Crazy Heartbreakers ruined Josuke's entire character in 189 words.

This is all after he met Ryoko and heard her story about copying her hair from Noriaki. He asks her if he can "borrow it", and this is what happens next when he comes across the possessed bakers.

“Looks like you’re all real interested in this great hair of mine… Wanna know why I wear it?”

He kept walking towards them as he spoke.

“That’s right---it all went down 10 years ago. I came down with a high fever---I was on death’s door. My mom tried driving me to the hospital, but to make matters worse, there was a huge blizzard that day. Our car got stuck, and just when things were looking grim for me, my hero appeared. He saved me, put me on his bike, and took me to the h---no, wait.”

Josuke’s brows furrowed as he spoke.

“Nah, I don’t think he could’ve done that… Think that’s the fever talking---he probably didn’t have a bike. Hang on a sec… Forget about that. It wasn’t a bike. But the car couldn’t move, right? Hmm…”

He stopped to think in the middle of his own story.

“Well, anyway, that guy had my hairstyle, so I copied him and did my hair up the same way… How’s that sound? Whaddya think? Good reason?”

There was a humorous edge to his voice as he approached the possessed women.

I can't even put into words how much of a slap in the face this is to anyone who even remotely likes Josuke. This is basically his core character trait, the most iconic moment in his backstory, the reason he is the way he is, and it's being reduced to him mimicking some girl he just met. Instead, the reason for his sensitivity around his hair is because Ryohei suggested he put his hair up that way to do better in fights.

Kadono took one look at the backstory Araki wrote 30 years ago, this story that was a sweet display of Morioh's golden heart, the kindness of strangers, and the emotional core of Josuke's character, and made it into a joke.

I'll say this, truthfully.

I DON'T MIND SHIPPING RYOKO WITH JOSUKE.

They'd make a great het couple. If it's canon for a Joestar to be het in the series, Ryoko is really up there in the list to be Josuke's future wife.

the latest cddh chapter had me yelling, with ryoko finally getting some form of closure. i love your kakyoins art very much, it’s so good. they are the cousins of all time.

hi there! the latest chapter was so good i wanted to cry and scream and throw myself under a hydraulic press. i loved how it acknowledged how young the two of them were. i love how ryoko was right about kakyoin being the vindictive sort and the juxtaposition to the kakyoin who had befriended the crusaders and matured past the person that ryoko knew. they're everything to me...

This is just from skimming so far, but:

The story does not go into what happens after the manga's events.

Hol Horse still has his whole line about loose ends.

Pet Sounds (they finally put that space in) still does not seem to have a name for its Stand.

Karaiya is inexplicably called the Ultimate Singer. Not the Ultimate Thing, the Ultimate Singer.

We get a scene with Tomoko, and she says that she does not remember who saved Josuke. She doesn't even remember whether the blizzard was before or after his hospitalization.

It is implied that Josuke only did his hair up as a pompadour, respect for his hero aside, because his grandpa said that long bangs were bad for fights.

More updates to come as this national tragedy unfolds.

I... do not have the energy to rant over how painfully underwhelming the CDDH finale was. It started off so strong and then went through the craziest loops before crashing harder than any plane piloted by Joseph

Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but I might talk more about it later if I have the energy to. I did still enjoy the story it's just... very disappointing...

Also a long while back I saw a tumblr post joking that what if the reason Josuke was a lot nicer in part 4 was because he got rejected by Ryoko. I can't find the post anymore but it made me smile a bit. To that OP, how does it feel to be hit by the dodgeball that is Apollo's gift of prophecy? :)
