not sure if I'm really "back", but I'm here for at least..........a sec. lmao! how's it hanging in simblr-world?? what's new w/u guys?

rambling update about where I've been/this account under the cut:

in the time I was gone, I bounced to another tumblr fandom/circle and I've been really enjoying it! tbh, I think part of the thing that killed my enthusiasm for simblr was how lonely it felt after a while.

idk if it's still present, since I've been out of the sphere for a hot second, but there very much was a push for keeping your blog "clean" or self-curated to be 99% your own content?? idk how to explain it. but that was just the norm. reblog ur buddies once in a blue moon but keep your space neat so ppl could see ur stuff. and, u know, @ the time, I really didn't see anything too weird about that.

but now? after hopping into multiple fandoms and being active in other communities? where reblogging other ppl's stuff and making ur blog a funky lil collage of things u love (gifsets/writing/art/memes) is just? normal? what u do? that simblr culture feels v strange to me jdfhfdjshjdsf

that's not the only reason I drifted away tho!! can't put the blame solely on that!! I think it was also just..............the product of getting older and getting into other things!! I made this account when I was 21........and I'm 27 now LOL. things have certainly changed over the years.

if I stick around simblr this time, I might be migrating to a new account! that just feels like the vibe rn. will keep u posted if that happens.

About the Players:

Pokémon Violet is being played by one-half of a dynamic duo (Taz/Trina of tazsaintsart) while Pokémon Sword is being played by the other half (Hope, aka gleaming_hope). Since our respective games are new to us, and we wanted to share our thoughts and quips and feelings on these games through the eyes of our youngest characters, Alex and Max. Additionally, we have the support of our friends Dia (@diamondphantom) and Alyss (@calicowitchling) who are assisting Taz with filling in character tones on story posts~!

FAQ:

Q: Is there a set posting schedule? A: Hell no. Making a schedule and deadlines is the quickest way to destroy my motivation to draw. The pressure turns into anxiety which turns into guilt which turns into shame and then nobody gets anything fun anymore.

Q: Sword's old! Why would you include it? A: Because it's new to Hope (OP's husbando) and he has his own quirky sense of humour worth sharing too. Besides, it means more story posts for you and I feel it's a great counterbalance to the story of Violet.

Q: Will you include the DLC? A: Eventually! Gotta' finish the main story first!

Q: Is it just me, or is the scaling/heights between characters a bit wonky? A: It's not you! The in-game player charas skewed my perception so it took me a while to figure out character heights that I could use consistently, so Alex might seem shorter than he should be in earlier posts, while Max was a bit bigger than he was meant to be.

Q: What's this 'Lato' thing I keep seeing mentioned? A: Lato is a fan region based on Poland, created by this blog's art assistant @diamondphantom~ In Alex's canon/backstory, he had a particularly lengthy school trip through the region four years prior to Paldea. It doesn't really affect the current story beyond showing that Alex has had a significant mood shift in the four years since the school trip.

Q: Will you draw '_____'? A: Maybe, maybe not! Aside from a set motivation for the boys, posts will just be whatever we feel like sharing.

Q: Can I suggest ideas, or submit my own work to this blog? A: The Ask and Submissions boxes are open for this very reason! The 10-Things-Challange

a few days ago I startet a little "Challange" for myself:

To Create a room in Sims 3, by combining random things I find within the Sims-Community. So I will download the first 10 things that I see on this day, if I like them, or at least don´t dislike them, and put them together with 5 other things that I can choose freely.

The goal is, to create with just 15 objects a room that makes some kind of sense. For example it can represent a certain style, or a theme, or an idea, or even tell a little story, whatever comes to my mind.

Turns out, this is so much FUN!, to put stuff together that I normaly never would consider to combine :-) !

So I don´t know if someone had this idea before already, it happened while I was sorting CC-files, and this element of coincidence was so appealing to me, that I decided to give it a try.

Now I want to show you my first outcoming, and how I decided which objects to choose, or how the objects chose me; and what rules could be useful or not.

First I visited TSR, to see what's new there. The newest entry was:

So that are 7 objects already - meaning I have to leave this site now (?) .

--> Working on the rules:

Would be much to easy if most ot the 10 objects would come from the same set, but I think 3-4 objects from one set will be OK.

And I wonder if I should leave a source after finding the first "thing", or if its OK to stay on the site, and just go back in the timeline to the next entry of another creator? I guess it depends on how often I will do this challange - 3 times a week, 3 times a month...

BACK TO THE CC -

Then I went to tumblr and chose the first of my sims3-tags that are CC-related, it was #s3ccfinds (some of the first entrys were reblogs from wandering sim).

I skip all CAS-Stuff, just looking for objects to put in a room.

I counted until I had "10 things" = single objects:

2) My Wedding Stories Trees, Set with 5 objects, from @bioniczombie

3) Venyl-Collection, 1 object, from @johziii

4) Tombstones, 2 objects, from @lolabellesims

5) Some Weird Posters, 1 object, from @wanderingsimsfinds

6) Out In The Yard, Set with 4 objects, from @Itssimplythesims

So this time the 10 objects will be from 6 diferent creators.

Plus the 5 "wild objects" I can chose freely.

--> Some more specifics about the rules:

For example them posters from wanderingsim, thats 1 object, but its a huge collection of 33 posters = items. In a case like that, I might use 3-4 different looking items, I treat this object like a set.

During this first challenge, I changed some stuff I a bit, that shows in the pics: added windows; changed styles; changed postition of the poster + sofa.

