hand, Gwen’s head cradled on her thighs as they lounged in the sand under the shade of an umbrella.
“You’re such a nerd with your highlighter.”
“I want to go through and check every specification. I don’t want to deal with another Ansel.”
“Don’t worry, I only picked jobs that would put you under excellent management. The CIA liaison is probably my favorite, besides the last option, of course.”
Sonia flipped through the folder, pulling out the last packet, a smile tugging at her lips. “Really? Security detail for your heist team?”
“We could use your expertise. And I hear the leader is fantastic.”
Sonia swatted Gwen with the folder and they both laughed.
“Ok. I’ll keep it in mind with my top contenders.” Sonia said it in all seriousness.
Gwen sat up, regarding her. “Really?”
“Why not? It’s still for the greater good, is it not?”
“It most definitely is.”
Sonia spun around at the voice, Gwen grinning cheekily as she stood.
“Glad you could finally make it, Rye.”
Rye wrapped her in a hug. “I missed you. And, well, hanging out on your private island was an invitation I couldn’t pass up.”
Gwen laughed, sitting down next to Sonia. “Sonia, allow me to formerly introduce you to Ryland York. Strategist, smooth talker, and my very best pal.”
“Pleasure to officially meet you, you know, without trying to arrest you and all that.”
Rye chuckled, reaching down to shake Sonia’s hand. “The pleasure is all mine. I’m just glad Gwen found someone that will put up with her head strong attitude and her horrible jokes.”
Gwen nudged him playfully. “Did Eris come to?”
“Yeah, she’s still asleep on the yacht. Graves and Jones are with us too. Samira will talk via video chat, Fabian said he’d meet us here, and Sibil said something about a cruise ship?”
“Wow, I buy a yacht and suddenly everyone follows suit.”
“Guess we’re officially a yacht club.”
“Good thing we have this island to hold our… yacht club meetings.”
“Should I be present during these ‘yacht club’ meetings?” Sonia asked, raising a perfect eyebrow.
“Of course. You’re a member by association now.” Gwen kissed her shoulder, leaning against her.
Rye smiled at the two of them, leaning back into the sand. “Welcome to the yacht club, Sonia.”
