Page 04. ---- Taken Off Train by Police at Sudbury for Wisconsin --- SUBMITS TO ARREST --- Sudbury, July 31 (CP). - A man, said by police to be George van Dananni, wanted in connection with a murder in Wisconsin, was held in jail here tonight. The man, unarmed, submitted to arrest quietly when an Ontario Provincial Police constable and two railway policemen boarded a Canadian Pacific train at Cartier, 40 miles northwest of Sudbury, Saturday night. Police here acted on instructions from Winnipeg police, who telegraphed advice that the man was en route to Sudbury. It was learned the Provincial Police constable, the railway policeman, and J. E. Morrison, Chief of Police of Chapleau, held a consultation in the baggage car, then closed in upon the man with drawn revolvers. Provincial Police headquarters here said the man was being held in custody pending receipt of further word from Winnipeg.

Two face spousal assault charges in unrelated incidents

Members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in Foleyet at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 29, 2020. A 35-year-old male from Timmins was arrested as a result of the investigation and charged with the following: Assault -- spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC).

Superior East OPP officers responded to a domestic dispute in Foleyet at approximately 12:10 a.m. on Oct. 1 , 2020. A 40-year-old male from Foleyet was arrested as a result of the investigation and charged with the following: assault — spousal, contrary to section 266 of the CC.

Both accused parties were released from custody and are set to appear in Chapleau before the Ontario Court of Justice in December 2020.