I will lead you through the scenery pic-by-pic, counting the objects up to 15.

Umm... So I'm not a really good writer, but I have a lot of ideas I believe would make good plots, even though I've never been able to write my own fic. Well, I had this idea that I knew needed to exist and that I wasn't enough to do justice to, so I decided to ask if you could write this since you're such an amazing writer and are able to keep the Winchesters so close to their own selves, even in situations so different from their own lives. So, here goes nothin':

Have you ever seen The Amazing Race? It's a tv show on Paramount+ that's currently in its.... 35 season? I think? (I can't remember, we just binged season 33 and that was the Covid year season. ) But my family and I were watching it and all of a sudden I wondered: What would happen if Dean and Sam Winchester were on a season of The Amazing Race? What challenges would they excell in? Which ones would trip them up? What would they say during the interviews, since there's no way they could talk about their actual lives and what they do for a living? What kind of relationships would they form with the various other teams? Would Sam and Dean win the race? If not, how far would they get?

Not as like, an au or anything like that, but as a Sammy Put In An Application For Us As A Joke But Then They Actually Picked Us And Now Our Friends Won't Let Us Pass This Up thing. Wouldn't that be so fun? Like, Sam and Dean are so used to working together under stressful circumstances, and they know how to pack lightly and effectively, so they probably would be the most prepared team out there right off the bat. And then in one of their little 'interview cuts' they'd talk about their family, about Cas and Jack and how Dean and Cas are essentially married ("Shut up, Sammy! I'm not- We're not- Dude!" *cue blush**Sam whispers 'Yeah they are' to the camera*) Sometimes the other teams will be all "How on earth are they so GOOD at this?!?!?" when the boys are excelling at the more unusual roadblocks and challenges.

This would be such an Amazing fic, and I know that I am nowhere near able to do it justice. I humbly ask if you would do me the honor of writing this story.

Hi there! I am wildly aware of the Amazing Race, and have watched every season since it first began way back in... i think 2001? that seems right. I don't know if you're aware that I have written an Amazing Race-esque fic. It's the fifth (and currently the last, but I always think I'd like to go back at visit the 'verse again) installment of the Tumblr Anonymous 'verse that begins with Project Beyonce.

It does take place in an AU where there's no hunting, but they do have useful skills, and was written back in 2016 so there's no Jack. But rather than make up a dozen teams of complete strangers/oc's for them to compete against, I sort of... just made all the teams their friends (all spn characters you will recognize) for reasons that are entirely clear in-story (especially if you've read the prior stories in the 'verse). I just wanted an excuse to send them all on this journey. :)

The one thing I learned from writing it though was that I never, ever wanted to have to write another version of it. All the respect to the people who plan and execute the Amazing Race because they are champions of logistics! I did it once, and only in a work of fiction, and that was more than enough lolol. Though I would be thrilled if someone else took up the challenge to make this a canon or canon-adjacent fic! It's just... not gonna be me, sorry!

This was possibly the most logistically complicated thing I've ever written. It's called Around the World in 24 Days, and I hope it does at least a little bit to satisfying your craving for the race!

For post ideas, I'd like to ask about your thoughts on Candace so far! I read the daily updates, but I was wondering about your general opinion on playing with her. Fun? Difficult? Does her gameplay remind you of any other characters? And what party do you think works best for her? That's all, thank you! my favorite part about her gameplay is definitely how satisfying it feels. her normal attacks just feel amazing to use! I think her whole shield thing is super cool and the animations are just so smooth!

but something else I noticed is that her gameplay doesn't feel that impactful if that makes sense? Like when I play Beidou and hit that perfect parry I can kinda feel it and it feels strong and powerful. I'm kinda missing that a bit with Candace

As for what characters she reminds me of, I would definitely say Yun Jin. The smooth normal attacks, same functioning parry, and burst that deals damage + buffs. They also both have gorgeous designs!

I think my biggest issue with Candace is that she doesn't synergize with anybody. I haven't yet found a pairing where I'm like "yeah, this works perfectly" Nobody really want her infusion and when played as a DPS, I struggle to find the perfect last party member

I've played Bennet + Kazuha with her that obviously works well but I just don't know who to put in that last slot! I've thought of Xiangling but then that's Xiangling Kazuha Bennet so obviously its gonna work.

My favorite choice for this slot ended up being Beidou! First off, absorbing Pyro with Kazuha's burst creates a super fun rainbow team that's a lot like Yoimiya overvape. There are so many reactions and having both Beidou and Candace to parry is quite fun.

The other character I tried was actually Dehya! She's obviously not a stellar character but she was able to run tenacity of the millileth and grant pyro resonance! Her Pyro application helped a little bit but it's not that notable

There's 1 team that I want to try with her but haven't gotten to. Mono Hydro! I think it would be fun to pair her with Furina and get marechausse and the other options would be quite flexible. Definitely want to try this out when I get the chance although I worry that her personal damage without vape would just not be that impressive

Speaking of damage, that was the main thing I was looking for in these teams. I think I was able to get 18k on a CA once? My struggle was trying to choose between max HP mainly for her skill damage or just attack. Investing in both isn't ever the best choice so I ended up going full attack

I think Candace is a super fun character to build for fun. I went into the challenge without many expectations and I think that's the best way to go about it. If you have the spare resources and like Candace, it could be fun! I'm looking forward to finishing my build and moving on to the next character!!
