Hey, if anyone's looking for a good Japanese action movie to watch, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the 1975 movie The Bullet Train, starring Ken Takakura and Sonny Chiba. Basically, it's about a terrorist group who's planted a bomb onboard a bullet train, and the bomb will go off if the train goes under 80 km/h (50 MPH). So yeah...it was Speed before there was Speed.

Review "Bullet Train" (1975)

I watched "Bullet Train" (1975) directed by Jun'ya Satô. It stars a number of people including Ken Takakura, Shin'ichi Chiba and Kei Yamamoto. This was an interesting film although most definitely not a great film. It was an okay film. It was very tense, fairly fast-paced but the acting was just okay for the most part. Similarly the direction was not great.

From IMDb: "Criminals plant a bomb on a high-speed train. It will explode when the train slows down, unless a ransom is paid."

The movie "Speed" was based on this concept. I would say that "Speed" was also better than this film.

There was great attention paid to details related to the high speed train system. General reviews rated in the 5 to 8 out of 10 range. I definitely would put it closer to 6 range, maybe. If you're a big action-movie fan, you might like this a lot. I guess the musical soundtrack could be characterized as definitely from the 70s. I didn't really think it was very good.

The release from Eureka is very good. I still have the extras on the disc to view.

Cinematography: Tadashi Sakai. Film editing: Michio Suwa. Music: Masaru Sato. Colorful but rather confusing film about an 18th-century Japanese crime lord, played by Tatsuya Nakadai, who hires a one-eyed bodyguard with amnesia, played by Yoshio Harada. Violent confrontations ensue.

ドニーさんが出ると聞いて期待値がマキシマム！と、いうワケで作ってみました「ジョン・ウィック４」妄想ポスター。 映画の内容全然知らないから（今記事作成中の現在、映画はまだまだ撮影中）コンセプトはなんとなーく「どん底から這い上がりつつもさらにイントゥ・ザ・地獄」って感じです。

妄想ポスター制作開始時には「とにかくドニーさん推し！」くらいしか考えてなくて、ドニーさんが「ＪＷ」の殺し屋ユニバースに合流するなら同じくドニーさんが殺し屋の「ドニー・イェン ＣＯＯＬ」から画像を拾ってきてキアヌさんと共演させたらわかるヒトにはわかるバカ受けなヤツ出来るよねー、とかそんな感じにキャッキャムフムフと妄想していたのですが、とにかくまーその現在ほどインターネッツが普及してる前の作品だから画像素材がほとんど無い、とにかく無い。

で、そんなこんなでモタモタしてるうちに千葉真一さんの訃報が飛び込んできまして、それに合わせてキアヌが以前何かの映画のプロモーションで来日したときに千葉真一のサプライズ訪問に大喜びする映像も流れてきたんですね「あー、このヒト本当に千葉ちゃん好きなんだなー」と充分に感じられる思い出映像が。

で、で、ＪＷ４には真田広之さんも出演するようなので、なんならキアヌさん千葉ちゃん超好きなんじゃん？だったらもしかしてもしかしたら万が一にもあり得たかも知れない非常に薄～い可能性の未来として「どうやら過去のどこかのタイミングで袂を別ってしまった（らしい）ＪＡＣの師弟の夢の共演」も盛り込みつつ、せめて虚構で「握手をしよう」な追悼の作品にしたら素敵なんじゃーないかと、そっちへ舵を切ってモリモリ盛って完成の運びとなりました。

ちなみに全体の香港風味に深い意味はなく単に自分の好みです、中文題「殺神」がカッコイイから、っていうソレ。他の漢字文化圏でのタイトル、台湾、中国の「捍衛任務」よりもシンプルで見た感じ分かりやすいですしねー（「捍衛（かんえい）」外からの侵略に対して敢然として防衛する、て意味らしいです）
